Hi Guys,
yesterday i wanted to update (dirtyflash) my lg g3, because the 2312-Build of CM13 was extremely buggy (Restarts, Blackscreen by ingoing calls, etc.) I´ve done this before about 10thousand times and on 100 other phones, but yesterday after the flash in TWRP the TWRP wasn´t able to delete the cache.
I tried to flash again to delete dalvik and cache afterwards clean, this time it worked. The phone was booting to the PIN-Entry but it freezes - no entry possible.
I want to try flash back an older build, but phone stucks in bootloop - so i have to manually enter recovery to get into twrp. I flashed an older cm13 build 1812 and cache deleting was not possible again.
Yesterday was Xmas so i thought i will fix it today, but on first time when i tried to get manually into recovery mode, the question for deleting all data appeared, but after that TWRP wasn´t starting, just the stuck lg logo again. (Battery was pulled out for the whole night)
Now im not able to boot into recovery mode anymore or do something else. I tried the download mode (Vol+ and then plug in USB) without access.
I cant do something, just look at the beautiful LG Logo - have you guys some advice for me? What could i try?
THX
I have almost the same problem.
Try to charge the battery without starting the phone. After it had 100 percent I was able to start the recovery..

When i plug it in to charge, after 20 Min. fastboot starts automatic!? Is this normal and will the battery get charged in fastboot mode?
I don´t know if it was on 100% battery after about 1 1/2 hour of loading, but the same issue: It asks me for entering in recovery but didnt start TWRP, Logo Bootloop again.
I tried to fix it with adb/fastboot, but no chance. I get the phone listed, but its offline.
Tried to reboot to recovery with the recovery.img (TWRP) and reboot recovery - it starts twrp but stuck on twrp logo.
Somebody help :crying:
Same thing for me on cm13(18-12) with flash other kernel,i get LG Logo and "Security Error" message under it,i couldnt solve it,then flashed stock rom(.kdz) via usb-download mode and solved problem.
Same problem here.
First the phone freezed a couple of times. Pulled the battery out. Then tried to reinstall, the reinstall failed for some reason. And from then on... Stuck in the LG Logo. When I try to charge the phone the battery icon appears but doesn't show progress.. after many be 20 minutes the phone boots in "fastboot mode", but even then when I connect the usb cable it says that the USB cannot be enumerated.
I managed to take some log from the devices right before it freezed the last time.

Flash stock would be great, but i have no possibility to enter usb-download mode. Just Fastboot - and just with offline device.
I can start TWRP with the newest TWRP in the ADB Folder as "recovery.img", and then reboot recovery.img - but it get stuck at TWRP-Logo. The phone react to the commands.
I would need a solution to do a factory reset or flash stock with adb/fastboot and offline device.
same here.
i want to try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...de-how-to-restore-sprint-lg-g3-ls990-t2852042

Please read carefully before you try and flash something - both methods requires USB-Download-Mode, which is actually in my case NOT possible anymore.
Today ive got time and will try a few things, if it works i let you know.

i've tried both KDZ method and TOT method - both not working cuase my phone can't go to download mode and does not recognize correctly in PC.
but this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
seems to do a lot more than this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
you sure it is also pointless?
you all should also follow @maxauvy posts in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...ogenmod-13-0-nightlies-lg-g3-t3257951/page102

Nr. 1 of your link could work, but it´s the last method for me i will try because i have to open my g3 (de-virgin it)
Nr. 2 isn´t a option, look at point 4) Enter to Download Mode and plug USB into your PC -> Download Mode isn´t possible on my coma g3
I think this is the "easiest" solution (Click here) (based on your 1st links solution - but without opening the phone), but i´m not sure i have to donate for the files.
I´m still reading the tutorials and will report how it worked for me.
Hi there,
I just posted a how-to, as @omer323 said above. Glad to see there's a dedicated thread, instead of "polluting" CM13's one (even if it's CM13-related, I think).
The guide I wrote is there, we can discuss about it right here if needed.
If I can help, let me know

