I am using Straight Talk, and I can receive pictures from everyone, and group messages from everyone except one person. This includes iphones and androids. That one person has an iphone 5s and they use Verizon. This issue only started about a week ago, before that it was working fine. I have used an OPPO N3 and am now using an HTC One M9 and am having the same issue. I even have a new sim card.
If the same problem exists on 2 devices it makes sense to blame crap software.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

Are you saying it is an android issue?
So, you've used 2 different phones. Both worked fine when getting messages from everyone except one person. That one person has an iPhone 5s.
I think you're in the wrong forum, and the thread should be titled "Problem sending messages from a Verizon iPhone 5s."
Really. It's an iPhone problem.
The problem is my phone, because that one person can send group messages to everyone, including other android phones no problem. I think it has something to do with me using Straight talk wireless.

It definitely sounds like a carrier-specific issue - you've already ruled out device-specific and OS-specific issues by using different phones and reproducing the same results, and by verifying that the person you can't get messages from has no problems sending messages to other people using android on different carriers.
Turn off imessage on the iPhone and see if the problem persists

I text this friend of mine everyday as well as other ppl.. however I do don't get some of her msgs even after she sends it twice.. She has an iPhone 4S and I'm on GNexus - Liquid 1.4, I switch from Aokp bcuz I thought It was the rom... but it still happens I have signal I can send msgs during the time and there's times where she text me other things while still resending the one I don't get. It happens quite often and is annoying. Anybody know why? Anything helps

No I have never used an iPhone myself always had an android.. Cliq, HD2, SGS2, Now GNex. All regular SMS I always seems to get mms tho. The person would send a screen shot so I can see the actual reply she sent that I didn't receive. Twice. My sim is kinda new as well.

I finally got pissed enough at my rezound, and called Verizon up and demanded a device switch. They are sending me a Gnex. Did I make a bad choice? It was comparable to the rezound in price and release date.
Also, on the rezound Sense 3.6 messages, you have an option to do group MMS. It creates a different thread and groups all the people involved in the conversation. It is done over MMS.
My question is: Does the Gnex have this? If not, Will I be able to download, install and run the vzmessages app from the play store to enable it? I really hate vzmessages, but it doesn't look like there is much of an alternative.
Thanks

Good switch-- I love my nexus way more besides from the camera.
I use gosms for group MMS. It works and is way prettier and less laggy than vzwmessages

I will admit the rezound had a kick-ass camera. But that was one of the only redeeming features it had.
Hello,
My wife has an iPhone 4 on AT&T and I of course have an S3 on T-Mo. I also have another friend with an iPhone 4 on Verizon and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I cannot get texts from them. I can easily get texts from everyone else BUT them iPhone. Is there an issue with my phone? I've tried Googling the answer, and I'll I'm reading is responses like "That is Apple for you." but can I get a technical response or an idea of what I can do to remedy the situation?
Thanks all! :good:
GS3 dont play well with iphones. Everytime an iphone user sends me a MMS all i get is tiny thumbnail. seems the sms/mms issue has been discussed here but i havent had a real answer yet :/
I get pix from iPhone users daily with no problem.... I've gotten over a hundred MMS and over 6000 texts from people with iPhones over the last month or so... not sure what to tell you.
Tell them to get an android.. duh

First off, that's gonna be hard to pinpoint. Why? Because a text is a text unless the iPhone is doing some sort of encoding magic that the Galaxy S3 somehow rejects but that shouldn't be the case because if it was, it would be an android issue. And at the end of the day, texting between the Galaxy S3 and iPhone work just fine because I have friends with iPhones and I received their texts without any issues. So it has to be something to do with your specific phone.
Have you tried putting your SIM card to different phone and seeing if you get the texts then? And also have you tried someone else's SIM card in your phone/just going and getting a new SIM from T-Mobile?

Never heard of that op. My brother and sister both have iPhones and I get MMS/SMS from both.

Hey all, thanks for the pointers. I'll check my SIM today. I do have a backup micro SIM actually!
If you had an IPhone as well before you could be linked to Apple ID. If that's the case when iPhone sends you message it detects its linked to ID and your Galaxy will never get it. Hope that sends you in right direction to solve it.

This is a good point. I had my email linked to iMessage and someone with an iPhone texted my email address and instead of going to my email inbox it showed up on my iPad. Not sure how it works with your phone number though.

I actually DID have an iPhone 4 before switching back to the Android platform. Let me look into the Apple ID situation and I'll report back! Thanks! :good:
Well I fixed my phone. It WAS related to the Apple ID. Like I said, I had an iPhone before the S3 and when I had the iPhone on and left on Wi-Fi people's iMessage was pointing their texts to that phone. I wiped the phone (as I'm about to sell it) and that fixed the problem.
Thanks again for the insight people.

