Hi,
Moved from a note 3 and so far loving the phone. However, I have noticed that when charging, the edge of the phone feels like it's vibrating. Is anyone else getting this? Is it normal?
Cheers
Bonganza
Doesn't happen with mine. Tried different cables and charger plugs?
I feel electrical current on the metal on my Z5P as well during charging. My phone came with the quick charger (denoted by the lightning symbol on the front of the charger). I can only assume this might be why, but tonight I'll try my standard Sony charger and see if it still feels the same.
Same here, but this also happened on my brothers old iPhone 5 .. I don't think it's dangerous...

Nope. I would suspect a bad charger that is not fully isolated.
Yeah think that's right, got a dodgy wall plug with built in usb chargers.

Hi there,
well, it depends a little bit which charger I use but one some I have the bad experience that when I have the phone connected to power the display just goes crazy. Means that as long as the display is turned on it pushed/touches automatically some areas in the display without stopping. So when I want to do something I have to disconnect the mobile first and than I can work with it.
As someone similar experience or knows how to solve it?
Thanks
Stephan
btw. it happens also with different mods
LOL same sh!t happened to me today too.
I moved in another USB slot from PC and seems that issue is gone. But until today I didn't had this issue. Maybe is the polarization +/- from the charger.
Happens to me also with an universal charger. Touchscreen is almost unusable while charging and laying on the table. But seems to work fine if I hold it with my hands (grounding the aluminium body). This happened also with my Motorola Defy with the same charger. But it didn't have any metal components on the outside so it didn't work correctly in the hand either.

Scary
Hehe, first time I saw this was so scary, ghost in the phone.
That should be the charger. I have two non original charges one of then with 1A and the other with less. First of then affects the screen sometime and the other never gave me that issue.
Hope this helps.
Yes. It's because of the voltage fluctuations that the screen starts to react weirdly. The same happens when you use a non-standard AC supply too. Don't keep using that charger and/or USB port for long though.. it will cause damage to your phone screen and more so to the battery.
Yes, specially with blackberry chargers

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S 2 X t989d running liquid smooth rc9
Haven't been able to charge it, with phone turned on, or off, battery will get up to maybe around 10, and then if left plugged in it actually uncharges. Started about 2 days ago when I used a dollar store cigarette lighter charger with a usb cable, and noticed after having it plugged in for about an hour, my battery of around 90% had gone down to 10%. It seemed to have been decharging.
For a month or two the micro usb input in the bottom has been slightly falty, as in certain charges/usb cables that don't fit snug have to be pulled in a certain angle in order to connect and start charging. Some cables fit snug and work fine.
Before I go looking for a new battery, is this for sure a battery problem? Anything I should do to diagnose/fix the problem?
If it's just the battery, will a telus store carry a replacement? Or where is the best place to go? Would prefer not to have to wait for shipping.
Thanks

Sounds more like a phone problem to me. The only battery issue that I know about is the bug that you can see in certain threads, where the phone won't charge if it's dead. In that case, you take out the battery for 10 minutes, then plug in the phone, then put the battery back in and let it charge.
Your problem seems different. However, i don't recommend dollar store chargers anyway. Try the charger and cable that came with your phone. If you need a new one, I would suggest getting one for your specific phone on eBay.
Beyond that, you've likely borked your usb port on your phone, either from using sub-standard cords, or perhaps someone has tripped over the wire while it was charging. These things happen but in that case you will have to have the phone replaced or repaired.
Well, I got it to fully charge. Oddly enough, right now the only thing that will charge it is my computer. The charger that comes with a phone, or my LG micro usb charger, or even my girlfriends pc, all seem to make the phone quickly discharge. Even when using the same usb cable that i plug into the LG charger, it works great on my computer.
I have a setting in my bios to make things charge faster through usb 3.0. I first tried without, then with, and both options work.
I think this must rule out that it's the micro usb port on the bottom of my phone. Using the same cable on different computers/plugs doesn't work. So it must be something weird with the battery, or maybe using that ****ty dollar store charger messed up how my rom/kernal is handling my battery?? Or does the rom/kernal even effect how a phone charges at all? I'm kind of confused..
I may try flashing a new rom. Any recommendations? Looks like liquid team is dead. Seemed to the best rom at the time, is there anything better now? Too many to test them all. Looking at all-star rom.. seems legit? pacman? What's stable and awesome?
I have played with so many of them... If you're looking to stay with the stock feel then try galaxy sbean - the unicef rom. Snappy and lots of goodies. Myself, I always come back to aokp. It's by far my favourite one out there.