That was the hardest and longest thing i ever done with an android-phone but hey, it really worked, my g3 is alive :victory::victory:
Here are some "impressions":
My motherboard is a little bit different, but i tried it with the 2nd pin and it was magic! Look here
Disassembly the g3 was a little bit tricky-er as i thought, but i´ve done it, maybe some help for somebody to see the parts you can take off, see here: Parts 1
Parts 2
You have mentioned in your guide, that you´ll need a 3rd hand to plug in usb while pointing at gnd and the pin - in my opinion a 4th hand would be better - but i´ve created a "connector" to be able to fix it on ground and on the other side a needle, to be sure just to point just the pin2-solder-point, look here: SelfmadeConnector
Flashtool v1.8 didn´t worked for me (on Win10 64-bit), tried to flash instead .kdz with FlashTool2014 with success. Before that i had to lower the com-port to port 6 - i dont know why but it didn´t worked with port 41. for example com6
:fingers-crossed::good: I wish i could click on "Thank you" twice
One thing left:
I am rooted on stock with TWRP running but no IMEI. (IMEI: 0)
I´ve got an efs-backup of my g3, but no .img-file just folders with about 2GB Data in it - about ~20 .win and .md5 files.
Can i restore the imei and the other stuff i´ve lost through the wipe with this files or should i just restore the imei like mentioned in your guide? (What if I don’t have any EFS backup?)
Thanks for that guide and adventure

Those files you're talking about, how did you get them ? Using TWRP ? If so, just use the "restore" menu of TWRP and point to the directory where your files are stored. It should recognize the backup.
Happy to hear that you've been able to unbrick your phone

Thanks for that advice.
Yes i had these files from a TWRP-EFS-BACKUP, but i wasn´t able to point to something, the list in twrp/restore was just empty.
I moved the files in the TWRP Folder on Internal Storage and voilá it listed the Backup and i was able to restore everything: IMEI, MAC, ....
My G3 is right now not just back from coma, its like re-born :fingers-crossed:
Thank you mate!
This hasn't happened to me but just curious if it has been tested to skip the erasing EMMC part and just rewriting each partition with LG Board Diag?
Partitions to write would be:
PrimaryGPT
modem
aboot
rpm
tz
laf
recovery (I'd replace the stock recovery bin/img with a TWRP img file... this way you can just boot into TWRP after writing everything)
dbi
sbl1 (write sbl1 last if possible)
then boot into TWRP... flash the latest modem/rpm/tz combo required to CM 13... then flash CM 13, gapps, etc...
if you still get stuck at boot up... boot back into TWRP and hit the Wipe button > swipe slider to factory reset data.
I ask because I'm sure there are some who haven't backed up their EFS... this might be a way to avoid that? Of course.. depending on what parts of the emmc were messed up... it may be possible a full wipe is still needed like the guide above mentions. But any chance at avoiding that step would be ideal in my opinion.
maxauvy's guide worked perfectly for me!!

Last night I installed geefree on my phone from the app store and used it to install TWRP. I downloaded a nightly CM11 and an appropriate gapps. Using geefree I rebooted to recovery (never figured out the button combination to boot to recovery "naturally") and installed both of the zips. This could be where I made my mistake, I installed both at the same time.
Now my phone loops, displaying the LG logo for a few seconds, then shutting off and rebooting before repeating the process. I can't seem to get it to go into download mode or the recovery menu. I've tried power+up, power+down, down+up and each of those while plugging the device in, etc. I can get the device to a hardware key control mode, though it doesn't seem too useful.
How can I save my phone? This forum has been a great resource in the past and I'm very grateful for the many tutorials I've followed rooting other devices. Hopefully you guys can save the day once again!
Volume up plus power is how to access recovery on sprint.
What stock sw version were you on before you flashed cm?
Did you wipe data before flashing?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
I was using stock 4.2.2, I believe. I didn't wipe the data (shame on me), a bad habit that I picked up from my first rooted device, the Samsung Moment. It didn't ever matter on that one, afaik. Thanks for the reply!
Edit: Volume up and power whether plugged in or not takes me to the hardware key control mode screen.
Second Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476&page=35 I also found this thread where someone seems to be experiencing similar issues and they fix it with "LG Utility." Is that a PC application? It's a little vague to google, but I've been trying!
I have a bootloop issue every time i flash a rom i have to wipe all but sd flash roms and gapps the i do a restore from twrp and oly restore my boot image only and they boot no prob
I'm kind of starting to suspect my power button doesn't work at all for whatever reason. I have a lot of difficulty getting the phone to shut down, then it doesn't seem to easily power up. It's a strange collection of problems. Would a Sprint repair place be able to fix this?
If they have parts on hand if not either a swap out or a sendoff
Same problem here - bootloop and no download mode - CWM works! - urgently need help
I guess I have the same problem as InlineFourPower (apart from that my power-button has no problem).
I am stuck in bootloop since I tried to upgrade to Kitkat a few days ago. Now I can´t get into download mode any more, nor into fastboot or anything else. Only CWM works.
From within CWM I can successfully flash ROMs but that doesn´t help, since afterwards I am still stuck in bootloop. It is possible, however, to push files via adb-commands while I am in CWM.
Does anybody have an idea how to go from here or how to get download-mode back?
Device is recognized but can´t be mounted - bricked forever?