Glad you got it fixed! I know a lot of phones have issues with the stupid iPhone. Even Kylee old touch pro 2 had issues. I just think the iPhone is horrible.

First thing you need to know is that I've never owned an Apple device. I've been having this issue ever since Apple upgraded to iOS 6 & 7. My girlfriend and some of my friends are iPhone users, and sometimes they send me messages but I receive them late or even never receive them at all. Sometimes I get their text that got mixed with a text that they sent sometime before (even from convos that are days or weeks old) in the SAME message (WTF?). I event get spammed by the same message 5+ times, example http://i.imgur.com/ij8GtPu.jpg which is annoying and ridiculous!
Ive searched the web and did not find a single solution, only thousands of people complaining with no fix. The only solution to this is to use another chat app with the other person, which is really hard to convince someone to do that. Especially Apple fanboys and fangirls like my GF. I suggested Whatsapp or Hangouts and even suggested her to disable iMessage (there's a feature that lets you disable the iMessage feature so the iMessage app only sends SMS to the users) which my GF denied also. -_-
TLDR: I don't get texts and people wait for me to respond and think that I'm ignoring them or I get spammed. How to fix pls?
Edit #1: I've never been an Apple user so "disconnecting" my number from iMessage by sending a "STOP" text to 48369 probably wont help. BUT I did try it today and we'll see if that works lol...
Edit #2: Oh the irony... http://i.imgur.com/7gmUN54.png
Edit #3: My phone is stock. Never did any modding.
IMO, not much can be done on Android side but I remember reading a great article about this issue.

I've had it since early 2011, so almost 5 years. It was a new T-Mobile number too, I got to pick the last four digits.

I would maybe call Apple support. Even though you don't have an apple device it seems their system thinks that your number is register for imessage.
Hi friends. I bought a new pixel 6 pro. There seemed to be no problem until I inserted the sim card. The phone does not recognize the sim card. I can't see IMEI numbers in settings. Baseband version appears to be empty. Is there any solution?

The SIM might not be seated correctly in the tray.

I would try (in order of ease):
1) Resetting network settings
2) (re)Flashing latest firmware (flash.android.com being the easiest way - Chrome or Edge only)
3) Contacting Google support - they will suggest 1 & 2, so beat them to it
Note there are references to this issue elsewhere online with RMA being the only fix, so be prepared for this
Where did you buy it from, retail store or Google? If retail store and you have no luck with the above and contact google, first try returning to retail store, because unfortunately, if you RMA it to Google they have a ****ty habit of sending you a refurbished phone which is the ****tiest game of lucky dip ever invented - they do NOT do a brand new for brand new swap...ask me how i know (3 x 4XL's all faulty refurbs after sending them a brand new one)...thats why i left Pixel for Samsung at Pixel 4). Googles warranty/RMA is about the worst you'll find.....

That hasn't been my experience at all.
I've found Google warranty/service/support to be the best in the business and have been dealing with them since the first Moto G (when Google owned Motorola) in 2014 and have been with them ever since then right up to my P6P.

Im glad thats your experience, doesnt change the fact other, and plenty of, other people have had a far different experience
Can only tell you what i have perosnally experienced. I loved my Pixel 2XL, things went south quickly from there. I beleive ive documented the 4XL saga on here before. Wasnt joking, they sent me 3 refurbished 4XL's in a row each worse than the one before it, each time asserting "it will be tested to our exacting standards"...funny how i reported one issue and each phone arrived with that one still an issue and a new one as a bonus each and every time. Not very "exacting" those standards. In the end i got them to return the first one (took some doing) and took it back to where i bought it, got my money back and departed back to Samsung for a couple of years. Only recently got tired of the constant fudgery and finding/creating workarounds needed to keep my Watch 4 working with Samsung Health security and came back to Pixel 6 Pro. Been painless so far.
Go on any local classfieds and you will see plenty of people selling refurbished phones in the plain Google refurb box that theyve gotten from Google in place of new phones theyve shelled out $1,500 for...people feeling cheated, just like i felt, and just wanting to get out of the Google ecosystem....
#notjustme
Google are The Worst, worse than my experiences with Samsung, and thast a low bar in itself...
As stated, i would try and return the phone to the retailer, if needed, over trying to RMA it to Google, every day of the week. Far less painful a proposition.

Pleasure stop trying to negate others experiences and impose your own as the only definitive and correct one. Its bordering on trolling now....
I know you havent been paying attention and only looking to assert your views, because youve totally missed i own a Pixel now, not the Samsung....
