Hi! I have an issue. I wanted to give my tablet a boost, and I decided to do the autoroot method. The first time, everything was fine. However, when I tried flashing a custom rom and then going back to the stock rom, the issues began. Since this is my first post, I can't post any pictures, so if you want them, send me a message and I'll send them to you via email. The list of random appearing symptoms include:
White status bar
Random colored (depending lf the last app used) recent apps buttons
White patch over wifi and battery icons
White flash on the top left of the screen when there are notifications
Please help me! I 've tried:
Wipe
Stock firmware reinstall
Recovery wipe and reinstall
Change kernel
Etc...
Thanks for your time and support.

Ok so i have one of the weirdest bugs ever.
Background:
I was running stock rooted rom w/out cwm for about a week. (i had rooted using cwm then installed superuser and then flashed a stock kernel over that so i was rooted, but stock.)
On October 4th i realized that any playlist i made in the music app were dissapearing after a reboot. While troubleshooting that, i realized that ANY changes i made to the phone (Installing apps, downloading files, text message and phone logs) would be erased after a reboot. Furthermore, any files i delete form internal sd reappear after a reboot.
Every time i reboot my phone it goes to the exact configuration it was on October 3rd. The phone still makes calls, uses web, texts, has the apps that were installed prior to oct 3rd etc... just it resets to that every time i reboot.
Things ive tried to fix it:
I have tried using Odin to go to flash a stock kernel, cwm kernel, and countless other kernels. The Odin flash goes through like normal, and it says success and the phone reboots; however, in about phone the kernel is the same and the config of the phone is still Oct 3rd. So that means that even though the odin says it flashed successfully, there is nothing actually being flashed.
Since i am stock i have also tried doing a factory reset and wiping cache through the stock android recovery, again these act like they have done the restore, but when the phone boots it is still in oct 3rd configuration.
I have just ordered a usb jig today, should have it by friday and i will update to see how that works.
I have posted this thread for informational purposes. I dont think anyone else has this problem, or what has caused this problem. It might very well be some user error on my part. Just posting this in case someone else encounters this in the future.
If you have any ideas/suggestion on how to fix this please let me know.
I know that i can just take to sprint and get exchanged but i first want to try to see if i can fix on my own, and since the phone still functions to make calls, texts and everything else its not a super major problem, except that any new stuff i add to my phone disappears.
This is NOT a "How do i return to stock thread?" as i plenty know how to do that. Its more of a two part question.
1.) Changed the lock screen banner on AOKP i believe it was, and then did the usual wipe before flashing (data/cache/dalvik/format system) and flashed several new roms. Wiped in between each. Each kept this custom text. Next thought was it could have been stored in the radio, so i flashed a lower radio, rebooted, flashed newer radio to no avail. Still said custom text on lock screen, no matter what rom. Flashed back to a rom with the option to edit it, changed it to Verizon Wireless, back to stockish look then. Guess the question is, does anyone know where exactly this text is stored?
2.) Every-so-often i take my phones back completely stock and wipe all memory. Just gives me a feeling of cleanliness. Fastboot flashed all my stock 4.0.2 images (radios, bootloader, recoveries) and did the update step, with reboots where needed. Took it all the way stock except for relocking. Once i was on 4.0.2, installed CWM touch and got IMMK76K rooted stock and newest radios. Noticed my notification blinking light was still blue from the last rom i flashed. I know i can easily change the color using an app/rom, but the question being is why did it carry over the led indicator color from a past rom when i took it all the way back stock. Where is this stored that it magically wasn't over-written by fastboot flashing all the stock images?
Long post, sorry.
Some time ago, I've tried to download some game from android market, but shortly after it finished, "process.google.acore has stopped" appeared. After showing up rapidly a few times, the error forced my phone to shut down.
After rebooting (CM 11 installed with 6.0.4.8 CWM) and unlocking the screen lock, the error showed up again. After dismissing it, I got another "google.process.gapps has stopped" and then "google Keep has stopped". Some seconds later, there was an error notification in the status bar (backup account needed) and another bunch of errors. I was unable to even get to the drawer, because the erorrs were showing one after another instantly. Finally, the phone crashed (I think...) by suddenly displaying cyanogenmod boot screen (it was stuck this way for 3 hours before the battery ran out). I tried rebooting it again a few times, but with the same outcome every time.
My first guess was to re-flash CM11. After full wipe and install from zip (no errors) the phone booted up... right into the system I was using minutes before, with the same wallpaper, pattern lock, theme and problem described above. Then, I tried some solutions found online such as:
1. flashing CWM (no effect; even worse, when I tried flashing older version to see if anything changed, it was still the newest one!)
2. flashing diffrent ROM (liquid-smooth, no effect, still CM11)
3. flashing stock kernel
4. flashing stock ROM
I gave up for two weeks, but today I tried again flashing CM11, but I received status 7 error (liquid-smooth got "some syslinks are missing")
I'm slowly running out of ideas, now I just want my phone to run ANYTHING. Please help me, because I think I tried every solution from XDA and nothing worked.

