Review
This is a great camera with amazing video quality for both lit and dark scenes. I am really amazed by the quality of the video put out by this camera. Since this camera converts to H.264 in the camera it really makes the network traffic smaller too. This is huge when going over WiFi because you are less likely to see buffering and staggering when the traffic on the network hit high points.
The camera itself is very nice to look at and feels really solid too. You can tell there is some mass to it and it will certainly weather storms outside of my house. The base was designed to be able to route the cord the different options as well. There is mounting hardware included with this camera so you can get it where you need it.
IT dosen`t include any paper guide how to setup but you get a dvd with android application, windows and mac setup application and a detailed guide how to setup . I found hard to figure how to set up but it was very easy as you download app and connect ip camera to router using ether net cable. And it was very easy to setup after i download app.
This is the app on action and this is a screenshot of the app :

The best Video Converter

I need a video converter for my HTC TP2
Then you need to search
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=488
Check out this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787812
I use MP4forHD (look it up on Google) as the HTC TP2 video player uses hardware support for silky playback of MP4 video files.
Once you start it, select the 'HD' profile, press 'Add' to select your video. Once it is in the queue, double-click the entry to set the various encoding and clipping options.
Don't be tempted to select '800x480' as max resolution. The TP2 isn't fast enough for most video material at this resolution although short clips do work. I find '560x336' is an acceptable compromise between video and audio quality. Set the input aspect ratio according to your original video material and the output aspect ratio as 1.667 (device). MP4forHD then does the full-screen cropping automatically for you and presents a preview prior to encoding.
Tried MP4forHD just for comparison sake. Sorry, but my recommendation of Pavtube Ultimate still stands. Using your settings here's a frame grab from a scene in Lord Of the Rings.

Quality is OK, but when you look at it next to the same frame taken from the conversion I did with the Pavtube software, you can see how much of the frame is lost even though I used a smaller resolution for conversion (352X288). And it is noticeably sharper.
Much better quality and no frame loss. It also plays flawlessly on my unoverclocked Tilt 2. Slightly smaller file size and it took only 50 minutes to convert compared to more than 3 hours with MP4forHD. If free is what you want, then by all means go with MP4forHD, but if a quality movie experience is more important, use the link in my thread above and get the Pavtube for $37 and enjoy your movies on your Tp2/Tilt2. Pavtube is much easier and more flexible to use, I might add.
ImToo Video Converter is a good one. They have a Trial available but it's limited to 25% of the Video or 3 Minutes of Video.
I like AVS Video Converter for the Tilt2. Not sure it has an out of the box preset, but if you know what you're doing with video, it will do a nice job. I probably wouldn't recommend it for someone who wants a "one click" solution.
I agree, I use AVS as well. It may need a small setting adjustment to suit your preferences/preferred settings, but it does a good job, as well as batch converstions.
It's still pretty quick to use. I have the 1 year subscription, which is probably almost used up, lol.
Does AVS do Blu-Ray? I've been using PavTube to convert BD disks from Netflix and it even transfers the 5.1 audio tracks intact. Great for putting the movies on my hard drive so I can watch them later without having to hold onto the rental disk for days. And I can convert them to Tilt2 format from the video file if I want to take it on the go. No expiration date, either.
The latest version seems to support blu-ray, thats funny cause' I hadn't noticed, lol.
I don't have a blu-ray drive or even use the discs yet! I feel like a caveman, lol!
Anyway, It seems to be able to let me convert files from and to blu-ray, but I cannot verify if it will allow converting from blu-ray as I do not have the hardware. I'm sure AVS should transfer your audio well if the source has multiple-channel audio, but again I haven't tested that as I usually convert stereo DVDs to HDD (my star trek collection, lol).
Hope this helps,
Well, i always use wannasoft Video Converter to help me handle conversion. It can convert between almost any video files with good quality and reasonable speed. some simple editing functions like trim, crop, watermark, etc are available.
It would be your good choice.
I recommend you Pavtube Video Converter. I am very satisfied with this software. It does everything you want it to do.

A Comprehensive review of the Media Link

Intro
To start off I thought I'd do this review to set a few people's mind to rest by covering all aspects of the Media Link. The Media link was included with my contract by Phones4u.
My setup is HTC One X, Samsung LCD TV, 300Mbps Wireless network (Multiple access points) and the media link of course.
Hardware
The unit has a sleek exterior and mounting bracket allowing you to stick it to the back of your TV, the device simply slips in and out of it. There is an LED on the face of the device as well as the HTC logo and on top of the device is a single button. On the bottom are the HDMI port and micro usb power port.

