Nexus 5x Internal Storage App Installation; Supersu Problems
I should be able to download zip files from the internal storage, but it won't work. This actually leads up to the other supersu problem because I can't download updates for it which is also posted on the XDA fourms. I can't show pictures right now but I will keep working on my activity to be able to, but the internal storage is when you boot into recovery mode and hit install. There will be apps you can apparently download there, but there's absolutely no way to do it unless I just get an SD card plug.
Also, the Supersu fails to update normally and I don't know how to update it, so I need some help. I do not know the instructions on how to flash the recovery file, and there is no video or specific instructions on how to do so. That would be very very helpful if that was given.
I would be grateful for support. Thanks in advance.

[Q] no OS and ROM zip files corrupted on external SD!

While on the below thread .. I eventually ended up making my TWRP to format my data, system, cache, as well as internal storage!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46522379&postcount=364
Now it is all gone. successfully.
Note, when i formatted the internal storage - it did ask me to restart to update the partition tables. I did that. I warned me that there is no OS. I went ahead and restarted in recovery. I could browse using TWRP->advanced->file manager and see the zips on external sd card.
I had gapps and rom zip files copied on external SD card. When I try to flash those in TWRP, it throws an error - E: unable to open zip file!
Now I can not flash any of those! there is no OS also on the phone! I suspect that the external SD card is corrupt! I have good zip files on my computer (it has no working sd card reader).
Is there any way, i can transfer these zip files from my computer to phone's internal storage from where i can flash them?
please help!

There's no way to effectively access internal SD without having been mounted first.
But there are two ways you can do this.
1. Take the MicroSD Card and insert into the PC via Card Readers. Then copy the zip files there. Properly eject the card from PC then insert it into the phone. Now TWRP will recognize the files and flash them. If it still does not then its a bad download so download again. Also while there, get the MD5 values as well for your zip files. This allows the recovery to validate the files. If you still have errors then roll back TWRP to version 2.5.0.0
2. Put phone in download mode. Use Odin on PC to flash one of the rooted stock roms. After that, proceed to re-download on phone and try again.
P.S. - I typically never let Recovery to format my external card. Then the file system issues start popping up.
EDIT - I noticed from your other post that your PC does not have a working SD Card Slot. In that case, you could put the card in another phone and then copy the files to this sd card and then use that way.

How do I flash CM or MIUI ROM using odin? I am trying to search the forums but unable to find anything! odin needs a tar file and all these roms come with zip file! What do I do?
You can't unless the dev specifically made an Odin flashable version, which they never do. Flash the stock root66 firmware with odin.
You can't access the internal storage simply because it's not there anymore. When you chose to format data, it completely wiped out the /data partition. Your internal sd is really located at /data/media, but until you can reboot, this won't be recreated.
I doubt the external sd is corrupt or you would've seen issues before your wiping frenzy. But you can use adb while in recovery to connect the phone to your computer. Search for adb sdk install guide, or similar.
Best option now is to try Odin flashing the root66 firmware.
Oh, and you probably know by now, but never format system! This should only be a last resort type thing imo. Never understood why people recommend it for things like prepping for a Rom flash. The Rom will format system during install anyway.

I used this
http://apcmag.com/how-to-unroot-your-galaxy-s3-and-flash-it-back-to-stock-rom.htm
and got the stock rom back. appeared like that was the only way to get back to running system. Now it's alright.
to my surprise, following problems disappeared.
1. The SD card no more automatically ejects!
2. battery lasts longer!
3. no random reboots at all!
never thought .. i would feel good getting back to stock rom !
Isn't that exactly what we were telling you to do in the first place though? Use odin to flash stock/root66 firmware? I think you just took the long way is all. I also have all that firmware hosted so people could download it much faster than by using sammobile or samsung-updates hotfile downloads.
Either way though, glad you got it running again!
Just posting so others know if they come across this in the future.

yes guru! you said it.
I tried adb route too ... but for some reason it never detected my device. I tried removing, installing drivers, getting sdk and all. then tried the odin route.
Now will stay with this rom for some days ... before I get back to MIUI ... want to see it working ... for some reason it was continuously making my phone reboot! now that it is a clean slate, i hope this time, it will work!
fingers crossed!
If you want to try adb again for anything in the future, there's a different driver pkg that would probably help there. Adb universal drivers. Theyre in my driver repo with the rest if you ever need them.

