I think it has to be the same RM, download the Nokia Data Package Manager, and search for your RM-number you should be able to load any of the ROMs available there, go for the one with the highest firmware number

Hi John,
You won't be able to flash your AT&T phone with that firmware because your phone is RM-808 PC 059M7R4. Whereas the firmware you're looking at is meant for a RM-823 PC 059N4K5. So it won't work on your device. Not to mention that this firmware is a SWAP package which are only used by Nokia when changing motherboards in their phones before the original product code can be re-programmed (if they could be bothered).
You could ask at your nearest Nokia Care point if they can install any additional languages to your phone which I know they can do that for Symbian phones but not sure for Windows phones.
Hi all!
I have a question.
Is there any chance, or is there anybody who succesfully flash RM-823 rom on RM-808.
Do you have any ideas how to change these number? I don't care about LTE, because I don't have it in my country, so I would be really grateful if you help me.
Thanks
Vasek
You can't. The 7.8 update should be on Navifirm soon.
Well but I also need it due to language. So I hope there must be some kind of way how to do it...via registry edit or smthg like that?.

Nope. It's the bootloader that's blocking you from doing it. You should be able to install languages with the cab sender, but I have no idea. Never done it.

You don't care about the LTE, but your phone is an LTE device, so whether you care or not, still your phone is different from RM-823. You have to wait for your variant or buy a non-LTE phone so you can flash it right away. as far as i know, its not because of the number (eg: rm-823,rm-808), so even if you change the number, no you still can't flash the RM-823 variant. an LTE device require a different driver than RM-823.
ps: and yes, like exiva said, if your variant is out on navifrm, you gonna have to unlocked your bootloader to be able to flash the 7.8 update.

Confirmed CAN NOT!
Cause I tried.
well, so when I flash the same bootloader as 823 has...it would be possible, but if I can't flash it, it is not.
MyOpicWorm - how did you try it and when did you end? What was the problem or error which you got please?
Thanks

Yes it is, but it is also surely GSM mobile, because there are no LTE devices in our country. There is only GSM, so it must be also GSM, that was what I tried to say.
I don't care about it, because I don't need it. Understand?

as far as i know, RM-808 is an LTE phone..if your phone is GSM, it should be RM-823..i dont know, mybe im wrong
If you can change the product code to one of RM-823, then you can flash 823 to 808 and vice versa. On Symbian device, I did a few times. However, I could not find any software which can change the product code for Luma 900 yet.
It would be superb if you find any software which can do it. I also googled and binged many pages, but can't find solution

They are different hardware and it's not possible. nor would you want to really. why are you wanting to do this?
Cause I would like to have my language (0405-Czech) there. And I don't know how to do it.
I downloaded both roms via navifirm, but don't know what now. I also downloaded CAB file, but no chance how to send it to phone. Cab sender says that no update available...so any help please?

You can't install another firmware if it is not suitable for your device.
Upgrade it to 8858 and after you have to install all the updates your language until 8858.

The ATT Lumia does both 3G and LTE.
Even if you could flash the ROM on it, most likely = bricked phone due to different hardware

First of all please search before opening new thread, this question has been asked too many time..you can't yet flashig AT&T phone bcoz no variant support RM-808 as of now. AT&T device has an LTE connection which is different from RM-823 phone. even if you can change the product code, RM-823 variant don't have an LTE driver and will likely brick/no connection for call, sms, online your phone. All you can do right now is wait for RM-808 variant to come out. Nothing can be done.
More than that, while you can't change the product code. It's more than the code, it's the signature checked against the bootloader.

Hello everyone,
before all sorry for my english.
I wanna buy a Z1c but atm I found only a carrier branded version. There is a way to debrand? I really hate the branded software. European device.
Thanks

Which country are you located? If you buy from Sony Mobile there wasn't any carrier and its Unlock. So, no branding at all. It just came with Sony preloaded software.
Otherwise, you could get it here and shipped to you.

Hi, Italy here. The Italians Carrier wil brand devices with the StartUp logo and some bookmarks.
Same issue for me.
I've ordered an Z1 Compact and I got a TIM branded device, now I need to understand if I should ask for a replacement or I can debrand without any risk.
You could flash an unbranded firmware to get rid of any software branding. Just make sure your device doesn't have a SIM lock or similar: dial *#*#7378423#*#* (*#*#service#*#*), then go to Service info, SIM lock.
Read (!! not just browse) the Resource Thread for further instructions.
