Hi All, I'm coming from the thread "Buyer's Remorse, is Droid Turbo 2 worth it???". There I unofficially just started documenting my battery life with timely status and activity updates. Here is a summary:
TheNeckerCube said:
I am quite disappointed by the DT2. I'm coming from a Droid RAZR MAXX first edition. The battery life on the DT2 compared to the MAXX is horrible so far and I think it's an issue with Lollipop. I really hope the provide an update soon. The lack of a dark theme is also annoying. I like the design of the phone. And I upgraded because I wanted to keep my UDPlan and not pay the extra $20 a month. But so far the DT2 has failed to meet my basic expectations. I have mine in leather back engraved. So I'm not switching phones any time soon.

Test 1, Day 1:
TheNeckerCube said:
It's 8:25 AM PST - I woke up around 7 AM. I just started using my phone to set things up in the past 10 minutes. Battery is down 98%. All is lost. Just joking. But I have a feeling my battery woes have not been resolved. This is exactly the same thing I noticed when I took the phone out of its box for the first time and charged it and started using it. I noticed the battery drain was faster than anything I've ever seen. ---- I'm coming from a RAZR MAXX first edition which I must say has held up quite well in terms of battery life. I know it's a smaller screen and weaker specs, but still, I'm expecting Turbo 2 to hold up just as well since technology has improved, right? Plus, the T2 is marketed along side the MAXX, but so far, it's behaving like the ogre big brother that lacks coordination (battery life).
Edit 2: It's 8:32 AM - the Battery life estimate on my phone reads 7 hours left at 98%. Only two items listed for consumption. Play Store 1% and Gmail.
Edit 3: 9:22 AM - Set up my phone for about 20 mins, made coffee, walked my dog plus phase 2 of my morning routine, about 30 mins, then had a 3 minute phone call. Battery is at 94% - 16 hours left. I have no doubt it will last the day, but that's not what I'm aiming for, I'm aiming for more. I got nearly 3 days out of my MAXX when I first got it. I also went on a 9 hour Netflix spree over the course of a 2 day weekend, to catch up on Sons of Anarchy, and still made it to Monday without a charge. I highly doubt my DT2 can endure the same tests.

9:56 AM - 94% still, I haven't used the phone since my last post.

It's 1:27 PM PST - I'm down to 91% - I didn't use my phone other than to send 5 short text messages. But I did receive emails and notifications which leads me into my next issue ... it looks like Lollipoops does not use LED notifications at least on Vibrate mode (I leave my phone on Vibrate 90% of the time). So I forgot to enable vibrate for my text messages and there is no LED notification, so I missed my GFs texts.
Google Play Services is on top of the battery usage list at 2% while cell standby is next at 1%. 91% still as I write with 2 days estimated time left on battery. These stats are good, but I haven't gotten to end of day where I spend 2 hours double tapping on Instagram ... ... just joking, I don't check Instagram lol. But later today I will be fully setting up my phone, disabling bloatware and arranging my home screen. I already have my wall paper as the color black. Yep, ever since Droid One. I went from Droid One to RAZR MAXX V1 to this DT2. I am still pissed about the no LED notification, if I am missing something, someone please let me know. Oh, I removed all those "candy" related bloatware apps and disabled that lame DT Ignite. Why VZW? Why did you install an app that puts spam poop on my phone?!
Edit 2: 1:59 PM PST 89% Battery - Rebooted: Once - I was just on my phone figuring out how to get LED notifications. There are none. Cans someone chime in on this? Please. And no Moto Sense. Thanks!

2:59 PM PST - 85% One day 2 hours left - browsing through my phone, disabling more bloatware, trying to look for the option that lets you choose "how many lines of text to display in the notification bar" or something like that, anyone any idea where that is? - Rebooted: Once More. I haven't even reinstalled my like 30 apps that I use. (Still at work, which is at home, but still.)

11:16 PM - 77% 3 days left according to Battery under Settings. 4% Cell Standby, 3% Screen. I have bad reception here, only about 2 bars, sometimes 1 bar to none. Call quality remains the same though thankfully. So between 3 PM to now I've been using my phone quite normally, but I'm about to use it leisurely in T - 2 mins. I'm going to add my other 6 5 Gmail accounts as well as mess around with Moto features like Display and Voice. Then browse Amazon, it's holiday season. Edit: DT2 is getting plus points on my scorecard. Let's see how it holds up overnight and into tomorrow!

