I have made some success with the help of @gee one providing me the necessary files needed for making tot file for both H790 and H791 32GB varaint Nexus 5X.
It was tested on @JaCh0o's bricked H791 32GB Nexus 5X
I am still waiting for somebody with a 16GB Nexus 5X to make me a dump of the Primary GPT (first 512 kb of the emmc) and the Backup GPT (last 512 kb of the emmc) to make tot file for the 16GB Nexus 5X too.
If sombody is in this situation please follow the guide.
Download TOT file for your device
Download LG usb drivers
Download LGUP tool
Download 8994 dll for LGUP
Install LG usb drivers
Install LGUP tool
Install 8994 dll for LGUP
Turn off your phone
Press and hold the volume_up key while you connect the phone to the PC with usb cable.
Wait for Windows to install the new drivers
Start LGUP

Either select refurbish (will wipe userdata) or upgrade (wont wipe userdata)
Click on the line where it says BIN file to make the button with "..." appear and click on it then select the tot file.
Click on start
This here is not important
I have a solution in my head for those who have locked their bootloader and disabled oem unlocking with a modified system and now they are stucked in bricked condition with their phones
To make this idea to a real solution I need some help from you guys as I dont have nexus 5x. My idea is enter to LG's download and flash a tot file for nexus 5x using lg flashtool. Since there are no leaked tot files for nexus 5x yet, so I will do one. I have dll file which will probably work for nexus 5x (90%).
First of all before I jump in head first to making a tot file, please let me know are you able to boot your nexus 5x to LG's download.
According to my sources to enter download mode you have to turn off your phone then plug the usb cable to the phone wile you keep pressing the volume_up key. If this key combination gets you into LG's download then it is great. To exit from LG's download just keep pressing the power key and the phone will shutdown. If it does not work then it is still possible to enter download mode but with using LG's 910kOhm usb cable.
The next things I need are dump files of Primary_GPT (first 512 kb of the emmc), misc partition (to see LG's version numbering for nexus 5X, it is important for tot files), laf partition and Backup_GPT (last 512 kb of the emmc). For GPTs I will need both the 32 gb and the 16 gb variants of the phone.
Download mode does work with volume up. I'm not sure about the USB cable, but I did get into download mode several times while trying to "fix" my phone.
Think I have the other files for the 32gb variant as well, but I'm traveling right now.
Boots into download mode. Shows up in Device Manager as USB serial on COM3.

Also can confirm that phone is loading Download Mode.
I have locked oem after turning on OEM control in Developer Mode, then wiped by TWRP whole availible partitions and flashed stock recovery on it. Now got "clean" phone with no way to get working.
Here's my thread about that issue:

What aprox time we gonna wait for stock tot files ?? I'm thinking about shipping phone to LG Service (would prefer to do it by myself) It's not my phone and the preson is pressing on me about that. Will your tot files makes phone tamper flag on? Is it possible to set in off back again ?

I am done with the tot file for the 32gb variant, thanks to @gee one
I am still waiting for the 16 gb variant's primary gpt and backup gpt dump.
If you have the 32 gb variant we can give a try.
Lg flashtool never sets tamper flag on. For nexus 5 it locks the bootloader and resets the tamper flag.

Download usb drivers
Download LG flashtool
Download dll file
Download H790 or H791 tot file for 32GB variant
Follow the steps in this video. I made this video for nexus 5, but everything is the same for nexus 5x too. Just use the the tot and the dll file I linked.
If you have the H791 variant can you check the device factory version? If you flashed the tot successfully you should see a LOG folder in the same directory as the dll file. You will find a .txt file in the LOG directory. Search for device factory version and paste it here. It is something like this: LGH790AT-00-V10f-NXS-XXX-OCT-03-2015-32G-MDA89E-US

As I can see this example is for US. Im from Poland (Central Europe). There will be no problem with radio/modem brandwitdth ? Is this for every H791 32GB Nexus 5x ? This dll file looks to be for LG G4, is it ok ?

