Phone not booting anymore - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello,
my phone started rebooting frequently in the last few days, I reckon after it got slightly wet due to some liquid poured on it.
However, everything still worked until yesterday.
Now the phone does not boot anymore, but if I connect the USB cable the icon with a battery and a lightning inside the battery still appears.
Could it be a battery problem?
Any help on how to proceed?
Ideally, I'd like to boot the phone to backup pics and stuff at least...
Thanks a lot.
P.S.: phone had latest http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=6963#downloads installed, that is cm-12.1-20151101-UNOFFICIAL-maguro.zip

Dead BA, won't go past startup

Hey guys, hoping you can help me with a problem with my harrier.
It was was working perfectly fine, and I replaced the touch screen (original screen was cracked) and it seemed to be working perfectly fine.
However one time, the battery fell out, and when i put it back (and ever since then) it showed the Pocket PC 2003 startup screen, and won't go any further then that.
Reseting didnt work, so I tried discharging the internal battery (by leaving the the battery off it for several hours), and then charging up the battery and charging up the internal battery.
That broke the cycle, now it showed the Welcome to Pocket PC, please touch the screen to continue - however touching the screen did not have any response. I tried hard reseting, and what do you know, back to the boot up screen only cycle.
Another thing, the boot up screen as soon as you turn it on, and then you can't turn it off and it's completely unresponsive.
I thought it's possible there was a loose connection inside, from when i took it apart, but i took it apart again and plugged everything in again, but it's still doing the same thing ~_~.
Does anyone have any ideas whatsoever?
Thanks!

Soft reset to your BA, before the red software letters appear in the splash screen push camera and record buttons simultaneosly , if you do correctly simultaneosly three labels gonna appear, with camera and record buttons you can choose the labels and set "yes or no". set all to "yes" exept KITL, after do it press message button and your BA begin to boot, dont afraid for the white screen it take a moment
did you sort it? - I have been through this exactly. Pressing the camera and record buttons does not do anything in wm2003 and there is almost no delay before the boot screen appears.
I reflashed mine with ship roms and in all cases the BA froze at exctly the same place. Amazingly enough I fixed it by letting the internal backup battery go completely flat (took the main battery out for a few days), flashed with fresh ship rom and all was fine. Even works great with WM6.1
Worth a try, I tried so many things and none of them worked I was going to throw it in the bin, amazing how easy the fix was.
thanks for the replies.
Currently trying to find a rom for a CDMA blue angel.
Try this post, it does work on Vista.
I know that it is an o2 rom but will be fine then follow the steps to upgrade as before

Galaxy Nexus not charing properly!

Hello,
today I was fooling around with my Phone, flashing stuff etc... =D
I wanted to flash the touch version of CWM and decided to delet everything and install my phone completely new without all the junk. So I made a Titanium Backup and than I wanted to copy the backup to my PC. There the problems started, I chose the Titanium folder and wanted to copy it to my PC but just the folder was copied without the contents. I didn't get it to work. Then suddently my PC couldnÄt recognize my GNex anymore.
Because of that I just deleted everything with a Filemanager and just left the Titanium Backup Folder on the SD, a ROM (AOKP b27), Francos.Kernel and a Boot Animation zip.
So then I went into Fastboot mode and installed the new CWM with the GNex Toolkit and than flashed everything without problems.
After rebooting I plugged my Phone into the Wall Charger (the one supplied with the GNex) and had to discover, that it wouldn't charge at all. So now I can't charge it while the phone is on, I can only charge it while it's off?! And while it's off the screen shows the batteryicon with the flash inside and than for 5 secs it show an animaton of the battery filling up, and then the screen stays black for 1-2 secs and the icon with the flash comes again; is this the normal animation? I think I can remeber it just showing the icon with the flash once and then just the battery charging right?
So I googled a bit about this problem and I don't think it has something to do with the software; so can anyone give me some advise? Is it broken, do I have to send it in?! =(
Sounds like something is up with your ROM or kernel. Have you tried performing a nandroid backup and flashing AOKP?
Well, I did install everything new, ROM & Kernel because I thought that could help but it didn't
Edit:
Just now: Phone was charing while off, I booted it up and in the Battery Settings Screen there was the message " not being charged", I unplugged the phone and the message changed to "discharging" then I plugged it in again and suddently it was charging, unplugged again and plugged in again but now it just stays at discharging
Could the battery be defectiv?
Edit2:
Ok, so now I installed 4.0.2 Stock Google with Gnex Tollkit and it seems to be working, so porbably something witht he rom...strange I ask myself what could have done it?
Ok I need help!
So my problem is not yet solved...
Now my phone charges while on but when I disconnect it it's still charing... The symbol on the battery icon in the notification bar shows the little flash and in Batterysettings the graph keeps reseting the time every 10-20 secs...
So basically the phone - even not on the charger - keeos showing every 10-20 secs that it's charging and than it's not and this keeps going...
I think it must be a hardware problem with the battery because I already flashed a completly new rom and kernel etc....
Anyone suggestions?
Edit: Oh something that I noticed too...since it keeps charing and discharging my screen goes on everytime it "charges"...

