I don't know of battery cases, but I know of "clip on" (more like suction cup on) batteries that piggy back on the case/device. I have one of those myself.

Thats the only one I found as well. Was hoping to find a TPU one.
There was one custom one floating around which I saw on ebay, but i read that it covers the front camera, and some people had problems pressing the buttons.

Ya its a pain in the ass to find anything for the aftermarket battery's and doors I ordered a silicone one to help protect my phone just sold my ballistic case sucks cause no holster for the extended batteyr unless u spent 60 on a seidio batt and there gear which is over priced Chinese battery's work just the same if not the same thing my OEM battery from sprint was made in China hope more cases come out so we are not forced to by from one company.

I have a silicon case that I am planning to make two cuts in with a razor which will fit over the extended battery. If only I ever used my extended battery...
The seidio big rugged yada yada yada case works with the chinese extended batteries you just leave the back off your phone. The camera is exposed but its always exposed and the case sits close enough that the battery doesn't fall out.

P.s. its not really called the yada yada yada I just don't remember its exact name. It comes in four pieces: back, skin, part that snaps over/around skin, and holster. I know thats a lot of technical terms but it gives you the idea.

I just bought this yesterday and seemed to be the best price for what you get. The only thing is that they shipped the 80 something cents screen protectors first WTF. I wanted the 80 something dollars worth of cases first. lol Still feel good about this investment.
You can modify the ballistic hc to fit the extended batteries, theres a thread around here somewhere.

I modified the Ballist HC but its a lot of work and you risk damaging it. Also I have the Seidio ext rugged and like it. Its built better than the standard rugged and I don't have a problem using the notifications menu bar like I do with the Ballistic. I don't care for the Seidio holster though. Rick
I modified my ballistic as well but the sanding and grinding was more complicated than I thought so I just cut a hole in the back to fit the battery door and I can use my stock kickstand and it looks good with the silicon/ rubber case on top of it. I prefer the seidio locking clip to the ballistic, it gives me more security when I lock the phone in it, I wish the ballist had this.

My issue with the seidio holster is if you have a jacket etc. on it gets caught on the top clip of the holster. Hey there's another reason to move to a warm climate, ha-ha
P.S. good idea with cutting through the back, that would allow me to use the 3500 battery instead of the sprint 2600

Thinnest case for extended battery Nexus ?

Just bought the extended battery at Verizon for half off, also walked out with the Incipio double case. This case feels tough and sure can take s beating, great for outdoor work and kids dropping my phone. But this case is a little too thick for my liking.
But on weekends or going out would like a second thinner case. What thin cases fit the extended battery ? Anything like the Feather or Rearth slim fit ?

I just use ghost armor full body, and then I use a belt clip pouch that I drop my phone into. It is the slimmest option, I protect the whole phone from scratches, and I can keep it on my side. I'm not really worried about dropping it, because even with a case if you drop it in the right spot, you will end up with a broken phone. That's what insurance is for. At least that's my opinion. I hope this helps.
I just picked up the Diztronic case below and it fits great and doesn't add much thickness to the phone- nice and thin. I don't have my extended battery yet but per the reviews this case fits, just a little more tightly which is fine with me.

+1 on the Diztronic 3rd revision case. I am running it and I love it. I have 3 other cases and this is now my daily driver. You can even leave the extended battery cover on too. I use the Incopio when I need extra protection.
Also a big +1 on the Diztronic rev 3 case. Full access to all controls, full protection yet thin. Just about perfect as far as cases go and I have tried a few.
Diztronic has very upstanding customer service to boot!

I've been bugging Rearth about making their RingKe case to fit the Verizon w/ extended battery. This case has been getting a lot of accolades here...
With the Verizon extended battery going for $24.99, it should just come standard with the phone. At such a cheap price, and only adds like a business card extra thickness it is so worth it. Plus you may get up to 2 extra hours on it over stock.
Point being, with extended battery so popular, I would hope case companies realize this, and pump out cases that are officially designed for it.