Same modem is used for both nexus 5x, and for the dll it should not be a problem. LG Optimus G dll can be used for all LG optimus G and nexus 4, LG G2 dll can be used for all LG G2, G3 and nexus 5. And I think that "US" at the end of file name is a short form of USER and not united states, but I cannot tell for sure until you post the device factory version of a H971.
Edit: The only differance between the two tot file is the model string and tot version string.
For H790 the model string is LGH790 and the tot version string is LGH790AT-00-V10f-NXS-XXX-OCT-03-2015-32G-MDA89E-US
For H791 the model string is LGH791 and the tot version string is LGH791AT-00-V10f-NXS-XXX-OCT-03-2015-32G-MDA89E-US
These two strings makes no differnace it could be anything, but sadly lg flashtool will throw an error like model mismatch H790 => H791 if you try to flash a H791 tot file to a H790, so this is the only reasone why we need seperate tot files. And also the most recently flashed tot file's version number will be written to the misc partition so that is why I ask for the device factory version to dont screw up the versioning. But all these has no effect on the phone's behaviour.

Here's log. FAILED DoDownload Error! After 16 sec and 9%
This phone is after cleaning with TWRP Wipe All. It is Nexus 5X H791 32GB Euro (with last soft MRB08L).
By Device Factory Version you mean H791 or H790 yes ?? If so this is H791 for sure.
The question about radio and my concern about it is made by some notes:

Probably it is because of the 3gb system.img I try to flash is too big. Lg usually flash the system.img by braking it up to 10-15 pieces and flash these pieces after eachother. I will make a tot which flashes the system.img that way.
Do you still have twrp on your phone? If so can you still boot into twrp?

Thank you very much for soo much help...
I discovered this too while trying to flash newer system. Its impossible to flash-all by fastboot (zip concering all the main images with system 3gb) becuose of that. It goes successful only while manual flash every partition alone (while fastboot flash system system.img it sparse file into ~512MB parts).
No TWRP, got stock recovery. I thought i have failed and have to send it to LG Service Center, therefore i flashed original recovery (to make it as stock as possible).
Eagerly waiting for new tot file...
PS. I've found out that MBR08L and MBR08M have same release date (1. November 2015), I've tried to flash M version and on welcome screen phone asked me to choose gmt settings (where i didn't found nor Poland or Central Europe), while in L version it doesn't asks and put this settings properly by default. Is it possible that L i for poor countries and M is for States and wealthy ones ??

Ah I was wrong. The problem is the size of the modem.img (57973760 bytes) and not the system.img. I still have to figure it out what is wrong with the size.
If you manage to flash the tot file you can flash whatever rom you want with fastboot after you enable oem unlocking and unlock bootloader.

Hy nexus friends,
I need help from someone with a 791F 32GB. I dont know if a 790 or a 16gb version is identical.
It would be great if someone with a rooted device can make a backup for me of the bootloader bin files.
aboot, sbl1, rpm, tz, sdi, sbl1b, tzb, rpmb, abootb, misc, laf, persist.
I flashed the hammerhead bootloader and stuck at 9008 mode.
It will be ver great if someone could help me.
Some partition apps could make a backup or with the dd command.
If i fet a solution, i would post it here. At the moment i had the device and the tools that i flashed for test a nexus 5 sbl. So write is possible.
Thanks for help guys
Where can I see if my phone is 791F?

Ok. Just rebooted into bootloader and under "Variant" it says LGH791 but no F, sorry
Thx for your help.
You can backup the partitions with some partition backup apps or with dd.
If you look with a file explorer in /dev/block/platform/soc.0/f9824900.sdhci/by-name/XXXXX , XXXX there are the partiton names.
If you want to copy with adb, make adb shell, su, and then:
dd if= /dev/block/platform/soc.0/f9824900.sdhci/by-name/cmnlib of=sdcard/cmnlib.img
Around 36 partitons are in the MM build. System, cache, userdata are not needed..

Have you found a solution to get booting again? Been searching and tried multiple methods to repair my boot image on the H791 I own.
I have worked with another XDAer who extracted and now have the bootimage files from several stock H791 files available. They include the GPT from the stock image MDA89E and the boot image files from bootloader-bullhead-bhz10i.img bootloader-bullhead-bhz10k.img and bootloader-bullhead-bhz10m.img. Let me know if you still need these. I see 11 files in the boot image. During some testing I flashed over the sbl1 on my device and lost the ability do anything but go into QUSB DL mode 9008 as well.
As I am writing this I am now wondering if there is a separate set of SBL etc. files for the International variant? We may need to extract from the 791 tot file available the needed files if we do not have another method of obtaining them. Let me know if you have found a workable way to flash the needed boot images in place. Thanks.

