Phone is randomly locking, slowly. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

All, I've got a Sprint S6, running OI1, with unikernel. I do have xposed and like 2 modules running but don't think they are the cause.
While the phone is being used, it will randomly stop responding then the lock screen background will show up then slowly the rest of the lock screen items appear. Sometimes I have to press power off and on before an unlock swipe will work. Then the phone is fine for a while.
Any ideas?

Had the same problem, I've heard its the UniKernel v9, Try to install V8, it stopped doing that when I installed V8

Interesting! I've been running it for months and it just started acting up...

[Q] Anyone experiencing lock ups?

Had my SGN for a few days now and over the last two I have come to find the phone won't respond after pushing the wake button. Some times the the notification light will be flashing, but the screen just won't turn on.
So far I've pulled the battery 4 times since yesterday... I can't find any reports of this, so I'm hoping I just got a defective unit.
I believe you have a rogue app. When I installed wave launcher it would lock the phone up in this fashion. The only way I could get the screen to turn on was to call the phone and while still on the call I had to uninstall the app and all was fine.. try and remember if you recently updated or installed an app and see if that fixes it

I got mine Friday, and when coming out of sleep the screen would turn on, but would be unresponsive to touch. If I pulled the battery, it was fine. I setup face detect to see if the phone was still active, and that would unlock it fine, I just couldn't touch the screen. I exchanged the phone yesterday with a new Nexus, and haven't had a problem since.
I believe the bad app was twicca. I installed right around the time the crashes started, and since removing it I haven't had any more crashes.
Saw another thread regarding pretty much the same issue, was SetCPU.
Previously used to see this (other devices) when something was underclocking CPU when phone was asleep, and phone wouldn't wake up)...
Anyway, glad to hear it sounds like you've got it.

[Q] random reboots when waking g pad -- any ideas?

MY v500 G Pad is experiencing a weird issue where immediately after waking the device (via knock-on or power button), my lock screen will appear as expected, but then almost immediately the screen will become unresponsive (I'm unable to swipe my pattern to unlock) and the display will dim in increments until black. Once the screen is off, I have to hold down the power button to get the device to reboot.
The changes I have made that seems to coincide with this issue are:
1. rooted the device using the .bat script method
2. installed TWRP recovery
3. switched to Nova Launcher
It's important to note, I have not rom'd my device, and am still running the stock rom.
This is happening one out of every 15 or so times I unlock my device. I have switched from pattern to password unlock to see if it's an issue related specifically to the pattern lock screen (although I have used pattern unlock since the day I got the device).
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I don't have that issue and I'm stock , rooted and with twrp you should probably check it's either some settings causing this or more likely an app you installed.

Thanks for the info Naruto. I think I'm going to remove Nova launcher and see if the problem goes away.
Meanwhile, the problem just happened again, but manifested itself slightly differently. Basically, just a few minutes ago when I pushed the power button to wake the device, nothing happend for ~ 10 seconds. Finally, the lock screen came up, but I got an error message "Sorry! Process system isn't responding. Do you want to close it?" Options were "Wait" and "OK". I selected OK and was taken to the lock screen like normal.
What do you guys think?
I had root from dalingrin and twrp on stock rom for about 2 months and i never experienced this issue you report. The lock screen is related to the launcher and as you use nova launcher i d say that it is most probably caused by it.
Thanks for all the help guys. I'm not ready to say that the problem is fixed quite yet, but after switching back to the stock launcher and rebooting, I have locked and unlocked the tablet about 50 times without issue. Looks like the problem was indeed Nova Launcher. That's kind of a bummer because I love Nova, and I have it setup exactly like my phone and it works great for me.
Maybe you could try to re download nova again that's what I'm using and I have no issues. Maybe it was a setting you had checked inside of its settings ?

I got the same thing on a completely unmodified G Pad last weekend. It happened once, worked ok for a few unlocks, then happened a second time. Each time I had to hold the power button down to force a reboot. It's hasn't happened before or since, so I've no idea what caused it, but I did notice something that might or might not be relevant - I happened to be looking at the battery graph later that day, and noticed that at the time of the forced reboots, the battery appeared to drop instantly by about 10%. There was a break in the graph - no vertical line showing the drop, the line just ended, then started off again immediately 10% lower down. If you get the same issue again, it would be interesting to see if your battery graph behaved in the same way.
I had this problem with stock rom changed to Mahdi
No reboots yet.
By the way, I saw a review video on YouTube and the guy was showing knock knock (spell?) and the g pad just crashed and rebooted.
Edit:
I have an LG G2, best phone ever never crashed no lag and a fast phone with great LCD maybe the best mobile screen I have ever seen.

