So originally my phone was on firmware 4.0.2.A.0.42 straight out of the box; it was carrier free too so no carrier bloatware. I had the phone rooted (kept the bootloader locked) but my phone developed a physical fault so I had to send it in for repair. Before sending it off I unrooted my phone via SEUS, which upgraded the phone to firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62.
As I understand, that firmware cannot be rooted. So I want to revert back or downgrade back to the Stock Carrier Free UK rom of version .42. How do I go about doing that, whilst keeping my bootloader locked?
Just flash a generic .42 ROM with FlashTool

Where can I find it though?

Cheers man. But I don't know how to flash (to a locked bootloader phone)
Also, once flashed, can I use the zerGrush tool to root again?
If you use Flashtool it will do all the work for you EVEN with the locked bootloader.
yes you can use ZerjRush

Just noticed, there is no LT18i firmware 4.0.2.A.0.42 for the Arc S, just firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 which is what I don't want
1) Hey.. If u see.. on the same page, u'll find a pre rooted .62 firmware.. Flash with that.. u'll not need to root it explicitly..
2)to flash any ftf u'll need the flash tool.. if u dont have it.. here is the link...
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
Download the flashtool for windows and install.
3)after installation check for the firmware folder under the flashtool main folder(where u have installed the flashtool)
4)now copy the downloaded .ftf file and paste it under the firmware folder. now 5)open the flashtool and click on flash..
6)now a popup window will come, select the first option of flash mode and click ok. the .ftf file will be listed automatically
7)dont change any settings and click ok
8) now flashtool will ask for the phone to be connected in flash mode..
9)so switch off ur phone and connect it to PC via USB by keep pressing the Back button on ur phone. Once it is connected, the flash tool will start and complete it work. after the flashing is done remove the phone and switch it on.. Click thanks if this helps u...

Thanks but I found another way to downgrade to firmware .42. I used the Wotan client, and then used Zergrush method to root.
When i Factory Reset my phone (R800a) its still have Signal but my Sim Card is not detected ! When i restart my device sign " Please insert your sim card and restart phone " . And its have no any Carrier ( how do i fix it ? Plz help me
P/s : i try to flash this ROM but nothing happens , it still not detect my sim card
You might be putting in your sim card the wrong way. If that's not the problem, just use flashtool and use an ftf to go back to stock or use recovery and back up if you made one. If you want to install custom roms on an r800a, install a r800i firmware using flashtool first. I have an r800a and I can tell you that you will get bootloops unless you install an r800i firmware.

so. can u give me the stock FW for R800a ???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589399
Try any r800a or r800i firmware here and update with pc companion if it's too outdated, I recommend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692663 The enhanced .58 one is good if your going to install a rom over it as soon as possible (the language and keyboard settings are a bit weird). Good luck.

If you have cwm installed you can download a rom put it on your sd card and install via cwm.
I got into a bootloop recently due to unlocking my bootloader. I was really worried, so I installed CWM using fastboot on my phone. Then the bootloop also stopped, only the sony logo appears for a small time and then the phone goes black out.I can still boot into recovery.
I came to know that flashing using stock ftf will solve my problem, but now on flashing it gives the error that processing loader.sin completed with errors and then the flashing aborts. Please anybody help me!:crying: I have the latest version of flashtool and have downloaded C1905 15.1.A.1.9 global ftf.
You can try using Emma (a Sony restoration tool) to restore the latest firmware.
Alternatively you can boot to recovery, mount sd card(make sure all pc drivers are installed), download a custom rom like cm/aosp or stock rom (not the ftf but zip), load it to the sd card and then install that via recovery.
Will emma work on unlocked bootloader phones(like mine)? Where can I get stock rom in zip format?

There is no zip of stock rom. What he says is download a custom rom like cm11 and flash it then flash the ftf file again.

You in locked or unlocked bootloader ? If you still locked you can try to flash with PC companion. But if you in unlocked bootloader you must know are your .ftf file that have you downloaded before isn't corrupt . I suggest to redownload that file and re flash again with flashtool using flashmode bro. But if you're .ftf file isn't corrupt just keep connection USB must stable for this flash bro, because if isn't Stable that can't make broke this flash from flashtool I guest so. Try it first ya:thumbup:
Im in LB.. i have downloaded new version flashtool.. but ftf file is previous one..
Thx for your help. Will try flashing again tommorow..