I think the only way from my perspective so far is to manually flash the needed QComm/boot image/boot loader files with something that can interface with the phone. I am pretty sure I know a method to manually do this but need the flash programmer that works with this device to accomplish. Or if there is a way to add MSM8992 support to the BoardDiag tool, that would work...I have not given up, just have not had a whole lot of time to work on this the past 2 days.

Its possible then to flash a tot file with the lg up tool.
But i found only one tot file around the i net.
It will be flashed but hang in the bootscreen.
A org. tot or kdz file were great or a solution to create such a file.

So what is blank flash? on N6 thread .

Hello,
I recently post a thread regarding my lg g4 f500l has no display after flashing Europe rom and find no reply. But i manage to grab some info and help from different forms and combine them to revive my lg g4 which has no display, no download mode just blank screen i tried putting it in freezer and disabling big cores but no avail and unable to flash back to f500l through LGUP and lgflash tool 2014 because invalid kdz file.
NOTE:- MY LG G4 WAS WRITTEN AS H815 ON THE BACK STICKER THAT'S WHY IT HAPPEN TO ME
Flash Guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
So here what i did i found a thread flashing different kdzs by changing their name in hex editor so what i did i open F500l F500L20C_00.kdz with HxD hex editor which is free and press ctrl+r to search and replace F500L with H818N all the entries and save the file at desktop. And people who has no download mode remove your phone battery and attach a usb cable with pc your phone will show no battery icon so press vol up button and insert the battery at the same time lg logo will flash and you will go into download mode. it may take few tries though. now open LGUP and flash your modified kdz it will flash without any error... So your phone will boot up and will have display so you can setup your phone.
Ok as now you have working phone but still want to remove this Korean crap like me without having black screen i have simple method as you can flash any kdz even a dual sim one in single sim like me because for Indian network bands. Just download any kdz you want to flash from here http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G4/ for marshmallow i am not sure but it will also flash. After download open the kdz in WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.6. link in description now open up firmwareextract and select kdz and just extract only .dz file after completion select dz file option and select the extracted dz file click on file name so all file will be selected now click extract DZ you will have so Manny bin files. After extraction select Merge System.bin option so it will merge all bin files in one System.img file in merge_output folder of firmware extractor. So now you have the system file copy it in you lg g4 internal memory.
Now extract LG_Root.zip and and in extracted folder hold shift and right click and select open command window here. now open ports.bat file and see the port no of lg g4 the diaz1 one or you can see in LGUP tool either way note it down and close the ports windows now restart your phone in download mode by holding power up while connecting it to pc. Now in the command windows in pc type
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM12
COM12 is the port no you will get in ports.bat file make your you chose yours not this one.
now type id and press enter you will get some values if not disconnect and reconnect after that type
dd if=/data/media/0/system.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=548352 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
wait for some time till it come back on # and type LEAVE in caps your phone will reboot and you have new rom you will may get some error after booting just click ok or for avoiding them just hard reset your phone before booting just after type leave remove your battery and pu it back and press vol down + Power button when lg logo flash quickly release both and press vol up+vol down together you will be in reset menu just factory reset this process is for F500l only other model have different method or you can hard reset in setting after booting it you choice. So now you have a working g4 in any version kdz and you can also flashed rooted rom images found on XDA. So i hope you will find it useful. And our f500 bootloader is locked so cant flash twrp if anyone know different please tell me and how to flash custom rom on F500l it would be very nice of you.