6:47 AM PST - 66% Battery Life 2 Days Left - Cell Standby 8%, Screen 5%, WiFi 3%, Idle 2%, OS 2%. So after my last post, I set up all my Gmail accounts which took me down to 70% which is when I set my phone down. I woke up about 20 mins ago and my phone was at 67%. It basically dropped 3% overnight. I don't know if this is normal. Anyone else?
So in about 24 hours (it's 6:59 AM now and I took the phone off charging around 7 AM yesterday), my battery went from 100% to 66%, that's 34%. Pretty good given the specs on the phone and compared to my usage. I know it won't beat my MAXX which has been on for 2 Days 9 HRs is is currently at 50% battery - note, I've also been using the MAXX, just only WiFi. It looks like if I had better reception here, I might get a little bit better battery life out of my DT2. And under my calculations there can easily be a +/- 7% of battery (last night 77% down to 70% under momentary heavy usage, 6 Gmail accounts setup and syncing).

My phone for the most part is connected to the Internets over Wifi and through 5G network if applicable because I gots the FIOS and want to boast a 93.5-95 Mbps upload speed. When I'm out walking my dog, I'm on LTE. I have "Location" turned off. I made it a habit to do this from my older phones, so why not keep it up. I haven't used the Location/GPS for anything yesterday however, perhaps I will use it today.
It's 2:28 PM PST - 63% 2 days left on battery - I haven't used my phone much since my previous post. It however has been receiving a bunch of emails from QuoteStream (stock alerts) ... dang the market was rough this morning. I have my phone on vibrate pretty much at all times, so it was vibrating a lot. I just got a few texts from my GF. But that's about it.

7:32 AM - 31% battery. I woke up around 7. I'm replying on my phone via chrome. Can't get Tapatalk to work. Can someone please help? I'd appreciate it. Thanks! Back to the battery, says I have about 23 hrs left. Last night before bed I did a quick post because I was falling asleep. I had set up Moto Display. I fully understand the replacement for LED notifications now. Though I prefer the latter. I also set up Moto Voice but have not really used it. I wanted to use "Computer" as the catch phrase like how they do in Star Trek (TNG etc) but it was not allowed. So I chose one used by "famous inspector" from my "childhood".
I also downloaded Screen Filter which I had used extensively with my MAXX. This app instantly reduces screen brightness to a preset value. Easy on the eyes at dark mostly. Ooh almost forgot, I used Maps Nav for about 15 mins driving to dinner last night. Cell Standby is still on top of the list for battery consumption.

Yep. 48 hrs, non stop WiFi and LTE, only use Location/GPS when I have to, and about 3.5 hours of screen on time. 5G as in 5 Ghz wireless signal vs 2.4 Ghz. I can definitely combine my results. Would be interesting.
10:00 AM PST - 25% Battery - 17 hrs left - I've been receiving stock updates as usual. Nothing else though. Edit: I also just realized that if I slam my fist on my table where my phone sits, Moto Display appears. I turned off the silly approach your phone sense thing. It was annoying. Normal Moto Display is quite smart. I'm starting to think that the flashing LED on my MAXX which still sits next to me right now is ... annoying.

7:35 AM PST - 98% battery life - 1 day 10 hrs left. This is odd. I woke up around 7 AM. 100% battery of course from slow charging last night. I have Screen Filter app on to quickly dim brightness. Screen on time is almost 6 minutes only. I've taken screenshots of my battery status and screen on time for reference. General emails overnight, but shortly after unplugging my phone, it auto-updated my apps. I've turned auto update off now; I like control over when I get my updates ... I'm still running Firefox 27.0
Walking out the door last night I was at 10% battery. At this point I had Battery Saver turned on. I normally turn Airplane Mode on whenever I'm in low reception/no need phone situations. By 9 PM PST my battery was 5%. This lasted until I got out of the performance at like 12 AM midnight. I took a couple screen caps along the way and when I got home I made my final post. I'll go consolidate my reports now.

