I am about to do a factory reset as HTC suggested so i want to save all my settings and application before. How do i backup my data ? And is the backup destination the SD card ?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
yes the destination is the SD card, and also do you have clockwork mod installed?
If you want to save data, etc, do a backup via CWM,
if you want to save just the apps and data use titanium backup by doing a "Batch Backup"
If you want contacts save them to a SIM
I have a normal unrooted stock Rom. Will the titanium backup work on my phone ?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
you need to be rooted to use titanium backup, or at least i think you do to use all the features, i think with you not being rooted i think you could do a full back as it wouldnt modify any program files, just copy them...
download it from the market ad give it a go, if not you can always use POB visionary and do a temp root to back everything up
May I ask how to back up "linked contacts" ?
I mean once I set up Gmail contacts and link some of them manually with "Facebook for HTC Sense" and "Tweeter for HTC Sense" If I flash a custom rom all linked contacts will be gone I guess, How can I protect them so that I will not bother to link them again?
Hello, i wanna ask if there is a way to flash a new rom but to keep my current aplications. Or to restore the apps from a backup that i made before the flash.
Sorry for my bad english and sorry if this has answered many times before . . .
thanks

seems to be easy. i will try it.
titanium backup is another good app for this. i believe it can now backup/restore sms and call log, though not tried this feature yet.
also backup your contacts to google if you haven't already.

look on your sd card...a folder called TitaniumBackup
edit: just in case, your nandroid backups are stored in sdcard/clockworkmod/backup, assuming you're using cwm or 4ext.
it's good idea to keep a couple safe on the PC.

If your phone is rooted, then Titanium Backup or Root Delete or /system/app/delete app from the playstore are the best. If not rooted, you cant do anything, unfortunately.

I installed the app to remove but when i tried to remove the device restarting and start optimizing apps again
Which app are you using to delete the apps. Some versions of Titanium backup may not work. So use root delete app or /system/app mover app.

I have tried this as well, using paid version of Root Explorer and TB PRO. Unable to delete system apps.
I am thinking that this maybe because of the S-ON that we have.
As of now, I cannot delete bloatwares inside the system app.
Did u use the system write disable mod in the original development forum... Use that and u will be able to have most of the features like that of s-off.... Before this mod i couldn't permanently delete the apps and couldn't install some of the apps like adaway xposed etc... Using this mod disables the system write protection... So we can enjoy most of the benefits of s-off.....

Hi guys need help regarding random reboot after trying to uninstall system apps like Google Drive, newsstand, etc.
The problem is right after I uninstall system apps it will reboot. And after I check it again using root Explorer, the app is still there.
My device is a5dwg stock rooted.
Already tried the wp_mod.ko file but it didn't work.
Did something is wrong or did I miss something?

Flash this, it should solve your issue.

After flashing, then delete the system apps you want to get rid of.

If you flashed that already, maybe it's the file explorer your using?
Try ES File Explorer as I have had no issues with that, or the app "System App Remover"

I think yes since the backup is an APK. I use ROM tool box to back up my apps and data. After you back up the apps copy the to the m9 or just put the m8 sd card in the m9 and restore the apps through rom tool box.

thank you , its working just restoring .
I would wonder if there might be a conflict between 32- and 64-bit format of apps. Maybe the M9 is backwards compatible for 32?
