[HELP] Unbrick and keep files? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
I need help here. I'm running (or was running) Euphoria ROM on a Verizon LG G3 with TWRP installed. Without changing/flashing/installing anything new for the past several weeks my phone just shut off yesterday. When I try to power on normal the LG screen comes on then after a few seconds turns off and won't turn back on without a battery pull. Next, if I try to boot into recovery (power + volume down then release and hold volume down + power) and it boots into a "Modified Recovery" that looks like stock LG software but has more options than just factory reset (normal boot / factory reset / wipe cache / safe mode etc). When I try any of these options it reboots, shows the LG boot screen then shuts off and won't restart without a battery pull. I can enter download mode by holding up and inserting the USB while connected to my PC.
Questions:
1) Is it possible restore my phone without losing files/photos?
2) Can I transfer my files to my computer or external SD card before reflashing to stock?
3) What is the easiest method to do any or all of this? LG G3 toolkit? ADB (which I will have to research to do)?
I apologize if there is an obvious place that has this and I missed it. Any links or answers are greatly appreciated!

Is it possible that this is a battery problem not a "brick"? Does the phone boot while charging? My phone had similar problems and the problem was the battery that was faulty.

I originally thought it was my anker battery but I tried with the LG stock battery and it's the same issue. The phone will boot when plugged into a power supply (wall charger or PC) but it just shows the LG screen and turns off and won't reboot.

Anyone? I really want to keep some of the pictures on the internal memory. All I've found is how to factory reset the phone which would delete them but I'd like to find a way to transfer them before I do this. THanks.

U said modified recevery cwm or twrp if thats the case download a random rom place it on your sd card and try to dirty flash a new rom or a otg cable and flash drive

It won't boot into TWRP. It just boot loops the LG startup screen. When i get into normal recovery and select factory reset it doesn't go into TWRP it just reboots, shows, LG screen then shuts off and I have to battery pull to get it to boot again.

If u have a ready linux setup not all people do but it helps sometime i know when i hard bricked it was the only was to save some data for me

Device charges but that's all.
Nothing detected in USB devices. I tried factory reset and different cables. No good.
I get no Android file transfer program ( I'm on a mac) when I plug into USB.
Any ideas?

I had major problems as well. Remove your SD card and download the 510 stock rom. Reinsert SD card and manually boot in recovery by powering off your device, then holding the down button and powering on your device while still holding the down button. This will put you into your bootloader where you will be able to access recovery and install the 510 stock rom.
of course, if you have a good backup you can skip the last part and once in recovery restore your backup to get you back into action. Look in the developer section for further possible ways to do this there is a full backup that you can install from TWRP that may solve your problem. I was unable to make it work, and am hoping somebody will find an answer for me, but maybe it will work for you!

broken screen - any way to recovery data?

Issue description:
My LGOG has broken screen - touch doesn't work.
I need to backup my data, but there is a lot of obstacles:
* usb debugging is disabled, so i cannot use adb,
* usb connection is set to 'charge' mode,
* phone is fully stock (kitkat - no root, recovery etc.)
I checked few solutions:
* USB OTG - does not work,
* flash recovery over fastboot - i can't boot into recovery i can access 'download mode' and 'hard reset mode' - in both cases fastboot doesn't see connected phone.
I have no idea what can i check in next step.
Maybe there is a way to extort phone to turn on usb debugging or usb mtp?
In addition phone is connected to wi-fi.
Thanks for your help
Try teenybin tool and then fastboot latest TWRP
Steps (i am not responsible for any data loss or anything )
-When you are done with teenybin you can go into fastboot by powerkey + volume up (phone Will vibrate )
-after a couple of minutes( we are not in any rush though, so leave it for 5,6 minutes) it will be in fastboot.
-flash TWRP through fastboot. (It will be done in about five minutes too, dont rush)
-then press volume down two times then press power to enter recovery.(if you dont see TWRP then just power off and get back into fast boot )
(phone will restart but no vibrations .my phone takes about 5-8 minutes to get into recovery so be patient and it might look it is stuck on google logo, yes Google )
-then connect your phone to PC when you are in recovery and your phone will be connected and you can transfer all your data from your phone.
This is how i unbricked my optimus G and simply copy paste ROM into phone and my data was there.
I have write it down as if your screen simply dont turn on but if LCD works then it will make sense.
Navigate in fastboot through volume and power keys no touch involved.
Plus i am not sure if download mode works after teenybin or not so if you plan to repair screen then don't do it or read teenybin threat more closely than me if download mode really works or not.
Plus teenybin will unlock bootloader and install recovery. And after that you will see google logo when you will turn own phone rather than LG's one so don't panic.
Again * I am not responsible for any data loss and your warranty will void*

