Except for V4A, is there any other good tricks to have a better and louder sound in headphones? I'm going to test this phone without root until I know I'll keep it but without having it I just know that I need better sound to get satisfied.
Thanks.

I haven't found anything. I just use the eq in poweramp, but I'll be rooting eventually. Nothing beats viper.

Hey.
Im a very satisfied One X user, and its really a great device, but I've found a bug/problem that is a pain in the ass.
When my phone is connected to my cars stereo (Aux port) and im listening to music from One X music player or youtube, the volume decreases when the bass kick gets loud, why is it doing this?
I have used my Desire and Sensation on the same "setup", and they did'nt make any problems.
Help?
Could be something with sound enhancement settings you use.

Im using Beats, because it gives me the best sound quality I think.
if you use "bass boost" on anything you will lose the higher end sounds and also volume, i would try using a different profile.

Beats is the problem, turn it off.
Beats uses very high compression, to produce a loud sound, this is your problem, get your player out of this dreadful setting, re-adjust your hearing and then enjoy your music!
Sounds like compression, can't say I've heard it that bad on my one x even with beats on though it will notice more on certain types of music, especially some modern music or remastered albums.
Maybe it's a setting in your stereo or choice of player, are you using an FM transmitter plugged into the Aux or any type of input box or is it a straight jack to jack?
Im using a jack cable directly from my One X to my car stereo.
And the type of music im primarily listening to is Hardcore gabber, the hardest type of electronic music.

Beats compresses the hell out of absolutely everything. All it does is EQ the sound a bit, compress everything and add some stereo widening. You're MUCH better disabling it and using PowerAMPs built-in EQ or something, It'll give a much better sound.
Probably best to turn off beats and use a flat eq on the phone and use the eq on your car stereo to get the sound you want.
Or try DSPManager for your phone
head over to my post to install DPSManager allows you more control over the sound then beats

I'm running the latest ICS app and I went to hook up Spotify to my stereo using the headphone jack this weekend and it sounds very flat. If I run Spotify from my Galaxy S, or my computer using the same input on my stereo it sounds great.
Has anyone else noticed this? I didn't really find any settings in the tablet itself that would improve this.
Check to make sure Equalizer in Settings is enabled and play around with different sound schemes.

Anyone tried volume+ or DSP manager? The volume is much lower than my SGS II or Galnex over headphones. The EQ seems to just make all the music overly bassy and muffled.
**Edit: Just tested the full version of volume+.. it works...sorta. it gets louder BUT once you se it louder it will not get quieter again by reducing the setting. It sounded OK but the louder it got the more tinny and crackly the sound got. I had to disable it once I got to +20 as it just sounded bad in the opposite direction. The EQ features also didn't seem to have any impact. I didn't want to test DSP manager as I'm at work and goofed off for an hour doing this test. I went back to my Gal Nex as my media player over headphones :-/
Go into settings and set up Dolby sound

Hi all, im wondering if different roms have any real correlation to call quality. Will rom quality affect call quality? Thanks..
Anyone?
Are you referring to quality of connection or the sound at ear piece?
I think you may be referring to the volume and sound mods over-driving or distorting voices and sounds you hear in call and loudspeaker?
I use V4A and Dolby Atmos with freeza kernel so I'm using the gain of V4A to bring the levels down and use acoustic equalization mode for the ear piece. For those that use synapse with custom kernels, there's volume levels there as well.
I do believe I saw various build.prop edits that can possibly improve audio for calls in tx_dbs_tx and freeza ROMs but I haven't compared them closely or comparatively with others, just glancing.

Thanks, yeah I'm referring to in call voice quality. When I'm talking to my wife on her Note5 or her office land line her voice is a little muffled and garbled, as in sometimes her words run together. My dispatcher is the same way on his iphone5. I use a high quality bluetooth headset. I just cant remeber if it did this before my current rom.
I think that would be either the connection itself or your Bluetooth. I've had 2 Bluetooth sets and not impressed with Note 4 signal strength; music cuts out or drops momentarily but still sucks battery. But you could try another ROM or stock.
Are you using OJ6 modem? I've been updating mine and maybe there are slight improvements but no worse IMO.

No I havent updated to oj6, I'm running @sac23s Note 5 port which was why I was wondering about the correlation between the rom and call quality. Maybe it was an unseen glitch..I was wondering if oj6 would be a solid build. As far as bluetooth,i stream sirius radio through my Frieghtliner head unit with no issues.
The stock rom offers personalized call sound, so there is clearly the ability to EQ the phone audio. Other ROMS may use different EQ curves.
Also, not all ROMs may support HD calling. If you've gotten an HD call you would know it, it's like listening to FM radio.
Honestly I'm only running the OJ6 modem that freeza put together for Odin flash. Once flashed, expect phone to do one reboot without warning but seems fine.
I don't use the phone for calls much, mostly Wi-Fi calling which is pretty good and reliable.
I don't know about the ports but the custom stock ROMs basically leave phone and Bluetooth intact but add sound and volume mods. I would think the quality would only be impacted by gain set too high. EQ with V4A for supported headsets is excellent. The sound alive is good for optimizations like user's balance and hearing curve but IMO, V4A with standard volume balance on a supported Viper-DDC set is dope to my ears. Just sounds way better. I'm using the Panasonic RP-HJE120 wired headset for music; retails less than $6.

Stock 1+5t and a 2016 Subaru WRX.
Whenever I play music over bluetooth in the car, it sounds really distorted. Tried re-pairing and rebooting the phone. Tried changing the codec.
Sound over my bluetooth headphones works fine though.
Anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix it?
Same problem.
Have you tried turning the volume down on the phone? Maybe set it to like 3/4 instead of full

I had a lot of Bluetooth problems with the phone and they all went away wen I flashed omnirom .
It sucks that I lost the face unlock but to me music while in the car was a must.
Worst crackling sound while listening to audio through my car
Anybody knows how to make the loudness of each speaker equal? I'm sure this can be done bu editing one of those lines somewhere. ?
Have you tried to disable dolby atmos and listen to them again?
It can't be disabled if listening though the speakers. Only when you have headset connected.

Yeah sorry i just found out about that as well, but they should be equally loud since they have the same size, thus i assume they may sound different because Dolby Atmos Processing Effects.
I dont really notice any difference in output on my mate 20x, maybe i will test more sound from music and game.
If you set it on mono via accessibility menu, it will be louder and equal, but you'll lose stereo effect.
