So everytime I try to register a Snapchat account it says it can't connect to the servers. Tried it on Resurrection Remix ROM and Prism (stock). I do know about the new update from snapchat that blocks root users, but Snapprefs supposedly has fixed this and it doesn't work. (no one in the Snapprefs thread has a problem with it) Anyone else has this problem? Thanks!

You may have it figured out by now, but I had this problem with an unrooted ZF2 last night. I ended up going into Settings, Applications, force stopping snapchat, wiping it's cache and data, and trying to log in again. Worked for me.
I'm thinking they got a little too crazy with their "security updates"
Can't create an account on Snapcat

Hi all, I have googled and tinkered and have come across the area but no solutions have worked for me yet.
I had the issue on Genysis Rom and now on Blisspop. Basically any page that has ads on it comes back with this error "Err_Connection_Refused" and on any browser (Opera,Chrome,Dolphin,FireFox). I had MinMinGuard but turned it off and uninstalled it, yet the error persisted. I also removed xprivacy and the error persisted. I factory reset and tried with no root apps installed and still - the error persisted.
I am now thinking there are some hidden proxy settings or something I might have turned on by accident? I tried with Wi-Fi and data and it is there in both instances. I'm stumped.
I have greenify, crappalinks, flat style, g4 tweaksbox, instagram downloader, and youtube adaway. (I did try without the YouTube adaway and it did not help . )

Have you tried reinstalling the roms from scratch, not just factory reset, with no antivirus or adblocking at all to start with? Does it do this on stock rom?
Try deleting host file.
Do you only get this on your G4? Or your laptop or other devices as well?
I had this issue a few months ago with all of my devices on my home network. It's a DNS issue with your network, doesn't have anything to do with your phone.
Try changing your DNS to Google's Public DNS in your router settings. If you aren't sure how to do it a quick Google search with your router model will help you.
Google DNS servers are :
Primary : 8.8.8.8
Secondary : 8.8.4.4
Try that and report back ,
I found a solution! I'm going to point out what I did in case this happens to anyone.
File manager > system > etc > hosts > rename to hosts1.
Voila!
Thank you for your suggestion J!
Anyone else having trouble logging into snapchat after installing the Genisys rom? Have tried both 3.2 and 3.4 and I can't log in to snapchat with it. Tested on my m8 and got right in and when I went back to stock MM it worked perfectly fine again. Tried one more time on 3.2 and same problem again. Is there something I am missing here or is snapchat just not working on that rom?
Error msg reads:
Oh no! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again later. If your login continues to fail, please visit "link to snapchat support"
So, i've used Snapchat on both
Stock (5.1.1 - Oi1 Rom) and Custom Rom (Renegade)
I can't seem to get it to work on the custom rom, i've always had to use the stock rom and it would work just fine, but on the other it would say "temporarily logged out" or something different, but when i boot back to stock, its fine and doesn't hesitate to say that.
Am i missing something here?? i've already tried resetting my password 5 times to be sure.
Snapchat 9.1.17.1.0 -- Xposed Snapprefs 1.6.2
Snapchat and Root
I don't use Snapchat, but this might explain your issue:
http://www.xda-developers.com/snapchat-is-at-it-again-and-blocks-root-users-but-for-how-long/
Snapchat detects Root and stops working, XDA builds a work-around into Xposed, Snapchat puts out a new patch and repeat.
Found something new: Try updating to Snapprefs 1.6.4. And you will find more help here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-snapprefs-ultimate-snapchat-utility-t2947254
Thank you!
I've actually ended up researching and figuring it outmyself my way or work around.
Snapchat checks or scans to see if "Xposed" which leads me to not log in.
So in order to use Snapchat with Snapprefs or 3rd party, you would need to either
Install stock and root it, then log into snapchat with the latest version and then go to recovery to install xposed.
or
Install stock and root then boot to recovery to install the custom rom and do no install xposed framework.
Once done with booting up and setting up, install snapchat latest version, log into it and then install xposed.
once thats done download 'xinstaller' and check to enable downgrading and updating and then install 'snapprefs' for all the
juicyness of customizations.
Profit!
My configuration.
Snapchat -
9.17.1.0
Xposed -
75 wanam 20151008 - seems to work best for me on both roms instead of v79.
Snapprefs -
1.6.2

I found a work around for it my phone died and I signed into my sc from another device used it and logged off when I tried signing in on my phone I got temp login failure notice this is what I did to get back on:
On a second device, download latest version and sign into Snapchat
Once done, root second device and download titanium backup
Make a back up of Snapchat from second device and send the .tibkp back up or whatever to the first device
On first device download latest version of snapchat and titanium back up and restore the data only from the file you sent to the first device from the second device
Once done use sc like normal
Works fine unless you sign out from Snapchat on the second device so what I did is I froze Snapchat on the second device and erased the back up.
Why does Snapchat do this? Does anyone have any idea why?

They make a silly app with an unenforceable premise, the app sucks and they block third-party alternatives, their security is awful, their background data drain is known to go nuts, and now they are blocking root users so they can better charge you for replays??
But still they can't tame the root..
p.s. the CEO is an Apple fanboy..
I have recently rooted Cyanogenmod on my LG G3 but I have run into a few problems. When trying to login to Snapchat it says "login temporarily failed". I have tried all they're solutions but to no avail. However on my 'guest' account on my phone I can login just fine. Anyone know a fix?

As already mentioned, snapchat won't work with xposed installed.
Just uninstall it, install snapchat and install xposed again. You will be able to use it without issue
It doesn't even work by uninstalling xposed anymore. We think the Snapchat devs got a bit more clever. Any new solutions? I really don't want to remove root (on Samsung S7edge)

Hi,
I'm fairly new to the Android rooting community, that said I have been jailbroken on iOS since the days of 1.1.2 and have rooting experience with KitKat. I have a Nexus 5X and after rooting, the phone worked fine. I installed TWRP 3.0.2 and Xposed framework, but for some reason I was unable to get Xposed to work. After a week of no issues with the phone, the Play Store stopped working, and Hangouts failed to send messages. I could send SMS via Messenger app and would receive the replies in Hangouts. I did a factory reset, and now I am unable to do anything. I cannot login to my google account, use the play store. Whenever I do anything I get a message that says:
Couldn't sign in
There was a problem communicating with the google servers.
Try again later.
I've searched the web and the forums for issues like this and can't find anything. I would really appreciate the help. It may be a simple mistake that I made as I am not fully aware of how the Android filesystem works.
Also when I check for updates, it stays that the last time it checked was: 12/31/1969. My clock is set correctly and I am connected to Wifi.
Wow!!! What ROM and gapps are you running?
I haven't seen this since my LG G2 a couple years ago. Hop in date and time in your settings and turn off automatic date and time and manually add it... Unless you're saying its right there.
I would try going to TWRP and wiping.
Wipe/advanced and then check every box except for internal storage. Then hit home and go back to install, choose ROM then gapps then vendor.
Xposed has to be installed as a zip from recovery before you can install/use the apk (in 6.0.1 anyway-use arm64).

Unfortunately I can't use data either since I am unable to activate my project Fi service (since I am not able to make any data connection).
I've resolved this by wiping and installing PureNexus. No idea what was going on with the factory ROM though.

Any chance you changed your Google account password around the time you reset the phone? I think there is some lockout mechanism if they detect password change then factory reset. I believe it is something like 72hour hold.
