How To Play GBC Games On Android
I remember when GBC was on the cutting edge of technology. I got one for Christmas one year. It was the same year that my Father told me Santa had died in a horrible sleigh accident. The only thing that could take my mind off of it was immersing myself in the colorful worlds of GBC. Every once in a while I like to load up some old GBC ROMs on my Android and relive some of those memories. If you haven't tried this yet, you're really missing out! I'll show you how you can play GBC games using an emulator on your Android.

John GBC Lite is a very straight forward app. It has all the basics you need to run your games, without all the bells and whistles of some of the more bloated apps. That's why this app is one of the most popular GBC emulators. It's free to use with the option of purchasing it to get rid of the ads.

Once you launch your emulator app, you will navigate to the game ROM file which will be saved as a .zip. Then your game will launch and you can enjoy playing it using your fingers and eyes!
Don't worry about filling up your storage by downloading a bunch of games. The files are so small that you'd have no problem saving as many as you want to your device.

apparently this works on the Omnia 2, but when I try it with my HD2, the keypad application does not seem to work
we seriously need something like that.. I wish I could help with this, but my programing skill are really bad
did any of you guys try this before?? any ideas for similar program or developing something similar??
Exactly what I'd love to see added to WVGAFIX... Something very usefull on new devices with wide screens.
Since Windows Mobile is basically Windows CE it seems quite possible for an app (like WVGAFIX) to wrap another "child" app (like a game) and run it in as if inside a "window" (the part running the game) contained inside. The "mother" app would show the "child" app and the controls. I'm no coder but it sounds doable (but then again it may just be my lack of knowledge). Seems to me as a most deriable improvement for WVGAFIX.
Here was one of my ideas for a combo of onscreen controls and hw buttons in wide screen devices (check the pic in that post).
MorphGear could be a good starting point (flexible and open source). And who knows... Maybe it would grab some attention back into it and stimulate devs to update or develop new emulator modules.
Here, here and here are some onscreen d-pad apps (but if your app only runs in a non wide resolution you can see how they are not the best alternative...).
And alternatively there are some g-sensor dpad like controllers here and here.
Yet none seems quite complete.
Hello, I've been looking for a way to do this for months but haven't had any success, so I decided to finally post my question here.
The PSP has a homebrew app called PSPdisp , that could remote to a PC in real-time, lag free. http://www.jjs.at/software/pspdisp.html
Is there any way to get something like this in android where we can view and control our games from the EVO without lag or stutter? I'm sure we have the speeds to do it Evo's 4G speeds are about 8Mbps on average (in my area), and my home connection is 16Mbps
This would be great for playing emus not available or not capable of running on android.
I don't know how hard this is to accomplish, looks like a very fast vnc server to me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q1b1iNgl8M
Wow...No replies? I should have put more interesting words in the topic...
You're referring to like cloud gaming; ex beaming/streaming wii, Xbox, computer, games on the evo via internet? I'm trying to understand here. I don't believe there's nothing out just yet for the evo you might be tad bit ahead of technology my friend lol.
Not exactly mobile cloud gaming, even though we aren't too far from that either (see Onlive)
Something more like StreamMyGame, I want to have my PC running a emu, lets say dolphin running Legend of Zelda WindWaker, while VNC'ing (if thats a word) to it over the great interntz to the SuperSonic or Xoom. You know it just streaming video to me and me sending it commands with every button press.
Heres a vid on some of its features http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZd3hADOqSw&feature=player_embedded
I'd even be willing to commission or "donate" to someone to port the homebrew app to android if its allowed on these forums. The source is available.
Ohhh that's sick. Maybe if you post it here you'll get more attention vs just in the evo forums. So many devs float around these main apps forum.

@Chainfire
I'm sure some of you have heard about this magic app
In few words:
Chainfire 3D was created for users with weaker phones to run some of the new games. It may reduce texture size, emulate some buffers that are not compatible with older GPUs etc... Sometimes it works, sometimes not, as it's in Android world
As booth HOV wariants are now S-OFF, we can play with CF3D. I know that it's written, that it may not work on ICS/JB in original thread, but I've manage to install and set up it without any problems...
I've tested it with Assasin's Creed Pirates. When I've downloaded and installed AC Pirates, it won't work - I was kicked out to homescreen. But when I've run it through CF3D with checked "Reduce textures size", "Reduce texture quality" and "Disable BGRA emulation", I've managed to get through loading screen, video, go to options, turn of sound, hit play button and get to the end of the loading and... FC, due to HOV's weak hardware
But it shows that CF3D is finally working on HOV I think it may work with a bit older games like Modern Combat 3, Modern Combat 4, N.O.V.A. 3, Aphalt 7, 8 and some others tittles
Good luck mates
What about other games? Since I don't S-Off my phone yet and I will if this app really works.

I've tested AC Pirates only for now... It will be easier to test if I only manage to set up reversre USB tethering on my Live USB Mint 15
Did anyone test any other game ?
And is it mandatory to be on S Off to use Chainfire 3D ?
Compatible

If you're reading this thread then I'm already dead. I have a new mission for you. There are secret emulators being distributed that can emulate old 007 games from the PlayStation 1. Classics like "Tomorrow Never Dies" and "The World Is Not Enough" are now relevant again with the ability to play them on your phone or tablet. Your mission is to follow these instructions carefully so you too can run your old PS1 games again. Good luck loser.
///Please only load games that you have previously purchased. Don't be a thief and pirate anything that you shouldn't. There's no posting bail in guantanamo bay.///
Best EmulatorsePSXe
You may already be familiar with ePSXe because it has existed as a PC application for quite some time. This app has a crap ton of features like split screen mode, virtual touchscreen pad support, hardware buttons mapping and analog sticks. If you want to use your own controller, ePSXe is compatible with most Android Bluetooth an USB controllers.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epsxe.ePSXe
FPse
FPse has the smoothest performance when emulating your games. The best feature about this app is that you can play multiplayer with four of your favorite chaps using their phones as controllers while a separate devices acts as your screen.
Aside from this, the app comes with more features than you’ll ever need. Some really cool ones are Google Cardboard support, cheat code search engine, force feedback and compatibility with basically every controller under the sun.

ClassicBoy
ClassicBoy is actually an emulator for 8 different systems. If you’re planning on playing other games in addition to you PS1 stuff, then you’ll probably end up getting this one. Unlike the previous two options, ClassicBoy is free with some in-app purchases.
This emulator will work with your PS1, N64, GBA, GB, GBC, NES, Sega Genesis and SNK NeoGeo games. It is one of the most popular emulators with over 1,000,000 downloads.

PS1 ROMs
The PS1 was around during the height of the 007 gaming frenzy. Because of this, some of the most memorable and best games were 007 games. You'll also find a bunch of classics like Mario Brothers, Crash Bandicoot and Yu-Gi-Oh! You can find plenty of ROM sites to download your favorite games. Just don't break the law and pirate anything illegally!
Alright agent, you're ready for your first mission. If everything is good to go, you should be able to begin your mission right away.
Well your right and i like fpse more then pther emulator good job.
