I was having probs trying to find the proper root img for 13b. Thx for the tutorial!
To sum it up, its basically the low effort root except with the linked rootedsystem img above.
One more question though, the regular system img linked above, thats to unroot back to 13b by KDZ?

the 13b kdz is the unrooted file
if you are talking about the system. img ya it dose not have root
i think someone provided the img file cause at the time there was not a kdz when 13b was rooted.
glad it have helped you

What does this mean " 6. take the rootsystem.img and system.img in the root of your phones INTERNAL storage". very confused on this. thx
NVM I got it thx for the thread though

i just message here so i can bump the post so everyone can see the update

Whats the diferece between 11a and b13 its really worth it?

Thanks for making the video about rooting the lg g3 and posting to YT. I watched it a couple of days ago, and am downloading the tools to root my g3 vs985.
I thought I'd ask you if you know the dial code to get into the screen which has the device rollback level. I found it somewhere during the time I watched your video, but forgot to write it down.
Thanks for helping us who are trying to root our devices.

you are welcome but you do know you posted in the g4 vs986 post insted of a vs985, as for a code i do not know any, but if you are talking about a downgrade you can downgrade your phone
if you are useing the lgg4 vs986 you can downgrade and that video can be found in my channels home page in the lg g4 post
for the lgg3 vs985 look for the post for lgg3 and you can downgrade to 10b look for the video downgrade to 10b
i am happy to help you all out and if you need any help feel free to message me here or my facebook page @ www.facebook.com/laser452

For VoLTE to be enabled w/13b Root:
If you're downgrading to 13b though a .kdz your, "My Verizon App" will also be downgraded and turns off VoLTE on the device.
BEFORE root, go into your account online and turn off, "Advanced Calling" and apply changes.
Go into phone and update to latest version of, "My Verizon App" and make sure device has decent or better LTE signal strength (I had to keep trying on several devices because of poor signal strength in my office).
Once updated, go to options->advanced calling->activate later->ok
You should now see the Turn on HD Calling in gray, do not turn off device as prompted, just set the device down and wait you should see that the HD ON option will be added shortly.
You can now root without loosing HD Voice or WiFi, I even froze the system update apps and have no issue with making calls (dropping to 1x from LTE).
Hope this helps!

Lg P930 LTE I bricked my phone?
hi guys
i tried to flash my p930 but now I'm stacked with "LG Optimus LTE" custom logo. When i use KDZ_FW_UPD.exe i always have the same error line in the program like
Model Dll Msg Not found2004,
my problem is i don't have any original backup
can you help me guys?
thanks
sorry for my english
i tried this method
"" Please try KDZ_FW_UPD.exe instead of UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe.
1)install the software below:
msxml.msi
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN36AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3. 6.exe
B2CAppSetup.exe (This one will automatically run LG updating after installation)
2)Quit LG updating program.
3)Run "Windows Enabler.exe", a small icon will display on your computer's right-bottom corner, click it, it will enable KDZ_FW_UPD.exe's buttons.
4)Press volume+ and power botton when you phone is off to enter "Download Mode", connect the phone with your computer.
Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe, Choose:
type:3GQCT
phonemode:CS_EMERGENCY
and select your rom:LU620128_00.kdz (version 128 rom)
Click "launch software update"
Flash begins, please be patient, your phone will automatically reboot when the progress reaches 94, then shortly, it will reach 100, all done."
I don't understand why you guys keep using the LU6200 kdz to try to unbrick your P930 or where you're finding the forum post that is telling you to do this, but it is not meant for our phone. In fact, it is probably what is ****ing up your phones. There is literally only one good unbricking guide for the P930 and it's right here on the front page in LG Nitro General Discussion by Machzelet. It's an updated version of my old unbricking guide that doesn't work anymore due to updates to the LG update tool. You might have permabricked your phone unless you can still get into download mode. I suggest reading the whole thread I just linked you to and don't even follow the first post. Find the posts about the Nitro .TOT file and the LG flasher tool and see if you can flash yourself back to a working phone that way. If you have any questions, ask them in that thread. Having 100 different unbricking threads isn't helpful.