Hi, i have my att galaxy s3, a year old, and rooted. it runs perfectly fine on illusion rom, been running that rom for a while. but all of a sudden a couple days ago it charges slow....i can leave it on the charger all night long, and it wont even be full anymore. i would say the battery is draining at a normal rate, i never really paid attention to it but i havent noticed drain issues. But charging is ridiculous, ive tried three different cables, one was a hardwired one, not usb. None of these make a difference, what can i do?

Hmm, most likely, it could your battery so I would look into a replacement from Samsung.com if you want an original Samsung made one or for a third party, these maybe:
http://www.amazon.com/warranty-Zero...UTF8&qid=1382406738&sr=8-6&keywords=zerolemon
Usually when it comes to charging, USB is my go-to but i'm assuming its pluged into the power adapter that came into the phone, right? If not, maybe look into buying a new one, maybe a 2 amp one for faster charging. Hope this helps a bit!
The other thing you can look at is if the USB port on the phone is dirty. My wife's S3 was randomly going into dock mode and not charging off of most cables. I used a small toothpick and some contact cleaner to clean it out. Remember to remove the battery and do not spray contact cleaner into the USB port. I sprayed it onto the toothpick and very carefully cleaned out the gunk. Good luck!

Got the new battery...same problem. ChRges slow. As for the charger I was using..yes it was the same one that the phone came with. I have tried a total of 4 different chargers. I just tried cleaning the contact pins with a safety pin(couldn't find a toothpick at the moment) I could t really pull out much dust but I'm gonna try charging again now.

I have been using my G3 with the following chargers.
1. CAR - http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.312.b3nISV&id=19923741183&_u=r5ljepd1b56
2. HOME - http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.298.b3nISV&id=2030530342&_u=r5ljepdfb71
For the CAR charger, the phone keep asking me place the phone in center of Hot Zone.
Or will charge for a few seconds and stops, and charge and stop...repeat.
For the HOME charger, it ask me to place the phone in center of Hot Zone, but once message disappear it charges fine.
I tried a long time and can't find the perfect spot.
Can someone point me to right HOT ZONE on the phone??

Hi, the same thing keeps happening to my g3 whenever I try and charge it wirelessly.
Just to ask did you buy one of the budget qi chargers?
I bought one for £7 on ebay, thing is it charges my Nexus 4 perfectly fine, just can't seem to get a good angle with my G3.
The price was the same as the link I posted. Around 30-40usd each. The charger is fine with my nexus as well just not g3.
Seem to me as though the charger coil on the g3 back cover is very small that is causing the issue.
Sent from my LG-F400S using XDA Free mobile app
Yeah I took the cover off my G3 to see if I could see any hint as to how big the coils were or where they were placed but couldn't really see anything.
Did you actually buy your chargers on taobao? I wouldn't trust anything on there to be of good quality.
Maybe the G3 has trouble working with cheap chargers, the proper LG one's i've heard work really well.
I was thinking of getting a better charger, perhaps one with 3 coils see if that makes a difference..
Yeah I got it directly off taobao, there wasn't a good selection of charger when I got the nexus. And especially it was so hard to find a good car charger.
Guess I have no choice but to get the official lg one now.

I have the same problem with a generic circular one. If the screen is on, the message about the hot zone pops up. If the screen is off however, the charging message pops up. But it does this every few seconds, every time the screen goes off.
If I look at the inside of the cover on mine, I can clearly see the coil layout (you have to look at an angle, under a light) The coil I see looks about the same as a standard one.
The issue, I think, may be down to the NFC coil being in the same location. Qi is supposed to detect foreign metal objects such as keys & coins, and will turn off if they are detected. Maybe the NFC coil is interfering with Qi and the official LG charger has been designed to overcome this issue.
I haven't been able to find the official charger at retail.
Here I have found it on Taobao, the price is pretty steep though about 50USD.

I got the official charger but same problem for me. Says its loading but when the screen goes of it pops back up. The charger is working fine with my Nexus 7. Anyone who solved this problem yet?
I also have this problem with a premium charger I bought for my note 3. Keeps on telling me to put it in the hot spot and then won't charge. Looks like another problem for the g3 and I'm beginning to wish that I'd kept my note 3
Please help
This is my second try to get an answer to this question. Does anyone here have a us LG G3? The reason I'm asking is I have seen two different charging pin locations one is the international one which has a space between pins 2 and 3and the Korean version which has no spaces between the pins. I want to buy a charging cover and don't know which one to get so hopefully someone here can let me know. Thanks in advance.
i thought only me have this problem.
im using official LG G3 charger WCD-100, while charging the G3, sometimes charging stop for a second and continue. happen so often. the wireless charging notification annoy me, not sure if charging with random disconnect will make the battery life cycle worse
when charging my nexus 5 with the same wireless chager, the charging went smooth, no disconnect happen
i check the back cover and clean the pin, nothing changes, still got random disconnect

Same here (WCD-100), those alerts are just annoying. Is there any chance I could disable it?