8:30 AM PST - 97% - 2 days - Screen on 9 minutes. - I haven't really used my phone except to check the time.
So for the first testing you got 2 days and 17 hours? And over 4 hours (cannot find exact time in your blog) of SoT (screen on time)? Phone was online all the time syncing?
I was hopping for something like you did at the end of the post. Date, time, battery %, SoT, comment about usage (apps you used, top apps under battery consumption...). But blog was also interesting to read. I read that you're taking screenshots, so you can make it better for the second testing
11:31 AM PST - 94% - 3 days left - SoT 4 mins. - I've only gotten texts from my GF and emails. But now I'm replying from my phone via Tapatalk.
Though I have to work too!

My phone is online at all times syncing 6 gmail accounts through WiFi or LTE. But I'm simulating exactly how "I" would use my phone. So at low battery < 15% I usually decide to turn off sync. So far everything seems normal.
Edit: After posting this my battery dropped to 93%.
Edit 2: From desktop now, I didn't really get to review my "blog" until now. So it looks like I made it through 3 full days on one battery charge.

3:21 PM PST - 86% - 2 days left - 45 min. SoT - had a 20 min phone call with my GF, series of texts, definitely more use than usual. I have another gripe with Lollipops, or maybe its the phone? I don't know. But it vibrates when receiving texts in the same conversation I am viewing. On my MAXX, this isn't the case since I am already viewing the conversation, it does not need to alert me anymore. Anyone have any idea if I just have a setting set wrong? Please let me know. Going to compare my current battery life with Test 1 and report back in a bit.
Update: Yup, battery looks about right compared to this time of day in previous test. I still have to calculate the delta for better comparison.
Here are my stats. Couple of phone calls and about 5hrs of SOT.
Idk what the deal is with the Android OS though!

Cool. What's the time frame?
6:38 PM PST - 82% - 2 days left - SoT 53 mins. - just general use, had another phone call about 5 mins, text messaging, emails. But I also took a 1 min. HD video (for the first time) of my dog and cat lying down in front of each other for the first time and not really reacting to each other. I needed proof!
I should check back in around 11 PM to get a better comparison with Test 1, Day 1 around the same time.
Idk... Unplug around 0700am and plugged it at 0030.
That's usually around what I get.
Not really complaining though... My s6 gets me around 3 hrs SOT max. This thing is almost double. Especially on WiFi.
No battery saving at all and adaptive brightness on, with slider at about half way
12:31 AM PST - 79% - 3 days - SoT 57 mins - I totally did not use the phone since last post. It was just by my night stand.

@TheNeckerCube Hey dude, I mentioned in my thread about buyers remorse that I liked your battery usage you're putting out there. But I am not sure its a fair evaluation only because you don't seem to be even a moderate user unless I'm reading your usage wrong. You seem to be a pretty light user.
I remember the first day I got my droid turbo 1. I had really nothing going on so I wasn't making phone calls or surfing the web. In fact I didn't use my phone much at all outside of communicating with my wife. It was over 60 hours before I had to put it one a charger. I feel like the DT2 has about the same battery stats more or less. Keep the testing coming though, it is very interesting.
Hmm I do not know how to do multiple quotes via Tapatalk.
Anyway, 2:04 AM - 11-16-15 - 20 hrs left - SoT 2 hrs 50 mins.
@Digital DJ you're right, I don't use my phone much and this is only s personal battery test though it helps put this DT2 battery life into perspective.
@Zeljko1234 yeah my cell reception here if not the best. And Result: 2 days, 17 hours, 59 minutes.

Hey all,
I recently put Blu Kuban on my phone and I'm loving the look and feel, but I'm having REALLY bad battery life. I couldn't get through the day with only a little use. I download the battery calibration app and tried that. Its also been about 4 days since I flashed the new ROM. Anymore suggestions? I bought an extended battery at 3800 mAh and I'm getting less than a day with the new ROM. Before the update I was getting at least a day and a half with MUCH more usage.
So long story short, BAD battery life. Any suggestions? If I cant get this figured out, I'm going to have to go back to stock.
Thanks in advance.