I tried a few things on Linux.
After terminal-command "ls /dev/sd*" when the device is unplugged from the computer I get "/dev/sda".
When the device is connected via USB, I get: "/dev/sda /dev/sdb"
So sdb is my LG G2.
So I went on to the next command: "gdisk -l /dev/sdb"
As a result I get: "Problem opening /dev/sdb for reading! Error is 123."
Does it mean that the phone isn´t mounted or what? Now I´ve connected my phone to another Linux machine with the same result. It is recognised (p.e. as sdd), but there is no sdd1. Seems as if it is recognized, but can´t be mounted. Does that mean my device is bricked for good? That´s it?
to get the phone into download mode you have to plug the usb cord in and hold VOL+, so to get this right as I have a case on mine, plug the usb into the phone first then hold VOL+ and plug into usb port on the computer.
it does take a loooong time to power down the phone with the button when stuck in a boot loop, just keep holding it until it shuts off, it will shut off eventually!!
plug the phone in while in download mode to install drivers and set com ports, then unplug before you begin your flash with LGFlashTool, hope this helps you out.

Thanks Cronic2009 for your advice.
There are, however, szenarios where download-mode is not accessible any more. Neither by using the hardware-keys, nor by using the adb-command.
After four days of resarch and a lot of trial and error, I finally unbricked my F320L using the two adb-commands outlined at the beginning of that thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
Worked like a charm.
Thanks everyone for your advice.
no problem buddy, glad you got it figured out, good luck to you from here on out!
FYI, that link doesn't work
I just wanted to ask anyone who might know, since the bootloader of the LS980 is locked, we cannot "break" this correct, so no matter what commands we decide to run through root, we cant touch the true bootloader there for LS980 fail safe? (Besides Acts of God, EMP, ect)

Thanks for letting me know. I corrected the link in my previous post.
Be sure if you use a aosp based rom to flash the ZV8 modem. Your can use dr87 or furnance kernals after you flash the zva modem althought i have encountered soft brick due to this.

After using tot and flash tool to get back to stock, did you try going into stock recovery and do a factory data reset? I know it sounds stupid especially after a tot but try it. Couldn't hurt

Borderline noob here, so please bear with me...
I have been using TWRP 2.7.0.0 to do all my work, and I was able to get the Lego ROM installed with ZVA. I got into too big of a hurry and forgot to make a backup of stock. I've also been unsuccessful in trying to install ZVC modem and firmware. Thankfully ZVA works as does the LEGO ROM, but I'd like to have stock there to access as well. The stockZVC that's on the Android Development page has been getting stuck (bootloop?) on the Sprint Spark logo. I've done TWRP's factory reset with no success. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance!
Yes sir I've tried that and more to no avail is there anything I can do through adb I'm on stock recovery phone doesn't stay on long enough to install anything

