I wonder if Brodit will add the OPX to their range of car accessories??

My arkon works just fine.
Would really like to see one of those for the OnePlus X:
https://www.mumbi.de/samsung/galaxy-s5/samsung-galaxy-s5-kfz-halterung-fuer-lueftungsschlitz-lueftungsgitter-halter
Used one for the Nexus 5 and was very satisfied.
Can be easily rotated 90° to landscape mode if needed.
I'm using this one with my opx and the original case.

Perfect, thanks, that will do just fine. I have the specific Brodit mount in my car and this will screw straight onto it.

I'm currently using the Caseco Core 360, stuck the mounting disc on the back of the phone and it works great, when you get close the magnets pull it and center it on the pin. Also the disc adds a nice place to put my finger and gives me a bit more grip on the phone. The car mount itself is also not ugly or imposing for my car interior. They tend to have sales often.

i just boutght one of these http://www.arkon.com/ when i had my MyTouch3G/Dream. The one that hooks up to the bottom of the passenger seat. Just kept using it for the new phone. Their generic and i think they work well.
I'm hoping ProMount get a holder for the 4G soon - I love their dash mounts.
Just saw the Official Desk Dock. Very sexy. They said it would be available some time december.

Did he/she say anything about a car dock??
They were not displaying it. I didn't have time to ask. They were taking to others about Windows7 phones.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
Hopefully the Car Dock will secure the MT4G phone just as well as the Nexus One dock does. The charging contacts on the side will mean that you can just put the phone in the dock (which is attached to charging) so you will not have to attach anything to the phone.
But....if the desktop dock blocks access to the USB (being on the same side) then data access will not be available on this phone while docked (just like the Nexus One).
Keeping my eyes peeled for anything at T-Mobile or ShopAmerica.HTC.com
Do we know for sure that you cant transfer data through the docking pins?
a hard car dock + an app like dynolicious would be killer!

These come up on the t-mobile website. I hope a better one comes out soon.

I have that 'myTouch car holder' one. It's meant for the original myTouch, and it kinds of sucks. It holds the phone just fine, and it's easy to adjust; however, the clamps have about .05mm of clearance between constantly holding the camera shutter button down, or constantly holding the Volume Down key. Really annoying.
Also, T-Mo opted to not include landscape support into the entire OS! So when you try to use the phone while running Navigation, your contacts are still sideways. So dumb...
I hope they really knock it out of the park with the GPS cradle. The Desktop Dock is kind of a disappointment / nothing super fancy.
http://www.clingo.com/car-mounts/universal-hands-free-mount I bought this off of Amazon for 19.99 back when I had my G1, it works very well but I get nervous everytime I pull my phone off because of the removable back, I might just buy another battery cover to permanently stick onto the dock and just pop it out and go
Nice find friend. Can you post a video of the device?
I bought the Arkon's SM325-S originaly. I switched holder with the
SM050-2 recently for the look. It's pretty snug, a little tight with the snap-on cover.

I ordered a Empire universal mount. Don't buy it. It's advertised with GNex compatibility, the side arms push down the volume keys, even worse, It broke what I was trying to extend the arm. It was only $8, I guess I got what I paid for.

The mount is surprisingly small. The base has some type of sticky element that allows it to attach to multiple surfaces. I'll find out tonight how well it holds up on a car ride.

Hello Jerk82,
How do you like the car mount?
Thanks
I'm wondering if I would be able to mod this with my official GSM Car Dock. My case on the phone (a small/slim TPU case. It's really popular here, I just can't remember the name) has cutouts for the pogo pins, but my phone obviously won't fit into the car dock with the case on.
Something like this would be perfect if I could "enable" the pogo pins.

One ego for the vent and one fix, I didn't plan on using both but the car is a Charger SRT-8 and if I pushed the car I could make it fall off. Now in most cars this would not be an issue but I like to push it every now and then...

The "fix" is stuck to the dash under the ego in the vent . All that's on the phone is the metal button that sticks to the magnet in the ego/fix they come with four buttons to choose from..

Alright. I'll be ordering later this morning, haha. Thanks, mate.
is there any options to use this to mount the phone higher up on the windshield like a standard suction cup mount? i really like the idea but i've use vent mounts before i dont really like how it blocks the vent and you have to look away from the road to see your phone.
Just a caution: The stick on variant doesn't like ALL dash types, no matter how well you prep. In my case Subaru WRX.
I got the fixWAY. I love it so much I ended up buying 3 of them, one for each vehicle
I got a car mount from dealextreme and it is quite good. Secure quite tightly and doesnt come loose as i encounter with other mounts.
Granted does not fit when i have my extended battery fit on the phone
Does having a magnet on the back of the phone (when mounted) cause any problems or raise any concerns for anyone?
Yeah that's been asked a few times no it does not matter actually they are 4 small magnets which produce the magnetic fields that holds the phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Here's my setup with the Tetrax Fixway mount I like it a lot. I just used a case to attach the magnet to so I wouldn't have to stick one on my actual phone. It's much more convenient I can just strap on the case when I get in the car and mount it to the Fixway either landscape or portrait.
Thinking of pushing the button on one of these. Minimal bulk for a leather case by the looks. Anyone had experience with hoco before?

HOCO is a brand in HongKong, their leather cases are very good. My sister purchased a white one for her Phone two weeks ago, it fits well and the quality is ok.
Pushed the button and it will arrive tomorrow. Sometime in the next few days I will attempt to post a review.

I don't have any direct experience with Hoco, but I have had similar cases from other manufacturers for my previous phones in the past. All I can say is that pictures are deceiving...those cases add a lot of bulk to a phone, additionally the flap just plain gets in the way and makes the while thing even bigger. Just my opinion, I know this type of case works for some people or they wouldn't still be making them.

These are the cases I am currently using, but does not include cases I have tried:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28808929&postcount=2
Also, most leather covered plastic cases run at least 2-3mm thick. A case like the one in the OP would increase the size of your phone ~6mm in every direction. On a positive note it would give you a lot of drop protection over slimmer cases...if that's what your looking for.

I'm glad you are happy with it..."bulky" means different things to different people. I know people who think that Otterbox style cases aren't bulky...And other people who think a 1.5mm TPU case is too bulky...LOL.

I bought the samsung flip case, and I like it very much.
The only thing about it's very hard to get it out of the case.
I used it a lot in the car holder,so in and out.

There is one problem with this sort of cases is that you cannot use a dock and does not allow charging with flip closed....

It's not magnetic. There is a clip at the top of the flip that clicks snugly over the top of the phone. It seems very secure. I'm a little worried the leather hinge may stretch later and compromise the firmness of the clip but time will tell.

it's very sturdy. i ride at high speed over potholes and the phones has never fallen. if you upgrade your phone often, i would go this route as it will be compatible for almost any phone/case combo.

Interesting how you cut it out to fit the quadlock. I thought the cut was all the way through. So it's sticking to the inner part of the otterbox then?