Software
You may already be familiar with the screen shown below, it seems the media link is always in this state when powered, the manual does not give instruction on powering down the device and the button serves as a PBC button and reset. standby and HDMI-CEC functions would have been a great addition but you can't have everything.
The device then has four main functions, Image, video, music streaming and mirroring the phone. The respective app triggers the streaming mode and stays in this mode, allowing you to continue using your phone as usual (All be it in landscape) until you press close.
Music
Video
HD Films streamed from the device look fantastic, buttery smooth, in sync. Very impressed, it looks like it's coming straight from the PC.
Photo
Mirroring
Video takes around 5 seconds to buffer
Music takes around 2
and Photos around 1
The device also supports DLNA and is visible on the network as a streaming device
Also interestingly when the handset spots the media link on the network not only does it trigger notifications (I found them very annoying and turned them off in the app's settings) but even with the notifications turned off if you choose a photo from the gallery it offers to show it on the TV for you.
The youtube app also does this however minimizing the youtube app will put the media link back into mirror mode.
Final Thoughts
This device is fantastic, nice small form factor, very portable, easy to set up and for showing your captured content, streaming music and films it's phenomenal. Now I received this for free with my contract, honestly if I didn't I wouldn't pay £80 for it. As good as it is I already have a media streamer and a fully fledged server that hosts my media, for me to put films on my internal memory to send to my tv is a bit silly, however it's still great for showing friends and family photos and videos I've shot and for that reason (As well as bragging rights, it's pretty damn cool) I'll be keeping it.
05/05/2012 02:35 GMT
Whilst downloading shadowgun and using the media link Battery monitor widget measured around 1200ma drain and the battery reached 51 degrees celcius. Don't know how accurate that is but the phone is scorching hot, overheat LED was flashing too
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Please thank if I've helped you.
Did you try it with any games? presumably it would use mirror mode.

Yes, it does use mirror mode and it does work. I tried out GTA III with it and the delay between is manageable but of course it's very hard to control with the phones screen so a controller is absolutely necessary. I found it stuttered once or twice but overall not a bad performance. I'll try to get some footage tomorrow when one of my housemates is around to use their phone to capture it.
PC Streaming
Did you manage to stream video from PC to TV with and/or without the phone?
Is it working with other DLNA certified devices, e.g. tablets, phones ...?
What video formats are you able to play?

Using the "Play to" function of windows media player I can stream most audio and picture files. With video streaming I can stream .AVI and .MP4 however MKV files don't seem to work. I do Have K-Lite Codec Pack and the files do play in media player on the PC. Media player won't stream Matroska to my WDTV which definitely supports MKV so perhaps media player is the weak link.

Anything the default gallery app recognises, MP4 and AVI has worked for me. I tried to play an MKV using MX player but even in mirror mode the TV mirrors the phone trying to stream so the TV and phone icon appears on both, no video.