My local Verizon store didn't have any in stock but they ordered it for me w/ free 2-day shipping. Still $24.99
I went into the biggest Verizon store in my area, called first asked if they had the Nexus extended battery, they said YES, and tons of accessories too. Go in there and they said the battery is 50% off, they had like 4 on the shelf. Just call the largest Verizon store in your area, I am sure they stock them.
I am using the phone today with no case, crosses fingers The Incipio 2pc case was just way too bulky for me, felt like a my old EVO 4G which was a giant. Back to caselsss and this phone looks awesome, the gray color makes this phone looks stealth, like something a pilot from F-22 Raptor plane would have in the cockpit I just want a razor thin case to go around this now.
Oddly enough I tried the High gloss silicone Verizon case and its is really nice. feels thin in the hand
I use the SGP capsule case. Its clearly designed for the GSM version because my Verizon + extended battery keeps the lips from grabbing the edges all the way.
But the phone is on there and not going anywhere. You'd have to really look at it to see what I'm talking about.
I'm still waiting for something specifically designed for the Verizon with extended battery.

Hopefully we get some news soon from the big case companies
Does anyone know if the Diztronic case works with the GSM Galaxy Nexus with an extended battery?
The best case I've tried period that also works with the extended battery is the Case-Mate Pop case. It was recalled initially due to a lack of clearance around the micro usb port. In about another two weeks they'll have the second revision out and it will be my daily driver.
I've tried the Case-Mate Tough Case, the Boxwave Active, the Boxwave Slim Rubberized Shell Case, and the Seidio Surface. The Pop case sucked less than the rest and fits the extended battery with good protection and minimal bulk.
can't comment if it's the thinnest, but it fits and looks good.

Tough time deciding on Tough case

Let me first say I know that there are many different threads on this topic and if there is a few I should view please point me in the right direction as I am new to the forum.
The type of case I am looking for is ultimate protection bulk does not matter.
Things I am looking for are: a front hard screen protector like the otterbox defender and ballistic maxx
A kick stand would be great as I am doing more media
The 3 cases I am looking at are
Otterbox Defender I have heard great things about but I prefer the silicone on the inside, hard case on the outside I think that would offer more protection.
Ballistic Maxx Good looking product but no kickstand and I had one on my EVO and was not pleased with the quality but that was 2 years ago.
Seidio CONVERT I really like the protect level and kickstand but no hard screen cover.
Any other cases I should be looking at?
Any input would be much appreciated Thanks.
Trident Kraken.... But no hard screen cover. Comes with a soft replaceable one. Had a removable metal kick stand, different color cases, silicon on the inside plastic on the outside. Also you can order a few different attachments that connect to the back of the case hence the removable kickstand.

Capdase case is slim fit. Although it is not as good as the protection offered by the Ballistic case, but it is slim fit and with a free screen protector in it. Worth trying!!:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I went with the ballistic maxx but there is no way I will use the provided screen protector. It creates a terrible sparkle effect and in my opinion wasn't even usable. I love the case though, it is easy to install/remove and protects the phone very well. The buttons are nice and the case doesn't get in the way of using the phone.
I bought a X-Gear Spectre glass screen protector and think it works well with this case. See my comments in that thread here:

There are some small issues with this product but I still think it is the best currently available.

Im going to have to disagree. First lets not forget while inside the hard case your phone is also resting on some type foam cushioning that Otterbox adds inside its hard plastic. I also prefer the silicone on the outside of the case cause if you do drop your phone, your case wont get digged up. I have replaced cases cuz they gotten scuffed up after a while. Also when dropping a phone it makes such a harmless sounds when it lands on the silicone. You won't even flinch when the phone drops you'll just pick it back up and just keep on truckin along.

I understand looks are a matter of opinion.
But how does it lack corner protection? There is big thick soft silicon on the corners... I have one and it's already survived a 7 foot drop and being kicked down a hall way.
And the defender's kickstand is the holster itself as where the kraken is a metal one attached to the case itself.... so with the defender you have to take the whole thing off your belt.

that video was not a real phone. It was a plastic or foam one. The few drops I've had every thing has stayed together.
But falling apart isn't a bad thing either, it's a way of dissipating the shock force.
The inner silicone layer is great protection as well.

