M8 owners, does you have problems with screen separating from body? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, i have my htc m8 for about 18 months, i noticed today that the screen is not flushed anymore to the body.
i saw some threads talking about it like this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/general/screen-separation-t2886447
and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/screen-coming-off-bent-t2989437
right now is not like the pictures on these threads, is almost unnoticeable, i noticed because i really looked for the device and noticed that if i push the screen it goes back to original position.
does anyone have this problem too? i think that the problem is the battery that is already increasing the size, or maybe is just the glue of screen that worn off.
i was expecting to wait for the M10 and S7 but i'm afraid this problem will affect the resale value and will probably get rid of this device sooner.

I do not have any problems at all. I have had at the phone for about more than a year now, and I must say it barely has a scratch. I'm using a very good case and a tempered glass screen protector and barely drop the phone.

i took pictures of this problem today. i think is getting worse.

The sides of the display also pop out 1-2 mm out of my phone. It used to make a cracking noise when I pushed it back. It started about 6 months ago. It didn't get any worse, in fact, now the noise is gone and I barely notice it any more, even when looking from the side.

I have the cracking noise only...

I don't know if is just the glue that worn off or is the battery fattening that is pushing the screen. i hope is just the glue.
but don't matter how hard i push the screen it goes back to the same position, i don't know how would i glue it back since it will not stay glued to the body. unless i use glue inside and put the device below some heavy books, and get a few days later.

Cellnet Galaxy Nexus Pack (Australia)

Whilst wandering around today, not really in search for accessories for my phone, but after cutting a iPad screen protector and it looking rather ugly, I happened to come across this pack in a Vodafone retail store.
It was $19.95, and they only recieved it today. It includes 2 screen protectors, 1 clear hard care, and a grey silicon case.

The clear case is good, doesn't add much to the overall phone, whilst leaving all the keys available, the silicon case is a good fit, but makes the power button rather stiff when you are trying to press it. The screen protectors I'm going to apply tomorrow, when I'm not so drained.
Definitely worth the $19.95, considering its the only pack I've been able to find!
Hi can I know where suburb did you purchase this? Do you think this is available in victoria too?
Temptation got the better of me, and I've just applied the screen protector, screwed up the first one without thinking correctly ... :-/ .. but I've applied the other one, just waiting to see how it goes.
It was purchased in Western Australia, won't say which store because I know some of the staff are on this forum, and I'm the first person to buy one from them, don't want them possibly getting swarmed by nexus adopters ;-).
It should be available in Victoria, but you might have to ask for it as they might hold the stock back for their launch, but who knows.
Got it! How is the screen protector that comes with it? is it clear/ultra clear? do you notice any haze or rainbow like pixels on it when installed?
Screen protector is excellent, only thing I think is that it might be about a millimeter small, but nothing too bad.

[Q] Creaking screen when in landscape mode

My Nexus 7 (2013) has been great, but I have an issue when holding in landscape mode. I have creaking when I hold the screen at the upper, right corner area in landscape mode (lower, right in portrait). See image below. This doesn't look like screen lift like the 2012 N7 had, rather it feels like its coming from inside the unit.
Anyone else experience this?

Yes, I've noticed the same thing on my device. Definitely doesn't seem like a screen separation issue. I've been debating talking to customer service.
I have this problem also dead pixel so I am returning it

What causes the noise? When you squeeze that area? Does it occur with pressure on just the front or the back?
Going off of memory at the moment, but the issue is caused for me when I squeeze the front and back together
I'm not even putting much pressure on it, simply griping the screen when I hold it, doesn't take much to creak.
I want to exchange but Amazon has a 4 week wait for shipping...crap.
I got the same issues and ASUS Singapore is not ackonwledging it.
Terrible Asus experience, Lousy QC, Bad Service
I am also having this problem. I am just forced to live with it. The build quality is abysmal.

If I remember right, popping off the back shouldn't void warranty. (Unscrewing the tamper screws does)
Pop it off and use a hair dryer on that area and squeeze. Unless there's a bubble of no adhesive at all behind it causing the creak. It's fairly easy to do, and I used a cheap hair dryer to fix my screen.
EDIT: Actually, I guess you just have to carefully heat up the front of the screen. If that doesn't work I would send it in because of OCD. Unless you're willing to separate and re-glue.