Hi. I've noticed you posted two separate threads relating to RUJELUS' Blu Kuban ROM. I would suggest you ask in his thread if you haven't already due to the fact that he may offer more assistance.
However, there are many different battery solutions. The problem is, if you were previously running Stock Gingerbread, you must get used to the fact that until Kernel source drops, battery life will not be as good on ICS as it is on GB.
To address your ICS battery problems, I suggest you turn here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668853
Also, if possible, it would be nice to see your battery stats. Take screenshots and post them up here.
I would definitely post in the thread if xda would let me. I tried because I had that thought originally and because I don't have 10 posts yet it wouldn't let me post in the thread. I will post battery pictures tomorrow but its pretty much saying like 36% android OS, 20% display at one hour of use.
Thanks for the help so far guys. I checked out the first link and changed a few things. Hopefully it helps.
Still rocking Gingerbread ;p
How old is your battery?
How old is your phone?
How much do you have running in the background?
Do you keep WiFi on at all times (so that it might be searching for signals constantly)?
Use the apps listed above to try and get an idea of what could be causing the drain.
Hopefully it will improve so you can fully enjoy the ROM.

My phone was purchased in October. My battery is about 2 weeks old. I don't believe i have anything but gmail sync in the background. However, I'm not used to all apps I used staying open after I use them so I've been kinda bad about closing them. Is there something I can change so this goes back to closing most things after I press the back button. I do not keep WiFi on.
My extended battery got about 18 hours and was at 15%. I slept for 11 hours last night with nothing on. I used facebook for 15 minutes, just responding to a post and scrolling through messages and battery dropped at least 10% if not more. Granted, I was trying to download the update but doing that for 10 minutes dropped my battery over 20%. I'm very concerned.

I essentially didn't use my phone for half the day. I can't expect with a battery double the size to get 12 hours of light use?
are you on the latest build? Im on 1.0.4.1 and my battery is pretty solid, Id say give it a few days. are trying different modems?
I experienced the exact same thing on that rom. It is definitely one of my favorite roms but I would get half the life that I would on the others I tried.
Were you having issues with battery at all before you flashed the Blu Kuban?
I'm running Blazer ICS now and getting almost as good of battery life as I had on Gingerbread.

So 3 hours and 46 minutes. Less than 50%.
Android OS CPU total: 20m 36s.
Stay Awake: 1 hr 8m 34s
Screen: 34 minutes 17 seconds (last 10 minutes or so has been trying to get this post up)
Facebook: CPU Total: 10m 25s
Stay Awake: 2m 34s
GPS: 3 seconds (turned off immediately after realizing it did that)
Android System: 7m 10 s. CPU foreground: 8 seconds. Stay Awake: 4m 27s
Cell Standby: Time without signal 4%
I figure thats enough but if not let me know. I just updated to the new version so I guess I'll have to give it another few days, however this was typical of the last version. Please help, I really like Blu Kuban.

1. You're addicted to Facebook lol
2. Your signal seems very low...could be your phone is running up its battery trying to get signal
3. What are your wifi settings? Use one band only and leave sleep mode "always"
4. What is the brightness on your screen? Set it lower and unselect auto adjust
5. Sync can kill your battery, either remove some things from sync (like Facebook) or remove them all and only sync manually

Wow, that is incredible!
You slept 11 hours? I have not gotten that much sleep in years!
In all seriousness, I have recently gone back to Blu Kuban and the battery life will get better after at least two full charge cycles. I am currently at 9 hours and 75% remaining. I am in a low signal area and keep data off and use wifif when available. I do use Juice Defender to automatically turn wifi off when the screen is off, so when I am not using my phone, I can still receive calls and SMS.
My battery life on Blu Kuban is really good... been getting like 25-30 hours for the past couple of days. One thing that you can do to maximize battery life is turn off haptic feedback and also turn off pulse notifications. Pulse keeps your phone from entering Deep Sleep and haptic feedback also uses a lot of unnecessary battery.
I found out what my problem was. My extended battery has gone to ****. I took my extended battery out yesterday and put in my standard battery and it is running better than the extended battery. What is crazy is that I replaced my stock battery because it was running poorly and not getting good life. Therefore my 3600mAh battery is running worse than a BAD 1800mAh battery.
Tips though to improve battery life that I found:
Download CPU Spy
Download GSam Battery Monitor (Previously known as Badass Battery Monitor)
- Use this to see what is using your battery up.
Turn off any data syncing you don't need
Turn down screen brightness to an acceptable level
Make sure you close the facebook app because its a crazy battery drain
Give your battery a few days on a new rom to even out
This is what I can think of right now.
Good Luck all!
Got the Hyperion last week from Amazon and overall I was impressed with its initial performance. It was a huge boost from the oem battery as I didn't have to recharge my phone at all during the day.
My only concern is that I've noticed I haven't been seeing similar numbers as others have mentioned with their Hyperion. I mean, I'm not getting 24+ hrs of use with 8 hrs of on screen time. I'll take a photo next time when its at its lowest charge but I am averaging about 5-6 hrs of on screen time, and thats with basic use, surfing the web, texting, couple phone calls, no games or movies, wifi/gps/sync on, and 30% brightness, non rooted as well.
Does anyone else feel their Hyperion isn't performing as others have claimed?

