Hi All. I was wondering how many others have started getting the 5.0.2 update? (I was lazy and instead of taking screenshots... I just took some quick pics with my phone of the update info to post for anyone interested).
I received the update this evening and tried to find some information about the changes through an internet search. The update looks to be fairly minor and what I found says it should provide bug fixes and an update to Google Play services. Most of the info I've found discusses the update rolling out for the Moto 360, but I also found people who are reporting their LG G Watch R got the update too.
So far, the update is running smooth for me with no problems. I'm hoping it will continue to work well. I'm loving my Sony Smartwatch 3 and I'm glad to see that we got the update so quickly. :good: I just thought I'd check to see who else got the update and see how it's running for them.
Yes, I also got my update this morning, but am not sure what is new or updated...
Got it at Malaysia, about 3pm....
Waiting for the update...
What about this compass problem:

Seems to be solved?
Dumb question time. Does the watch get the update via bluetooth or do you connect it to your PC via usb.
I am in Australia and my watch says it is up to date on 5.0.1 so I guess it is on it's way downunder sooner or later.
I'm just gettinh this update.

I received the update wirelessly without plugging it in to the computer (I'm guessing by bluetooth). The watch just gave a notification to swipe left to install the update. I read on one website where the watch should be charged to at least 80%... but I don't know if it has to be charged that that much to get the update. Im guessing that like other OTA'S, the update is being released in phases, so it's hard to say exactly when each person will get the update.

Wow... I didn't realize there was a problem with the compass since I don't really use it. I see where you also posted on the Sony forum to ask if the update fixes the problem. Hopefully someone will be able to respond quickly. If I get some time, I'll try to test it out.... but it will probably be a while.
Got this tonight, in Australia.
First thing I noticed is tilt to wake is way better... is it just me? I used to have to do ridiculous contortions to make the screen wake previously.

No update showing on my watch here in Adelaide, that is weird.
It must have gotten blown in on the cyclone but typical Adelaide, backwards.
I haven't ether in U.S (florida)
Got the notification around 20 minutes ago here in Oregon, USA. It looks like the update was delivered "OTA" to the watch via BlueTooth in the background, as I did not have to sit there and watch a download progress meter. My first inclination that there was an update was when the watch gave me a notification saying "Update ready to be installed!". Of course I swiped left only to be told I need to charge up first
I've got my watch charging now, will install ASAP. Annoying that there is no official changelog or blog post explaining what is new / fixed, just speculation.

Yeah, I was hoping to find a changelog somewhere too.... but it looks like there isn't one available from what I've seen.
Here's a link to an Android Police article that someone posted in the Android Wear forum with a little more info about the update: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58953763

Not really that strange.. they send the updates out based on hardware batches... it has little to do with geographical locations..
for the record I haven't seen the update yet either, in Perth WA
I've got mine last night , here in italy, after messing up/ stressing my poor smartwatch 3 i reset the watch.. tried to install " new update " via Sony Pc companion.. than reset it again.. in the end the " poor " watch gave up and sent me " downloading update " ...
i didn't notice anything " new " so probably some fixes !
Google has updated the Android Wear APK which makes it POSSIBLE to connect our Moto360 via WiFi.
http://motorola-blog.blogspot.ae/2015/04/moto-360-its-time-for-update.html?m=1
HOWEVER: as of 5/14/15 we are STILL WAITING for Motorola to roll out the FIRMWARE UPDATE to our Moto360 Watch.
So in summary:
This Thread is currently waiting for MOTOROLA to get their act together with the FIRMWARE update.
[Please direct complaints to Motorola not this thread]
Now we need Motorola to send their FIRMWARE UPDATE!
Let's see if we can "Encourge" them to roll the firmware update out!

Its just the app, i dont think the Watch software update has started rolling out yet
Has this been pushed across the board? Was there a watch update, or just the Wear app? I don't think that I have gotten either...

I've noticed an increase in phone battery drain with cloud sync (even when not on wifi), showing up as a new wakelock called CloudNodeSyncWakeLock. Anyone else getting similar drain with the new setting enabled?

Can anyone else confirm that the WiFi features are now fully functional on BOTH the App and the Watch? According to this Motorola blog.. it's going to be rolled out over the next "few" weeks: http://motorola-blog.blogspot.com/2015/04/moto-360-its-time-for-update.html?m=1

Wi-Fi Will be enabled when the Moto 360 gets the firmware update to Android Wear 5.1 which is rolling out over the next "few" weeks. the Android wear app on the phone has already been updated to support Wifi but the watch needs the firmware to enable the Wi-Fi chip that is currently disabled on the Moto 360
Problems after installing latest version of Android Wear
Since the new update my Moto360 doesn't Conntect to my S5 and the following message pop up "Google Play Services stopped" and "process com.google.process.gapps stopped". Not even a factory reset helped! It looks like there are still some bugs :-/
I manually installed the update and it constantly crashed as above. Lots of 'android wear has stopped'. I'll wait for official app push and see if it still occurs whilst awaiting the watch firmware update

Wish I had better luck with my update. Mine keeps getting an error 402 when I try to install the update. I tried to use the Verizon software upgrade assistant software but it keeps saying my phone is updated already.
I am having the same error 402 problem. I have tried clearing the cache, factory reset, updating via the upgrade assistant, etc. No luck so far on anything I have tried.
I have been talking with Verizon support all day but still no luck. I will post back if I find a solution.
Is there a reason firmware files are impossible to find for this model? I'm using mine on at&t and can't upgrade the normal way so I'm guessing my only shot would be to borrow someone's Verizon sim card. Was hoping Smart Switch would trigger the upgrade like it has in the past.

