[ROOT][S/SL] How-to for rooting newest firmware 6.2.B.1.96

So guys I have got root on the newest firmware 6.2.B.1.96!
Since Sony has patched our beloved perf_event exploit (with which we rooted 30+ Xperia devices) I had to find an alternate way... so I did the smart thing, just used the kernel on which the exploit works, root the device and flash back the newest kernel!
THIS WORKS ON BOTH LOCKED & UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS!
BTW if someone needs a full FTF of this new firmware here it is: XperiaS_LT26i_6.2.B.1.96_1257-6919.ftf - 485.30 MB

Download the three files from the download section below
open FlashTool and flash the XperiaS_LT26i_6.2.B.0.211_KernelOnly.ftf - 6.36 MB file, this is JUST the kernel of an older firmware which was rootable
now once flashing is done reboot device and connect to PC in usb debuggin mode
CLOSE FLASHTOOL <<< VVVIMP STEP
extract the file DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip to root directory on c:\
execute runme_ file corresponding to your OS on desktop PC, this will execute a SPECIAL version of my easy rooting toolkit <<< VVVIMP STEP
the above step is crucial! if you use any older version of the toolkit then IT WILL NOT WORK!
after rooting is over the device will restart
you can verify if device is rooted by checking for SuperSU app (it is the newest version)
once thats done now power down device and open FlashTool again
now flash XperiaS_LT26i_6.2.B.1.96_KernelOnly.ftf - 6.33 MB file to get back to the true kernel for the firmware
thats it after flashing is done just disconnect and power on device and enjoy rooted phone!
If you are facing issue of device rebooting when remounting /system partition then checkout the fix posted by @[NUT]

if u have unlocked bootloader u can ALWAYS get root by flashing any kernel with recovery + correct update.zips...
this is mostly for people on LOCKED bootloader who flashed the full FTF for the new 6.2.B.1.96 firmware....

it will but better to flash the stock .96 kernel only provided in my first post or through your regions FTF...

Is there any known fix for windows 8? It is just impossible to start in the mode while holding volume DOWN and connecting USB cable at the same time.

I have lost the your kernel with recovery and the superuser.zip that I used to root the .211 FW
May I ask you again the links for both?
edit: I found the supersu.zip, it was the 1.25, can I use it also for this new FW?
Also, can I use your 6.0.3.2 recovery? I found only this one on my laptop!

i have noticed that people get confused with flashing kernel things equating to unlocked bootloader only so wanted to make it clear that it will work on both locked & unlocked bootloaders

Requirements:
Flashtool 0.9.13 by @Androxyde
XZDualRecovery 2.7.76 BETA or newer.
Current rooted FW version: 10.4.B.0.569, Maybe others too, let me know!.
Special features:
SuperSU integrated in system, FULL ROOT!
XZDualRecovery 2.7.86 BETA (CWM & PhilZ Touch & TWRP) pre-installed;
init.d support (read how to enable)
For both locked and unlocked bootloaders!
In the following guide I suggest you use an external SDCard but that's just good practice, you can use your internal storage or even an USB OTG storage device in TWRP if you like to install, that's no problem!... If you are modding and the likes, best is to have an external sdcard, just for safeties sake.
If you are unable to download torrent files directly, have http://zbigz.com/ do it for you!
How to update to 10.4.1.B.0.101:
Files:
For C6503: Download C6503_10.4.1.B.0.101.flashable.zip (Bittorrent: 823MB) and C6503_10.4.1.B.0.101_Stripped.ftf (17MB)
Save them somewhere you remember;
Put 'C65XX_10.4.1.B.0.101.flashable.zip' on (the external) SDcard1;
Put 'C65XX_10.4.1.B.0.101_Stripped.ftf' inside the Flashtool/firmwares folder;
Create a backup of your phone in TWRP and don't forget to backup the contents of 'SDCard' (the internal storage!);
Flash 'C65XX_10.4.1.B.0.101.flashable.zip' in TWRP;
NOTE: do not reboot but go back to the main menu, then go to reboot->power off;
Flash everything in 'C65XX_10.4.1.B.0.101_Stripped.ftf' using flashtool;
Reboot to system.
The first boot will be slow and after some time at the boot animation you will see Android start optimizing the apps on your phone.

Known XZDualRecovery Issues:
Busybox Updater/Installer: If you have XZDualRecovery installed, un-install any Busybox updating app/tool as most if not all of them will install a version of busybox which does not support the lzma compression applets XZDualRecovery depends on. The version installed together with XZDualRecovery is very stable and I have yet to hear anyone complain about it's stability.
How to report errors:
Please, before shouting out "It doesn't work!!1!" or "I lost root!" or even "My phone reboots when remounting /system RW!!" try the following:
Restore any JB 4.2.2 FTF using any means you are familiar with so you can try again.
Root it using any means you are familiar with.
Install XZDualRecovery;
Update to 10.4.B.0.569;
Then try to update again using TWRP.
If it still fails something from there on: LOGS!!.
NOTE: The important ones can be found in /cache/recovery and in /sdcard1/XZDualRecovery, pack them up and send them to me or attach them to your bug report.

Tips and Tricks
Easy switching between locked and unlocked bootloader states!
NOTE: USE TWRP ONLY for this guide.
NOTE 2: You NEED to have XZDualRecovery 2.7.43 or higher to make this work.
Create a backup, including the Trim Area (TA!)
Unlock your bootloader
Restore backup without TA
Create a new backup of your UNLOCKED TA
Restore the previous TA backup to relock your phone.
Done :good:
Now you can switch between locked and unlocked bootloaders quick and painless: no more system wipes and you can basically do whatever you want
How to enable init.d support:
Open a filemanager app and navigate to the location where the XZDualRecovery folder is located and go in to it. Open XZDR.prop as a text file and set dr.initd.active to true.
NOTE: For this guide ROM it means the init.d script called 99SuperSUDaemon will kick in to action, so it's best to disable (by setting chmod 644) /system/etc/install-recovery.sh for the time being or to clear it's contents.

