Which Custom Rom should I download? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi, So I am looking for a custom ROM for my Note 2. Long story short the ROM I have is completely broken.
I am looking for android 4.4.4 KitKat, I dont want any malware or junk, and I want no weird comparability issues. I have no idea where to start for finding a ROM(I can install it on my own, And my phone is Unlocked and rooted).
Any help would be great! Thanks.

Ditto Note 4 LTE ... That's what I use on my T-Mobile Note 2.

Resurrection Remix
Try Resurrection Remix ROM. It's the best ROM I've used but it's Lollipop 5.1.1. It works faster and smoother than any other ROM. Following is the link to the ROM's page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...om-resurrectionremix-lp-v5-5-2-t0lte-t3170672

Rom

I usually steer clear of kk and L because I enjoy using my ext sdcard as it's intended to be used. I usually bounce between conch S with the Agni kernel and AOKP with the plasma kernel. Both are 4.3 roms, but good ones.

I have been using the octl rom on my Note 2 for the past few weeks. Everything important works, it hasn't had one lockup or crash, and it has some nice permission controls so I can block apps from accessing various permissions. Been loving it.
Here are the only issues I have discovered with it:
-android pay doesn't work (but that's the fault of Google).
-the included gallery app locks up on me.
Everything else I have tried works fine; netflix/sling, xposed (when added), android wear, etc...

Recommend a ROM with lots of extras (tweaks and bloatware)

Hey guys, i am finally back on XDA developers, it has been 3 years as i upgraded to an Iphone but have returned to try out android again in the hopes it is no longer a piece of crap os like it was a few years ago and so far i am linking!.
I just bought the Galaxy note 2 and want to root it.
More specifically when i had my HTC Touch Pro with windows mobile 6, i downloaded Roms with lots of apps pre loaded such as wifi tethering, games tweaks and feature re-enabling.
Now i have a Note 2, i want a ROM with the most tweaks and software installed on it, i do not care for the UI as i can learn however i liked the windowed UI of one of the roms on here which is more like a desktop computer.
So please could you recommend me a Rom with lots of extras and explain how i would root the phone as i have a very vague idea and would want confirmation.
As far as i know, you download the rom, save it to a SD card, then reboot the phone in recovery mode and this is where i get stuck as to what i would do next.
Also, if in the future i want to return to the stock rom, how would i go about doing this?
I live in the uk and have a unlocked GT-N7100 so none of this sprint, verizon , at&t ,T-mobile crap your guys suffer with in America.
Do search for note 2 toolkit.. Root and install cwm or twrp recovery mods through it..
Press power volume up and menu together to boot to cwm and then install your rom .. U can also use cwm to backup your stock rom...
I recommend omega rom myself along with perseus kernel..
Hope it helps and please read the forum.. It hasTONS of info about the same question...
Cheers

theres lots of great CusROM... for example:
1. you can try ARHD for the most TouchWiz look-aliked
2. Omega cause theres lots of user who supports this ROM
3. Phoneix for the lots of tweaks and mods on the package
4. And many others things...
For me, its Alliance.. may differ for every user... you need to try it on your own.. :good:
For rooting and rom installation I wrecommend to read dr.ketan's excellent thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31801134.
Omega is a touch wizard based rom, so you do not lose the S-pen functionality, and it has lots of customizable functions, mods. I also suggest to install simplistic framework, with further modding capabilities.

Installing SlimBean.

Hello All,
I am new to the SGN2 forum. I earlier had SGR.
Its been a fortnight that I have my SGN2 (n7100) with me now.
After trying so many roms on my SGR and feeling how awesome they are (sad SGR got stolen a month back) , I cannot see my SGN2 lying on the stock rom. I have started to hate the UI already
I need a non-Touchwiz rom that supports spen and makes me love the phone again.
I tried to read the SlimRom build 6 thread, but i dont know what all files are to be flashed. I got confused.
Can someone help me Install the slim rom? Plus does it support S-Pen? (If spen is not supported, any other non touchwiz Rom which supports spen?[/b[)
I am running the Indian DDDLK6 Stock Rom.

