1) try the bugless beast thread/forum
2) return to stock to see if that fixes the issue
3) if it does, stay on stock or try a different rom
Hi to all,
since I bought my T520 I noticed its very slow reaction when I try to wake it up from standby. Doesn't matter if I push the HOME or POWER button. Maybe it's one or two seconds that the tab needs to wake up... sure it's not a "long" time but it s*cks!
I use the stock kernel and debloated TW roms. Does anyone else have this "problem" ?
Thanks for you help :good:

My T520 is the exact same way. My wife also has a T520 and hers does not have this issue. Only difference is mine is rooted (running stock) and hers is not. I wanted to be able to access my SD card for apps.
I have a rooted SM-T520, running GraveD ROM, and I also see the same wake up lag.
I don't remember how it was on non-rooted stock ROM, though.

Me too.
hmm... so I guess nobody's got an idea how to solve it.
I've a SM-T700 Tab S 8.4 running lollipop, and I've recently noticed a bug. I don't know if it's new since the lollipop upgrade, but I didn't notice it before.
I often use it to read in the dark, so I turn the brightness down and set the touch keys to never light up. However, after a while the lights come on and stay on until the setting is altered again.
Anyone else getting a similar issue?
Hi! I think it's a common bug. I have the same problem and read that many people have it.
I'm not aware of any permanent solution, so for now i keep mine at 1.5 seconds (I'd prefer them off, but thats the best I could find!)
PS: Sorry for my English!
No need to apologize. Your English is perfect.
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Free mobile app
If the problem's widespread, what devices/ROMs has it been seen on? Is it Galaxy-specific, I wonder.
Same issue here

Same problem here, only on mine the only way I've found to turn them off once they come on is to restart the device. What a hassle.
I have the same problem, regardless of what I set the duration to. It never did this under Kitkat.

Hi! I have same problem with Brazil version also.
Might it be related to that version only?

could possibly be... anyone with this issue not on the Brazil version?
Yes, same problem here with my new Samsung Tab S 8.4 SM-T700, stock 5.0.2
Putting it to 1.5 secs is the best I can do for now. I'm looking around on the app store to see if there's a different app to control this that might work (aside, the Galaxy S6 came with no way to turn these off and you have to use a separate app to do this).

No need to restart/reboot, for me if I change the setting to something else (e.g., 1.5 secs etc) and then back to OFF it'll work for a while before it stays on permanently again.

I tried that with mine... won't work: no matter what I change the setting to they just stay on until I restart the device. I created a ticket with Samsung support last week, but no response from them so far.
Ah .. ok, that's interesting, thanks for sharing. Hopefully Samsung will issue a fix in the next update. Nice tablet otherwise.
I'm sure most, if not all, knew this, but it is definitely a software issue. I flashed CM 12.1 the other day and the touch keys stay off. Perhaps someone can look into the stock firmware and see if there's a way we can fix it ourselves?
Hey guys, I've had the same bug since upgrading to Lollipop and I found out it seems to be a bug with the power saving mode. If I turn it off, the bug stops happening. I'm also testing power saving mode with the "turn key lights off" option unchecked, and it seems to be working ok. This option can be found under settings, power saving, restrict performance.
I'll keep testing. If anyone tests it too please reply with your findings!

I never use power saving mode, because I'm almost always near a charger, and I also had this issue. I don't think power saving mode has much to do with it. Not directly, at least.
Hi, I'm not using power savings mode, but have the same problem, so I'm not sure this mode is a factor (at least a sole factor).
Hi to all.
Somenone previously suggested this app:

I've been using it with and without power saving mode for 4 days and so far so good.

Hi,
I suggested this app earlier upstream, however, it ended up not working for me. Not sure how it's working for you, but happy it is. (FWIW, I never use power savings)
Hello guys i have upgrade my note 3 neo n750 to lolipop 5.1.1 and i am facing this issue my phone hang for few seconds after screen lock.
PLEASE HELP ME :crying:
The issue is actually as big as your font size. Many ppl have posted solutions...I tried them all but none worked. Even that kernel auditor one. None worked for me.. on both my n7505 n bro's n750
I can confirm that there is no solution at the time
The same here with a N7505.
CoolTool process monitor says: 100 % CPU load, process: "system_server"
Screen lag fix
Actually there is a solution. Just turn on power saving and freezing stops. Worked for my n7505

In one of the topics in here they said to put the oxygenOS rom as default and it works fine for me.
Yes oos oreo works oos pie may not work.. And if you want to use custom roms then you need to flash mcd kernel
How do you try to wake up the device? Double tap to wake? Power button? Fingerprint sensor? you can try to narrow down the issue defining a recurrent pattern....I had that issue from time to time, in my case i was unable to wakeup the device in any way...was some sort of power saving configuration that putted the phone so low in performance it was almost freezed. For example when phone was idling for few minutes and screen turned off i had no issues, in comparison with the phone idling for an hour or so, the issue randomly appeared.....you have to try to define a behaviour pattern to define the causes