I do not have the phone. But there have been pictures posted of the T-Mobile and AT&T version which show the space between the pins.

Disable the alert with Xposed and G3 Tweaksbox. You can disable the slow charging notification and the hot zone message.

wireless charging alert keeps popping up
Hi to all!
I just got my new LG G3 phone and starting to familiarize its usage. Though one thing I can't figure out is the wireless charging indicator pops up every after 30 seconds or so. Is there any configuration I can set to disable this?
Thanks!
Chris
I'm using a generic charger from dx (the round black one) and positioning is sensitive, but it does work and doesn't keep popping up asking me to reposition it.
I also have a round puck charger and and also one of those Lugalake qi chargers with integrated battery. UK phone.
In both cases the G3 just sits and whines about positioning. The puck thinks it's charging and the battery level increases but the back of the phone gets very hot so I don't think it's 100% right. A hot zone, for sure.

Exact same problem. I am currently using G3 Tweaks Box to remove the annoying notifications that pops up every now and then, but no solution to the actual issue of the phone not charging consistently. Not sure if its the phone or the charger, but am currently thinking of swapping to a better charging stand (the WCD-100 looks pretty inconsistent with the premium look of the phone, plus I'm using a black G3) and hoping that the charging issue would be resolved.
I have the LG WCP-300 and I get the placing message as well, but it charges the phone without any issues. .
Experiencing some frustration with the fast charging option. I attach the charger, and no notification pops up saying "Fast Charger Connected"... but in Power Savings settings it says Charging USBicon1.png with the fast charging box checked but showing grey.
Used the same charger and cord in the same outlet earlier in the day and the fast charger works without problem. Been tracking this issue for two days and cannot figure out the variables creating the problem.
Tried different fast charger, different cables, different ports, cleaned out the port with alcohol and qtips....
Anyone else suffering the same problem?
Any insights that might lead to a solution?
Are you sure that the phone is seeing that it's being charged by AC and not USB? It may sound like a stupid question but my Note 4 recently suddenly started charging as if I'm connected to USB rather than AC, even though I'm using the same fast charger that came with my phone, and it does this about 40-50% of the time. I think it has to do with the cable I'm using, the one that came with the phone so it's 14 months old, but I'm not positive. It could be the port on the phone, which is the reason I'm mentioning it since you said you tried different cables, fast chargers, etc. I haven't noticed whether it happens when charging in the car since I don't do that much. This happened with one of my older phones also after I'd had it for a year or more, not sure if it was the S3 or Evo 3D, and back then I think it happened with any cable or charger I tried.
When this happens, I need to unplug the cable and plug it back in, sometimes it takes 4 or 5 times to get it to show as AC with fast charging.

I'm experiencing the same symptoms on two different Sprint Galaxy Note 4. At this point i'm pretty sure that is a software issue since now it's two different phones. I have tried 4 different chargers (one that was not mine) and factory reset one of them. Not sure what self updating or background self updating app (if any) could cause this problem. This is frustrating, it's like sprint and samsung purposely push software to make the phone suck and for me to update..

I was experiencing this on both of my phones before the update on the 7th of Dec got pushed out..
I'm rooted, running a custom ROM called Hybrid X 3.0 which is still OG5. This problem suddenly started out of nowhere and I hadn't changed my ROM so that's why I figured it must be hardware. Now I don't know. Makes me wonder if they could've put a kind of self-destruct code in the software to force us to get new phones. The ROM I'm running is based off of stock Samsung software after all.
I wonder if it would happen on a Cyanogen based ROM. I don't use them because I rely on my S pen too much to use AOSP.
Edit: Is anyone else seeing that their phone shows its charging as USB? Just curious.

Still experiencing the same thing. At this point I don't know what or who I should blame.
I myself was having tons of freeze issues and random reboots after the update on my completely stock phone. Not seeing the charging problem but since installing clean master and cm anti virus, issues were found and have since stopped. I definitely think there is something wrong with the latest update and could just be affecting people in different ways. I would maybe try clean master or something similar and see if your phone could just be infected with something. Might just have something to do with the latest "security" update. It can't hurt to try it anyway.
