Wiered, have you tried a factory reset or a rom?

Yeah. I tried doing hard reset but it still continues.

Looks like hardware to me. I'd take it to service if I were you.
You could try a custom rom and kernel just in case it's software, but it looks like the sensors are messing up.

HOX Vibration problem

What's up guys, i'm new here . Three days ago, HTC sent back my phone after a checkup for a vibration problem. They said that they did a software update (false, it was already 1.29.401.11) and sensors calibration. Yesterday, the phone stopped vibrating again. What should i do now? I think that is a software problem (stock rom, never rooted). I'm sorry for bad english . Thanks

Don't think you can do anything much other than give it back and ask for a replacement as it's the second time this has happened... Also, try doing a factory restore and see if it works.

I dit it, but this should be the third time that i send it to assistance. The first one was for a g sensor problem, resolved with a replacement of motherboard, but when i sent it the vibration worked perfectly, i suspect that they broken my phone.

mine keeps vibrating every 30 min or so
i cant figure out what's causing it any suggestions what it would be ?
not a incoming email vibration notification , not a wi-fi drop out vibration notification.

They actually scammed you by saying they updated it(when it was updated already like you say) You should go back, yell at them and take out some frustration if you wish =P
Don't root your phone to install another rom, try fixing it as is on stock rom.
I would try these:
1)Factory Reset
2)Update to latest FW
3)HTC Diagnostics Test (Has a vibration test)
4)Haptic Feedback On(To see if it vibrates on typing and tapping and such)
5)Phone Ringing with vibration
If any of the above work, then its definitely a software problem.
If they don't, either way you have to go back to HTC. Try getting a replacement. Say you're tired of coming back again and again to get your phone fixed, "Give me a replacement or My Money back"
I read another post a few weeks back where the user was experiencing these mechanical sounds on haptic feedback(I also have that problem) but his vibration stopped altogether. He got his HOX replaced.
Anyways Good Luck.

I don't recommend hijacking the thread, create your own thread
Sorry I'm probably stepping on his thread too, but please point in any directtion before I have an inoperable phone and a hard time getting HTC to cover.
However, I an issue that will f-up this phone I'm afraid. I have on a daily basis what I would describe as an alarm of some sorts (can't duplicate) that runs about 15 seconds once to twice daily at full vibration. Not rooted and have reset 3 times.
If you've ever run a battery drain program with full vibration on. Not good for the phone. I'm at a loss in this one, really dreading tech support or my local store. Will run the HTC diags but any other ideas greatly appreciated
No receipt, no box and I traded for it on Craig'slist 2weeks ago..

My friend had the same problem with a HOX - it wouldn't vibrate at all. He tried doing a factory reset and playing with settings, but nothing worked, so he sent it back and got a replacement. I'm not sure you can do anything about it since it's likely a hardware problem.

HTC One X Screen Problems

Hey guys, I have had my HTC One X for two months. The screen sometimes jitters and parts of the system ui blend into each other. It happens at random times and only lasts for a second and sometimes the screen takes a long time to wake and only the capacitive lights turn on. It happens in both apps and on the home screen. This was happening on stock rom and my phone wasnt rooted. I also rooted it and flashed a custom rom and i still had the problem. I also updated the OTA to the latest release but that didnt solve the problem. Anyone have an idea on how this problem can be fixed? Thanks.

[Q] Update caused slow camera start from lock screen and slow to turn on

After upgrading from 4.0 to 4.1 I found that my phone won't switch on until I press the power button three times although sometimes it does switch on first go. Then, I installed the latest OTA patch to 4.1.1, software number 3.14.401.31 (international version) and found that accessing the camera from the lock screen, with security pattern enabled, is very slow. That is when you drag the camera to the unlock ring and release, the lock ring pauses for about 5 seconds before the camera starts up. This didn't happen before the last update.
So far I have taken the camera out of the unlock bar and rebooted the phone and turned off geo-tagging photos. None of these options helped.
If I turn off the pattern unlock then accessing the camera from the lock screen is normal so this appears to be something to do with accessing the camera with the pattern unlock enabled.
Hi,
I have encountered the same thing - seems like you're the only one who has reported it on these forums so far. I hadn't tried disabling the pattern unlock, thanks for the tip. I'll try this. But I'm quite unhappy about this new bug that just came out of nowhere with the 4.1 update, especially knowing that the camera quick start was one of the features HTC boasted about so much!
Yeah, not much on it at the moment but the upgrade is quite recent. Hopefully more people will find this thread and we can get some traction.
Same problem here, me and my wife. Wery annoing!

