LG G4 running Rogers 10h version, Android 5.1
Rooted and running Xposed/Gravitybox
Prior to today, I was having no problems with volume control for media when screen is off (switching tracks with volume buttons, volume display, etc)
For some unknown reason, I do not have the same control for media with the screen off.
I also do not have the volume display panel showing anymore when I press the volume buttons to change the ringtone/notification volume.
I can't think of anything that I've done to cause this to happen. I suppose I could do a backup/restore but I'm worried that a backup now may end up restoring the bad setting if it's actually a setting that is stopping the panel from showing.
Any thoughts?

ok, so i upgraded my HTC dash to 6.5 and every time i want to listen to music the volume is really low. is there a way to fix it?
turn of your joggr bar and make sure your system volume is all the way up, common mistake
Tried it but the volume is still really low
i would check the volume in WMP (assuming that's what you are using). when you are in the player screen, check the volume % in the lower right hand side. you can use the JOGGR bar or the up and down navigation keys to adjust it.
I thought I saw an app somewhere that would let you change the behaviour of the Volume Buttons so that pressing volume down would lower ALL volume types (and not exclude alarms/music).
I don't want an app with an onscreen widget or anything as I like to adjust volumes without unlocking the phone, or even looking at it (easy to adjust volume while in pocket etc..)
The default behaviour of the Samsung S3 is that it reduces/raises all volumes EXCEPT alarms and music, which I can understand for some people, but if I put my phone in vibrate via volume... i do NOT expect to hear a peep from it.
Anyone seen a hack or an app that will do this?
Is anyone else genuinely annoyed with the fact there is no volume lock option on this device? When I want to lower the volume with the rocker on say the lock screen, only the ringer volume goes down, and I have to click the gear icon to manually adjust the volume for the notificatons/media/etc.
I know there are manual volume profile apps/widgets out there, but maybe I'm just old school and want to use the rocker to adjust my volume down for all possible audio output at once.
Any workarounds known out there?
My volume buttons will only adjust the call volume, even when I'm not in a call.
Yesterday I was listening to music and tried to adjust the volume from the lockscreen, but when I did the phone adjusted the phone volume instead. So I went into my music player app and tried there, same result. I pressed the volume again, and this time expanded the volume panel, and was able to adjust the volume from there. I then started playing around with the volume to see what it would do. I toggled vibrate/mute and the volume panel showed no change in the phone volume. It was after this that I noticed that the label on the volume panel next to what was normally the ringtone volume read "call volume" instead. I figured it was a weird one-time glitch, so I rebooted. No change. Pulled the battery, success! But a few minutes later I had the issue again. Hard reset again, same result. So it seems my phone thinks it is always in call.
I can only adjust music volume from the panel and only adjust ringer volume from the sound settings.
Any ideas as to why it is doing this?
Problem solved!
Apparently having www.weavesilk.com open in my chrome browser was causing the problem. I closed the weavesilk tab and my volume works just fine now. Weird.
Hello, I have searched for this for some time now, but I cannot find any app to do it:
I want to use the volume buttons to change volume profiles.
This way I can create these profiles:
- Silent
- Vibrate
- Soft (ringer, notifications and media)
- Normal (ringer, notifications and media to a 'normal' volume)
- loud (all volume channels a bit louder)
- max (all volume channels louder, some on max)
Changing should not cycle, zo when pressing the Volume+ several times the 'max' profile is chosen and keeps chosen.
Who knows an app that can do this?
Anybody that knows an app or softmod which can do this?
I only see apps with shortcuts on the desktop or from notification bar, but redirecting the volume buttons like this is nowhere to be seen...
There's a defect issue for Android with a request to force the buttons to change a specific volume channel, but that's still something different.
I would love to know how Tasker can use the buttons immediately, without only noticing the volume chance of channels. This way I can make my own tasker task with the volume button up and down.
Currently I am investigating 'Quick click' (downloadable from app store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blor.quickclickgold)
It at least looks promising - the rest can be done via Tasker, I think
