Looking for Realible & Regularly Updated F400S Rom - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been using Cloudy for the past few months and it works great but unfortunately it's not been updated for a while. Prior to that I was running the stock LG Rom which was partly in Korean, fairly buggy and not updated regularly.
I'm not particularly fussy which Rom I use, but it's for my every day phone so needs to be reliable with as few bugs as possible. Ideally something running on Android v6 and updated regularly but v6 isn't essential.
Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks for your suggestion I'd not considered Cyanogenmod as I checked a bit back and it didn't look like the F400 was supported but it definately is now!
I'll give it a go once I've got everything backed up.
Thanks again

Try posting this in general or Q&A. Your question is like asking which Victoria Secret model has the best body. There are several excellent LP roms that are a WIP. That being said, try a few. We are blessed with several quality Dev's cranking out sweet roms.
LP Models: CYANIDE L, BlissPop, Dirty Unicorn.
4.4.4 Models: Ditto Note 4 DN4, EZKat, LiquidSmooth, SlimRom
Others I'm sure.
I would like to know too, I upgraded to TeamUB, then all in a sudden, no more support.
the n7105 has official cyanogenmod12.1 and official mokee os 51.1
both of which are very stable
now if you don't have a very high speed internet connection I would recommend mokee os because it uses incremental updates which mean you only download a small ota unlike cm that forces you to download the entire build every time
ps I would recommend the release versions of mokee os because it will run faster then nightlies
I use Blisspop with my galaxy s3.
I looked at the device page from blisspop, but there is not a N7105 device listed...
Same by TeamDirt.

Does mookee ROM come rooted, or need to flash SuperSU separately?
What about Gapps?
I couldn't find XDA thread for mookee 5.1.1 it looks there is only an old 5.0.2 thread that looks quite abandoned. Am I missing something, or it's my starch button failing on me?

the thread is just for discussions about the rom and any bugs in it
the fact it is abandoned is a good thing ... and means that there is no one complaining and it's running great
and you could use [May, 25 2015] AROMA-LP-GAPPS-5.1
as for the root all android 5.1 roms are rooted but you have to enable it from the developer options
I haven't used supersu with it yet though the default root settings are working without a glitch
I'm just flashed NamelessROM 5.1.1 experimental build few days back, no issue so far.

All custom ROMs are rooted. You're just needed to install supersu app.
I just wanted to say maybe just try every one that is out, make a backup of each, and you can always choose between any of them.
I agree with @BRANDENDEUCE. I think I've seen him post on every LP thread in the Tmo and N7105 forums
I know I've tried ALL that I found compatible with the T889 (t0ltetmo and t0lte, specifically N7105).
I also want to add, aside from trying all of them out, try them even if they haven't been updated or have been discontinued. For example, I've had nice success in the past with a ROM that was discontinued but I tried it anyway because it was 5.1.1 not 5.0.2.
If you read around, you'll find that some ROMs that are updated often, could see some hiccups along the way. Some people love it while othiers prefer a stable release and not many updates.
I have a T-Mobile T889 and found out that the N7105 roms also work (not N7100 though), and I found some t0lte ROMS that worked that were only in the AT&T Note 2 forums (anything not t0lteatt specific).
Good Question.
My experience has been that My Note 2 (SGH-T889) just doesn't want to run any Lollipop ROMs?
Currently on Team OctOs 5.1.1 and even last night, in airplane mode, with 31% battery, my phone died, and my alarm then failed.
Upon plugging in, battery jumps to 65% in less than a minute. And, Yes, I did a rooted battery calibration.
This is the fifth Lollipop ROM that has proven too unstable for me as a daily driver.
I may go back, again, to Conch Republic 4.4.1 and fore go the bells-and-whistles of 5. . . . .
Thanks for the MoKee, I, too, had never come across it in my research!?

[Q] Recommendation for the most stable S4 Mini ROM

Hello,
My GF's S4 Mini is 2 years old, not a single hard reset, with unrooted stock ROM.
She is happy with performance and with phone in general but battery is bust, it barely holds for 10 hours with light to medium use.
She uses her phone for WhatsApp, Messenger and occasionally taking some photos.
I am not sure though which version does she have. I can find out that later today but meanwhile I would be grateful for your advice.
It doesn't have to be the newest ROM version, it has to be reliable, with good battery and preferably with stock camera app.
Thank you!
There is no perfect rom. Keep the rom she is using. Change the battery , after 2 years is busted as u said
It could also be old problem that battery was draining fast even with 3g/wifi/gps OFF. That`s a motherboard problem that can be fixed by changing motherboard or with a custom kernel that have the fix implemented. Stupid thing is, after u install a custom kernel, u need to root phone and disable Knox apps or they will bother u. Search what version of S4 mini she have, what rom she have and start from there to search. I have for example some kernels with fixes for that problem, but first read on forums.
The above being said and valid...
... I find that this ROM: Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.8-20151026-serranodsdd
works pretty well for me. It is stable enough. You would have to root and stuff but its worth a try.

