I tried to update to 5.1 and it was stuck at Htc m9 bootscreen.
I accidentally reloacked the bootloader and now it's not getting unlocked.
Here's were I'm now:
software status: modified
RELOCKED
S-ON
I can't access stock recovery also.
I am unable to flash RUU as it shows some error related to invalid sparse format. I can't flash boot.img or recovery as bootloader is locked. Please help me.
I'm pretty sure you're bricked. Did you have a custom rom while your bootloader was unlocked?
Edit: What firmware is your device on? Is the ruu below that firmware?

Sorry guys, I need some help here :/
As my HTC Desire 816 was unable to receive any OTA updates (I'm using a custom rom), I've decided to revert back to the stock rom.
What I did was:
1. Downloaded and restore using an nandroid backup provided by someone else (it was working fine after flashing) using CWM recovery.
2. Booted into fastboot, and flashed the 'Stock_recovery.img'
3. Relocked my bootloader using 'fasboot oem lock'
After doing these steps, I realised that my device is permanently stuck at the fastboot screen.
1. Selecting 'Recovery' only reboot the device back to fastboot screen, same as the 'Factory reset' option.
2. I tried flashing CWM, TWRP and Stock recovery, which didn't work.
3. I tried unlocking the bootloader again, but it failed when I tried doing 'fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin'
4. I couldn't find a RUU for HTC Desire 816 with the CID 'HTC__044'
...so basically I've no idea what to do now.

After receive and install Some Update From Your HTC Carrier You are encounter Boot Loop .
You Shouldn't Restore Backup Because There is Problem With Your CID
Try Install TWRP Recovery / RUU.exe Cannot be Found it's Impossible
you've One Chance For Relive ur Device indeed Using SuperCID Device And Using another Stock Backup
Which device? Or carrier even?..
A5chl..A5dug,.etc..its listed on your bootloader

Please help!! I tried to install a 3.x.x firmware ROM via TWPR 2.8.6.1 while my phone was still have 2.x.x firmware. The installation itself was succesful but when i tried to boot system it kept booting into bootloader screen. My phone is still S-ON and software is 2.11.425.7.
MM roms won't run on LP firmware. You need to roll back or upgrade your firmware to 6.0.
Ruu
Can you boot in bootloader ? Flash Ruu or Rom for 2.11.425.7 firmware in TWRP. Probably if firmware and rom version 2.11.425.7 is the same you can normal boot phone (if u see white screen with HTC logo you must WAAAAAAAAIT), or install RUU and update phone official to newest firmware and sofrware if u have Son. Next if u want, unlock bootloader and make SOFF and flash any rom if u want Sorry for my ENG
Bajdaspl: Yes i can boot into bootloader and can you please tell me how i can update its firmware? I've been told that to upgrade firmware my phone needs to be
S-OFF but my phone is still S-ON. I can't even find any RUU for my firmware version anywhere on the Internet. Would relocking helps????
My phone is stuck in fastboot mode after I flashed a custom rom with Firmware Version 3.35.XXX.XX while my phone was on 1.32.617.6. I tried to flash CM 12 thinking that it would fix the issue since they might be on same firmware. I can boot into download mode and TWRP recovery. I think I might have relocked my bootloader trying to fix this.
This is what it says when I boot.
***Software status : Official ****
*** RELOCKED***
*** S-OFF ***
Please help me fix this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Relocked is the current issue. If you can and once you have figured that out you need to flash a stock rom then twrp 2.9.0.1 and supersu 2.65.

I recently flashed stock and relocked on my S-OFF European Unlocked HTC 10
I am running the stock rom and have flashed TWRP with my bootloader is set to RELOCKED
If I flash any custom roms my phone just stays on the HTC logo and never boots and if I flash any other files it shows success on TWRP but nothing happens
I tried to flash SuperSU zip and it shows it working in the logs but when I boot into the phone nothing has been applied
Any ideas?

Why would you relock bootloader?
If you're S-OFF couldn't you just unlock via HTCDev? I'm pretty sure if needed, manually rewriting the MID/CID will allow you to unlock regardless of your variant. I have only had Verizon HTC devices so I haven't needed to experiment with that...
