Hi all, i know a few people will say im asking the same question but alas i have to ask as im confused reading so many posts/ threads. How do i go about rooting my LG G4? I saw on one thread about it being a AT&T, Tmobile, Verizon etc, but mine is vodafone, and i have no ideal what code thingy it is either. Is there a noobie freindly way of doing it all?

vodafone in uk? if so, i'm gonna assume it's a LG G4 H815 EUR/INTL, you check this by looking at the box, or it'll be under settings/about phone (i'm guessing as i'm waiting for mine to be delivered). find out what version it is then report back here
but no, as a short answer, there's no noob friendly way of rooting the device. but post back what it is and we can direct you to the right thread

Hi all,
Please excuse the n00b-ness of the question, but I've been looking around and can't find what I'm after.
I'm lucky enough to have a CDMA Diamond (Vodafone UK) but naturally I'm bored with the stock ROM's. I've tried looking about for CDMA compatible ROM's but I'm drawing a blank.
Can anyone help by pointing me to the right place? I'd like a crack at the Energy-ROM series as they look rather tasty, but alas, from what I can work out - they're GSM only.
Am I being a total muppet or are there very few CDMA ROM's out there?

I was once like you trying to flash my phone but don't have a single idea how to do it lol although mines a gsm phone. (and am still quite a nooby on how to customize my device & etc)
Just try researching more and one day you'll find the right place.

Before I begin to ask My questions, I want to say that it's been a very long time since I've been on this site and it is completely different than it used to be and I'm unsure of how to find results the way I used to. Please do not bash for asking these questions as all I'm asking for is help.
I have just gotten an LG Optimus G Pro a few days ago (I know I'm late) someone gave this and cash for the iPhone 5s. I was very tired of apple and wanted a change. Anyway, I had issues with just about every tutorial on rooting I could find, until I found an app that did it. I only rooted because I'm on a prepaid carrier and root was required to change apn settings. Now I want to play around with some ROMS. I'm asking that you just comment a link to a post that shows instructions or a youtube video or something. I'm completely lost and confused and I would really appreciate it.

Any reports on the recent vzw ota? I have refused to take it because my phone is working well, but I also don't want to lose the ability to update later if 5.1, or M become available at some point. I'm not seeing any threads regarding it, so I was kinda looking for peoples feedback good or bad.

Look in the VZW forums that are specific to that model. Here's the thread talking about 24B:

That should hopefully answer any questions you might have and if you others concerning it, that would be the best place to ask since most VZW people post in those forums. I myself peruse these forums because there still can be good diamonds found for the VS985 G3 in the "all other variants" G3 forums, but I mainly hang out in the VS985 forums for the G3 since the latest info specific to that phone will be found there first more than likely.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but i see that this subforum is MUCH more active than the Sprint subforum, I currently have the sprint htc one m8. I've been looking at the CM12 roms and i wanted to know if i can install them and still be able to use my sprint service? Again, sorry if this is a stupid question.

I'd search the thread on keyword Sprint. And see if its mentioned. And if it's not in the OP, you could ask.
Keep in mind, most roms in the international section are for GSM phones... I believe.
Alright, I knew it was a stretch and was just hoping it was possible to somehow make it work with Sprint. Anyways thank you for actually replying.

I searched the Sprint Q/A and couldn't find anything, i also forgot to mention my phone is S-ON. I have a feeling you would need S-OFF for this to be even remotely possible?

The reason I am saying this and not just giving you the answer is because lately there are dozens of new members not searching and asking the same extremely well known basic questions that 5 mins of reading would explain to them
Writing out the same answer multiple times a day gets boring
Read some threads, Google some things

short answer is no. pretty much only S9s that are rootable are the ones not built for the US market

Nope good day thanks, I think that was as reasonable answer considering how easy it is to find the answer and how many times it has already been asked and answered, anyone who says otherwise has not even bothered
S9s released in March 2018, in 16 months how much info do you think is already around about this exact question? Not just on XDA
Takes 5 minutes to read a few threads and find your own answer rather than being lazy and wanting to be spoon fed and get other members to constantly repeat themselves, and you might learn something along the way

no, but you can flash the U1 firmware which is very unbloated and un-branded
