Hello, I have bought used M8 with broken camera glass and camera also doesn't work (neither does flash). Any ideas? What should I do?
I can get to work the second back camera (picture its upside down) but primary is a no go.
I'll try warranty but I assume it will be declined (because of the broken glass). What else can I do? Would changing the primary back camera help (I looked online and It's about 15€). would it help?
did you ever get it working?

I dropped the phone and broke the back camera glass cover. I ordered the part online.. but after a few days, a black spot appeared on my lens (if you open the camera app). Initially, I thought it was a dust or something but after the replacement glass came in, I tried to clean it but it won't come off.. so, now I'm thinking it's a scratch. So... it looks like I need to replace the camera. Has anyone else done it? I want to... but, I don't to bother if a replacement won't be the original quality.

It's not that I don't know how... I've watched tutorials. Quality is the issue.

If you need a new camera it looks like you don't have a choice in this so you should do it

Hi everybody, My HTC M8 fall from 40m height, my screen was broken and camera not workin. As I am russian and my family lives there, I gave them my HTC so that they can take it to service center and get it fixed. They managed to fix the screen but not cameras, as they didnt know where to order them. So while being in Spain I ordered both cameras and then brought them to Russia and gave to service centre with the phone. So, here comes the problem, they disassembled my HTC took the metal casing where both cameras were and connected the new big one but connected without metal casing-hanging. So the problem is that it doesnt have AutoFocus now. More problems come now, when you connect small camera you cannot enter camera app and make photos( with only big one you can). So we took it to another center where they said that there is whatever problem with some plate or something and they cannot fix it. So its now laying on the bookshelf disassambled.
So my questions are :
1. Can I use it with only one big camera?
2. Does second camera affect autofocus?
3. If not, can it be fixed by mounting it to the original metal casing( which should hold it in a fixed position alowing micro movements for focusing, am I wrong?)?
4. Could it be some plate which connects small camera that doesnt allow second camera to function properly and what could it be?
Please Help me ASAP if you know anything about situation like that.
HI,
I purchased a whole screen/frame assembly to repair my cracked LG Wing. I removed all the parts from broken phone to the new assembly. Everything works fine except for the front facing camera. It will raise up and take pics, but does not go back down when you close the camera app nor power on/off the phone. Has anyone had this issue and got a fix for it or just know what the issue is? Thnx!
NVM....I found the issue. It was a bad logic board causing the problem.