Hi,
As far as I know, Slim Bean does not support S-Pen.
Every TouchWiz based ROMs are S-Pen compatible though.
Where are you having trouble installing?

The gapps and other addons for build 6 slim rom. Which ones to download.?
I just want a non touch whiz rom.
@DeepankarS:
Just use the weekly 6.2 for n7100 and take the aio aroma 6.x.
Flash the main rom and then the aio. in the aroma installer u can choose exactly wich gapps / additional apps u want. Really user friendly and a unique feature in all Slimroms.
With SlimBean u can't go wrong IMO.
The features are overwhelming in a good way and the built in Kernel by Mnazim is a Masterpiece.
I tried for the last 5 monts nearly every AOSP rom and ATM SlimBean is for me the best in performance and battery. I can get around 2-3 days standby with up to 7 hours screen on. So in my usage nearly the same as a Touchwiz rom.
Happy flashing

I think you should be certain about what you say next time. Spen is supported by almost every non touchwiz Rom. It works perfectly along with pressure sensitivity of the tip and the hover icon which can be enabled under settings. The only thing that is not supported by non touchwiz roms are the Samsung applications such as snote and any other Samsung proprietary software that works with the Spen.
To the Op:
Flash the ROM first, restart the device then go back to recovery and flash the Aroma Installer. And you're good from there. If you would like to get rid of the slim rom icon on the unlock screen you should find the stock one in their theme section.

Note II Questions

Guys i just recently became a proud owner of a Galaxy note 2 AT&T edition and so far i love the phone. It's been unlocked and rooted with a cleanrom ACE 4.7.0 and i wanted to know have they released a proper app2sd patch for it?How to update cleanrom? And also is cleanrom the best rom for note2 because i've been having some lag issues in some of the softwares and was wondering would the stock rom be better?I know i'm talking like a noob but that's coz i am,I have no idea where to search for this stuff on this expansive forum so please help me
Well if you want to search, google is a good place to start.
AFAIK there isn't a app2sd patch for this device.
To update cr you just need to go to Scott's roms webpages and download the updated version, transfer to your sd card, boot in recovery and flash. Make sure to read the op in the thread for recommended wiping instructions.
As far as the "best" rom, it's all about personal preference. I prefer cr over all others because I want a stock experience with out the bloat and add some goodies. But you'll get a hundred different people saying that xyz rom is the best for abc reasons.
Lag can be caused by a number of things... It can be apps open or processes hanging. Usually a clean install of your rom will clear it up. If it persist than try another TW rom. If you still see it then try an AOSP or AOKP rom. It's all about finding what works best for you.

Is anyone having issues flashing Aroma ROMs on 4.4.2 Rooted?

This is my device at this point:
1. Rooted 4.4.2
2. Stock T-Mobile ROM
3. I can flash SinLess ROM v2.1.2 with no issues after reboot
ANY Aroma ROM I try to flash (for example, DARTHSTALKER_NOTE3_V6), after reboot after installing results in a bootloop at the Samsung screen.
Are NONE of the Aroma ROMs not working on the T-Mobile Note 3?
I would really like to flash the DARTHSTALKER_NOTE3_V6 but can't if I can't get past the Samsung screen on a bootloop.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Darthstalker is a 4.3 base ROM. It won't work on a 4.4 bootloader, which is what you have if you took the OTA or flashed the Odin 4.4 package. It's not Aroma, it's just that most of the Aroma installer ROMs haven't been updated to 4.4 yet. And Samsung made the bootloader incompatible, so once you are on 4.4, you can't boot a 4.3 ROM.
Same with recovery. Make sure you flash 4.4 bootloader versions of TWRP/CWM or it won't boot.
so what IS a 4.4.2 with Aroma and NOT AOSP?