24+ hours with 8+ hours screen is is down right impossible. The reason people get extended batteries is because they want more than the stocks screen time for 4-5 hours without worrying about their phone dying.
Not really... With the correct kernel and ROM I can push that if not surpass it. Paranoid 2.51 leankernel 1.6 been home all day from the storm... That's 3 hours 12 mins screen on time @ 67% juice left.

For me, not so much. Today for an example, I got a little over 12 hrs until I hit the 5% mark with almost 6 hours of screen on time. Home all day too with wifi on and screen brightness at 30%.
One thing I did notice though is that the "sdcard" used 1 hr and 17 mins of the battery. I've never even seen the sdcard on the activity list before, this is the 2nd time I've seen it since installing the Hyperion battery. Hmm what could it be?
I almost made it.. I'm running Aokp build 4. Not sure what the kernel is.
Plus the batteries have to go through a charging period... I noticed the first day it lasted a long time almost 2 days. (1day22hrs)I forget what the screen on time.

24+ hours with 8+ hours screen is is down right impossible. The reason people get extended batteries is because they want more than the stocks screen time for 4-5 hours without worrying about their phone dying.

No, it is very possible, as I get that all the time on my hyperion.

Have you looked at any wakelocks your getting with better battery stats? That is pretty bad for the 4200 batt. Did you do the charging cycles that were detailed in the user manual?
Hey I was just passing by and reading threads, although I don't have this battery, a very possible reason that your battery life might not be as good is that you're still on stock. Notice everyone else who posted is on a custom rom + kernel. The GS3 stock roms are nice but come very bloated with apps. I read somewhere that on stock when you start up your phone, by default it starts a very impressively high number of processes ~50ish. I could be wrong on that but yeah a bloated stock rom MIGHT be the problem. Just my thought.

No I have not tried that app yet.
And yes I did follow the initial charging instructions as well.
It has to be something with the phone because even with the stock battery I had terrible performance, it'd last me only 3 hrs of on screen time where I've heard most users receive around 5.
He is my cpu time, it seems normal since the phone is spent most of its time in deep sleep.
Good at first/No so good after a couple months?
I havce the Hyperion, and have experienced close to 48 hours of life, albeit with very little use. With moderate use, I've experienced 30 hours. My screen time never surpasses 3 hours per day.
A few weeks ago I installed the Serenity 1.1 ROM. I have not been able to get more than 15 hours with that ROM.
This morning, I put in my stock battery, and it has been in for 9 hours so far, and is currently at 83%. I did a reboot about 4 hours ago, so don't have accurate screen-on stats. But I'm never at 83% this time of day with the Hyperion.
ANyone else experience good, then later, poor performance from this battery?
In the beginning I head awesome battery power. Now the battery is horrible I only get 2 hours screen time at 65 percent. Any ideas? Also undervolted and running 1.8mhz but battery still runs hot.