Question 5. I know it's hard to read before..i see things didn't changed around since i left. I see same lazy people, rushing into things before looking around....pffff....
Maybe U can help me too.
Everything was fine with my OG but problems start when installing CM11. I decided to go back to stock later (I did it) but then couldnt be able to enter recovery or download mode. I tried several methods like re root, unlock again and lately using ROM Manager and trying to install another recover all get screwed up. Only black screen. Trying and trying I could install KDZ firmware
So then I root, unlock boatloader with method one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667398
Ok i dont know if boatloader is unlocked now but i know I cant enter recovery or download mode. Im afraid to use freegee to try to unlock again.
What should I do.
Thanks

Well, i'll try to explain all to not get missunderstood.
My situation is, without the USB cable the celphone don't respond to any button press.
With USB cable, by the momment that i plug it, the screen shows the error message.
With the USB cable and in the error message screen, i can press the volume buttons +- and power, after that the phone restart and shows the download mode.
What i know so far is, if i can enter download mode, and here is your words, all is not lost.
Knowing that, all solutions i found on this site doesn't work with me. Or, what is possible, i didn't make it right.
The phone do not enter on recovery mode.
I gess this is all. For now
Thanks for the patience to teach who needs to be teached.

As I see, if i'm looking for the guide you are refering, of install the original rom, is the same one that i already tried and i got message error of extract file.
I deleted all lg stuff from computer, downloaded everything of the guide and the message is the same.
Any more suggestion ?
PS: I prefer english version , at least to read is easy to me.
Edit1:I wonder if the fact of my kdz file be bigger than 1gb causes that ?
Edit2: When i try the guide on this link the step 7 does not show to me, and my phone or some similar does not show on the Usb Controler list to install.
Thanks again

QUOTE=Fuguets;51799238]Well, i'll try to explain all to not get missunderstood.

I didnt see that on XDA. I used this method with 2 kdz´s, one smaller and another one bigger than 1gb.
Maybe U missed something.

Now I am really worried about that. I just can't acces the phone by any kind of way.
When i try the Unlock Botloader, it says that didn't found my device.
Now, after restart the computer, it says: The system cannot find the patch specified.
Is there no more options for me ?
The drivers I have downloaded here was automaticly updated from 8.0xx to 10.0xx, I unterstand this is a good thing, am I wrong ?
Could U flash KDZ using the method from htc mania?? (Im using it rigth now with 1.2GB KDZ firmware)
How did U come to that situation?

I did that, while i use the KDZ one minute after start unpacking the file, it shows the error message and finish the procces. I don't know if is that what you were asking.
When I tried the button Read Phone Information, it tells me Emergency Not Support Batt Level Check.
Is that the problem ?

What about my edit, where i found that someone said it solve the problem on 15%, do you think it could work ?
I just don't understant well, do I need to be able to start my phone rom ? Or i can do on my situation ?
Hello guys,
I am so happy that I wanted to share this with you. As I still have headache from googling how to flash back your stock rom (which didn't work out because the flash tool gave an error every time at 15%), I can save you a lot of headache with this very very simple fix.
For some people the tool works just fine, but when you have some google bootloader or a newer freegee unlocked one and you want back to stock, lots of people cant follow this thread because of the error at 15%.
The fix is EASY and I found it on the Optimus L9 section, thanks to that guy on XDA.
Follow exactly Davevinci's great thread except for one thing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2498102
Step 4 is now:
4.GO TO DOWNLOAD MODE POW+BOTH VOL BUTTON PRESSED+CONNECT USB
But step 4 should be:
- Boot up your phone in any stock based rom, for example SAVVY Rom V5
- Enable USB debugging and connect your phone through USB using the LG PC Suite option (make sure to kill PC suite in tast manager).
Now you should see the driver installation of LGE Android MTP device as usual and then just run the flash tool from the guide. Also de mode DIAG is now the right one. The flashtool will reboot your phone to download mode automatically when it's needed.
Still an error? Don't worry, disable virus scanner and firewall and just reconnect your phone. I got an error one time, during flashing, but I followed the steps the flashtool suggested me and now everything went fine.