First time poster. Anyone having issues with doze not working on this variant? Getting 10-20% drain nightly. Was having mediaserver keep it awake draining 30%. After finding and uninstalling the app causing that Gsam showing hish usage by the system. Doze have never turned on since downloading update. And I too had the download problems on the OTA. First attempt took 4 hours and got to 99% and failed. Second attempt took about as long but finally worked.
Only issue I've found so far is the default gallery does not show Downloaded images, and yet when I plug the phone into my laptop I can see them in the Download directory. I had to download another gallery called QuickPic, which is a ton better than the factory gallery, and it displays everything as it should.
Other than that, I had no problems with the download or update. I downloaded OTA via WiFi on the phone itself and installation went smoothly. Battery life is significantly better with its default "snooze" mode it goes into when the phone is idle for a period of time.

Oh, and OneDrive doesn't seem to be working. It's not syncing images like it was on KitKat. I tried Refreshing it to no avail. Gonna' try to reinstall it. Google Drive works perfectly fine, though.

Update Marshmallow G928V
I brought s6 edge plus (SM-G928V) Verizon unlocked phone and I am using T mobile connection on phone.
So the problem is : My phone doesn't show any marshmallow update. I think, its because of T mobile sim .Since, i am not using Verizon connection.
I tried to update the phone with samsung smart switch. When i connect the phone with SMart switch, it does show the Marshmallow update but when i click on update it nothing happens.
I searched for Verizon marshmallow FirmWare link for s6 edge plus, but i could not find any ?
Could you please sent me link so that i can update with Odin or is there any other way to update it.
Just some help
Heya folks, I bought a sparkling new Verizon galaxy s6 edge plus at a lucrative price of USD 350. It's unlocked and I'll be using in India I just bought it because of the sale price.
Now do I understand that Verizon version has locked bootloader and no root at all. Will they give bootloader anytime in the future? Also does one need a Verizon Sim card for getting updates? I'll be using in India how will I get updates then? Anyone else who has bought unlocked version pls help me. Cheers folks thanks a ton.

Should I or should I not? I heard it has problems with the LTE and stuff.. Is it true?
I haven't had any issues with neither lte signal nor battery life. cannot say about android pay as it is not available in India yet. You can always do a reset after the update and if still face issues then you can flash an older firmware.
I have it ... And i didnt notice a single issue with 4g/LTE.. i use LTE 70% of tthe time

It does break Android Pay. Says something about having to unroot your device. Mine is not rooted, it's 100% stock. Known issue.
I don't have any problems with 4G and whereever available I use it. On O2 in the UK.
I just noticed battery drain with the 3.2.4 version. In 1h up to 10% - 15% even in standby.

No issues for me with LTE or battery life; I'm in Toronto, Canada. I don't use Android Pay so I cannot comment.
Running OOS 3.2.4 with Ex Kernel, Root and Xposed.
Phone connected to WiFi overnight drain is 0.6% per hour.
i just received my brand new OP3 today and I updated to the latest 3.2.4 and its been working fine for me and again I don`t use android pay.
When you have a look at the file name in the update notification, it seems to be from 6th August 2016.

subjective question and I assume this thread was started because of the other posts you have read. To be honest there are a few of these and honestly as in most things in life its a crap shoot. People complain about things on here that have never happened to me. So in short update or not update the choice is all yours and asking in here will only confuse you more.
By the way guys the Android Pay issue was a Google thing kinda and the update to Android Pay fixed the ability to pay with your phone. That was done some time last week or earlier than that I believe.
I updated to 3.2.4 last night and Android Pay didn't work for me today. See my update below. It does work .
Edit >>> I think the issue may be on my side due to an updated debit card. Will confirm later whether Google Pay now works for me.
Update >> Yep. It was my card.. Android Pay works fine. And, I'm posting this on a solid LTE full-bar connection. Glad I took the plunge.

Well said. Every same model phone differs in behavior with firmware updates. And in every phone forum I have seen a million of the same threads for these same reasons.
Now on to the question:
It is a crapshoot, so the only way to find out is to install. If you don't like it, roll back an update. Oneplus had every firmware they have released on their site. On 3.5 my better isn't as good, but I like the feature set and looks, but had none of the problems others have had on 3.2.4.

Any ideas? I don't have any app-killing apps installed.
Thanks.
I personally have no problems with it, battery and reception is great. Got the phone 4 days ago, updated right out of the box then flashed superSU and Xposed.

Indeed. Atleast with Spotify and Soundcloud.
With Spotify, it'll stop after a song. Once the device is unlocked, the next song will immediately begin playing automatically.
With Soundcloud, it'll just completely stop mid-song.
Like I mentioned, I don't have any battery-saving apps installed. Battery saver mode is disabled. Restricted background data is disabled both globally and in app permissions. Really strange...
Is there a way to disable auto updates permanently? I've tried to disable it in developer options but to no avail, whenever I'm rooted the damn phone will still try to download the newest update and eats through my data. The only way I found was a firewall app to block it, but I'd prefer a command or something to disable it as I sometimes forget to enable the firewall again (works through VPN and some apps don't let me use their apps with VPN so I end up having to turn it off). Any help or advice is appreciated! Thanks
I think if you switched to a custom rom that doesn't use the usual update, such as Pure Nexus, that would probably do it. Personally I have started using FlashFire just to make OTA updates on the stock rooted Pixel easier. The only other option I've ran across is the following. The link keeps my phone awake and doesn't allow deep sleep, so I have no idea if the following actually works or not, since I didn't use it long enough to get to a new update. One poster indicated their firewall was still blocking traffic after making the change, yet I don't know if updating a phone and then making the change would work or not, assuming someone was okay with their phone not going into deep sleep.
