Possible to flash AT&T HTC One M9 to use on T-Mobile? - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The AT&T version already supports most of the frequencies/bands used on T-Mobile.
As I understand it, the AT&T version is missing AWS support for 3G/3.5G and VoLTE support on band 4 and 12.
Is it possible to flash the AT&T version with the T-Mobile radio so that it can be used on T-Mobile without any issues?
PS: I would also plan to flash custom developer edition ROMs. As I understand it is possible to flash the AT&T version to accept those. Is that correct?

To convert your AT&T M9 to Developer Edition go here

But if you're S-Off then yes you can flash a Tmobile radio but I'd do a nandroid backup first

Couple of quick questions:
1. Can I go S-OFF with any M9?
2. Does flashing the radio actually change the bands and VoLTE?
I haven't bought it yet and want to figure this out before I pull the trigger.

AT&T M9 I know you can S-Off via Sunshine. Idk about any M9 but the website will tell what M9's are supported.
Idk what the flashing the T-Mobile radio actually does but should get better reception.

If you have not purchased it yet, Get the T-mobile version and everything will work for sure.

Awesome. Why didn't I think of this?

[Q] Model Number For Flashes?

I have had the HTC One M8 for AT&T For 3 days and already rooted it (couldn't handle not being rooted).
I bootloader unlocked, and i have a recovery name as [openrecovery-twrp-m8.img]
all roms for this phone is in that codename , just m8.
not CA_UL_ETC ETC
I don't know what the model number is and what not to flash now.
Is every HTC M8 the same? Can you flash any ROM file to this phone?
I have no S-OFF yet. Not even kernel.
Please let me know, my last HTC Phone was the OneXL.
Sprint and Verizon are odd, but GSM phones are mostly all compatible.

As @BenPope said check the ROM thread for this. Some ROMs require a specific FW, so sometime it has to be updated before you can use a custom ROM without running into any issues. To flash a firmware you have to be S-Off of course.

convert T-Mobile to International

Hi, is there anyway I can convert a Galaxy S6 Edge from T-Mobile to International variant? I used to own a HTC One and I could simply change the CID and MID to be able to install different ROMs and firmwares form other Htc One variants.

I routinely used International Roms on my Tmob S5 no issues. Simply root then flash whatever. The Tmob variant used the Qualcomm processor so one had to just make sure they flashed the correct International version, which as far as Tmob goes, was the KLTE International model.

Never really a good idea here on XDA asking "What is the best ROM". It is so early in the game right now I would just watch the Forum posts here and on the XDA International site for ROMs as they come out from various developers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general
Here is a link to the general section for the Samsung galaxy S6 which references the International site. Plus I have no clue at this time if they will be mixing and matching S6 vs S6 Edge Roms, just because the Edge obviously will have a few more capabilities. Again, this is way too early in the game to be even thinking about a 'best Rom"
Also interested to know if it can be converted to international so I can get international updates instead of waiting for Tmobile to push it out. Flashing roms is a no-brainer. Now that all S phones have the same hardware, I'm interested in straight conversion like HTC phone(s) are able to do.

.
if I understood correctly , I have G920T (from T-Mobile US), I'll be able to upload the firmware of an international G920F. Settings of LTE will change just as it has a model F ?
What about the wifi calling? You would lose this with the international rom wouldn't you? I had actually been thinking about getting the international (for the green that us disenfranchised Yanks don't get) and then putting tmo software on it.
Considering we have TWRP it should be a matter of time until we are running international roms. If I wasn't going to work I would be flashing it now

I'm wondering if I should attempt to flash an international rom. We do have twrp of course and if anything weird happens it is an odin fix away granted.
I guess I'll be intrepid and try it out. I sort of need to have an int'l rom because I also need to sim unlock the device

Is there a particular forum for the htc m9 dev edition?

I've been stuck on the verizon s3 for a couple of years and I finally bought a new phone. Naturally I had to get the developers edition of the HTC One m9. So I am wondering if their is a specific forum for our phones? Or do I just flash a rom according to whatever SIM card I'm using that day?
Also even though it was purchased as a developers edition, can flashing the wrong kernal get me stuck with a locked bootloader again?

Your in the right forums for your Developer Edition M9, Are you still with Verizon ?
I have a bit of a repository for the DE stuff here >> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=28823
Any of the Roms in the Developer forums will work fine on your phone, I have tried Leedroid / ViperOneM9 / Stock with Goodies / and ARHD
with no problems.
I would be interested in knowing how you can get Verizon to work on a GSM phone if that is the case.

Awesome, thanks for the link!
I am still with verizon! tried the vzw sim to no avail and so far my m9 is just looking pretty. am still using my vzw s3 with no power button. I may go out today and get a t-mobile Sim card. I am definately dragging my feet because verizon does have the best coverage. But I will also find out if I SIM unlocked the s3. After the power button broke I went crazy with a few dialer code apps and I got to a point where I could manually input APN's. If that's the case I may invest a few bucks to have it fixed.
I was looking at you nicely organized repository and noticed you had a copy of the stock recovery. May I ask what you used to back it up?

Can you rephrase your question? I'm not sure what you're asking.
If you are asking about the 1.40.xx than as far as I know it is firmware for the international version. However you can flash it in Order to run some custom roms. I'm currently using it on my dev edition in order to run viper one.

Convert HTC 10 to US unlocked

Credit goes all to gooface I'm just repeating as a thread as its lost in another thread
Let's only leave this as GSM only
Follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/guide-root-optionally-s-off-radio-t3373025
then change your CID to BS_US001
fastboot oem writecid BS_US001
then install this: http://dl3.htc.com.s3.amazonaws.com...WL_M60_SENSE80GP_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.80.617.1.exe
after all that you have to reinstall TWRP and then reinstall the Superuser from that first guide. (if you want root)
I did it to get rid of the tmobile stuff and to get the latest firmware updates faster than what tmobile will release them at. That and Tmobile is already behind the official updates by 2 releases.
Everything still works (VoLTE and wifi calling)

I haven't done anything yet (I got my phone at the T-Mobile store at 10am May 18th) but I did sign up for Sling at the $13.99 a month T-Mobile customers discounted monthly price.