Help ! got exactly the same problem on my GN =(
Have the same problem, heres a very helpful response to a thread i started:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23411891#post23411891
I had this same exact problem two days ago. After a lot of googling and changing roms and going back to stock I brought it to Verizon.
The woman there basically told me in not so many words that if it's charging and not dying immediately I should try living with it, which I told her was unacceptable. I said "you can clearly see that it shows it's charging right now. While the phone thinks it's charging, it doesn't go into proper sleep mode, and therefore the battery drains much faster. Additionally, I don't know when it's charging for real or just saying it's charging."
She went into the back for a minute and came back out and offered to ship me one. I just got a "certified like new" shipped to me next day (I have the insurance on the phone) and it seems perfectly fine so far. Updated to 4.04 and restored with Titanium Backup.
From everything I've read it looks like a hardware problem and won't be fixed with software. You may temporarily fix it by leaving the battery out for like 30-40 seconds, but then when you go to plug it in you're going to introduce the problem again.
I would bring it into Verizon and tell them it's unacceptable, and demand they replace it. Good luck.

Desire broken for good in just a second?

Hello all,
BIG problem here.
A few hours I update the MildWild oxygen rom from 4.6 to 4.6.5. For a few hours everything went totally amazing. But a few minutes ago I turned on wi-fi, but he didn't connect. So I went to MySettings app, but he didn't response. Nothing worked anymore. Only screen of and on, but then I hadn't also the lockscreen. Then the screen turned off, and I couldn't get it on
Pulled the battery out, and put in back in, but my phone didn't restart. Now I plugged in the charger, even the light of charging isn't turning on.
What the hell is the problem with my Desire? He can't be broken in a second if everything worked super well a few seconds before that all?
Tried a different battery but also then he isn't doing a ****... This whole problem came just out of the blue, that's what makes it really awkward to me.
I hope you can help me, I don't want to leave my lovely Desire.
Greets Ramon.
After all sort of things trying, I thought... let's take the sd card out. And luckily he turned on, feels like heaven...
Sd card back in, phone worked also. Don't know what the problem could have been, but my Desire works again.
I hope this maybe could help some other people who had/have/ gonna have this problem!
Close thread please :good:
Hello,
This morning suddenly, the same problem happened... Turned the screen on, swiped to unlock, but during the swipe the phone hang. This time no fear, because I knew what I had to do: take out the SD card.
Too bad, this doesn't work this time. The problem is exactly the same as last time, but know even without the SD card, the phone don't boot, don't charge. Couldn't get into bootloader also. The day before yesterday I flashed Mildwild REDUX V1, but this worked good.
What could it be?
Thanks in advance!
Greets Ramon
Edit: The last time this happened, when the phone finally booted, I directly got a message called something like "android.....com stopped unexpectedly". So that was the reason the phone stopped. Now it would be the same problem I think, but I can't turn the phone on. I just called with HTC, and because I'm out of the warrenty period, I will have to pay the repair (if needed) I think it's not broken, it's probably the same problem as last time...
The phone 'works' again... But it's in a bootloop, and going to recovery results into a bootloop also so I can't access the recovery. So I flashed the recovery again using ADB, but still I get the bootloop! What should I do?