Hey everyone, I've noticed that the Asus Zenwatch has very quick battery drainage, for me at least. I don't have any apps installed on it, and the watch face I have isn't too intense. Anyways, I was wondering if anybody had some tips for me on how to conserve battery for the watch.
P.S. I have stay awake disabled, brightness all the way down, and some other common battery saving tips.
Give it a day or two. The first day the battery seems to drain quickly then you get decent battery life. I put my watch on at 7:30 am and now at 10 PM it is at 47% battery. I do nothing special in regards to battery saving besides setting the brightness to 1, as indoors all day i find that plenty bright.
I do regular stuff like check several messages and Google Now cards throughout the day., and control music for an hour or two.
I've had the watch for about a week now (got it as a gift for Christmas) and it still seems to drain quite quickly.
Know of any reason why this could be happening?
P.S. I have the watch on from about 6:30 A.M to about 3-4 P.M and it will have about 50-40% battery left.
It doesn't help you much, but I have found mine to have surprisingly good battery. I have had it about a week now and I generally take it offer the charger at 6:30am and put it back on the charger at 11:00pm with ~30% battery still left. I use it pretty often during the day and have the ambient mode on all day. The only real action I have taken with battery life in mind is that I do avoid the "bright" faces.
What doe the Android Wear app on your phone say is using the most battery on the watch? That is probably where I would start.

Has your watch updated to 5.0.1? Maybe that could be the problem. I don't have screen always on, mainly use it for notifications (I get maybe a couple of dozen per day), and mine uses less than 3% battery power per hour. I nearly always have at least 70% left at bedtime.
Yes, my watch is 5.0.1. I don't have the watch always on either, and I only use mine to check the time to be honest. Not really notifications too much.
Here is my Battery Status page. There isn't much that it can tell me, sadly.
Hmm. Which watchface? There clearly seems to be something wrong there.
I use a custom watch face created with Intellicom. The only moving thing on there is the digital numbers changing and battery percentage changing. It's also semi-dark.
I don't see anything online about Intellicom being particularly bad on battery. It definitely seems like you're losing battery about twice as fast as you should, though. I'm afraid I don't have any other ideas at the moment. Here's my battery usage today so far:
Wow, that's crazy! Hopefully something will happen, or I find out if something is causing such a battery drain. Thanks for trying though!

Just curious, any progress or change on your problem?
It has gotten much better. It doesn't go down nearly as fast as it did. I don't know what it was, but yeah.
Hey, my watch has gotten worse with battery. Dramatically worse. I'm losing about 10 to 15 percent per hour even with notifications off. I do use always on but a few weeks ago was getting better life.
Would apps like instaweather drain even if they aren't the active watch face?

Well it depends, do you get notification and such on your watch throughout the day?
I get 3-6 notifications an hour I would guess.

Could you send a screenshot of your watch battery manager?
I think you're referring to this. I recharged to 100 about 6 hours ago and have barely used it since other than to check a few notifications. I run always on with a mostly black screen but have tried other screens to rule out that as the change. Brightness set at 3. But as I said, I was getting better life until a week or two ago.
Thx
Watch died mid-day today
Weird, my watch has been awesome...until today. Usually I can go 6 AM - 6 PM and still be 35-45%.
Today sometime around 2 PM I noticed the watch was dead. It won't even turn back on.
The funny thing is, another guy at work also has one, his did the same thing today!
And he usually gets 18 hrs + of battery life as well.
Anybody else experiencing sudden severe battery drain in the last couple days?
Same here.
From a few days ago, my moto 360 went from lasting all day, to lasting till about 3pm. I have changed nor installed nothing. I look at the watch about 10 times a day, I get notifications on the watch about 10 a day (facebook messages, skype messages etc), and get 1 or 2 calls a day (which makes it vibrate). This has not changed either.
So now the watch is useless, unless I carry a charger around with me.

It's happened to me once or twice, randomly. No idea why. Just happened the other day -- next day was perfectly fine.
Yeah, today after 16 hrs I was still at 50%!

My theory is that battery life tends to drain more when there is an update to Google play services, thus resulting in a mismatch between watch and phone versions of this app

I agree, battery life on my Shamu has been all over the board lately with play Services being the culprit.

I've had my Moto 360 2015 for about a week now and it usually gives me 2 days of battery life, but two days now it seems to be draining overnight, I go to sleep with it around 50% and wake up to have 15%.
It wasn't two nights in a row, so I'm thinking something is randomly running in the background (haven't installed any extra apps).
The only thing that occurred to me was that maybe the heart rate monitor keeps trying to run while the watch is flat on my night stand... does that make any sense?
Thanks

Possible, but not likely. On my first gen it can sit on my dresser and if I bump the dresser in the dark I'll see the heart sensor light up. Do you live by train tracks or something that shakes the place and would wake it up? ?

