How To Play GBA Games On Android - Game Ports and Emulators

How To Play GBA Games On Android
Mobile gaming was so different back in the day. Remember how you had to bring a case with you everywhere you went that was full of Game Boy cartridges? What a nightmare. But you know, as much of a hassle as it was, there are many Game Boy games that still hold a special place in my nipples. I'm not about to start carrying a Game Boy around with me again, but I can enjoy my favorite childhood games by running an emulator on my Android device. It's surprisingly simple to do and if you'd like to give it a try just read through this quick guide
///Please only load games that you have previously purchased. Don't be a thief and pirate anything that you shouldn't. There's no posting bail in guantanamo bay.///

This emulator has a great virtual joypad that's just a tad easier to use than the other emulators. You'll also get save game support and auto save with you close out of the app.

GBA ROMsWhen it comes to ROMs, there are plenty of different websites that offer tons of free ROMs. Just keep in mind the disclaimer at the top of the thread. To load a ROM into your emulator, just download the file to your phone. Launch the emulator app and select the file that you've downloaded. Make sure you're getting your ROMs legally and that you have purchased them in the past.

So get started with loading some of your favorite GBA games on your Android device. It only takes about a minute to get everything going.

On my S2 is working without chainfire or something.
I'm not sure if I should buy it... I'd like to read some review first...
now works like a charm on my phone with chainfire3D
What?Why need chainfire? It's for GT-I9100?
Is working without chainfire. I'm playing on my S2.
on my phone not working without chainfire :/
CHECK your device, some work and some not work. That must be cause by different GPU unit. Are you using GT-I9100G or GT-i9100?
Great game, and impressive graphics. I'd recommend it. Top Notch!

Working fine on my UK i9100. Great game, awesome graphics. My phone doesn't even get that hot whilst playing. Asphalt 6 used to make the phone really hot.
Good work EA.

Is the game smooth? Do you have any drop frames?
It's probably a great game.
However, I'll not buy another EA Mobile game again.
Consider Need for Speed Shift fiasco last year. EA Games held a big 0.99$ sale for the likes of Need For Speed Shift, Tetris and The Sims... Soon after, they rejigged the acceptable devices via an update, meaning that many customers couldn't re-download. Soon afterwards, they relaunched the game ... Rather than not rant, suggest prospective purchasers use google (including Market User Ratings) for these games and understand that in the past customers who purchased have been left unable to play. Buyer beware, and all that....
According to EA $6.99 is 7.70CHF...not a huge deal in itself but percentage-wise it's pretty high compared to what it should be.
v1.0.47 and 1.0.48 works on the S2 without the need for chainfire 3D.. i find this game more "arcadey" than shift though..
and gameloft should learn a thing or two from ea on how to make beautiful game without the bloating filesizes..

im not interested
After I get my Arc S I'm thinking of buying one.
did you tried it?
IMHO the make or break feature will be whether or not games can 'see' this controller as an Xperia Play pad. I know some games developers are now supporting some USB gamepads, but compared with the optimized Play titles these will always be relatively few and far between.
Fructel have taken the approach of contacting games developers and asking them to support their pad. In my view, this is a mistake (unless of course the Gametel REALLY takes off, and there are as many out there as Xperia Play owners). What they should have done is taken the Play's controller interface as a de-facto standard, and simply made theirs compatible with it. I'm still hoping this might become possible with 3rd party tools.
Anyone tried this?? Its still only available in UK !!!

Less known games and new games

I know that some of you probably are bored with some games which are currently trend on market such as Dead Trigger, Most Wanted, etc. and don't know what to play anymore. I found some pretty fun games which aren't that popular but are actually pretty fun to play. All games I linked are totally free.
Magic Wingdom - nice refreshment, something totally new.

I love tennis and tennis games. Actually the only game I play on my laptop since the past 6 months or so to spend some free time is Virtua Tennis 4.
I never knew that a mobile version existed too. I was too tempted and although overpriced, I just went ahead and purchased it. Loving the graphics, it looks exactly like the PC version on a small screen.
Little difficult to get hold of it. The controls are little confusing as often my player just ends up running somewhere uncalled for. I hope I'll get used to the gameplay soon.
Thanks for suggesting this wonderful game.

Best PS1 Emulators

Best PS1 Emulators
Sometimes you’ve just got to revisit the classics. There’s nothing quite like exploring the nostalgic memories of your youth like watching old TV shows, playing old games, eating candies and being really really sad. That’s probably the part that sticks out the most to me. I was so sad. One thing that always brightened up my day was when I fired up my secret PS1 that I stole from my neighbor. The images from the classic games are burned into my mind like my Dad’s cigarettes are burned into my neck.
While my PS1 Has long been dead, I can still enjoy my favorite PS1 games on my Android device using an emulator. When searching on the Google Play store, you’ll find hundreds of different options when it comes to emulators. You can skip searching around because I’ve put together the best PS1 emulators in the entire world.
ePSXe
You may already be familiar with ePSXe because it has existed as a PC application for quite some time. This app has a crap ton of features like split screen mode, virtual touchscreen pad support, hardware buttons mapping and analog sticks. If you want to use your own controller, ePSXe is compatible with most Android Bluetooth an USB controllers.

FPse
FPse has the smoothest performance when emulating your games. The best feature about this app is that you can play multiplayer with four of your favorite chaps using their phones as controllers while a separate devices acts as your screen.
Aside from this, the app comes with more features than you’ll ever need. Some really cool ones are Google Cardboard support, cheat code search engine, force feedback and compatibility with basically every controller under the sun.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emulator.fpse
ClassicBoy
ClassicBoy is actually an emulator for 8 different systems. If you’re planning on playing other games in addition to you PS1 stuff, then you’ll probably end up getting this one. Unlike the previous two options, ClassicBoy is free with some in-app purchases.
This emulator will work with your PS1, N64, GBA, GB, GBC, NES, Sega Genesis and SNK NeoGeo games. It is one of the most popular emulators with over 1,000,000 downloads.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.portableandroid.classicboyLite
Did I miss anything? Comment which emulator your use for your PS1 games.
Requirements
Maybe you should detail the requirements. I doubt I can play PS1 with my old S8500

I'm going to be completely honest here. I have never played anything on an NES... hell I've never even seen an NES. You see, my parents had strict rules about video games in my house. We weren't allowed to have any gaming consoles because Satan used them as vessels to possess young children and turn them away from God.
This makes sense, but sometimes I do get a bit curious about what I missed out on as a kid. I'm not curious enough to buy an NES on ebay but I can load some games on my Android using an NES ROM. It's very easy to do and it's a great way to play some old games. I'll show you how.
///Please only load games that you have previously purchased. Don't be a thief and pirate anything that you shouldn't. There's no posting bail in guantanamo bay.///
Best EmulatorsNES Emulator - 64In1
NES Emulator is great because it comes preloaded with 64 of the best classic NES games. If you're just wanting to play that game with the jumping pizza maker guy, you can skip having to load in external ROMs and just play the preloaded games.
Download NES Emulator - 64In1 From Play store
Nostalgia.NES
Nostalgia.NES is the best emulator that I've found to run your local ROMs. When you launch the app it will quickly search your device for compatible games. You will see a list of the games you have on your phone and all you have to do is select one to start playing. It's a very fast and stable emulator.
Download Nostalgia.NES From Play store
NES ROMsNES ROMS are what you'll be looking for to load your favorite games into an emulator. These ROMs are tiny in size so they wont take up much space on your device. There are several different websites to find these game files but just make sure that you're downloading them legally..