[Q] Black screen and no booting.

So the other day I let my n7 die completely, which has happened in the past. Today I went to charge it with my computer and turn it on, so I plugged it into my laptop's USB port. For reference, I just installed Windows 8 and there are no android drivers on my laptop. Anyway, I plug it in and hold the power button and it shows me the google screen, then it goes to a black screen annnndddddddd.... Nothing. It stayed there until I did a hard kill. I can get to the bootloader as well as TWRP. Within TWRP I cleared the caches, and ran a fix permissions. Nothing. I've backed up in TWRP and have yet to wipe my data because that's a last resort for me at this point. Right now its sitting on the charger. When I plug it in I get the battery thing as well as the battery charging thing, however after the battery charging thing goes away I can't call it back up. (usually it'll go away but you can hit the power button and it will come back).
This appears to be a hard brick but I'm not sure. I was running 4.4.2 stock, rooted, bootloader unlocked, with Gravity Box, but that's it. Otherwise I've been running normal user stuff and it has been (up until now) just fine, normal battery life and everything.

I fixed it. Something happened between the battery draining completely and me trying to turn it on that was causing a /system mount failure, thus the black screen after the bootloader. Here's how I fixed it:
I downloaded the full restore zip from Google (Mine was KOT49H at the time of posting this).
Then I opened the package, and the second package within the first one. I extraced the system.img file to my desktop.
After extracting the system.img file, I used fastboot on my computer to flash the system in my bootloader, and now its back to normal. No data was lost, nothing broken. I re rooted and everything seems to be in working order.
Good job! I know none of my 1st gen N7's liked to be drained completely so I make a big effort not to. Phones don't seem to have issues like these tablets sometimes do.

LG G3 freezing and restarting, staying in boot loop sometimes

Hello,
Since 2 weeks ago my phone has been started acting all weird. It started with my Phone freezing and restarting itself one morning. It showed the LG logo for a few seconds, then went black and the same thing repeated. LED did not start blinking at first but after a few loops the LED came on, the animation played and phone turned on nicely. No more such problems during the rest of the day.
Fast forward 2 days. It got worse. The freezing and restarting happened more often and at one point it was in the LG logo -> black screen -> LG logo loop for a good 10 minutes before it booted. It also drains my battery about 10% every single time.
So I decided to do a Hard Reset when I managed to keep the phone running long enough. The hard reset process itself worked flawlessly, no issues during the reset what so ever. I though the problem was over until a few minutes after the hard reset when I was reinstalling my apps, it froze and restarted again.
I started googling about the issue and found a few matches. Some people suggested replacing the battery and some suggested putting a piece of paper between the battery and the SIM card slot from which I did the latter. That actually worked for a few days until the reboots came back and it got worse by the day when it finally was completely unusable since it kept restarting after booting up (usually it didn't even get to that point). Then I decided to try a new battery because it was the cheapest option available at that moment.
At first all looked good on a new battery but still, just a few minutes after rebooting the phone from a new battery it froze yet again and restarted itself. So 25€ wasted on nothing.
At this point I'm starting to run out of options and really would not like to buy a new phone since my G3 is only two years old (warranty just ended in October 2016).
Any suggestions are more than welcome at this point.
Best regards,
Taavi
Yesterday I tried flashing the stock V30B marshmallow ROM onto the phone using LG flash tool 2014. It lasted without restarts for about an hour and then it all started again.
So in conclusion:
A) It's not the battery.
B) It's not the software.
C) Thus it must be the hardware.
Since my warranty is void already, the repair costs would probably be quite large.
I think the only chance left for me is to suck it up and buy a new phone.
It was fun while it lasted though. RIP.
Funny thing is that after I removed my SIM card, the issues have stopped for ~24 hours. Yesterday I was able to browse reddit and watch videos for almost 2 hours straight with no issue when I had no SIM card in the phone. I will try inserting the SIM card again after I have fully recharged it to see if maybe it has something to do with the SIM card connection.
Put in the SIM card and it didn't even last 24 hours before restarting. Took it out again. Unfortunately it now restarted even without the SIM card so it still must be some hardware failure.
Same issue here. Changed battery, factory reset, rooted and TWRP+CyanogenMod 14.1 flashed and SU granted.
Constant reboots. Sometimes bootlooped until I remove battery
Having the same problem. Tried new battery but it turned out to be a cheap clone that was worse than old battery. Got another from mbuynow which last longer but still restarts but not that often. Tried the paper trick to to avail. Also tried the LG suite to see if it helped but no luck. Running marshmallow 6.0 and have done a full reinstall. Is this likely to be hardware problem?