+1. RR LP 5.5.8 is very stable and battery friendly and also Blisspop 4.0.3 last two versions are good enough. BUT, in these 2 fantastic roms i have found a major bug (at least for me) that during incoming calls most of the times my contacts dont show up their names (only numbers) or sometimes very lately. I asked the devs about the problem but did not get any reply. So m back now to PAC rom KK 4.4.4, i used it for around 4 months continuously before i tried lollipop roms. Stable, good battery(05/01/2015 version) and hell lot of features.
N.B: The above is based on my experience only. It may very from person to person. And also it does not imply that other roms are worse or better, because i have not tried all of them.
What I have observed is temperature and the kernel have big impacts on battery drain. Stock 4.4. drains the battery much slower than 4.2., and the Cyanogenmod kernels also use up less juice than the stock roms.
the same
I have same issue. 2 or more years i9195 with stock 4.4.2 android. Battery drain is about 1%/hour at idle (sleep). When using it raises to 2-5%/hour. I want any other ROM or kernel that drains less battery. Please help
My phone has almost two years. Battery remains excellent. No tricks, such as calibration, etc.
In my experience the best ROM Stock based is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...t/gt-i9192-galaxy-s4-mini-duos-4-4-2-t2832673 .
I never installed another kernel, etc. in its use. I tried several ROMS CM based but always came back to this rom for stability, reliability, battery.
But lately I have been interested in Android M.
And I was already giving up again when I decided to use CM13 (feb / 21) by K2wl without GAPPS (Open GAPPS) or Custom Kernel.
My intention is to test CM13 in its purest possible code.
So far it has been amazing. No call issues, great battery (as in SilviuMik ROM). etc
I'm curious. Will this time be able to use a ROM CM based for more than two weeks without problems with Call and battery? If this happens it will be worth testing other GAPPS.

I do not think so. But this is not a problem. Just try the kernel to 95:

I believe that all you need. I never got to use debloated version of this ROM. I'd rather do it manually.

I used the official CM12.1 nightlies (& kernal) for about a year on my I9195, in the first few months I did get almost weekly random restarts, as you might expect on a nightly, but towards year end almost none. Then I installed the last Snapshot YOG9 (or whatever) and didn't get a single reboot in months.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...i9190-i9195-cyanogenmod-12-1-s4-mini-t3100159
Currently I'm on an unofficial version of same CM12.1 that has latest monthly security updates patched (which will be built until a stable release of CM13 is out) as the official CM12.1 development has stopped due to CM13. I've not had a single crash or reboot on this CM12.1 ROM, so that's about 6mths with no problems all together.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...i9190-i9195-cyanogenmod-12-1-nightly-t3300836
My wife is on CM12.1 (NightOwl) too on her old Note N7000, she has not had a single problem in the 2mths since I installed it. So long story short I'd say almost any version of CM12.1 is now very stable (provided you clear caches etc when installing and don't load dodgy apps )

I have been using cm13 nightlies ever since it came out. Almost updated every new package. Since then i had to revert it twice. For me so far it's stable. Using it with gapps pico. But do nog use any extended cm13 roms like bliss or rr, as they are highly unstable, lagy and full of buggs.
Have a nice day to all. I have an i9192 (GT-I9192ZKAAFR, S4 mini DUOS) with the latest original I9192XXUBNB1 ROM and the CSC is I9192OJVBNB1 (AFR / Kenya / AE). I have to use this phone again and it is horrible. Often becomes hot and unresponsive. Sometimes just simply shutdown itself or reboot. That is why I moved to another phone but that is in service now. Otherwise this is an amazing little device. I decided that it is time to take steps towards to a more stable ROM. Phone has Knox and it is still 0x0. Manufactured in 2013 and bought in 2014 so support has definitely gone. Therefore I am not really keen on Knox status but would be great to keep 0x0.
I am a Hungarian user and I would like to use Hungarian language on the phone. I see some ROM recommendation here. Is that true for Hungarian language as well? What about different region, modem or so? Are these ROMs working on my device? Is it possible to revert my phone to any factory version? I am not familiar with flashing ROM on this phone but read some tutorials and more or less trained.
Hi,
I'm on Exodus (+ Gapps pico) & very happy by the quality of this rom. (I haven't tried many other roms though)

Stable Marshmallow (or higher) rom for D852 suggestions?

