Would this help an unofficial unlock? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

WELL Its actually not unlocking But it gets you the same (THINGS) you need from an unlocked phone
Any idea if this method will work for our G4 ?

I have h815P and am a little worried to try it on here

Sadly bump is old news...it was patched in 5.1

So its not working for us ?

need test

Delete this fake name topic...

you really should change the thread name!
i have an unlock bootloader, but still i was happy to see some good news, but not only its not unofficial unlock it also dont work.
IMO it can be deleted

Misleading title is misleading...

I've changed the title and moved this to Q&A. The title was very clickbait like, please title threads appropriately, this isn't buzzfeed.

I have had an x10 for 2 years and now I have a Arc S. So, as I have some experience on flashing roms and rooting and etc with my x10 I want to give it a try with my new ARC S.

No need to apologise, your English is fine. :good: You need to check if you can use the official method to unlock, see HERE, if the answer is no you need to use the test point method, which is the method I would recommend even if you're able to use the official method, but the choice is yours.

Ok. You're right but when I asked you if I had to do the test point because it says Bootloader Unlock allow = No you said "correct" but in the Test Pont thread it says that if it says No we cant do it.
Sorry if I'm missing something.

You're not the dev, onlly devs can post THEIR original work in the original development section. Anyway, I'm glad there is a solution for the other variants to now flash recovery.
Please do not post non development related threads in the development section.

excuse me, as I read here, they said that D851 are always the unlocked bootloader devices ??
D851 was always unlocked , but Sprint's, Verizon's, AT&T's variants are locked down. If I'm not mistaken, international variant has locked bootloader as well.

LG G4 H815P Bootloader Unlocked

Hi. Can someone tell me if there's any way we can unlock the LG G4 H815P Bootloader?
I feel like I've wasted my money buying this phone. No Root on Marshamallow, No OTA updates, Bootloader cannot be unlocked.
It's 2016. Is no one out there working on this?
Thanks.
Pretty try much the same feeling I got...
Sent from my useless price of sh1t LG-H815"P" using Tapatalk
I don't think that's possible.
We can only hope for a pre-rooted flashable ROM now.
There doesn't seem to be either much progress or interest for this, which is a shame. I just got this phone, and I did some research before I bought it, but apparently I didn't research enough. I'm going to keep looking, but after a day I'm not holding out much hope. I'd be happy just to root so I can get Adblock, Xposed, and Arise (ViperEQ) on it.
I'm currently trying to see if I can find a way to downgrade to lollipop so I can get root, but I haven't seen anything that makes me comfortable enough to try and flash.
If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears.
wrong section and no. i dont think itll ever be sorry..

Right now he is trying to port DirtySanta patch to solve a modem issue you have after unlock with UsU without flashing prepared files after to avoid the refered error.
The big release of new thread should happen till the end of Feb. Or until mid March, at worst. :highfive:

Can LM-G710ULM be rooted?

Hello guys
I´ve been looking for a way to do it, and I have only found things about the European version and older posts saying it could be done, so I´m not sure if it even possible as for today
Can somebody explain me if the process can be done?
Thanks a lot
I've realized before LG stopped supporting the V30, the damnned LG G6 US997 USA unlocked could be the last G-Series to enjoy unlocked bootloader & root, I don't know why the European variants getting bootloader as soon as the newer flagships are launched! Before buying the almost useless G710ULM, Last year the European G710EUM is costlier than the ULM. Since I was on a budget, I could afford the ULM "sigh"! Even the latest European LG V50 & the LG G8 is bootloader unlocked!

Yes, it can be unlocked and rooted. As far as I know, the instructions have not made their way to XDA, and XDA doesn't allow linking to the Telegram group where they're posted. Just Google for a Telegram group for the LG G7 ThinQ and look for the instructions posted there.
Unlocking isn't without some risk, though, since it involves temporarily overwriting the bootloader with another one, but it reportedly works.
So I dug up the instructions and the associated files this morning, but before I pull the trigger on this: will LineageOS builds work after the bootloader is unlocked? Obviously they're tagged for the EU model in the other thread, but I figured I'd check and see if someone tried this already.

Tried to DM you the link, please let me know if that worked! Otherwise you can install Telegram and just search for LG G7. Should pop up right towards the top.
Any new info on this? The G7 hardware is great so I would love to put lineage or some form of aosp on it. Couldn't find the telegram link though, so I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could send it to me. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I actually have the US unlocked model (lm-g710ulm) which does not support official bootloader unlock support from LG. I have heard a few people saying that there are unofficial methods of unlocking the bootloader and I wanted to give it a shot. Any new info is appreciated