Cannot tell for sure but seems it is a hardware problem which is really sad since besides the restarts the phone is still in very good shape. I would take it to repairs but as my warranty is already void it would make sense to simply buy a new phone and sell the current one to parts.
I have the same problem... I flashed CRDroid or something with Android 7.0, it booted normally, but then, restart after few minutes... It can boot normally with the usb to computer, but not with charger. It can also boot to twrp, wipe, install and fix the system works, installing other roms works too, and they can boot normally, but it shut down, as soon I remove the cable... I thought it was nougat rom, it change some in system files or drivers like battery options... I'm out of options...

Seems like a battery issue I think you need a new battery if it's working without the wire plugged in
Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk
I have 2 phones. This thing seems to puff exactly after 2 years coz they were bought in difrent times and both of them emerge this issue after 2 years for each. boootlops were after few minutes from start. In case of first one new battery was a bingo but i did not investigate second - im going maybe for new phone. Funny thing. Maybe product life time was to planned to good(for producer)?
I was a great phone, longest I have and most customised... Very agile, never had bricked, bootlooped or failed to flash... Thank you for your great support, LG G3.... Rest in Peace... If someone can bring it back to life, I'll be back to that.
I'm counting on someone stumbling on a fix as well. It's still an awesome phone expect for this stupid thing.
I had similar issues but I realized that different SIMs seemed to work with the phone. Went to my carrier and requested a new one. Since then, no issues. Maybe something with the sim card slot?

It happens even when my SIM card is not in the phone. It could easily be the SIM card tray but cannot confirm without taking it to repairs.
Did you try disabling Location?
(I had random reboots when the battery went to 25% and when i disabled Location services,it got fixed)

One of the hard resets I did was from full charge and I didn't enable anything, including location. It still went into the reboot loop.

It might be a hardware problem in some LG G3 phones.
It began rebooting and bootlooping after 2 days, that i had disabled the location services.
Now i'm thinking of getting a new battery but i don't really think it will do any effect..
So i might buy a new phone..

I had the same problem as you,i bought a new battery and everything got fixed.(you need exact the same Model of battery so when you go to a store note the model of the battery)
Temporary Fix
1- Remove the SIM, turn on the phone, put it in Airplane Mode.
2-Insert the SIM turn on the phone.(Don't change Air mode).
3- Turn off auto backup/restore in settings.
4-Go to network setting>Preferred network Type.
5-Turn Off the Airplane Mode and immediately SELECT THE 3G only(Before it catches the signals), in some phones WCDMA only.(Do not Select 4G/LTE/2G).
6-Done
7-Restart the phone.(Now it will not reboot)
Drawbacks:
In 2G signal zone, There will be no signals.
Its a hardware problem,But its a way to trick it.