No effect, CM11 still shows up after boot
Isn't the syslinks problem due to a broken NAND memory? That's what I've gathered from the problems cropping up recently.
The best thing to do is contact the ROM developer.

Hi everyone,
Looking for a solution to my stock, unrooted M8. Carrier - EE.
Android 6.0/Sense 7.0. Software 6.12.61.4
Have had the phone nearly two years so undertook a factory reset to clear it out. Initiated factory reset through settings in the normal UI.
Factory reset completed. Got the welcome screen etc. However, no nav bar, no status bar (with clock, battery at top), and no notification pull-down. Black screen (no default wallpaper), but all standard apps present.
Attempted factory reset again from bootloader. This time, as soon as it booted to the home screen, I got the error com.android.systemui has stopped unexpectedly. Regardless of whether I pressed "send" or "don't send" error report to HTC, the error message disappears and it begins to flash between a black screen and the default sense 7.0 wallpaper - but no sign of apps, icons, etc. The power button is responsive and displays the power off/restart options.
Reset a third time from stock recovery menu. Same result. Have also tried clearing cache, etc.
Weirdly, it optimises what I take to be a number of default apps each time during the factory reset - don't know if that's normal or not.
I'm assuming that my copy of the OS in the recovery partition has got buggered up somehow. But I'm new to this whole flashing/rooting business and most of the guides I've found seem to presuppose that I'm trying to get back to stock from having rooted my phone and installed something else, and I don't really understand them.
So -
1. any ideas about what's happened/how to fix it? I've spoken with HTC but they want me to send it in. 2-3 weeks!
2. assuming that I just need to reinstall a clean version of the software, how do I go about doing that? How do I know what the right version is, and where do I get it? Can I reinstall it without rooting the phone and installing a custom bootloader?
I did have a hunt through previous threads. The closest I found was this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/ui-htc-one-m8-t3024485 but it still leaves me uncertain about how to find the right software and actually install it.
Thanks very much in advance.
Michael
Okay, solved - somehow.
Formatted and removed SD card, just in case. Factory reset again, no joy.
Then also removed sim card, and factory reset again from stock recovery. This time performed cache wipe immediately before factory reset - whereas before I'd wiped cache, restarted, confirmed error still present, then factory reset as a second step.
Systemui and nav/status/pull-down bars all present as normal this time.
I find it hard to believe that the presence of the sim card could have made a difference, so I assume that the cache wipe and then immediate restart did the job.
Anyway, resolved now. Happy days.
This has happened a few time with different roms. Shortly after installing a rom the screen will flash colors across the screen for a second .Sometimes reddish or a yellow or blue.
It will startle you and I can not figure out how to fix it . I have re-flashed the rom ( does not work ) Most of the time an older version will help. This time however after flashing a Lineage Rom ,that flashed I reinstall a backup that is of another developer & it stopped for about a day, then it did it again but only once so I don't think its all rom.
ANY ONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE & CAN YOU HELP ME
THANKS
Can anyone explain the same issue, but at one very special condition: ro.config.low_ram=true? When I set this on Unlegacy 7.1, I get red flashes (or even a solid red background) on my lockscreen (its actual background is blue) and in some other windows (but not on the desktop).