There is another catch when you use TWRP for the first time a step comes when you need to use touch screen before it can be fully functional so i wish your phone is connected to your PC at that point which i think it will be other wise use older version of TWRP. (Find yourself) and for fast boot you need to have minimum adb and fastboot and lg specific drivers installed on your pc.
P.s follow teenybin steps clearly.

FIRST install the DRIVER from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
See in the part 2015 with TOT files...
(if any other drivers are present, uninstall them and do a clean install)
You need to get in Download mode to be able to fix it without having to open the phone.
1. Unplug phone from pc and power off
2. Remove back cover and remove the battery
3. Plug the micro-usb cable into the phone
4. Press and HOLD the VOLUME DOWN (make sure you press it from the edge, far from the powerbutton)
5. Put the battery - Dont let go of Volume Down yet.
6. Connect the micro-usb cable to the pc - Dont let go of volume down yet
7. Wait for the pc to recognize it, and the download mode appears on the phone, now you can let go of volume down
Repeat again, first time might not work.

PS, quote me because i might not see and answer then. good luck

Really Screwed Up - need some guidance

I hope I didn't end up with the proverbial brick, but I think I did. I was trying to restore my D-850 G3 to a native CM12 state to give to a family member. I did a good job with it but got stuck on not being able to change some settings. So I decided to wipe the cache and do a fresh install of CM12. I got far too aggressive and ended up wiping out everything. I have no recovery file on internal or external storage that I can access, and it appears the entire operating system is gone. I can't boot into recovery. When I try Power+volume up, nothing happens. I just get the LG startup screen and it's locked there. TWRP was on the phone but now I don't know if it is or not. If I could get to a menu and flash TWRP then CM12, I'd be OK I think (I just did that on the OnePlus 3). But I don't know how to get into the bootloader. I can probably find another way to load files onto the microSD card if that's necessary.
I tried downloading and using various LG support tools but I can't even get it recognized on USB - no adb, no fastboot, no way to get to anything.
I'd love to be able to rescue this phone from death but it's looking bleak.
Is there any hope here?
Do you remember which software you used?
I tried it on my laptop and I know it works with other phones (that aren't bricked), but all the G3 does is charge.
I installed LGMovileDriver_WHQL_ver4.04 and nothing.
Also LG PC Suite and it doesn't see anything.
I'm on Windows 10 - I do have an old PC running Win7.
If I could just get the device recognized via USB, I think it's salvagable.
To enter twrp its "power" + "volume DOWN"

I wish that worked but only resulted in the LG splash screen staying on until I removed the battery.

You're still soft bricked, just force your device into download mode and use LG Flash Tool to return back to stock and start again.

If I remember correctly (please check threads here, it's been a long time since I've used this device, so memories are fading), download mode is activated when you press Volume Up (or both of volume buttons) and insert USB cable. I know that E98x has some strange button sequences, like rebooting to recovery is a two step operation (Volume Up + Power until navbar blinks, then power button twice, that's the only way mine wanted to boot into recovery), so please check around.
As far as USB connection issues, don't use USB3+ ports and if you're on Windows 8.1+ and later, run with Administrator privileges. I never experienced that one (used LGFlashTools from inside VirtualBox running Win XP for all my needs, I'm not a Windows user), so can't really help much but forums are full with explanations how.

Thank you very much...now the phone is back to initial state. This what i've done:
1. Download LG Flash tool from http://lgflashtool.com/
2. Download LG USB Drivers from http://lgflashtool.com/
3. Install LG flash tool and LG USB Drivers
4. Plug usb cable to phone
5. Hold volume buttons and then plug the usb cable to PC (i use win 10)
6. Voila, the Download Mode icon is showed up
7. Run LG Flash Tool (Administrator privilege) & follow the instruction (i use e988 v20c stock firmware)
8. Phone back to normal (only if you use the correct stock firmware)
A very big thanks to ShadySquirrel
Hopefully this thread can also be used as reference for anyone who has the same issue as i had