Thank you for the insight, I was seriously under the (wrong) impression that DeathStalker was a 4.4.2 ROM. I really didn't know.
IS there a list of 4.4.2 stock rooted ROMs with Aroma? You wrote "most of the Aroma installers haven't been updated to 4.4 yet." Which have? It's very confusing because honestly, i was looking and didn't see that DeathStalker was a 4.3 ROM. I went back and looked and noticed a bunch of JB stuff in the list of enhancements which gave it away.
Well, if anyone can suggest a good stable 4.4.2 ROM with Aroma and not AOSP, I want to keep the SPEN functionality that is still missing in CM. Although I do LOVE CM. Used it religiously on my S3.
thank you in advance.
I honestly don't know of any that have. Any reason you want an Aroma installer? It's not like you see it after the install is done. Most modded stock ROMs will list the "base" ROM they started from in the OP. Check that, and if it's a 4.4 base, it will likely work fine on your 4.4 bootloader phone. There's going to be a bit of a rough patch for a while as the ROMs get updated and users get updated. You just have to read up on each one to verify before installing. Just do a thread search for "bootloader" or "4.4" and read some of the posts. Chances are, it's been asked and answered in the thread if you look.
I'm just running a rooted stock build without Knox/CIQ, the stock ZIP that teshxx posted in the dev forum. Then just used Titanium Backup to un-install any bloatware I didn't want. Add a few Xposed modules, and it's a quite good ROM.
If you like CM, the SPEN does work. It acts a bit like a mouse. It's the built-in apps that don't work. You can replace the functionality of many of them. But if you really like some of them, that's not a great option. I ran CM/AOSP builds for a while, but decided the stability of a stock ROM was more important to me right now. I'll probably be back on CM after a while. I like the speed boost from the slimmer ROM.
Awesome reply

What a thoughtful and excellent reply. Thank you very much. I'm looking at MyROM Revolution and may download that.
Honestly, I wanted Aroma because it seemed so much more customizable upon installation rather than taking the vision that a dev had for the ROM they created. I may well be wrong and thank you for the update on CM and SPEN, good to know. I just didn't check out the official CM thread as I had heard no SPEN support yet.
I'm running Sinless ROM and while good, it has a certain non-customizable feel to it. Just looking for something lighter, just not as light until everything is stable of CM.
thank you and if anyone has any suggestions for any 4.4.2 ROMs with (or without) Aroma please pass them on.
Is there a list of 4.4.2 ROMs that are compatible?

A few questions:
1. Where is the international forum for the Note 3?
2. Where can I find a link to the X-NOTE ROM? (I searched at the top-level of T-Mobile Note 3 forums and found nothing in results)
**UPDATE: IS THIS THE FORUM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472301
3. Is the international X-NOTE ROM compatible with the T-Mobile device and if so, what is lost/not working in the international version that exists in the T-Mobile version?
thanks in advance.

It's that one. N look at there questions&answers thread has how to flash it basically download wifi nfc blue tooth fix and wootevers kernel. Wipe of course. Flash rom(CSC is default and also choose NO kernel) one done go on and flash wootevers kernel then the wifi fix. Zip should be a go I did it reverse and wifi was bad flashed it again all gravy
---------- Post added at 08:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:39 PM ----------
Oh also the side effect I had. It deleted everything in my internal so make sure you put the kernel and wifi fix on ext SD so you'll hace it available. You'll eventually get your pictures back and music too but not 3rd downloads from the net or apps like wallpapers of screen shots. Be aware

[Q] Does CM11 worth it or should I stick to TW (what about Dual ROMs)

Hi there,
I am using hybrid TW Rom called DN3 v5.5 and so far I am happy with it.
I only used 3 ROMs [Stock, Android Revolution HD, and DN3v5.5] since I’ve bought my note 2 when it first came out
DN3 has some issues with music and other miner bugs and I want to switch to a new and fresh interface and I think CM is the best choice for me
So my question is this:
1. Should I install the latest CM (and once DN3 update their ROM go back to using it again)
2. is Dual boot will do me any good ?? Because I’ve seen a thread saying that you can install dual Roms BUT one of them should be Stock 4.3 and not 4.4+ and the other is AOSP 4.4+
Please I need your advice friends and I would really appreciate your help

It is really a matter of your choice. If you like CM, definitely go for it.
Dual boot is certainly possible. My guess is devil kernel allows two partitions --primary and secondary to install two rom both Sammy and aosp roms. But it is fairly complicated process. Also your device will slow down considerably after some time.
So again choice is yours.