The link U provide is not working and U didnt upload any log, I didnt see it.
As I read to perform that action u must be able to turn on your phone.
Did U try to flash a smaller then 1gb kdz or try another ones.
As U can see U wont receive to much help in LG forum. There are good guides but on time help is another thing.
Did U try this guide (method 1): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667398

I did not tried with a smaller archive because I can't download it. Among the Brazilian files I only can download the version 10D. I am on phone now but I will send the link that I'm trying asap. I really appreciate your help man. Even that I didn't found the solution yet is nice count with some experience help.
Enviado de meu XT1032 usando Tapatalk
Edit: From this list http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093382 , all brazilian links show Access Denied
And from here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=20, only the V10D of Brazil.
I'm looking for the number 16, CLR/CLARO(BRAZIL) which is less than 1GB. Maybe i'm wrong, but when i clic on the name, a page of TNY shows a link of ADFLY that after i clic on close advertisement nothing happen.
About the method 1, I did try that, but sometimes it says "device not found" or "the system cannot find the patch specified". I'll try that from another computer, i let you know if i have some lucky. But the guy of the guide said:
!enable usb debugging
connect as MTP
follow the script"
Maybe its not for me.
Look what happen. (I'm using download mode)

Hi All!
I've checked all similar threads but I haven't found any solution to my problem, hence this post.
I was trying to root Samsung Note 2 and install Cyanogenmod but rooting failed
The current problem:
1. Samsung Note 2 has ended up in a bootloop after failed rooting
2. I can't boot the phone in the Recovery Mode
3. The USB Debugging Mode was not activated
4. I can't turn on the phone
Description:
I was trying to root my friend's Samsung Note 2 using the following method from this website http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291827
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)

The problem is that by mistake I used a wrong CF-Auto-Root... file and instead of this file CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip which was designed for Samsung Note 2 I used a file which I was using before for my own phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip
Result 1: The rooting process got frozen and I had to disconnect the USB cable connecting the phone with the computer.
Result 2: Black screen, I couldn't boot the phone.
Next, I used the same rooting method but with the correct CF-Auto-Root... file.
Result 3: Bootloop. The phone boots up when I press the power button but when I see the first screen with a white "Samsung Note 2" on a black background, the phone reboots again and the process repeats itself for ever.
Result 4: I can't boot the phone in recovery mode. When I press the Volume Up+Power+Home buttons, the phone reboots and keeps rebooting instead of going into recovery mode.
Result 5: The USB Debugging Mode was not activated before rooting. Since I can't turn on the phone I can't activate the mode now. All solutions to my problem that I've seen require having USB Debugging Mode activated.
Could anyone help me and suggest what to do, please?
I don't know much about how mobile phone works but I can follow instructions if I know what to do.
I rooted my own mobile phone and installed Cyanogenmod successfully. I wanted to do the same with my friend's phone who was fed up with bloated and slow manufacturer's firmware.
I hope you can help me. Thank you.
I really don't know why so many users try to root before flashing a custom rom -> it is simply useless and as shown in this example dangerous, when a false root method or file is chosen.
You need:
1. Custom recovery, flash through ODIN, I think latest TWRP will do the job
2. Flash your desired custom rom through above recovery, (if needed: GApps also)
3. Flash SuperSu if needed (read in OP of that rom) done
If number 1 won't work, you got to flash firmware from sammobile first using ODIN
and then take steps 1, 2, 3

As I said, everything I mentioned before went fine but there is one problem. The system doesn't detect the network as if the SIM card wasn't inserted. I double checked everything and I have no idea what that is.
I installed CyanogenMod version 11-20140715-NIGHTLY-n7100 with android version4.4.4.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.
Many thanks!

The problem originated from the fact that my IMEI got lost somewhere during failed rooting/flashing. I've flashed with the stock firmware which retrieved my IMEI and the phone connected to the network as usual. After the phone was brought back to the fully operational state, I used CyanogenMod installer for Mac and I successfully installed CM, and it works like a dream.
I hope it will help. Good luck!