[Q] Help: Mounting Internal memory as USB Mass storage

I spent the last 6 hours searching and trying all kinds of method to get the internal memory to come up as Removable drive so i can perform a file recovery.
I am currently using the Cm11. M2 snapshot from 1/4/14. Before i installed this app, i decided to try Cyanogenmod installer from their website. The installer doesn't let me select or do anything, as soon as the app runs, it started downloading, wiping your phone and installing whatever rom it download. I ended up using recovery mod to flash the latest firmware but now, everything on the internal memory has been wiped.
I have tried using apps that would enable USB mass Storage but no luck, i was able to get the SDcard to mount and shows up as removable drive but not the internal memory.
Please help!

[Q] No internal storage in PA 5.0

Probably an easy fix, but I am at a loss. I flashed Paranoid Android 5.0, re-rooted with chainfire, got su and busybox all up to date and started rebuilding my tablet. When I open gallery it says "no external storage available" then closes, and I can't download anything from the internet because all my apps are trying to use an sd card, however play store downloads apps just fine. But I guess the new PA 5.0 moved my old files to a different folder in internal storage, and I can't point any apps to that directory, and the new emulated SD folder just doesn't work.
edit: still not fixed, and Google hasn't been much help.
the twrp manager app ran an sd card patch it said it needed, could that be the issue?
every app that allows you to manually point to a directory only lets me point at the sd card, strange... we don't even have an sd slot??
I've already done all the simple stuff, clear cache/data factory reset/reflash rom, nothing works
Anyone know what's going on here?
In not on PA to but I have the same problem. I can not download anything to my tablet and my computer is broken so I have been sick with this situation for months. I how there is an easy solution.

SD Card/TWRP Install Issues

I am running LD with no problems, very smooth. But something is up with the portion and/or adaptive storage settings, because every time I try and flash something I have an extremely challenging time trying to find the files in question. For example, Gapps had the latest update, and when I reboot to recovery to flash it I can't find the file. I look in the basic directories (sdcard\folder and storage\folder) and there's nothing there. But when I'm using an app like RootBrowser it's right where it's supposed to be (for me that's sdcard\tmp directory). I'd rather not reformat my card to portable storage, but if someone could guide me how to best rectify the problem without losing all my SD data I'd really appreciate it.
any solution yet?
Are you referring to 'shared' internal storage? Where you've combined the internal storage with the sdcard storage? If so then read this post, it was my solution and has worked well through several updates.

storage corrupt

hello, this is my first time for install custom rom on my find 7, i follow tutorial around here, got brick and thank god, finally los 15.1 installed on my phone, but on storage, there's sdcard1 is corrupt, and not change when i format, i flash removelvm.zip, cant access internal storage for taking photo, etc..
please, can someone help..?
1. i followed tutorial How to guide (8.1 Android) LVM Chinese Unification Storage Method by @brownboy1289
2. i flash LOS 15.1
3. gapps pico
4. cm13 patch
5. removelvm.zip
can anyone help.. thanks before..
*sorry for my bad english..
I have a similar setup as yours. I did not install #5 on your list. I have also played with crDroid. I ditched crDroid because I kept having corrupt storage issues and I would lose apps because of the storage. I did confgure my sdCard as internal storage.
I'm currently running LOS15.1 and it does seem to be more stable than crDroid regarding storage. Yes, in the Storeage app it shows sdcard0 as corrupt but the sdCard does appear to be being used as internal storage and I don't have issues with apps disappearing. The sdCard is a little slow at mounting at boot and will get an error that says insert sdCard but after a few seconds all is fine. TWRP does not function well with the sdCard as internal memory so I fash stuff from a USB drive connected through an OTG cable. OS updates through the LOS update work well with TWRP and the OTG USB is not needed for that
I have rooted my phone, then i installed s9 rom and now my system recognizes only 16gb out of 64gb(I have an S8).I don't know what should i do.I couldn't find anyone with the same problem.I think it may be because of a problem during installation of Rom and something got corrupted. Is this what you say what happened to me because im kind of a noob with root...Can you help me?