Screen defect?

I just purchased a Tab Pro 8.4 (mondrianwifi).
Love it and it's great. However, I quickly noticed something under the glass that might or might not be normal. It could be part of the manufacturing since it is so perfectly in the middle, past the display, and under the glass.

I am asking here because I ordered online and the device no longer has any retail presence to compare with in person. So, if anyone could tell me if they see or don't see the same, I appreciate it.
Thanks!
Hello,
I can't tell from the pictures if it's the same issue I had, however it probably is and I can see you are using the "clip" style case, I had the same / similar issue with this tablet where the screen would develop bubbles or what looked like bubbles (still not sure exactly what it is).
Basically it's an "easily fixable" defect with the tablet, it's caused when using a certain type cases that clip onto the tablet edges (even the official book cover case causes it!)..... if you want, try to remove it out of the case and leave it overnight face down and see if the "flaw/bubble" goes away or gets better, if it does then you will have to get a case that doesn't use the clip mechanism (I choose the minisuit rubber case for mine since it holds from above),the bubbles have never returned back since and it has been over 1 year.
you can see see my posts here when I had the issue and how I ended up solving it. (and yes mine did start out as a small dot like yours have then slowly spread to what you see in my pics)

Edit: thought I would show a current picture.
and here is my tablet today under the intensity of a florescent light - as you can see it has completely healed from the pics in that thread. (you can also see what type of case I am now using too.)

Camera glass durability and a question?

Hi,
I'm about to get a new S9 Eu version, it's in process by my carrier, but now I decided to look around @samsung US support and saw the gass around camera can break/shatter out of nowhere..
Anyone who reported it said he/she took care of it and it still happened.
Did anyone have this here or is this just a bad batch, from what I saw mostly US models..
Anyone?

I think you're worried about nothing. That thread is a mixture of the back glass is broken, the screen is broken, there's a hole over the 2nd camera lens, etc. Those posts are a tiny percent of the phones sold and I have no doubt that some of those phones were dropped or sat on.
I see, but no one said they sat on, apparently it just happened.
So its not so spread then?
Is this thread, question the only one like that on this forum?
Thanks
I just don't think the glass shattering for no reason is a problem to worry about. I would imagine that it's a tiny fraction of phones that may have gotten damaged during shipment but an even smaller percent that just breaks for no reason.
Ok thanks again, I also asked more around and yeah it looks like user error, they blamed samsung for their clumsiness. In a thought they would warrant it.
I asked one owner of S9 and also linked him that said thread and he said it's not like that, it is durable. Those who had such issue either sat on it and what not.
He also said he didn't use case at first and also bumped the phone in the gym to some weights, accidentally and it's still all ok.
So anyway, admin can close this thread.
I'm relieved now
FWIW, I've got an Otterbox Commuter case on mine and I've dropped it several times, mostly on hard floors and it's held up well. I carry mine in a front pocket and without a screen protector there are no scratches either.

Oleophobic coating on edge of display

I've noticed on my S10+ that along the sides of the display, the oleophobic coating isn't coated along the edges leaving these waves of duller black.
Anyone else?
I remember posts about these on S9 or S8 so it's not exactly new issue on Samsung's, but just wondering how common it is..

On my previous Sony phone, i sent the screen for replacement because the oleophobic coating was completely inhomogeneous from edge to center and i could see darker/lighter bands and spots.
The replacement screen was not perfect but usable (embarassing screen factory production chain...).
As soon as in remove the film i ll give a look.
Mine doesn't look like that, it's all uniform..
Mine has wiped of the parts of the display where I am scrolling...first time ever on a Samsung phone that this happens. Had s8 s7 s6 s4...never happened
Interesting. I never had a phone not losing its coating . There is one point in time, usually when a year old, when the screen looks all scratched and banged up, but sooner or later it all evens out. Kinda used to it.
Ive never had a Samsung loose its coating. Including my S5. Only ever had an issue with a cheap Polaroid tablet and very slightly on my lg gpad 7.