Just copy of my posts in another thread as this one is more relevant to my problem I think:
Good afternoon gents and girls, I have a bit strange problem wonder if anyone can get a bit of light on it. My Mrs's GT-7100 one day was stuck on boot up screen. I thought is was corrupt tried to do factory reset. Didn't work out read about is decided to flash it with a different official ROM for that installed twrp-3.0.2-0-t03g.img.tar and was trying to do a lot of different things within TWRP mode. As I'm not familiar with flashing process I guess didn't do it properly BUT! While doing it all over sudden I realised that the phone is actually working while connected to external power it shows charge and goes upto 100% but as as soon as it disconnected from main power source it starts to reboot constantly again stuck at the same boot screen again, till reconnected to power source again, then goes in to fool boot and functions properly making and receiving phone calls. The charge shown on the battery drops from 100% to 4-7% in a matter of the boot up time which is say 5-10 seconds.
Tested by multimeter battery shows 4.32V. I can't test battery under load, but will endeavor to do so by a test light. I have a bit strange problem wonder if anyone can get a bit of light on it.
So any thoughts?
I suspect the battery is not the issue. I have 2 external banks which are holding the charge to keep running Galaxy 3 8.0 up to 2-3 hours in use. Both of them are 5.2V 1A and having GT-7100 connected to them doesn't help to boot up the phone. Olso 5V 0,5A charger of Bluebery either, only Samsung 2A charger gets the GT-7100 back to fanctioning mode. When phone is booted up it shows

Hi everybody, is there any one who can give me a link of .tot modified file with hex editor, I flashed my phone (LS980) with wrong firmware (D802) and when I try to flash it with the right file wich is destined for LS980 the flash tool consider the phone as a D802 model, I tried all methods I found on XDA to restore my phone but nothing done, my phone still brick, and the only way to flash it now is to modify the .tot file with a hex editor soft, if there is someone who can give me a link to that file, or to show me the exact line to modify in the file and which hex soft to use it will be a great help for me.
Thank you in advance (Please try to give the help I demand, because I tried every methods)
Hello kakah2011, First of all i'd tell you to calm down its gonna be alright. secondly can you explain briefly the previous version of software you were running. Android version and the software version, if you could mention would be of great help. And did you flash D802 rom yourself, as if it were running LS980 previously or did you buy the phone already flashed with a fake D802 rom. I can guide and provide you on how to resolve the issue but first i need to make sure which partitions are flashed to your phones memory currently.
just relax. i had exactly the same issue and it got sorted out. My phone(hardware ls980) came with a fake 802 software on it. So i assumed its a 802 and flashed 802 roms on it till it completely got screwed up. the touch went crazy and the phone got into a auto restart loop.
I have the edited file, but i dont know how to give you a 2.5 gb file. Any ideas how it can be shared.
I edited the original file using flexhex. You just need to change the first instance of the word LS980 to D802. the trick here is that in hex editor format when we replace L with D , S with 8, 9 with 0, 8 with 2,0 we replace with a spacebar. The last parts a mistake. 0 should be replaced by a blank and not a spacebar. Copy a blank from nearby and insert it. or try a 00 value. I dont remember exactly what i did. but my mistake was that i was replacing the 0 with a space bar.
after the format, my phone stopped getting into the download mode. Instead i got stuck in some fastboot mode which was getting activated by using the volume up key while inserting the wire(before this, i was getting download mode in volume down+usb wire insertion). had to struggle a bit to get the phone back to download mode. I used something called adb tools to get this done. If you konw these tools, its just a 2 min job.
After that i reflashed the original tot file of ls980 and the phone started working great.

Thak you Mr, I think that the previous Firmware before I flash it was a LS980 (4.4.2 or 4.2.2), and I think that the version that I flashed the phone with is 16GB, and I can't use adb fastboot with PC to because it don't recorgnize the IMEI and the only way to restore it is the download mode (No Philz recovery) and I must notice that the screen is not normal (when I push it in an area it moves in another), I think that it's bricked for ever!!!!???

The .tot can only be flashed in download mode, on a serious note i'd suggest you here to give your phone to some expert it wouldn't cost you much. But if you'd like to follow.. download mode can easily be restored using the method in the link i just provided earlier. When you get into download mode only then your rom can be restored.. btw please follow as instructed cause if something wrong goes here eg flashing wrong image in fastboot or wiping all at once.. could lead the phone to hard brick and would cost you double as much later to get it fixed. My personal suggestion is to pay $15-30 for this operation and get it over with.. do you have any suitable repair shops in your area?