I know when I had one for my Evo 3D there was a flap you had to open.
Let me know how the seidio case works out. I am not really concerned about screen protection in a case anyone as I plan on using the xgear spectre.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
The Seido Active is a nice case except for a couple things.
The volume buttons were a pain to press on mine (others say they don't have a problem).
The case has indentations on the sides that I thought would make it super grippy. But it's actually a little slippery.
The kickstand only works in landscape mode.
With that said, it's a great looking case that is easy to take off and put back on. And available for $27 shipped on eBay (as of last week).
Ok search narrows as I stated before I plan on using the xgear spectre screen protector.
Now just to figure out is the kraken the only heavy duty case with a kickstand?
I took a few second look at the kraken and it in fact has thicker corners than I previously thought. So definitely liking it more.

Otterbox Armor + extended batterg

Well. Ive done some seaeching and couldn't find anything so here I am.
Does anyone know of a way to make the extended battery compatible with Otterbox's Armor series cases. I have seen seberal modifications for the defender. Bht none for armor. And I don't want to not use this case, cause I know how rough I am on my phone and I know it'll break. But the battery just doesn't seem to cut it either.
Any ideas? Links? Anything?
Thanks!

You may have to remove some of this protective foam and also cut a hole through your Galaxy S3 back. Try to measure the difference and by doing this, at least a regular 3000mAh Samsung battery may fit inside.
Since I don´t own a Otterbox Armor Case and just a "simple" Otterbox Defender, I don´t have any possibility to perform this mod.

Is the 3000 the standard battery? I can't remember for sure. And I'm not looking for a 7000 ot anything crazy. I just need to be able to run a full day on heavy use.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
The 3000mAh battery is a bigger battery in comparison to the stock 2xxxmAh which is included with the S3 when you buy it. You may have to compare the stock battery and the enhanced battery in order to be sure if my idea would work out, to remove some of the protective foam or rubber or whatever this material is made off and to cut a hole through your S3 battery back.
Otherwise I´m not quite sure if I´d wish to perform some modding on a rather expensive case like the otterbox armor

Yea. That's what scares me. Lol. I have 65 bucks in this case. I'm willing to mod it. But it needs to work if I do. Lol

I've got both of these and I can confirm that the official Samsung 3000 mAh extended battery fits inside the Otterbox Armor case, if you leave the phone back off.
I haven't measured the difference in thickness, but it does seem to feel a little tighter when you clip the Otterbox on. How this might affect the waterproofing I don't know - and I'm not going to test it!
I can say that this has, if anything, improved the performance of the case. With just the standard battery and back there seemed to be a slight 'give' at the bottom of the case which made pressing the back button difficult - I would have to jab at the button or squeeze the case to get it to register. Now with the extended battery it works just fine - though you still have to poke it a bit since they made the opening for the back and menu buttons a little small for my chubby fingers!
As a follow on to my last post, I can also confirm that the armor is definitely not waterproof with the extended battery. Not even a little.

Indeed, looking for a battery door/plate, not a case
my current battery back is starting to crack in the two places i have magnets (for the touchstone mod).
i'm thinking a softer back would be less brittle and thus less prone to cracking...
so i'd be much obliged if someone could find one on ebay... which won't cost me $30
You could consider the xtremeguard full body film. I just installed one today and the grip is dramatically improved lol. I got it on ebay for $5 shipped, its a 2 piece kit. Screen and back
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
If you want to maximize grip to the touchstone dock, attach the xtremeguard to your phone, and another piece to the touchstone. The phone will grip really well to the touchstone.
As a side note, I've done the touchstone mod on the stock Sprint door, and the international version of the door, and the international battery door doesn't seem to crack from the deformation resulting from the magnets.
I haven't seen a battery cover other than the plastic one, i think your best bet would be one of those thin back cover.