My brother has a G3, but with LG's default 6.0.1 it's ridiculously sluggish, and hogs ram. He has the 3gb variant, and before apps are installed, it hogs almost 2gb of it. But my Mi3 which has cm13 on it, uses just 550mb. So my goal is to help find him something that isn't so bogged down with bloat and hopefully close to stock Android.
Unfortunately though, the latest cm snapshot for G3 is Lollipop, with nightly Nouget releases. He wants to stick to Marshmallow though.
So if anyone has experience flashing on this phone, have you found any super stable marshmallow roms?
Thanks

Alright, definitely going to look into them, thanks I've never used CM outside of snapshots though. Can you update nightlys from the phone, or do you have to keep flashing them in recovery? 14.1 sounds appealing, haven't run into any massive bugs or problems with it..?

Yes, you can download the nightlies from the phone. Cm 14.1 doesn't have much bugs, but I'd recommend waiting a few weeks, as these are the first builds being released. So, you won't see the Theme engine yet, for example. But every other feature is working very well. But cm13 is way more stable and close to perfection, so wait using the 13 version and keep checking out the cm14 changelog to see what has changed.

[Q]Stable Custom ROM

Dear All,
I'm looking for stable custom rom (if possible lollipop/marshmallow) for my e988 4g KitKat device, especially that can save battery usage. Do you guys have any refference?
There are so many custom rom but i'm difficult to find the plus and minus side of those rom.
Ive been looking to cm site, but unfortunately they are not available anymore
Thankyou
Look, most AOSP ROMs have same issues: camera crashes, bluetooth connection problems etc. etc. Everything else is pretty much same. People were mostly using SlimLP and Carbon, some used Bliss but I think there is no download link for it. Slim and Carbon use a bit more customizable kernel (dave used my kernel for as long as he built Carbon, and SlimLP has just a bit newer version of it, with GPU issues fixed completely).
My choices were Slim and (later, after Slim stopped updating their Lollipop sources) PAC (built for personal needs, no uploads) so if you want AOSP, go with SlimLP or Carbon. Carbon was working nicely too, and last time I had Bliss installed was somewhere after Lollipop just started, so can't judge how last versions worked.
If any of this is not good enough, try any of these stock roms, if any still available. I can't recommend anything from there simply because I never wanted to use those - if stock was that good, I'd stay on it
P.S. This device never received Marshmallow updates due to insane amount of work someone had to provide. I had few attempts but never moved over some issues with modem. More in the forums...
Thank you for the explanation, i will look more for Carbon in Android Development threads.

Yes, mine I was probably only one who worked on Marshmallow, but sources are now long gone, drive I've kept my repo is dead and I haven't uploaded that anywhere.
I've been using Carbon KK for several months and it is very stable and smooth. I've never used MM so not sure how it compares, but it has all the features I need to keep using this phone every day.

Please!
I would be keen to know this as well.. I don't really need latest Android, I don't use the tablet that much and all the apps I need are still compatible with the Stock Android Version
Having said that, I always like having the latest so I firstly installed the latest Lineage 16.0 with Pie and found the device to be too laggy.. It wasn't unusable but enough to be annoying.
So I tried Resurrection Remix and found the performance to be a lot better but still some small lag. I went back to Stock to compare and it was smooth like butter
I guess the small lag is to be expected installing a PIe ROM? If this is the case, I will stay with stock but still with TWRP and rooted with Magisk.
However, if anyone can advise that maybe another custom or original ROM with an earlier version of Android is still smooth like butter eg Oreo or Nougat then I would happily give them a try.
Cheers

As far as I know Nougat, 14.1 is still the most stable.
Here is a link to 14.1: It was official but is now being periodically updated by JT1510365 in an unofficial release.....

I've been happiest with this one thus far: [ROM][9][Pie][Flo][Deb[UNOFFICIAL] AICP P 14.0
Pretty snappy, excellent battery life, standby lasts days, lots of extras, and SElinux can be set to enforcing without breaking anything serious (imo). I haven't had any crashes either, that's a plus.
Stock marshmallow + elemental x kernel works well for me.
I put validus on my lads nexus, it works really well, but I've recently discovered it does not allow install of unknown apps, so I am looking for something else on Oreo or above which is fast, stable, and has good battery life.
I will try the ones mentioned above and post an update.