First I want to thank every one who helped me to restore my G2(especially Krunal Jain who shows me the first step which is the key), finally you've just to download the LAF file and flash it in order to get back download mode then you can flash the .tot firmware of the LS980.
The prbleme now is that there is no more adresse MAC when entering to Wifi settings, and also Cellular network, I guess that these two things need a lot of search to restore them !! Any suggestion??? THANK YOU GUYS

Hello brother
I fixed mine yesterday, i ll tell what to do
If you want to get access to download mode, just remove the buttons connector ,then that metalic plat that its glued in just to get access tothe ic chip and motherboard , of course to do this u need to takr off the baterry and all connectors, once u takr off yhe buttons reconnect every connwctor except the one of buttons and baterry
Thrn connect the the phone to the pc by using a usb (without baterry) then u need a liyyle screw driver or a wire to short the capacitor c5000 and c5004, keep trying till u heard thr pc detect new device named qhusb
Great , for that you need to download srk tool 2.1 just google it
Then selectfix utility then unbrick qhusb and select the correct drive
It will flash : haf, boot , aboot
Thats good for now ur download mode is back to life
Then for ls980 u need to install stock tot file (ls890zv7.tot) flash it with lg flash tool use manual mode u need a dll file (lgls980_20130904_lgflashv151.dll) download it on google... i ll send you links later hiw to do this,im using my phone
Once finished , ur phone is back to life but no signal
Easy ,just need to root. Then install twrp recovery
After that u need to install via recovery mode the (ls980stockuniversal to d802.zip)
And u re phone is getting signal and being fixed
edit: here the tutorial links that helps ya how to do everything
1- to get your phone alive ( to be detected as qusb_bulk)

2- this to fix the qusb issue & download mode back to life

I have a perfectly working rooted AFTV1 or rather had.
I had the clockworkmod rbox installed with bootmenu.
Today I decided to upgrade doing the usual adp push. The firmware installed but after boot couldn't connect to the internet.
Therefore I rebooted with the remote and the light went off and no display on the TV.
Now there is no white led indicator. I've tried the keyboard to do the recovery but since there is no led to show there is power I feel the firetv is gone. I've also tried an alternate adapter from another room but no luck.
Anything I can try? much appreciated. I also lost out on the prime day sale
I have the exact same problem. Did you find a solution?
It seems we blew the efuse in our units.
Maybe we can recover using a A-to-A USB cable. I have two of those from external hdd, maybe I can try, just need to find a guide for that.
I connected the AFTV to my computer using the A-to-A cable.
The computer shows a storage device with some files and the device manager shows a Marshall London HS-USB Diagnostics 9006 port.
Any suggestions? ADB and fastboot do not work. There is no device connected
Same thing after sending that sequence alt pntscn i too many times. Now no light and comes up as an f drive with a a cable. ..we are screwed.

It is probably possible to write to the unit using EMMCRaw. I tried to do it but screwed something up and now I can't even see the flash drive.
My idea is to download a full bin file for the AFTV, extract it using 7-zip and flash the separate boot, sbl, and other files using EMMCRaw.
I was almost there but manage to flash the full bin file in each category and now it is fully bricked, I can't see the flash drive anymore.

I flash the full bin instead of the right files in each section in EMMCraw
You probably should extract the full bin and check the name of the files. You will see they match the categories inside EMMCraw. I read another post explaining the software, saying that you should read the categories first and then flash each file to each category.
I took some risk, but my AFTV was "dead" already so I went ahead.
My opinion is that you should flash BOOT, ABOOT and recovery and hope to get access to ADB and proceed with the already writen guides to flash and unlock the AFTV

Are there any instructions on how to recover. Is this the efuse mess? has anyone been able to recover it from this state. No lights.. I have two dead boxes now
Looks like I am in the same boat. Pretty much the same experience. Went to update it with the pre-rooted img. Already had the boot menu etc. Did the update, rebooted and noticed I had no root (and no wifi it seems but I didn't check this in the settings).
Went to install the bueller-fixsusdcard.zip, rebooted to recovery and nothing, no logo, no LED. Plugged in via USB-A and like others I got a drive popped up.
Loaded up eMMC RAW 1.2.1.0 found online. I tried "writing" boot and recovery (boot.img from the pre-rooted rom, and recovery from CWM) and it made no difference. Not sure if I was doing it wrong or not though.
This is how I would do it:
Basically I would click browse below "write" and select the boot.img from my pre-rooted update.
I would then "read partition structure" and select only boot
Select the "boot" preset
Select "write"
I did this for both recovery & boot (with the correct selections). I restart and nothing is different. Where is the "aboot.img" file? I tried boot.img and boot_unlocked.img and no difference.
Any guidance would be great.