Review of TaoTronics mobile 900dpi cordless scanner w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of TaoTronics mobile 900 dpi cordless handheld scanner. http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics®-Handheld-Handyscan-Selection-Insertion/dp/B00B9A0HNA/
Like most of the people with smartphones, when I'm on a go and need to "save" an image or a text from a magazine or a book - I take a quick snapshot picture. Of course the problem is that to capture a full 8.5"x10" page you need to zoom out or take snapshots of different parts of the page. Often, you can't even get an even focus for the entire page left to right. Trying all those so-called phone camera scanner apps never yielded good results for me. That is why I was really excited to try out a mobile scanner from TaoTronics, and also trying to see how it will integrate with my Note 2.
In it's true mobile fashion, the scanner is very compact being about 10" in length and about 1" x 1" in width/height. With an addition of two AA batteries to power it up, all together it weighted about 7 oz. I know, it's almost weird to think there are gadgets today that use batteries. The advantage of that is as long as you have spares with you - you don't have to worry about how much charge is left. But the most important advantage is that you roll this scanner over a surface you're trying to capture/scan, so additional weight is actually to your benefit in order to keep it balanced when rolling/scanning. Also it comes with a very nice storage bag. The effective scanning area is in 8.5" in width thus it's designed to handle a typical A4 size page, although you are not limited since you can do multiple scans of wider area. The scanning resolution comes in 3 setting of low/mid/high which corresponds to 300/600/900 dpi where you can decide a quality of scan versus the file size. You also get an option to save it as JPG or PDF, great for when you scanning pictures versus text. The beautify of this scanner - you don't need any program to capture jpg or pdf. It has a slot for micro-sd card and everything you scan gets converted and stored automatically on that card, a truly mobile solution!
Scanning process was very easy. Before I started, I had to run calibration scan for white balance (scan a piece of white paper, already included in the package for convenience). Then, all you have to do is to press Scan button, wait for green led to turn on, roll the scanner over the surface, and press Scan button again. After that, image gets saved instantaneously on micro-sd card and you see on LCD screen an incremented counter of saved images. Fast, easy, and very convenient. While running the scan, I got an occasional error led light (red indicator) which suppose to guide you so you don't scan to fasts, etc. But that didn't affect quality of the images - everything turned out to be scanned very nicely with clear details. Once scan is done, you can either take the card out for copying/viewing, or connect the scanner to your laptop through mini-usb port (usb cable is included in the box), or MY FAVORITE option - hook it up to your phone through OTG cable which recognizes the scanner as external usb storage device and view or copy pictures to your phone. The last option was just an icing on the cake which raised the value of this scanner to the next level of mobile portability!!!
Overall, if you find yourself in need to save documents or pictures or receipts or anything else that requires a detailed scanning of documents or magazines or books in width of up to 8.5", and to be able to view and to copy it directly to your smartphone on a go - there is NO better choice than this little portable scanner which you might as well just call "a scanning wand" Also, if you look at any other competitive scanner on the market (I did a search on amazon), you will not be able to find anything with a true cordless portability and 900 dpi resolution in this price range - so it also a really good value!
Here are the pictures.

The camera on the note2 is 8mp. Ive never had an issue "scanning" legal documents using it. Its more than clear enough for my real estate agent and my lawyer..... reprints look identical to original after cropping. No need to paste several images together. Align the cam with the full page and snap the pic. Its sharp enough to read the little numbers on printed circuit boards / resistors once zoomed in.

Question Screen brightness is very dark for Netflix and YouTube

Hi everyone,
I got mi pad 5 in india few says back. And I'm facing below issue whenever I'm watching dark scene on Netflix or YouTube, even though my tablet brightness is max still that scene is very much dark that barely can see faces of characters. I'm not a tech guy but i know I've spent 23k on this for watching movies or tv shows and because of this issue I'm really frustrated.
Can anyone please help to how to resolve? or is this pad fault? Is it a software bug or hardware bug? or xiomi will fix this in upcoming updates?
Please help me here.

Change the color scheme to standard, it helps a little with the contrast, another fix I didn't find, very frustrating as well with the hdr and dolby vision support you see very bad dark scenes

Do you know is this a software bug or hardware? Means is it better to wait for xiomi to fix or to replace tab with other?

I don't think it will be fix, the tablet it's already on the market for almost a year and its not fixed, from what I saw if you have a download movie and you watch it with km player or mx player and choose the colours scheme to standard it's ok'ish but in Netflix app is terrible in dark scenes
you get what you pay for folks, it ain't no Ipad / Samsung Tab quality hence the low price tag
If you use a player which you can control the brightness and the contrast you will have better results, so that means the tablet is capable of better results
I wish HDR - Dolby could be deactivated. But it's impossible, even with root.
Do you have auto brightness turned on or off? Is this HDR content on Netflix?

We must push feedback
Yes the brightness is a little low so I have to watch Netflix in a dark room!
SDR content is fine for me, so definetly HDR/Dolby Vision is the reason
you can try downgrading your netflix plan to Standard which removes HDR/Dolby Vision support
but of course this may not be practical for you
another solution is to use Kodi + Netflix plugin, it has the ability to disable HDR/Dolby Vision even if you are on a premium plan
It's a shame because the screen is actually really good, I don't think its a hardware problem
But I also doubt it will be changed/fixed, maybe if we throw enough report at them
So the fix for this would be to go to special features and then sidebar inside which you have a video toolkit
Enable it for Netflix
And then whilst playing Netflix videos open the sidebar and enable the vision booster option in the sidebar if it shows
this issue has been reported to the official xiaomi forums
feel free to write a reply there that you have the same issue, so it gets more attention from xiaomi
also you can report it on your device from settings -> feedback and provide the Report Id to the feedback team at the forum