Thanks Lucky, I lost all hopes in saving my phone
But your guide saved my LG g4.
Thank You + Additional Info
Hello All,
If you are here then you have flashed some incorrect version of KDZ file on device after that you aren't getting any display or other issues. Here is what i did.
1. Put your cell in recovery mode as mentioned in the above post (Remove batter -> Plugin the cable -> Hold "UP Vol Key" and Insert the battery -> hold the key until you are in recovery mode)
2. Extract the KDZ ( The correct KDZ for your device) and there will be DZ file there
3. Use this file with LGUP (LG update tool) in the bin file click on the dots to select the DZ file you extracted above and flash it
Hope it heldped
Stack at 38% when flashing
Hi everyone, I have bought a lg g4 from online. It was android 5.1 and i wanted to upgrade to android 6.0
My device back was written h815, so that i have flashed a h815 firmware. But my device also come to black screen after flash. Than i find this post from google. By following this post i can successfully flashes my device with F500L30b_00_0626.kdz firmware. But there was a lot of problem with that rom. So i wanted to flash a marshmallow rom.
When i was flashing a marshmallow rom it stacked at 37% and showed Error: Error code = 0x2000, Invalid command response. After that again i tried F500L30b_00_0626.kdz firmware, But it also stack at 38%, than i tried many f500l and also h815 firmware. But all of them stacked at 41 or 38%.
Anyone please help me what should i do. Now i am helpless

Then your case is quite easy just download WinHex
and install it then download f500l v11d tot file and then open it up in win hex
Using search in winhex find xVLG and then change f500l to h811 (if you are on h811 firmware) then save edited file and flash it with lgup(may brick your device)or lg flashtool v1.8
Note:for removing L in win hex just point on it and then replace its codes from left side to 00 (which means blank in hexadecimal)dont try to delete it using delete key cause it takes forever

I've using LGUP to flashing H811-10 Rom untill 80% that's bricked (9008) and I fixed by QFIL with LS991 Recovery
Now I can enter to Android OS.
But...
It working ABNORMAL! and Stuck Periodically (Camera wont work, Playstore Force Close, Can't Play All Video Media)
I'll fix by flashing Modem.bin(F500L) by Fastboot mode
After that's it's working fine except All video media still does not working (Camera can take a picture but not recording video. maybe flashing QFIL recovery file not complete)
SD Card not test... i dont have it

These are the files from F500 tot file but you can extract them from your devices firmware kdz or tot
if you have unstable phone or any issue caused by ls991 files extract them using LgFirmwareExtractor and change all of them to .img files with no number then erase and flash them in fastboot
note: DO NOT FLASH A PART OF THIS LIST OR YOU WOULD HAVE TO SHORT THE TESTPOINTS ALWAYS FLASH THESE FILES COMPLETELY
NOTE:after flashing there is a major chance of brick in this case:
just flash the ls991 files using qfil and boot the phone from MiniOS to system and use your phone. No need to flash through fastboot again
WORKING:All except Bugs
Bugs:Sd card and OTG does not work because of messed up mnt partition
Possible workaround:delete gpt files from ls991 files and flash the rest(Not Tested Not gauranteed)
Hit the thanks Button!
Example code for flashing:
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash laf laf.img

Today something went wrong while flashing weekly LOS build and my LG G4 (H815 with v20P firmware) went into very fast bootloop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gm0dh6bLp4
In this state i wasn't able to enter recovery, nor fastboot, nor download mode. Only IMEI screen (Vol Up + Vol Down I believe) was accessible which was no use.
Here are the steps which got me out of troubles:
A) Verify that you have LGUP installed and have proper 8994.dll version for your device.
Different versions of FW use different libraries which results in errors during flashing.
Steps:
1) Install LGUP with this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
2) Get the right DLL. You can try this one:

...or extract it directly from KDZ file with extractor https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575.
You need to extract it from FW version that your phone is already running, not from the one you are about to flash! (when flashing from v20d to v20p you need v20d version, but when reflashing v20p FW you need the v20p DLL)
3) Navigate to LGUP install folder (default "C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP")
4) Overwrite the old DLL located in "model\8994" folder version with new one in
I don't know the exact compatibility, or how many different DLL versions are out there. Hopefully it doesn't brick the device even more when wrong version is used, it just doesn't work.
B) Write h815 image to sdcard as mentioned here:

Hi guys,
i came up with a temporary to unbrick LG G4 H815 , you just need a 32 GB SD card ( i used Sandisk 10 class) , the dump that i will link , and Win32 disk Imager, the SD card must low level formatted.
1- download this dump
http://www.4shared.com/rar/NzSqsBzib...230737_00.html
2- put the SD card in the PC and chose the dump file and write ( run as admin ):

It worked for me with just 8GB one. Be aware that the image written to SD have like 20 partitions so windows might go crazy.
C) Follow these steps:
jam1445 said:
3. One the Write Completes. Eject Card and insert in your LG G4 H811. Press Volume Up Button while connecting the USB Cable.
4. There you go, it will open the download mode.