Can I use this to unhardbrick my LG G4?

Just picked up my LG g4 today wanted to make sure I knew how to restore it because I am new to LG phones, anyways the flash tool crashed during the process and I was hard bricked meaning the screen wouldn't turn on it was pretty dead. Now I will be taking it back tomorrow but I stumbled across something... Remember for the oneplus one you could do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unbrick-oneplus-one-t3013732 well download the drivers included in that thread and allow unsigned drivers then go to device manager and you will see qhsbulk just like the oneplus one...interesting now try installing the driver and download the root folder that also has the send command file run the ports.bat or whatever it is called and you see COM8 instead of none at all isn't this interesting could we take this one step forward and possibly find a way to un hardbrick our LG g4? Won't it be awesome to always have that cushion and know that if you mess up you can fix a soft AND a hard brick help me explore this find, please. Is this a possible way to unhardbrick it? Also running the send command thing and doing Com 8 doesn't allow you to send commands so don't try.
Also can someone tell me what kdz file and what I need to do to avoid this happening again I took the H811c update before this happened
The same thing happened to me! I flashed the latest US LG-H811 firmware using LG Flash Tool, and it crashed! I try to turn on the phone, exchanged the battery, and I get nothing! I would love to have my phone back because I paid top dollar last year. Thank you c:
I have a tmobile LG G4 by the way can someone tell me which KDZ file is the right one
Try the 10c T-Mobile for your g4 model.
Can you get into download mode at all???

How to upgrade to 13B via KDZ

My G4 was running 11A (rooted) and I wanted to upgrade to 13B
So follow this steps and you will be able to upgrade.
First make sure your phone is recognized by your PC.
Step 1. Download the 13B KDZ (Full stock image not the rooted) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/vs986-rooteddebloated-t3256814 (Edit 2 on big red fonts)
Step 2. Download LG Flash Tool from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
Step 3. Put the phone in download mode.
Step 4. Launch LG Flash tool select the VS98613B_00_ARB02.kdz file you downloaded on step #1.
Step 5. choose CSE Flash, on the pop up window choose start, then click OK and let the phone alone.
You can get some weird popup window that the server is not responding, let that alone. After the progress bar on LG Flash tool finished to 100% the phone will reboot itself and you will be on the Verizon setup screen, if you don't have a verizon sim, then it's going to pop up something saying that it doesn't have a verizon sim or something like that, just ignore and setup the phone using WiFi connection. And thats all. Now you will be on 13B.
DISCLAIMER: this process is done under your responsibility.
Ok in case another newbie wants to do the upgrade, those are the steps. I did it using CSE Flash.

Well mine was rooted also on 11a, so I just flashed the stock 13b and voila, everything was fresh.
So, no you don't need to unroot, you can flash the 13b over your current rooted 11a

To root you need to read the whole post from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/vs986-rooteddebloated-t3256814 there you will find the rooted IMG file that you need.
I'll definitely take this thread's instructions as a shortcut to get the LG G4 up to firmware 13B and then root it. I rather start fresh with 13B rather than carry anything that may have gone wrong with firmware 10B when it was rooted. I also don't care about the vaporware 10B ROM hack.
ok, so it may be a dumb question, so forgive me in advance, I am currently on stock 13b, it is possible to flash the rooted kdz file to obtain root on 13b?
it sounds like it would be too easy and therefore....it might be
also would like to add that i have been following several threads since getting this phone, I appreciate all the hard work and knowledge you guys provide. :good:

You need to flash the rooted IMG file not the KDZ on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/vs986-rooteddebloated-t3256814 you can find the file needed and also the instructions. Read the whole post so you have everything clear before doing the process.

thank you!
I saw that the sprint version has gotten marshmallow already, I am still debating weather I want to root now, or wait on verizon, which may take well into next year.
Step 3. Put the phone in download mode.

