Rebooting constantly and incorrect battery percentage - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, so for the past few weeks my G3 has been rebooting randomly, at first it was just once or twice a day. But now it's at the point that I can't use my phone anymore, it's CONSTANTLY rebooting. People suggested a battery issue, so I've changed my battery but the issue came back a week later. These reboots started around the time I flashed a thermal mod provided on XDA forums but I've flashed back to stock countless times, I've performed hard resets, factory resets and changing my charger but nothing seems to work.
I've also noticed a new issue today, my phone will show 54% battery life, then suddenly die. When I turn it back on it'll show 3%. If I charge it, it'll go from 3% to 100% in less than an hour which is quite impossible. But after a reboot, the battery will show something around 5-10% again. I really have no clue what todo or what the issue can be. Please help!
I'm currentled running Android 4.0.4 stock, non-rooted and barely any apps or bloatware (Just whatsapp, messenger and snapchat)

I have had the same problem as yours, i got a new battery and all good since. Maby you got a new faulty battery. Is it oem?

Exactly the same issue but I've tried a new battery yet

I ve got same problem then i replaced battery and since then it happened like 3 times (i was pretty mad!) but since then it works great...

[Q] Syndicate Frozen Full 1.1.0 Battery Reboot

Has anyone else noticed this. I will be using my phone and toward the end of the day it has about 40% left. It has that much since I usually leave the data network off unless I need it. I reboot it and it now says it is very low on battery I lose basically 35%. Any help appreciated other than don't turn off/reboot my phone until it is time to charge it overnight.
It's an extremely well known issue, that (so far) has no solution.
Does it happen with the other vesion of the syindicate rom non full?
Happened to me when I would reboot with the stock rom.
I just assumed it takes a lot of power to turn on and off.
Been an issue for me since day one. Hell it just happened to me awhile ago. I rebooted the phone with 46 percent battery than once rebooted showed 6 percent. Kinda gotten used to it but like stated above its an issue that apparently has no solution. Especially when flashing something through clockwork, it really drains the battery fast. Been an issue for me since 2.1 and all roms I have tried. Pretty sure its a hardware thing.

Have not tried yet but does it happen if you shutdown then power back on instead of using reboot option

rebooting the phone is not going to use upwards of 30% of your battery, nor would flashing a ROM. If that were the case, your phone would heat up to ridiculous levels and your battery would probably explode with that kind of output
The problem is most likely coming from miscalculation of the true battery level (which has been well documented in other threads on xda), which is rechecked during the boot process, and corrected. I've noticed that if my phone has gone long periods of time without a reboot, that this behavior happens. If you reboot your phone once every few days, it rarely happens, and if so, it's not nearly as drastic of a drop.

[Q] Battery drain...whoa

So i'm currently running CM7 on my incredible. I have been running it for a little over a month with no battery problems. Just recently the battery has been draining crazy fast. I'm saying losing 1% every minute. At first I thought it was my battery so I took the battery from my wife's Dinc to try her's as she has absolutely no battery problems at all. It drained the battery 8% in a matter of 5 minutes!!!
I left my phone on and had it charging all night and in the morning it was still at only 78% charged.
Is there a fix to this? Ideas?
Thanks for the help!
I'm surprised that it wouldn't fully charge over night! Seems like it only takes an hour or two to fully charge my phone (stock battery, cm7, incredikernel). I'd recommend a different kernel that has fast charge at least, might also help your battery life too. Chad's incredikernel or invisiblek are my favorites, both charge very quickly.

Charge your phone until it won't anymore while turned on. Then turn it off and keep charging until the light goes green. Then unplug it, and plug it back in until it goes green again. Then boot into recovery and go to Advanced -> Wipe Battery Stats. Reboot your phone and let the battery drain to 0% (don't plug it in at all until it's at 0%, it's relearning all the charge points and whatnot). Then plug it in and charge it all the way up again.
I hope this solves your problem!
What's your CPU utilization look like? If something is pegging your processor, the battery will run down pretty fast.

that's really weird. I got great BL on cm7. And I get comparable with a sense 2.1/3.0 rom which makes me very happy. I have a 1500mah battery, but I just got it recently and I got great BL with stock. But it's great because it came with 2 bats and a bat charger, so I just keep one on the charger and if I run low for whatever reason, I just swap the battery. And unlike a lot of battery chargers, when it gets full it doesn't start to drain, it keeps it at 100%.

I WAS getting great battery life. all of a sudden the phone had shut off one day and wouldn't go back on unless I took the battery out and put it back in. Since then the battery life has been just crap. I tried resetting the battery points and nothing happened. I think I'm just going to go back to 2.2. I never had any issues with cm7 up until now but something is completely ****ed and I can't do anything to repair it.
ugh.
Check what apps are consuming most of your CPU. If you nothing stands out there it may be worth buying System Panel ($3) for the monitoring capability. There are probably free apps that do the same thing, but I can only recommend what I've tried. Also, if you just recently flashed an over/underclocked kernel or just installed SetCPU, you may be running into Issue 9733, which has a known workaround. If you want any more detailed assistance, you'll have to post more details. Can you post an adb bugreport?
I'm not sure what happened but I decided to just flash a different ROM. I just flashed Kingdom Stock GingerSense 3.0. Works great! I installed all my programs on it just fine and I just tried installing the google apps zip (it has navigation, places, ect) and now I'm getting an error message. UGH! WHY! It didn't install the apps from the zip file and now for a few programs that I had already installed they are no longer there and when I try to install from the market place I get a "Missing Shared Library" error message. I'm trying to install the TD Bank app and Tweetdeck as well as Craigslist and get the errors. I'm not having any problems with anything else.
problem solved!

