Would they be usable on the OPT? I understand that the OPT charger doesn't work on other devices but is there the same effect on the OPT?
Ex: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017M5E7AO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
They'll work,
purchased three 3rd party cable, and all work fine with OP2 with good charging rates n data transfer
The non-genuine cables works with the OP2 just fine, because it uses USB 2.0

Has anyone tested any particular cables or adapters with this tablet.
Seems like all cables aren't created equal and some could be dangerous to the unit or adapter.
I'd like to have a spare apart from the one send with the tablet.
Thanks.

Someone reported here that they tested a fast charging setup, but didn't give details of the charger or the cable. The only danger is when trying to implement the Type C USB port charging functionality, such as charging in either direction and the higher optional current of 3A. Since the Type A to Type C cables fall back to USB 3.0 or USB 2.0, you don't have to worry about those types of cables or adaptors I think. The danger is the Type C to Type C cables, and I don't have an answer to that. Keep in mind we don't even know if the N1 itself is fully compliant with the Type C specs.
Hello,
I need a couple of more charging cables for Oneplus 3. One for my car and other for work. I was wondering can I buy some extra Oneplus 3 cables or do I need the adapter also to go with it. Can I just buy USB-C cables if I don't need the dash charge option?
The Dash charge system requires both charger and cable to be DASH compatible, currently only OP sell those as far as I know. I have 5-6 other non-dash type C cables stashed at work etc and they work just fine, charge the OP at "normal" speeds rather than dash. Fine for charging when Im in bed.
So basically if I buy a USB Type C then I will get normal charging but not dash charging. Are the generic USB-Type C cables compatible with the dash adapater? I believe a normal USB cable will not work
I had some initial difficulty getting a micro usb OTG cable working, I ended up testing a few and thought I would share in case it saves anyone else some time or money.
if anyone else has adapters they've tried feel free to list them
I actually haven't tried a straight USB type C OTG cable yet, all have been micro USB OTG units with a micro USB to type C converter since I already had so many lying around.
First off I should mention not all micro usb to USB type C converters support OTG.
this Meenova one does and works with the oneplus 3t: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018G6IK7E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
with that converter pretty much any OTG adapter will work.
Charging also works.
This micro USB OTG adaptor is nice because its so low profile.
I tested it with a flash drive and it works fine with the Meenova adapter listed above.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0196FG4DG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This Samsung adapter also works well with the Meenova adapter, it has quite a few features which I tested on the Oneplus 3t, its expensive though so unless you have a Samsung tablet as well its not likely to be worth it for most people:
built in features:
two USB ports
Ethernet port
Charging port for simultaneous charging and OTG
On the Oneplus 3t both charging and OTG work fine but not at the same time.
whichever you plug in first is what it will use until you unplug and re-plug in the adapter.
That being said my understanding is that this is likely just a kernel limitation, it was the same way on the nexus 7 and a custom kernel enabled the simultaneous charging.
I'm not sure how useful that would be on a phone but I thought I would mention it.
Both USB ports work simultaneously, I connected two flash drives and both were picked up by the phone right away.
I wasn't able to get the Ethernet port working, or at least there was no indicator that it was working (My samsung tablet gives a notification that the Ethernet is plugged in but Samsung may have added that, I'm not sure) I'll play with it some more later.
Adaptor link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J2N0GB4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and lastly I tried this micro USB to type c adapter and charging works but OTG does not:

Thanks for your post about OTG adapters. Do you have any updates on this issue? I'm looking for possible adapters but cannot find any.
The Meenova adapter is not available in Europe and also seems not to be available from Amazon.com anymore. I can also disadvise from Anker USB adapter because it doesn't work.
What I'm looking for is an USB typ-C to microUSB adapter for audio output via USB.
Anker adapter supports dash charge (works with oppo vooc power bank). I am trying OTG now, but I have some cheap OTG dongle (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5pc...G-adapter-for-HTC-for-Samsung/1734417126.html) and I am not sure if it works at all Anyway OTG via Anker is not working for me at this moment.