First make sure you have installed the drivers for your phone.
Then plug your usb cable to the PC (do not connect to the phone).
Turn off your phone.
Now while holding volume up plug the usb cable to the phone and you will get download mode.
Thx for the guide!!
Im just wondering though, what OS are you running?
I'm on Win 8.1 and am having trouble getting the LG flash tool to start the CSE flash. Ive used this tool before to flash back to stock and dont remember having any issues. But now I have to run the app as administrator and wait like 60 secs to get it to even start. I also noticed this in the LG Flash tool thread
WARNING: Windows 8 and 8.1 Are having Permission issues, I don`t use Windows 8 so Googleling would help for running the script that needs permission.

Just wondering if maybe its my comp as it has been a lil screwy lately
EDIT: Nevermind, just had to wait another 60+ secs for the last screen to pop up. Im good now!

I did it using Win 10, and I start LG flash tool with admin rights.
Not sure if you saw my edit above, but I got everything working.
Anyways,I thought the img we were flashing was already rooted. So I guess its a bit more involved. So let's see if I got this straight.
After following instructions from this thread, all I have is a rootable (but not yet rooted) 13b img.
So the next step is to root it using the low effort root method with the below file
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087013417
But, if for whatever reason, I need to unroot, I need to make a backup of my current system image using this thread below.

Is that correct?

Yeah, you are right. :good:
I have another question if ya dont mind.
In the low effort root thread, there's an 11a img posted, not 13b img like Im currently on. What img file should I be using on 13b for root?

I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere --
Is this the technical equivalent of taking the OTA for 13B?
In other words, am I also getting the updated baseband/radio/bootloader by using this KDZ (or whatever the LG equivalents of those things are)?
Or does this just put /system components of 13B on there?

Downgrade from MM to LL with LGUP is possible!

Just wanted everybody to know that you CAN downgrade your MM LG G4 for Verizon by using LGUP.
And this is how...
1). Download all The Files Below!
1) Firmware Files - Click HERE!
Or Here LGKDZ.com for your exact match KDZ for your model
2) Download LG Drivers - LG Drivers Here - 10.9 Mb
2.1)Verizon Drivers (Verizon Only)LG_VZW - 7.8 Mb
3..LGUP can be found on this website LG UP DOWNOAD
You have to sign into one of your accounts and like the page for them to open the downloads in the middle of the page.
4. install the drivers then the .msi file for LGUP. Usually there is a DLL file and the LGUP application, install the .DLL file then install LGUP.
5. First make sure that your phone is showing up on LGUP, if not make sure you have USB debugging enabled and the you are connected with MTP.
6. Find your .kdz file, and don't press start VERY IMPORTANT!!, Exit out of the application and then REOPEN LGUP and your 13b.KDZ should still be in the box at the bottom.
7. Now just press start and wait for it to do it's magic.
And now your back on LL and you can get back to rooting this phone.
And just so people know it is not possible to downgrade from LL to KK, it will brick your phone for some reason, and trust me I had to send mine back and get a knew one, nothing would get it to work again!
So that's how you get back to LL from MM, which seems to be the only way to have root at the moment...
One more thing, I was able to transfer the files for the effortless root on MM but you can't do any send_command.exe commands because it just says FAIL. but it did switch the system software from Official to Modified so it did something just not what I wanted it to do....
If there's anyone wondering why this works, it's because both the 13b and 24c kdz's both have the same qfuse number, so the bootloader accepts both without bricking. If Verizon ever puts out an update that increments the qfuse value and you take it, you won't be able to downgrade to 13b or 24c.
I have the kdz file but it wont let me put it on lgup. It's looking for a .tot file. Help would be greatly appreciated
Nevermind. Figured it out
would this work with h811

Thank you for the info! Just curious: how do you check the value of qfuse?
I did this on a Canadian variant H812 and it worked. Rooted right after and that worked too. I am a happy camper.
I loaded H81210n.
Anyone reading do note that I did not use the Verizon files above.