D) At this moment my G4 finally entered Download mode
I was able to reflash KDZ using the usual procedure (select UPGRADE, find a KDZ file, restart LGUP, select REFURBRISH and START). Initially I got 0x2000 error at approximately 16% (boot displayed as status) that was caused by old version of 8994.dll library.
E) Back to stock
Now you should have stock H815 again so lets flash LOS back as usual
Kudos to OPs: @bullghost , @shakeyabooti , @leptdre , @jam1445 and other posters on G4 section of XDA!
Hope this helps someone!
Good job. If your using this and you're gonna buy a SDCard on purpose, be aware that this fix might not work on your device. Ehehe

I'm using a 16gb microsd, but however I try to image it (exfat, fat32 filesystems, different win32imager versions) also have tried different cables, but it still doesn't show any sign of life. I bricked it exactly the same way as OP did. Does anyone have anything else I could try to fix this? Also does the battery charge when its on 9008 mode?

No could it be caused by low battery? I remember it being like 30% when I bricked it, and does it charge under 9008 mode?
Sorry to hear that. I'm afraid this is beyond my knowledge if it wont even enter the IMEI screen. I suppose you can leave it bootlooping in charger over night and then try in the morning?

It does not bootloop, straight up dead. Just shows 9008 forever on the pc, I left it for like 2 hours like that yesterday. I'll leave it overnight today and if not I'll hack up a direct 5v 1a charger to charge the battery directly. If both don't work i'll probably flash LS991 files in QFIL and use it as a tablet afterwards.. damn i got this phone not even 2 weeks ago perfect condition and all. Will not buy any more damn LG devices.
Oh, I thought your phone was rapidly bootlooping like mine did. Sounds like the person who sold it to you was aware that the phone is on last legs (probably even baked the phone so it runs for few days more) and screwed you over. My next phone wont be LG either.

How did you make out with this? I know the latest version of Octoplus software supports the G710PM model (2.9.1). The version you used didnt have support for this model yet so it should work now. Also the latest changed a few things (from what I read) as my box is still in the mail but I plan to do the same thing as you. I am going to write the EM model KDZ to unlock the bootloader (here are the steps from the latest version of software to flash a new KDZ):
Select firmware file
Press "Write firmware" button
Connect the device (put it into Download Mode) according to Software instructions (prompts)
In the appearing window select (mark) necessary partitions that you want to write, and press "Write" button
Skip or allow formatting Userdata and continue the operation
***from GSMHOSTING FORUM***
Released custom flashing possibility for MTK and Qualcomm CPU-based devices (supported "*.dz", "*.kdz", "*.oct" firmwares with LAF partition). From now on, you can select firmware file, select (mark) partitions that you want to write, and write only these selected partitions! Also, added possibility to skip formatting Userdata before flashing firmware.
Try to get to power down or Hard reboot and hold down. Vol- when insering usb cable to enter download mode.
(spent 20 min trying to time it perfekt before sucsess)

Wait, you can unlock the bootloader by changing the kdz to the European model? I have a Sprint model as well. Interesting, didn't think that was possible.

We shall see soon enough, my octoplus arrives in a day or two. There are only two versions which are supported by LG to unlock. EM is one of them so it stands to reason that we can get it closer aligned to the EM model with the needed fastboot by using octoplus. This isn't 100% confirmed yet so don't hold me to it but this is the roadmap I'm planning on testing. As soon as my box arrives, that is what I'll be testing. Hopefully I can get it all working with steps using the box. This doesn't help non box owners though so my main goal is to use the box as my backup/restore method to test free options for everyone. I cannot play with modded DLLs and LGUP until I have a restore method.
