[Q] Convert stock GSM into Developer Edition, best process? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Morning All,
So now that my 1 year warranty is up I have S-OFF'ed my M8 and I would like to now convert the device into the developer edition of the M8. The question is what's the simplest way to go about doing this? After some Googling, I found this Conert One M8 to Developer Edition if I am on Lollipop does that make a difference to the guide? Also, if I change just the CID and boot into the ROM what would happen? Would I get an OTA or would it soft brick? Also, there is a USA Developer Edition which that URL is using, is there a European Developer Edition?
I am just looking for the simplest method to get to Dev Edition and leave it at that, majority of the guides I read all were made with KK in mind and I don't know if LP will make a difference.

Change cid
Change mid
Flash dev firmware
Install dev ruu

[Q] Stock T-Mobile to stock debranded or Dev Edition

Hi! I´ve just got my M8 replaced by HTC, so now I´ve got it completely stock (it´s carrier unlocked). I would like to know the specific steps to follow to turn it to Developer Edition or International Sense Stock, so I can receive updates directly from HTC (tired of waiting for T-Mobile). Once I get 100% stock Sense I'm planing to turn it to install Harman/Kardon Mod. If you can give me direct links I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
Forgot to ask in each case (Dev & International) what CID and MID would be

[Q] HTC One M8 RUU

So I converted my phone to a GPE edition. Now I'm thinking of switching back in the near future to check out what HTC has done with Android 5.0.x but is there an RUU file out? Cause on the HTC dev site there are a lot of FW files but I'm not sure if they are the correct one. Also my phone was unlocked I live in Belgium so wich one should I use?
Thanks in advanced!

Yes. It is the stock WWE RUU.
Make sure you back up anything that is important to you, as this will wipe your device.
Does a diffrent CID can make you get update first in row?

No, as long as you are S-Off so that you can change your CID and MID.

HT doesn't mean you can install developer ROM, rather it shows the factory from which the phone was from. My Sprint Harman Kardon edition has HT serial number too. My first HK edition serial number was HT44RSF04393 and I got a replacement device after 8months with screen replacement with FA serial number HKmodel.
Is your phone a CDMA global phone or an international GSM? If it is a Sprint or Verizon version, there is no option to convert it to a fully international GSM phone.
This link explains the serial number: http://llabtoofer.com/2015/12/14/htc-devices-serial-number-explanation/
I think my phone is an international GSM phone. Any option to check
Phone = S-ON and you are stock NOT on the developers edition :
You can NOT use the dev edition firmware or RUU you can only run the ROM version of MM. You can NOT change CID & MID and fully convert and you can NOT take official OTA updates !
Phone = S-OFF
You can change CID & MID and you can change to developers edition firmware and RUU (fully convert to dev edition) and take future OTA updates !
Sums it up in big lines

Htc one M9 ATT

Guys i bought this htc one m9 ATT variant it has android 5.1.1 lollipop and its S-off and htc dev unlocked already can you guide me how to reach offical htc m9 nougat rom with twrp recovery thanks
Get back to stock (= stock recovery and an untouched system image) and install HTC's OTAs via the software update function of the phone. All needed information can be found in the ReadMe thread.
recovery is stock if i press the update option it says no update is availble and makes me wait 24 hour before update so OTA are no go for me
Then your MID and or CID probably don't match the ones that belong to AT&T's SKU (502). If you could post the output of fastboot getvar all (without your IMEI) here we might be able to solve that problem. In addition, it might be useful if you could post the MID that is engraved at the bottom of the back-side of your phone.
Aside from that, are you sure that AT&T already distributed android 7 for the M9? HTC's US website only provides an android 6 RUU. If you don't care about the AT&T stuff and on your phone and want to get android 7 now you could convert it to the Dev edition (SKU 617). A conversion guide can be found in the ReadMe thread.

At least here in the United States, the developer edition of the M9 is the only SKU that has received Android 7 Nougat - none of the carrier versions have Nougat.
