Hi, i've tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765 but the program fails to uncompress these files. don't know why either.
Hi first make sure you are on 11A download again the file http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed/lg_g4/lef/vs98611a.tar.gz and try to uncompress with winrar.
well the latest is 13b, so make sure you get the correct img file first. I was on 13 and flashed 11...then had to KDZ. Pretty simple process though!

I am having a helluva time getting the .exe to extract. Keeps saying damaged or unknown file format.
RUU_Supersonic_1.32.651.1_Radio_1.39.00.04.26_release_171253
Need it because the regular way to update and unroot is not working for me, and need to just flash from the recovery menu. Any help would be appreciated.
Tried 7zip and winrar

try this.
goto your temp folder.
ex. win 7: C:\Users\CYBERxNUKE\AppData\Local\Temp
and make sure all your programs are closed and delete all your temp files.
Run the RUU program, and once its up and running on your screen, go back to your temp folder....
C:\Users\CYBERxNUKE\AppData\Local\Temp
look for a new folder created there.
without closing the RUU, copy the entire folder over to a safe place and exit the RUU.
you should have what you need.

Hi, I am new to Android and rooting and I am attempting to root my Galaxy S3 and I have been following mr.Robinsons guide. However I can't manage to get the .tar file I need. I download the AT&T RAR, extract it and see 10 or so files with Recovery images, boot image, mbn files..etc.
Why is this happening?
Anyone aware of what to do?

I reread his guide, just to be sure I got my instructions correct. You should have downloaded a .7z file. Extract that and now you have a .tar file. Do not extract it. Open up Odin, click on pda, and point it to the tar file.
in order to create a flashable bootloader.zip we need to be able to extract the bootloader-flo-flo.4.04.img file all the img utilities I tried to unpack that file give a bunch or errors
can anyone see if they are able to unpack that file with imgtool or imgRePackerRK or other?
If anyone can try and unpack the bootloader-flo-flo.4.04.img file I am not sure why I keep getting bad file descriptor errors when trying to unpack it using imgtool
with that unpacked it should be easy to make a flashable bootloader, and there are a bunch of people all over that need this that either do not have access to a machine or like myself the USB port is not working at all on the device.
I second this!
Please!
Pleeeeeease!!!!
OPO Yeauh!!!
Agreed! I currently donr have a computer so i cant update rhe bootloader
The recovery flashable bootloader can now be downloaded from the link posted in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...shable-factory-image-zips-android-5-t2939599/
Be sure to thank @eksasol I bugged him so much I feel really bad now, awesome work!
Hey Guys,
I did a stupid, and yes, I should know better, but I did not take a backup of my build.prop of my freshly rooted d852 when I edited it in Root Browser. It truncated, and lost the bottom part of the file before I noticed, and long story short, I'm missing some system sounds, and would like to know if anyone has a working d852 build.prop for a Rogers G3 Stock 4.4.2.
I downloaded the TOT file from a link in the help FAQ, and tried flashing using LG Flash tool, but it would get to a certain point, and Fail, not being able to switch to download mode, so I was not able to reflash to complete stock for whatever reason.
I'm now toying around with LG TOT Extractor, seeing if I can extract the ext4 FS files, and get a build.prop from there,
Any pointers?
Thanks
Everett
Did you try flash tool on windows 8? I Had a issue on windows 8 wich gave me the same error.
Download KDZ (http://lg-firmware-rom.com/)
Extract KDZ using this tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575)
Merge system.bin using the same tool
Extract build.prop by opening system.img using Diskinternals Linux Reader
And next time use this app instead of the stupid stock lg flash tool that requires tot files

Ok, So to start I have a .tot & .dll copy of the original stock firmware of my D852, this firmware is only flashable using LG Flash Tools.
I would like to take this firmware and extract the contents and replace the modem THEN I want to make this rom into a TWRP flashable .zip format.
So my 2 questions are:
1. How can I make my .tot & .dll version of my stock rom into a TWRP flashable .zip format??
2. After extracting the firmware and replacing the modem do I need to put the rom back into a .tot & .dll file format before I turn it into a TWRP flashable .zip?? or do I zip or convert the already extracted files before I make them into a .zip??
EDIT: I got it all figured out, I don't need any help anymore.