Thanks! Though it's USB type B. I need micro USB.
Now A70 charger comes with both ends type-c , and as I am buying it soon I got some queries popping in !
1] Can I use my old standard Samsung fast charger to charge safely A70, and it wont cause any harm to the phone ?
2] Can we use Samsung Normal Slow chargers to charge A70 Safely too?
3] How to data transfer to my PC as my PC don't have type-c port. Can I use standard type-c to Standard USB cable and will it transfer data - Totally not sure ?
Can u guys tellme any other manufacturers phones that have type-c on both ends?
You should be able to use any regular USB-A (i.e. computers, most chargers, etc) to USB-C cable for data transfer and normal charging. Not sure whether you'd get 25W of fast charging that way though, I'd suspect more likely just regular Quick Charge 3.0 as long as your wall-charger supports that.
Having a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box seems odd to me too - perhaps there's something about the 25W charging system and the new charger that might cause issues if people tried to use a regular old cable rather than the supplied one, so they've stopped that being possible?
Andre
Thx Andre.
Need more opinions from folks !
Like andrew explained already it's simple, just use USB-A to USB-C cable.
Hi
I just bought a Pixel 2 XL off Facebook and am new to it.
1 - Does any adapter work for USB C to USB A Male if I want to transfer to computer? I have an older laptop about 12 years old.
2 - Does any USB C to headphone jack work? I saw some off Ebay but not sure if they work with any device.
3 - What is a good casting app? I have an LG Smart TV and would like to cast to it when I want to watch movies. I had a S3 and the video player app that came with it used to cast automatically and it would let me put subtitle srt files to it. I'd like something similar. I DL VLC player but not sure if that works with LG.

Hi,
I should be able to answer two of your questions...
1 - Phone comes with two USB cords.
1 x USB-C to USB-C for the OEM charger
1 x USB-C to USB-A (for 12 years old PC. )
Otherwise, here is a list USB-A to USB-C tested and reviewed by a google employee a few years ago:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ls/ref...nk_bb_marketplace&ref_=pdp_new_wl&ty=wishlist
2 - Not sure...
3 - Unfortunately, Google removed casting abilities from its devices. You have to pair it with:
https://store.google.com/us/product/chromecast?hl=en-US
Or
https://store.google.com/us/product/chromecast_google_tv?hl=en-US
Cheers...
Sébastien.

The adapter I got for the USB C to USB A is only USB A is female and it can apparently only be used for OTG
Thanks
1. If you have an extra USB-A to MicroUSB cable laying around, they make adapters (readily available on Amazon) for the MicroUSB end to convert it to USB-C. I know as I regularly use one in the car and have a second one for any computer lacking a USB-C port, like an older laptop. @5.1's listing of cables may be correct in his home country, but not here in the USA. In the USA unlocked models came with just the USB-C to USB-C cable, the OTG adapter, the audio adapter, the SIM eject tool, and the charger.
2. Any third-party dongle with a USB-C end should work. If you purchased the MicroUSB to USB-C adapters I mentioned even an older dongle should work. The one included in the box is somewhat fragile from what I recall, so getting a third party dongle might be a better alternative even if you did get one.
3. I can't really help you when it comes to casting apps, as I don't use one. VLC however I think should work with your LG.
Hello,
Thanks @Strephon Alkhalikoi . I didn't know that... :good:

The USB C to 3.5mm dongle has a DAC in it so you need one that supports the Pixel (my wife has a Huawei and the DAC is in the phone, not the dongle, so the Huawei dongle doesn't work on my 2xl, and the Google dongle doesn't work on her P20 Pro)

Thanks for the reply...
I am currently on Ebay. Unfortunately the phone I bought second hand did not come with a USB C headphone jack.

Do you by any chance know where I would buy one? Any third party options?