Ok, so I don't think the problem was nova launcher after all. After switching back to the stock launcher, the tablet worked great for several hours, but eventually the problem started happening again. At that point, I rebooted into recovery, cleared cache and dalvik, then fixed permissions, and rebooted. Fingers crossed, but the issue hasn't returned once since, and we're going on 18 hours. I've even been using nova launcher without issue. Still not sure what the issue is, but at least for me, clearing cache and fixing permissions has worked so far.

There is a known issue with 4.2+ of rebooting if you have third party widgets (Not sure which) on the lock screen. Do you have any on there?

Thanks for that -- unfortunately I don't have any third-party widgets on the lock screen.

HTC desire 816 anoying turning off PLEASE HELP!!

Hi i have this supper anoying problem after 5.0.2 update! So basicaly What it does is when ever i will pick up the phone it would turn off like the screen would dim (not rebbot or shut down) and after a little tapping on a screen it would turn on again and sometimes when it does that it would glitch a little. While typing this it happened twice its sooooo anoying idk what to do now if i wont find any solutions i will just buy samsung galaxy or something like that. Also my carrier is Virgin Mobile thanks
Same problem, same phone.
Definitely annoying! Seems random but especially while rotating for me. I have not been able to dig up any solutions thus far.
Check out your proximity sensor settings in the HTC testing app, or try Gravity screen. Mine did the same thing a couple times, also clean off your screen at the very top left, if you look real good you can see the sensor just under the front camera hole in the glass, also sometimes a screen saver will mess with this sensor. One more thing is the stock lock screen can cause an issue similar to what you are talking about, hope one of these help yo out, cane0716

hi
thanks for information i already gave that phone to my friend and i think he fixed it by actually having different lock screen i currently have samsung galaxy s5 its wayyyy better lol
Phone turns off during use and will not complete boot unless plugged to charger even when the battery is almost full.
This error started last night after I did factory reset because of observed phone lag. I did mistakenly "wiped internal storage" but got the alert of "no OS during reboot", so I restored from my backup from SD.
the phone started properly but went off during initial setup and will go back off each time I tried turning it back on. I thought it was battery so I plugged it to power.
it did boot but will go back off once I have few touches on the screen.
I had to leave it plugged to setup my accounts else it will go off.
I'm using its Wi-Fi to send this message via my PC because any 2 - 3 touches will switch the phone off.
once it does that, it won’t even boot to bootloader before it goes off again unless plugged to power.
what I do to solve this please??

Home button sometimes not working and Screen randomly shuts off

I'm using my dad's Note 10.1 (2014) and I've been experiencing some problems. The screen would randomly just turn off (but it doesn't shut down) when I looked away. I thought it was the smart eye detection feature thingy but when I checked, it was already turned off. Another problem is that the home button and/or the capacitive just randomly stops working. Had to reboot the device in order to get it working again. At first I thought it was some hardware problem but I'm pretty sure it isn't. So yeah. Does anyone face the same problems? I've heard this device have some software issues that causes this but after some searching I got no answers.
Hi
I have your problem too. i have thiss issue on Stock rom. i use for one day Resurrection Remix ROM. i havn't see this issue.

Remap Power Button

My note 2 is quite old. Only few days ago, the power button need to be pressed using my nail for it to worked. It is pretty hard on some situation like driving for example. I'd like to remap its function to "Home" key which I rarely use. So, when I long pressed Home button, it will open up Power Menu, or when the phone is off, long pressing Home will turn the phone on.
However, my phone also has a "medical condition". It sometimes just freeze when the screen is off. Which forcing me to force restart it using "power+vol up+home". And here lies the problem. I'd like to just press "vol up+home/power". Is there any way around this problem?

What ROM are you using? I only ask because the freezing problem happened to me as well, mostly if the phone was inactive for a while, it happened to me because of a certain rom, then i shifted too Resurrection Remix 5.8.x from hibiscus and the freezing stopped completely and the phone is very responsive and smooth.

I'm using DN4. I've been using it for a long time (over a year), but this freezing thing just happen quite recently. I'd like to switch to other ROM, but I've fallen in love with Note4's multi windows feature. Kinda hard to let it go. And I haven't found any specific ROM that caught my attention.
Btw, I'm also looking for ROM that mainly build for gaming/video(online & offline).

Well if you feel like having a faster and more responsive device, nothing beats aosp, touchwiz is always a little too heavy on the device. You could try RR by hibin, and with a few tweaks using apps such as HEBF you should have a perfect phone for gaming.
