Hi. I'm looking to purchase one of these tablets (the 10.1 Note 2014 edition) and wondering if when in a video chat session, this tablet's camera can stream out at 1280 x 720 resolution. Does anyone know for sure the answer to this question ? Or maybe do a test ? You can easily find out by turning on "technical details" in the settings section of the skype app. When chatting, you'll see the capture and stream resolutions coming from your tablet and it should 1280 x 720.

Only had my Desire HD about 3 weeks, rooted last week, installed Lg Camera Pro.....but as I know absolutely ZERO when it comes to any kind of camera/camcorder stuff...what is the best setting for best possible video quality?
Options under video resolution are:
640 x 480
704 x 576
720 x 480
800 x 480
960 x 720
1280 x 720
Then I have video encoder options:
Default
H.263
H.264
MPEG4
Then: Video file Format
MPEG4
3GP
File size at the end of the recording is not an issue, as I have a big SD card and don't record to much video, but when I do record I want it to be the very very best possible.
Any help - very very much appreciated.
cheers
Matt
Hi matt
For me, the best possible video output is 800x480 with MPEG4 as format. Stable 50fps under bright place and still manage to maintain 20+ fps in low light. Recording in full HD is nice, but limited to 30fps at most and low audio bitrate. Also, try to adjust the sharpness to -1 or -2. It will improve the fps. There's also a thread for DHD camera guide I guess. For better compression, I choose the H.264 format.
Is there any tweak for full hd (1920x1080) video playback on wave??
But this makes really no sense...
Display is 480 x 800 Pixel...
I think als TV output is 480 x 800 Pixel ?
Will check.
Anyway. Wave must shrink/scale Video for playback...
Why not use PC... there are more then 10000000 Tools for convert Videos...
Best Regards

It doesn't make you sense? for example galaxy s support full hd video playback and display is also 480x800 pixel...

At the moment you have NOT full access to change all internal bada OS parts... Read about apps_compressed.bin or the OSP thingies with *.so extension...
So you have 2 choose between:
A.: galaxy s
B.: do nothing and wait... wait and wait...
or C... if Wave not play your Video, then convert before on PC.
Your choice.
Oh forgotten, you could research by yourself... maybe I have something overseen.
Best Regards

But Galaxy S have (micro?) HDMI output, right? So it is possible to get 1080p on Full HD TV. And Wave have only TV-Out analog PAL 576 lines/NTSC 480 lines. And also 4 GB limitation on SD card - FAT32 file system. And finally, there is no difference in video quality on Wave's screen (800x480!) between 720p with high bitrate (4-5 Mbps) and 720p with bitrate ~900 kbps after transcoding (I tested it). Artefacts are invisible on Wave's screen, only on monitor or TV with full resolution of 720p you'll see the video isn't good. But on Wave's display it's clean.
PS. Wave won't play video with too high bitrate (higher than 5-7Mbps, I don't remember exactly, I've checked this on some video samples).
Hi folks,
I'd like to change the video resolution for my HOX camera , there is only three choices: FHD / HD/ MMS .
I want to change it to VGA (640 *480) or QVGA ( 320 *240) in order to record small size video to send it in application like whatsapp .
I have installed google edition camera, but it gave only SD( 720 * 480) option beside the FHD / HD ,beside that the audio quality when I used it was so so low .
any help would be appreciated .

Hi guys, I'm sorry if there is any solution for this problem into the forum, but I didn't find it.
What can I do to solve the problem with watching videos on Youtube. I mean, they are seeing too bad, pixelated with a very low quality and that's annoying
BTW, I'm using 4.2.2 stock rom.
Hope you can help me.

Maybe your internet connection? Is it unstable or slow?
Low screen resolution (only 480x800) means you're limited to 480p or lower, because more than that you can't tell the difference... of course resolution is not everything, there is also codec and video bitrate. A 1080p with low bitrate may look more pixelated than a 480p with a slightly higher bitrate.
I am facing this problem in CM 11(4.4.2) too. You are on stock 4.2.2 then it is possible that bug is in Youtube App.
I am using Tubemate to watch videos from youtube.
Attaching Samples from both Apps. See the diffrence for same video.Same quality (720P).

They're not the same quality. HQ is not the same as HD. HQ in this device is the highest resolution the screen and GPU can render (480p). When you turn off the HQ button then it will scale automatically to your internet speed (144p, 240p, or 360p). 720p is considered HD, just like 1080p.

Thanks for clarification buddy. You are right because I tried to play that video in 480P mode in tubemate and it came up with "not supported".
That means it is pixelating due to downscale/upscaling to 800 X 480 . NOT A BUG.:good:
The YouTube app is displaying videos on 4.2.2 GPU libs in crap quality
Thats why even CM11 and all KitKat ROMs have the same prob

Ok.
Thank u all about the information, now I'm very clear about the problem.
BTW, I'm using Instatube and works fine.
Try see vĂdeos in Browser its more clear and good the app its really really BAD
Just install the old youtube apk ver 4.5.17 ... it will solve your problem
Just keep in mind ( dont allow play store to update the youtube app to new ver or else u will again see pixelated video).

Hi,
I just found that if I record a full hd video, when I zoom it uses only the main sensor with 7x max zoom.
But in 4K (30fps) it uses the 4x sensor and can go to 20x.
Is that normal ?
Can we expect a fix later from Google ?
i believe thats normal
That's "normal" - that's the limitation of the cam as every credible reviewer has pointed out, aswell as Google when they presented the phone.
Maybe they will "fix" that later, but as of now, it's a "design" decision.