When you come from any deodexed rom you will have to at least wipe dalvik-cache

will xposed framework still able to run in this fw 101?

I can confirm that Xposed Framwork (Xperia Test) won't work with this fw 101. After Install/Update and reboot, you got bootloop. Must go into TWRP to install Xposed-disabler.

I'm using xposed v2.4.1 with .101 work just fine.

I am not sure... Just only restart the flashtool. Also after flashing the ROM dan Off (not reboot), I just On my C6502, complete the setup, and reconnect to the flashtool in flashmode. That's all friend.

already flash this 101 fw and Xposed Framework also work perfect. But it seem there is still a bug on the power button, just like in 569

I have a rooted (locked BL) 10.3.1.A.67.

Hello S3 neo owners! I've just deodexed the I9300IXWUBNJ1_I9300IOXEBNJ1 4.4.4 Stock firmware of the Galaxy S3 Neo Duos (GT-I9300I) and after did some tests, I bring it to you Hope you use it for good and if you make a rom or something with it, please share!
NOTE: You must be on the Stock 4.4.4 KitKat firmware in your S3 Neo and have Rox's CWM installed to flash this correctly, if you are on a 4.3 ROM or CM, your phone won't boot the OS and you will need to reflash.
NOTE: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this file before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you...muahahahaha

Completely stock apps, all deodexed (/app, /priv-app and /framework).
You win around 300 MB of free space in your smartphone after flashing this, because the zip file deletes all the .odex files and installs the deodexed apps without problems

How to flash this?

Hello.
How did you achieve the size of just 350 MB ? While I deodexed i9301l rom, the single sim variant and have even removed bloatware, my zip size is around 1 GB.
Let me know please. So maybe I can upload that and share that stock rom.

I only tried flashin it through CWM, so I can't give you a specific answer. Try if you want, but make sure you perform a backup.

This is strange, do you have the same ROM than the apks were taken? Go to Settings/Apps and look for the NFC app, then erase its data and restart.

I have Indian 4.4.4 i9300l and i removed NFC apk using aroma file manager.. Coz the FC messages were not even letting me unlock my phone.. So..!

operation performed successfully .. also works with TWRP.

Your a rooted user flashing back stock boot.img wont solve because there are other supersu files in it. I am not sure why you lost Wifi tough. It maybe due to a bad /persist. I can't be sure. I will try to get Superuser done before Sunday.

He lost because th modified boot image is not proper! We need some more changes & he needs to be on the exact same build of that modified boot image build!

XT1641-XT1643_ATHENE Boot.img model's boot.img used.!
lets see who come forward for help with this model no.

Doesn't work. No wifi. I have the 1643 model.

Is it possible to install over nAOSProm 5.1 with new partition table?

Can it be install using recovery, I now have OneOfAKing 6.0.1 with f2fs file system. Or i must go back to the stock ROM and then flash it using your tool.

Tested this rom
Good for daily use
Issues so far
1. No advance reboot option included to get into recovery or soft reboot or bootloader
2. Themes aint showing in themes app (on my side)
3 how to enter recovery during boot bcs i have tried hold +vol and rapid clicking too but cant but recovery is present there

Okay I've try it to flash over f2fs and oneOfAKing Android 6.0.1 but no luck. Going back to full stock now and will try again. @verma.arun833 can you provide us with more info about your installation process ?

I'm using it since 2 days and it's very nice to get back to a sony interface rooted rom after several years of aosp roms
I was on Naosp f2fs 7.0, so here's what i did to install this rom :
- I used Emma to get back to stock rom and partitions
- I extracted recovery.img and boot.img from Naosp 5 b28
- Flashed those using Fastboot
- Followed this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...de-root-unlock-bootloader-partitions-t3257040 to increase data partition to 8 GB (be careful to the drivers on pc as said in the guide)
- Transfered this rom to sdcard
- Flashed it using twrp previously flashed (take care to unmount all except sdcard in recovery before flashing)
And that's all !

Thx @Dalba1108 I manage to finish the installation successfully. Setup all the apps that I used before but the phone go out of space. I'll try the guide that you share to increase the partition because after the installation the free space without any app was 900mb
For half a day used the ROM and for everything is good, but the camera app has some bugs.

Did u tested themes bro in my case they r not working eg spiderman ironman

You have to pay to download this version.
To download you have to create an account on their site and "buy" the free version linked in first post. Then you receive by mail links to download the rom.

thanks for the help what about recovery. It doesnt include any? which one to install

There's a twrp included. But to access it you have to press multiple time power button instead of volume+ while blue led appear.

Anyone used xperia themes in this rom because i cant use them
As i installed them from xperia overlay site and theme was spiderman 2

I dont have spiderman theme but Everything else is working Perfect. Really nice ROM i dont feel any bug. but yes its laggy at times but thats part of it since our phone is way too old..
I just wish we have that finger trial Particle effect in this rom. i tried may mods but none works

Just go to xperia overlay site and select themes there and try any
If it works that. Would be awsm bro ty

Do u have flashtool
If u have it try this
Move ur ROM to SD card
Extract boot.image from the ROM and flash it through flashtool and reboot into recovery and then flash the ROM from sd card and wipe delvick cache and cache it and reboot into system
That will do the job