[Q] Battery Changing Issue

Hi Everyone,
Long lost member here, lol. Experimented lots with my Galaxy S4G, and now odin is my best friend.
Anyhow onto my issue with my S3 which is on Telus, not that makes a difference in this case.
Everything is stock, other than imbeded root. Rooted since the day i bought it lol.
So up until a few days ago, my phone worked just fine. However recently noticed that in the morning after it says "fully charged" 100% with a green light on, I unplugged it and after a few min it drops to 62% and drains normaly from there.
So what I did is next day charged it till a 100%, unplugged it, (at midnight or 1ish) than dropped to 62% and plugged it back in, charged to a 100 again and this time it stayed ON normaly after that.
Now I always have to charge it twice every night.
Is there a way to reset the battery memory??
I've tried the battery pull, resetting multiple times, shutting down........
When a tinkered with custom roms on my S1 I always wiped "dalvic cache" I believe for this reason.
Is there anything I can do?
Or has anyone else had this problem?
How old is the phone/battery? Sounds like the cells might be dying? Calibrating your battery, wiping battery stats in recovery, etc. Does absolutely nothing. Might be time to invest in a new OEM battery and see if that helps. They're pretty cheap on amazon...
THnaks for the suggestion
Any thoughts on a High Capacity battery? Ebay item# 290920383606

OR you still rather reccoment an OEM battery.....?

[Q] How many people have had battery problems with the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 T800?

I've spent the entire evening tonight trying to find out why I'm getting very erratic battery performance on my Tab S 10.5. I've seen the battery jump and drop 10-30% within a half hour, I've seen the battery percentage go UP from 55% to 67% after rebooting it while it wasn't plugged in, and all kinds of other battery level weirdness. I've even seen it lock itself at random and randomly reboot both when plugged in and when running on only battery.
Tonight, I had had enough and did a factory reset, and it got WORSE! After the reset, it went from 10% tom 17% when I unplugged it. Once I did, it rebooted itself and the battery dropped to 0% and shut itself off!
I've seen other people on here complaining about the same battery weirdness, but the threads seem to mix people talking about different Galaxy Tab S tablets. My question is if I return this to Amazon and get a new one, am I likely to have the same problem? Will it be better? Worse?

For me, the biggest drain is the screen and I have it at a very low level. I put it into ultra power saving mode last night before going to bed. The batter level this morning was fine, but GSam Battery Monitor said I had the screen on for 8 hours, whereas the built in batter app shows otherwise.

I haven't rooted my Tab. I'm running stock.
Here's another example of what I was seeing. Once it dropped down to 0% last night, I left it plugged in and left it alone. hen I looked at the battery meter, it didn't show a gradual increase in battery level, it showed a huge spike up in the middle of the night. So it charged very slowly, then at some point jumped around 50% or more and continued to charge until it showed 100%.
Today my T800 did something similar, it was full, then unplugged, started to use it and it went to 92% in just 15min so I was like WTF, plugged to the charger and then immediately jumped to 99%, I unplugged and did a reboot and it once it was back was at 99% again, so I charged again to full and I will see later how it's behaving.
I did notice that when this happened it was warmer than usual
Mine is not rooted.
My T800 doesn't behave like that. I'd definitely return it.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Also loses all wifi connections and I have to put in the passkey every time it reboots. It started about a week or so ago. I think I'll just return it.
Guys, see this thread. Tab S 8.4 T705. I had issue with battery too and i managed to settle it by this way.

Do you even know what rooting is? If you did, you'd know that rooting on its own does nothing to the battery, not only that but it CAN'T do anything to the battery
my battery problems solve (maybe)
Finally after reading dozens of post and trying all kinds of apps to solve the draining and rebooting of mt Tab 5 10.5 t800 I decided to replace the battery so I watched a video on you tube about how to replace the battery and took the back cover off.it was easy I used one of my guitar pics and before I took the battery out I remembered seeing a post here on xda about the battery plastic connector not making good contact so before I took the battery out i disconnected the white plastic connector it just pulls up and off and used a q-tip with some electrical cleaner on it and cleaned the contact and plugged it back in, I charged it to 100% witch I could not do before because it would stop at 98% and put the unit through the paces playing games and videos and doing every thing i could to drain the battery and the first thing I noticed was the battery life was about 5 times greater and it did not drop or reboot yet after 7 hours im at 54 percent battery life .. the screen is more responsive and the unit is running smooth as butter. I am REALLY excited and hope this is the answer to my problems because I really dont want to buy a new battery and find out it does the same thing.

[Q] Battery Problem

Hello guys
I had my Note II (N7100) for over a year now. The battery was fantastic till like last week. I used to go from this ROM to that ROM a lot, but always went back to my rooted stock (4.1.2) and I went to 4.3 once and after realizing that it is draining my battery, I recovered.
Last week I installed DN4 and also changed my kernel and bootloader, it booted but the battery had issues. I realized that the battery isn't calibrated. So I googled and found that using *#0228# would help to calibrate the battery.
I did that but I decided I want my good old rom back. So after recovering, I re did the *#0228# again.
Then I realized the battery life has dropped to 4 hours with my normal usage (it was about a day before) and that crazy things happen on about 20% or less. Like the phone asks for sim card, or that it would turn it self off at 18% etc. This happened once at 60% as well.
And then it will stay off unless I charge it for a few seconds while off and then boot it up.
I have also realized, when charging off, it shows an empty battery, while my recovery or android itself shows 90+%.
I tried to change my kernel, no luck and I'm back to the back up before going to dn4 in first place.
Any ideas what I should do?
So I changed the batteries, and now I have my old life time back.
But still it shows an empty battery whenever I charge while the phone is off. Any ideas guys?
