So just wondering what kind of battery life people are getting with stock and aosp ROMs (screen on time). Provide rom name kernel and screenshots if you can.
I'm currently running 10-11 Blisspop
Nebula 10.2.2 experimental
My battery life is about less than 2 hours but using smartmax governer I get consistent performance.

This kernel lets me use my phone all day without the battery dying.

I'm using the Verizon GNex running CM10 Kang with GLaDOS Kernel, and to put it simply, my battery life sucks. It drains 50% in about 2/3 hours.
How can I make it last longer???
Thanks!

And that's for Verizon?
paranoidandroid with trinity 307 gpu has been amazing for me
AndroidME + Trinity
I get horrendous battery life on just about every rom and kernel I try that's just a gnex I guess, that being said air kernel has significantly increased my battery life on any rom I use it on. Settings I use are 1200 max 230 min smartass2 governor and sio scheduler

I don't think that there is much difference between Custom rom and Adroid versions, I noticed that JB seems to be more of a power drain hog than ICS.. But as usual it mainly depends on your personal usage and the main drain source is (then) always the screen.
Lowering the screen brightness will have more effects than kernels and custom roms

Haha me too! I have to be doing something wrong.
should try out rasbean and trinity kernel. I got about 4h 40mins screen time
There isn't one... and nobody can tell YOU what kind of battery life YOU'RE going to get. Try something and make it work for you

well, i've been testing, and now i have nearly 24 hours of medium use with MIUIv4 with GLaDOS kernel
liquidsmooth v2 beta 1 with trinity
Although it still has a few bugs it's really fast and smooth and I get about 15-18 hours with 2-3 hours screen on and a few apps keeping phone awake

What is the best kernel for getting the best battery life? I have tried many and the most screen time I am able to achieve is 3-4 hours. This is better than most users but I am sure that getting 5 hours could be done with a kernel that has proper power savings. The phone is overpowered and ramps up its cpu for simple tasks like sending whatsapps. Also is there a kernel/rom combo for achieving the best battery life that work great together? So far the best for me was the Renovate 3.0 rom running a stock kernel reaching 4 hours of screen time. I am currently running maXimus 2.2 with faux 006m and getting around 3 and a half hours of screen time.
Thanks,

Yes and even purchased his app to see if turning off cores and under clocking would help. His kernel has some serious wifi issues so I could not keep it. But also the cores would turn on even when they are set not to. Seems that it is not perfected yet.

I think I have the newest version. Baseband 2.1204.127.19
i diint want to open a new thread neither i want to hijack this thread. my questions is somewhat similar to the opening post with only few changes. i like to play games in this awesome screen. i use wifi for an hour or so. i need 12 hrs of battery life with around 30mins of light gaming (temple run/stick cricket/fruit ninja etc) what romand kernel should i use which would give me optimum battery life? currently i am on ARHD8.1 with stock kernel.
Try n3ocort3x's kernels. He's developing his kernels for the most battery life without compromising the ui smoothness and performance. Does pretty well on sticking your custom underclocked values and does a great job on undervolting.

I saw this but it says 1.29 base for stock rom. I am running the 2.15 leak. Maybe I will put a JB build using his kernel repacked for one.
Im on Cloudy 2.0 with ChupaChups 2.1 kernel. What are your configs to get a good performance and battery life? Thanks!

I'm trying smartassV2 controller... so far so good. Amazing performance +42k on antutu and great battery file. Probably more than 48 hours of normal use.
should some expert tell me configuration for performance and fluid, i donĀ“t care about battery life, i just want as fluid as cyanogen
Whe are lucky, can change battery so no problem for me with battery life
I find that the stock kitkat rom on the s4 mini has pretty poor battery life .. cannot hold up a whole working day. What rom do you recommend for improved battery life?
For my galaxy s5, I found that touchwiz roms have much better battery life than aosp roms. Is it the case for the s4 mini?

For me, the best battery life is by far on cm13, marshmallow. I have been on stock kitkat, cm12.1 and now cm13. Battery easly hold up to 24 hours and with less than average usage maybe 36 hours.
ok thx! will try cm13 .. I did not try it because I thought it was not stable enough
it is this rom right?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...i9190-i9195-cyanogenmod-13-0-s4-mini-t3276141

Yeah that's the one. :good:
for baterry life ,maybe te last nightly of cm12.1 ....and parameters of kernel :
change interactive for ondemand ,row for fiops...and underclock (if you don't use some"big games" it's useless to have all the power of the cpu)
.......or maybe the last f4k kernel with more parameters but i don't know if it work fine....

The best battery life I can get with this phone is with the last stable release of CM 12.1, and with the last f4k kernel for this ROM. This kernel allows undervolting. I can use a global offset of 150mV for all the frequency without any sign of instability (I have been using this settings for months). You should also deactivate wifi, bluetooth, NFC and so on if you are not using it. Also, use the power saving mode of you phone. With these settings and an extremely low using of my phone (only sms/whatsapp), it lasts for a week. I also put it in airplane mode during the night to save battery.

You can also power off your phone to have unlimited battery life Oh, im just kidding. With average usage on cm13 i have 4h30m sot.
Is f4k's kernel compatible with cm13? Or do we have a custom kernel for that version of cyanogenmod?

Ahah you're right. I challenged myself to get the very most out of my battery . 4h30 is not a lot though, might be due to the early stage of development of cm13.
I haven't found a custom kernel for cm13 yet. The development of this rom started something like 1 month ago, so that's a bit early I think.
What's the best battery rom and kernel that doesnt sacrifice performance ? Thanks!
I'm currently trying DU, but I'm not a huge fan of it. I would recommend Pure Nexus ROM as the best ROM, and I'm going to go back to is as soon as I can.
For kernels, I've used ElementalX, Jolla, and Phasma, and they're all about the same. It more depends on what CPU Governor/Profile you use that will get your the best battery life.
I found out Tesla rom + EX as the best battery friendly combo, try it
Questions like that are not allowed on XDA because all devs are hard working on our devices and saying this is better than this is not friendly for devs !
And there's no rom based on battery ... Only franco kernel is based on battery.
I'm also current using Pure Nexus, ElementalX Kernel with Hawktail 1.2 as my CPU Gov. Though i'm currently testing it out, i got a full 5 hours SOT, this includes watching vids from Youtube, playing games (30 mins) and mostly browsing in Facebook. I didn't also let my phone to go idle on screen off as i'm testing out how many hours i can get without turning off the screen. My brightness level is 25% without ambient settings. I'll post a complete review tomorrow as i'm testing now the ROM with my usual daily tasks. But so far, the ROM is so great and i can't feel any overheat, which happens to me from the stock ROM.
