please don't ask for best or better...because xda rules..currently 2 kernel support miui, god's and xcelerate kernel ..try both of them and choose which one suits you..btw they are only compatible on miui v6 and v7.

Thanks to you two but which Version do I have to download and how to flash it?
When I have to flash a custom recovery will I be able to install OTA's?
Even Candy Crush lags...

try setting the phone into perfomance mode and if the phone gets hot it throttles and it slows down.
anyway, you will be needing twrp and if you have it you won't be able to update via ota because it errors (for some) and if it doesn't (like what happened mine) it will update and you will lose your custom recovery and root (if you root it).
xcelerate has build 9a
gods kernel has only 1 build (i think)

For OC try Xcelerate and use Synapse for tweaking

Look for gingertiny kernel, or incredikernel. You can find both here http://www.incredikernel.com/?page_id=10, along with incredicontrol and app for tweaking kernel settings.
thanks for your answer! one last question which of the 2 is more stable gingertiny kernel or incredikernel? Both are installed recovery is true?

Why you want to flash any other custom ROM if you don't need any features, only a good battery?
I really don't understand this.

if you debloated and make knox-free, stock rom will have good battery life, better camera, and samsung framework features (things you lost in custom rom)
if you want to try a custom rom, i recommend you try Mokee (stable) with last Fak Kernel, mokee has an amazing saving power feature and is the more stable rom (in my opinion), with fak kernel with right settings and undervolt (see in fak thread, or pm me) you will get the best battery life, my goals are the same as yours (battery life), and i already try almost every rom here (right now iam trying LiquidSmooth, but i did not like it...will try next the S5 proyect, and wait for official 4.4.4 to test, but until now, mokee is my prefered rom
Dont know if last fak kernel is working with mokee, when a try it some time ago it give me FC, but i think last version works, cause iam using it with liquismooth right now, but even with the stock mokee kernel, it has amazing battery life.

I'am using last version, get some random reboots (i think its because of fak kernel and undervolt...) i miss some launcher options like mokee have (i know i can change launcher...) i found the rom a little confusing, the way the settings are in config options, and there are too much thinks i dont use and dont like like (side app bar, pie control...etc) .
The rom is good, its just my PERSONAL taste, i like it clean, iam a big fan of mokee, and stock rom, just go to a custom rom for 4.4.4 and better battery like i like i say, just waiting for official 4.4.4 - the quality of camera we loss in custom rom its a big point for me to go back when its released
I will stick with stock ROM first with custom kernel..
Do you mean f4ction kernel?
Because i cant fink fak kernel everywhere

Hi guys, first of all let me apologize up front for posting this question without knowing whether it has been answered billion times before. It's my first Samsung phone after having Motorola for a long time and the transition to the new apps and vocabulary is not that straightforward.
I've got an I-9190 running 4.2.2 from a carrier and they still haven't upgraded to 4.4. But when I entered to the website above, there's a 4.4.2 firmware for my country and my device. The upgrade seems rather easy, but I'm not sure whether it will run or not. I would really like to upgrade to 4.4.2 and I'm quite confident I'd be able to do it using Odin, but my question is if that firmware could run on my device. Any tips are welcome.
Thanks!

You shouldn't know the last version for flashing. Every developer makes its different ROMs based on android versions adding some extra features.
Just check and flash the ROMs which are stable in state and your done.
Beta version contains some bugs &
Alpha version is always buggy.
Hope this would be helpful for you.
Happy Flashing

Oh! I thought you were asking about custom ROMs .
You can even flash any of the ROM from that list and update it later, after all they are stock ROMs .

My phone run crDroid 8.1 and phone getting hot after 30 mins of watching YouTube (example), when i flash stock ROM it doesnt getting hot even after one hour watching YouTube. So i thought that this problem is related to the kernel. And if u know: will the functions of crDroid remain after flashing another kernel?

Flashing a custom won't affect any of the "custom" features that the crDroid team has added to the LOS base. Not sure what to tell you on the heat thing though.
Custom kernels have different cpu governors. If yours is set to an aggressive cpu usage your phone will get hot.
Root your phone then install a kernel manager from the playstore and check your cpu governor setting.
I'm using shadow kernel with pixelROM and latest bootloader and my phone is not hot at all.