What you must do is tick the update and select the kdz file. Then close LGUP, open it again and select refurbish and kdz file should be there. Start the load.
This phone with L and root is perfect. No M for me until root (if it happens). Really enjoy having the changed DPI with root and no permanent notification for Priority mode.
You can DL from here, without "liking" anything. http://www.droidopinions.com/download-lgup-tool/

*edit* sorry did not mean to quote the person above me. I'm asking about actually getting from MM back to LP
Hate to ask this but has anyone verified this? I'm wanting to do this to mine tonight but I don't have near the experience a lot of others do here.
I did this without any problems at all

I haven't done it just yet. And I know I'm not the smartest here. But to my knowledge yes you will lose everything. So always good to back up all your files. I've got all my photos backed up to google photos. over 5000 lol. But yeah from what I understand it's the same as doing a factory reset except instead of factory resetting back to MM you're factory resetting to LP.

OK, I did mine last night and using the refurbish mode as said does in fact delete all data.
((TO MODERATOR CAN WE GET THE ORIGINAL POST UPDATED TO INCLUDE THAT TO LOCATE THE KDZ FILE YOU NEED TO FIRST TICK THE UPGRADE CIRCLE)) I found it down the thread, But just figured it would be easier for others if it was included in the original post. Thanks
Big ups to everyone who made this happen!

Hey sorry but the www.lgkdz.com doesn't work. Is there another site we can find all lg firmware to downgrade for our exact lg variant match....
From OP second 1), try : http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G4/
or check the XDA G4 section for your variant.
Thank you for your response. I did actually download the H812 kdz from storagecow however when I put it in the LGUP tool it read as an error in the tot file. I'm not sure what happened or where I went wrong. I'm so confused at this point and without my G4 being unuseable at this time. I also wanted to ask if the kdz you directed me to are in fact the file I need to go back to LP from MM?

Lock Screen Missing Features

Hello everyone. I have recently discovered that my LG G3 (32 GB model, running Android 5.0) has some missing features in the lock screen. The "None" feature which disables the lock screen completely was missing but for some reason it showed up when I deleted the Guest in my phone. I also know from various photos on the internet that the LG G3 has a function where you can unlock your phone by letting it recognise your face. This "Face Recognition" feature is also missing and I haven't managed to find a way to get it back. Can someone help me?

Face Recognition is removed from most of phones nowadays, because easily somebody else can unlock your phone with his face..
And as I've seen some companies are developing this feature.
For the "none" i think in 5.0 LG removed it.(I'm not really sure about that)well you can use "swipe" for now.
Also why don't you upgrade to 6.0?It has the "None" for the lock screen and also it has really great performance!
Yeah well I've tried to upgrade it to Marshmallow but I don't know how. I tried LG pc suite but that didn't work. Do you know how to do it?

Not necessary
Before starting you may need to backup your photos, etc.
Go to Settings then "Backup and Reset" then you will see "LG Backup" click on it and make the backup. After all these steps move your backup file to yiur SD Card or to your PC.(Go to File Explorer then to the folder "LG backups")
So let's go on..!
Go here and select the first one.
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G3/Stock/D855/Android+6.0/
Then go over here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
And scroll down to "How to flash ROM kdz method"
Enable usb debugging
https://www.recovery-android.com/enable-usb-debugging-on-android.html#part1
Connect your phone to your PC
Download Lg drivers(Not Verizon one's!)
Download Lguptool, unzip it,open the folder and inside of it where all the lguptool files are located move the kdz file that you downloaded.
Open lguptool with admin prompt!
Select type CMDA and phone mode DIAG
Select the kdz file and click "CSE Flash"
Then click "start"
A menu will appear, select language and click "Ok"
After all these steps you will need to wait till the phone boots.
Then you will be able to root your phone and flash ROMs!
Good luck!
(A "thank you" would be really appreciated!)
Thanks! I really appreciate you helping me! But do I need to root my phone in order to do that?

No there is no need to Root your device.Only follow the guide that i made.
Okay! Now that I got back my computer I can do it. I just have one more question. My phone will be updated by installing custom roms? Will that wipe off my phone's guarantee? Because it lasts for two more years and I don't want to lose it now.