I emailed HTC and they replied the next day which was good. They asked me to reset the camera app, reboot the phone and then factory reset the phone if the other things didn't work. It didn't fix it yet so I'll see what they come up with next.

No factory resetting my phone didn't work. HTC rang me back and said that I need to return it to who I bought it from. In other words no fix and returning certainly won't prove anything. I think I'll just have to wait it out until it is fixed with another update ... hopefully.
Or maybe we should looking at getting an app that provides the same functionality?
Have te same bug guys :/

I tried the factory reset too, to no avail. Seems like disabling the phone lock is the only solution, but that's not really what I would call a satisfactory solution, since I'm using a VPN on my phone and that requires a lock + I just don't want to go lock-free.
We need this issue to be known to HTC and hopefully a fix will come.
Ps I don't think this problem was present in the JB update, but only came in the small FW update that followed.

Yeah it only came in the small update after the JB update. But another problem that I'm having is that to turn my phone on via the power button, sometimes I have to press the power button three times. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes after the phone has been off for a while, I hit it once and nothing, hit it again, nothing and then on the third press it comes on. I'm not sure if they are related to the "quick" camera launch problem.
One work around for this bug, if you use your camera a lot, is to leave your camera in standby mode. That is turn your phone off while the camera is active and then when you hit the power button it will go straight to camera. I don't use this myself as I have the lock pattern on to prevent my phone from turning on in my pocket which is common on HTC phones
HTC support are a waste of space
I have this issue too. HTC told me to factory reset it, then when that didn't work they told me to return it to the store to be sent away for repair. They really don't have a clue at HTC support.
The phone was returned to Vodafone yesterday and the repair centre said "no fault found" What are they on!!! The Vodafone store confirmed the issue was still there.
I now have the phone back with no resolution.
Going to call Consumer and get some advice.
I have this problem too, quite annoying.

May I ask where you're based? I've got a UK CID and haven't seen this update yet. Did you do anything special or did it just come as OTA?
Thanks!

Thanks. Looks like that 3.18 OTA is seeding at the moment, shouldn't be long before I get it. Fingers crossed....

[Q] Strange sounds

Hi,
I used to be a happy owner of the HTC One X since last week.
From that time my phone makes strange sounds - something like a error blip in windows. It makes me crazy, as it happens randomly, like one per minute or every second for a minute.
I did hard reset and it's back. Dunno what to do, dont wanna change to custom rom ;/
Is here anyone who had the same problem?
Many thanks!

Hi,
it happens always when screen is on. I believe that it might be one of the apps, but no idea which one as I've almost uninstalled everything from my phone. Did the hard reset and the sound was back after a few seconds after first boot.
Damn, I think that custom rom will be anwser

[SOLVED][Q] Gyroscope not working.

:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
hi, i use the htc one m9 (dev eddition), i reside in india and had shipped this phone from the us.
my g-sensor(gyroscope) has an issue, it does not work anymore, it worked for the first few days but then it just stopped, nothing triggered it , it happened all of a sudden, ive tried several factory resets, wiping my cache from recovery and recaliberating the g sensor in both normal and safe mode( what i noticed here is that only the up/down moment is detected by the virtual spiritlevel, but not the left /right), but nothing worked for me. please let me know what to do to get my g-sensor working back again.
(is there a way i dont have to ship the phone to the us for repairs?)(htc one m9 not launching in india.)(i spoke to coustomer care , they didnt have the info for m9)
thanks in advance

I had this exact thing happen to my first M9. Worked for a few days, then quit working for no reason.
Sorry to say, it's a hardware issue and will require repairing or replacing.

Yes, I'm in the US. I got my M9 from Verizon and since I was within my 14 day return period, I simply took it in to the Verizon store where I bought it, showed them the problem, and they replaced it for free on the spot.

i got the solution, this is crazy but works...
go to help app(the one htc pre-installed on ur phone)
then go to hardware misbehaving?
hardware diagnostics
G-sensor test.
test it once , or twice. let it say failed.
next from that screen tap on calibrate g sensors
do the calibration on a flat surface
go back and do the test. this time it will say it worked.
and acctually, it did work, my autorotate , riptide, dot-breaker, everything based on gyroscope sensor is now working fine !!