Why would you need eMMC RAW 1.2.1.0? Are there any instructions you are following.? I have two of these broken ones?
In the same boat...
Hi all,
I'm in the same boat as the rest. I actually posted in Rbox's thread last night asking for help.
Like everyone, I had CWM, unlocked bootloader, bootmenu, prerooted roms.... after successful install of latest rom, could not load Home screen so I soft rebooted from the Settings menu.
After the reboot, bricked.
I don't have any Linux experience, and attaching to my Windows computer, I see the drive with a single folder.
I'll monitor here, but I think I'm SOL. So looking for a new android box. Ugh.
Thanks for any help.

You should had asked questions before you did it, from what I understand from your post you installed last rooted OS5 image using CWM (OS3) without installing TWRP first even so tread specify the whole procedure on how to get there:

I think you're correct bula. the issue probably is for those many of us who used the guides on aftvnews.com, he doesn't mention twrp in the series of steps to perform the latest os update. i only had clockwork, not twrp.
many thanks to anyone who can provide assistance to those of us who are bricked.

Hi Bula,
If you google "amazon Fire TV custom rom" first website you get is aftvnews. I believe I used his guild to root my ATV 2 years ago.
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-install-a-custom-rom-image-on-the-amazon-fire-tv/
He does list a good amount of procedures on the site.
CWM
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-install-clockworkmod-custom-recovery-on-the-amazon-fire-tv/
Steps on how to install Rbox Boot Menu
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-install-a-kernel-boot-menu-on-the-amazon-fire-tv/
BusyBox, ADB, how to verify hash, ect...
I do not have TWRP on my box which seems probably the reason why it bricked following this guide.
~E
Fair enough but none of these posts mention anything regarding OS5, they are old posts that apply to OS3 only. I know this site very well ano you should had looked for latest guides on how to update to OS5 . Info was there.
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-install-twrp-custom-recovery-on-a-rooted-fire-tv-1/
My FireTV bricked and I had installed TWRP 3.0.0-7 and 5.2.1.1_r1 successfully. I was up and running for 15 minutes, installed Kodi via adb and took a quick break after receiving notification that the app installed successfully. I come back and notice that my WiFi is dropping out on the FireTV so I unplug the power to hard reset it. I plug the power back in and now I get no video or light.
I have two FireTV's, I followed the same process for both and the first one I updated is still working flawlessly. Not sure what happened to the 2nd one.
Please help. Killed my Firetv (AFTV1)

Hi, same problem here :crying:. I read the guides and bricked it by mistake. My aftv was rooted, fully unlocked and with CWM. I downloaded the needed pre-rooted roms and also TWRP. Yesterday I installed all the stuff following the guides, however, at the end my aftv stopped showing the colorful amazonfiretv logo animation. So I removed TWRP and installed CWM again, wanted to start from scratch. Probably I mixed-up the different rom files while renaming to rom.zip, I don't know, but it seems I pushed the newest via adp and installed it with CMW. The firetv was working and I saw the 5.2 was installed, damn! I knew about my mistake then.
After restart: NO BOOTING - NOT LOGO - NO WHITE LED :crying:.
So, same problem here, any idea how to bring it to life again?
Same here, installed latest rom (bueller-5.2.4.1-rooted_r1) with TWRP, was working fine until I tried Netflix, it didn't start up so I booted -> after that no white led, no power.....
Any update? It sounds like the efuse incident (wrong bootloader/ROM match up), but mine was not detected by PC using A-A cable. I'm sure the PC works with this AFTV and cable is good (used these to fastboot unbrick this ftv right before it went dead).