Past 3 days my watch has been taking a battery nose dive around 6 hours in... Life seems normal up till that point, and if I look at the battery life in the wear app, it shows it taking a dive. When that happens, usually I get less than an hour before it's dead. If I look at the apps which seem to be using battery, Message+ shows up using 30%. Not even sure how to disable that (or if I should). I now have to wait until I get home tonight to recharge and see if I can reset the watch...
How is the batter life for you guys? . I seem to be losing 60% in 6 hours with 30 mins Google navigation and some texting and browsing.

This is what I've been getting for battery life on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 7. I've cut the bloat apps I don't want, almost all of my data connection was on wifi, web browsing, sending and checking emails, no gaming, had to turn it off twice (applying and reapplying a screen protector), used Bluetooth once for about an hour listening to music in the car, made a few calls and received a few calls. I turned battery saver on right around 85% battery life from 100%. The battery saver was custom and I left the screen resolution at 2k just only enabled limit performance and max brightness to 90%. Just over 9 hrs screen on time works for me.
Yeah mine hasn't been great. Think I'm gonna run it until Wednesday and if it's still not good I'm returning it and going back to my s7e in the meantime.
Mine has been doing very well, better than my note 4 did by a good percentage. The other day I tried to use Google maps for navigation but I was apparently in a dead area. Later that night I was checking battery stats and I saw that maps used 11% for a matter of minutes while the next non-system app was like 3%. There might be something wrong with the app on note 7 then maybe.
Mine has been really good. Usually when I leave work I'm at around 40% (on my S6 edge). Today I'm at 79% (on the Note 7).
So far, my best has been down to 14% in almost 16 hours, with about 5 hours of SoT.

Seriously, if you are getting 9 hours of screen on time, you have to have disabled so much of the functionality of the phone that I don't know why you would buy a Note. With every reviewer and average person getting 4.5-5.5 hours SOT, it just seems ridiculous..
I think it's satisfactory.
I find myself actually using it a lot more than the S7E AND the battery is better to boot.
Personally, if I couldn't use the Note 7 any more, I'd go back to using my iphone 6S+ before I'd use the S7E...
Or the Note 5 / 6S+.
From ergonomics, the S7E is just awful. It reminds me of using a Windows 8 PC for the first time! Mainly because of the horrible, horrible touch sensitivity of the screen and edge.
Perhaps the battery life is better because I've never charged wirelessly? I've heard that if you charge with the cord your battery life, particularly idle, is far better. I don't mind plugging in. USB-C connector is long overdue. No more fumbling in the dark trying to plug it in, scratching the bottom around the connector in the process!
The built in battery monitor is bad. I ran antutu benchmark once and it tonight it took up the equivalent of my whole battery. 5 minutes of app time and only 3% in real life. I have done a couple of full battery cycles to just make sure the software learns the top and bottom ends of my battery. Slowly figuring out what is killing battery and what not. If I have extra drain it's because something is glitching. I have been unplugged since 1 am last night. Still at 10% with almost 5 hours of screen on time.

I don't feel I disabled much of the phone, all I did was disable approximately 12 apps that I don't and or won't use, and at around 85% battery left, I turned on a custom mid power saving feature and used the phone a good amount over a 34+ hour span. This whole setup took me less than 15 minutes, so I'm not sure why you seem to have an issue with my choice in phone. It's not like I went in, rooted the thing and froze an incredible amount of apps, slapped in a custom kernel and messed with voltage and loaded some slim lightweight custom ROM. I simply used power saver and disabled some apps. This took no effort at all, simply sharing what I'd been getting, as others didn't seem to get as much out of their battery.
I got a note because I can pull serious hours SOT, multi task like a boss and enjoy multimedia on this gorgeous screen. I've had Notes since the Note 2.

I agree with the disappointing battery life. I had a galaxy 7 active and after a full day of work doing the same thing I had about 75% after my day ended ,with my note 7 I had about mid 60%. Keep in mind I dont use my phone except a little before work and on my breaks.i also turn my Data off when I'm not using my phone and yes all my bloatware is shut off. If we had root I'm sure I would be happy since I get a lot more out of my battery because of my root setup .
