Hi
I've rooted my LG G4 H818P and fine tuned my settings (CPU/GPU clock, CPU/GPU governor, radio auto disabling and so on).
Now I can easily go past 24 hours with one charge (stock battery) and with at least 40% left.
I've changed from chrome to dolphin hoping it would be way more battery friendly. It is, but not that much. Dolphin still drains at least 18% of my entire power budget. As I can't optimize much the screen consumption, browser is the next one on the list.
So, does anyone knows of a really battery friendly web browser?

Sorry just bought g4. Love dolphin too.
Can you share a newbie guide for battery optimizing? And I want to know how to feed the dolphin less. Did you have tried some of the previous versions of the dolphin? What kind of dolphin do you use - there are many of them, dolphin HD, etc.
Sorry for my bad English.
That's not a problem of the LG, but a problem of Dolphin...on former devices of mine, it drained much battery, too. That's why I changed my browser to Yandex and now it's fine
Things need to be switched off in Dolphin:
- UX program support;
- Dolphin notification;
- Dolphin Gestures - Sonar settings: Shake detection.

Or use Dolphin zero

I do realize that most of you don't read Chinese, but Baidu has just release its new browser shell for Windows Phone - "Baidu Browser".
I do find loading pages incredibly quick due to server side rendering. More importantly, however is its interface. The browser has a Speed Dial for a home page which makes accessing certain pages frequently a breeze and the much needed back and fourth buttons make navigation that much easier. It also support up to 12 tabs and orientation lock which are nice bonuses.
And no, I am NOT the developer so DON'T sent me feature requests.

Very cool looking browser
Sent from my LG 2X using xda premium app. Sorry 4 bad English :/
Ok, but is it available for outside China?
What about UI language?
Read a news a couple days ago that this china search engine doesn't follow fair and serious business principles and offer fraudulent search results. It's not worth trusting. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2157891/cctv_baidu_help_fake_drugs_running_rampant/

If this has server side rendering, we can't really consider it a browser shell, can we?

I am in the US, so yes, it's available outside of China.
the browser can use in outside of china ,but it fit chinese . i hope it have english version
This looks fantastic.
edit: tested it out - due to everything being Chinese I can't get into the options and change anything (like turning it into English). And it appears that it is portrait locked by default. Other than that, rendering seemed slower than having the phone do it, and scrolling was choppy.
Hopefully someone can give us a guide to making this English before I pass final judgement on it.

can't the text size be standardized?

Umm....which fonts? Which sizes?
most threads.
I wish I could post a link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1945582
here is an example.
the first two are small, and the third is GOOD! (at least from my Note 2 screen)
I find myself constantly having to zoom in and out & scrolling to read it all.
It would be so much easier to read if it was all the same size.
Thanks for listening.

Pretty sure that's down to your browser not the site. Chrome does this for me but Dolphin doesn't ( an older version of dolphin BTW).

Or theme maybe? This is on desktop, both Chrome and Firefox. The 2013-1024 theme has weird fonts for the menus and also the items under the Quick Links is a little off layout (not in screenshot, can get you one if needed).
Thanks!
I'm using Firefox. I'll try a different one.

Wow I know this is pretty old now but it was a life saver.
The 2013 theme is terrible for chrome android. The font sizes are really messed up. Half of them are too tiny to read. Im surprised this isnt a bigger issue for people.
I spent the last two days testing other browsers trying to find something I like to solve this problem because most browsers work fine with 2013 theme
Theres just no other browser that doesnt fail in some area for me. So finding that changing to 2010 fixes the font size issue is fantastic.
...
What would be even better is if XDA could fix their site to work with chrome because the 2013 definitely looks better overall. In the meantime however. YAY! thanks
ClockHub v1.6
This is final public release of this well-known application. Much delayed due to problems that couldn't be prevented/resolved that fast.
In comparison with version from ROMs such as Dynamics 2.0, RainbowMod 2.1 etc, this version has lower battery consumption, higher rendering performance and compatibility with WP7 Root Tools.
It is the same version as in Dynamics 2.2, RainbowMod 2.2 roms.
Terms of usage are the same as for Dynamics ROM.

does that mean that when I lock my phone I have to be on the screen which shows different BING pictures, and not on the default home screen?

either locked, or (if unlocked) in any different program. Not "tiles", not start menu
Rendering is performed if
1) device is unlocked
2) device is on start screen
Triggers:
1) switch to start screen
2) time changed (minutes/hours/date/timezone)
so it isn't hard to understand how to deal with ClockHub.
Hey guys I have a problem, I been getting really bad battery life while Web browsing using the stock Web browser, I tracked the problem down to Com.android.browser:sandboxed it's using more power than my screen is while I'm on xda on my phone (see screenshot below).
I'm just wondering if anyone knows if I can disable this or if anyone knows how to stop this from suckin up all my juice other than use another Web browser?
Here's a pic of my battery from just browsing xda:

It's a part of the stock web browser, You can't freeze or uninstall it, You can only freeze or uninstall the entire stock web browser using TiBu.
I can avoid the issue alltogether by just not using the stock web browser, But i believe it's the only 2k web browser at the moment.
Just sitting on youtube.com (video is paused) my battery is draining about 1% every 1 to 3 minutes on 0% brightness.
While on xda my phone drains about 1% every 1 to 3 minutes (depending on the page?? it seems like) on 0% brightness.
If i close the web broswer my battery drain goes down to 1% every 9 minutes on 0% brightness.
In any case, The stock browser + the sandboxing that the stock browser does is eating up to 50% of my battery while using the stock web browser. (This happens on both WiFi & LTE)
Is anyone else having this issue?? I think it could be caused by somthing i debloated.
I don't use it at all so I don't have that issue. Chrome is Mich better even though it's not 2k it works well without massive battery drain. Chrome beta suffers a similar issue, but there are always updates to fix it. If you really want to use the stock LG browser then I'm sure someone can figure out a fix, but I would use chrome, Firefox, or dolphin until then.
I received the Google Play store notification for Samsung Internet 4. I updated and verified it is the version that is compatible with Adblock Fast.

adblock fast works great with this browser. similar to the various content blockers for safari.

I sideloaded this on my tab s 8.4, works great EXCEPT I don't have the "block content" option. adblock fast doesn't with on the tab as a result.
I have been using adblock fast for iOS on my work iPhone, much simpler than the other content blockers I've tried.
Tried it. Awesome browser. Went back to Chrome because of my cross device bookmarks and saved usernames and passwords. The Samsung browser is much quicker from what I've noticed. And tabs within the browser instead of having to use the multitasking capacitive key is much nicer.

You know you can change the chrome tab integration in the settings so it doesn't live with open apps.
SwiftKeyed from my Note 5 via Tapatalk. Don't judge my errors.
I've started using crystal on both Samsung and iOS for ad blocking. seems to allow faster page loads.
What's up guys.. Actually this is the lastest samsung browser... It's on apkMirror site
