Considering to get the Note 10.1 2014 or the 12.2 Note Pro. Is it true that the 12.2 Note Pro will be available for purchase in March? Somewhere I read that it will be the first week of March. During this waiting period, I am considering to get the iPad Mini Retina Display or iPad Air or Note 10.1 2014 and when the 12.2 Note Pro comes out, do a trade-in immediately when the 12.2 Note Pro is out. Do you expect that all the problems (e.g. lag, when the power is low, cannot use the device even it is plugged in to the electric socket because charging is slow, etc.) with the current 10.1 2014 will be fixed in 12.2 Note Pro? I read that recharging on the 10.1 2014 is slow but Samsung has not implemented faster charging via USB 3.0.
Latest rumor is for a Feb 14 release of the Pro series. Rumor is based on an internal Samsung memo restricting employee vacations that weekend.

What do you want?
The 10.1 and 12.2 are very different in size, if you need a bigger tablet your better off just waiting.

If possible, I want both the 12.2 and 8" versions.

The Tab|Pro 8.4 and 10.1 are the same price as the iPad Mini Retina and iPad Air respectively. The Note|Pro 12 prices are set at a new high for Android tablets. These aren't going to be jumping off the shelves; especially to the point of needing more staff to handle the throngs of anxious customers. If you break it down and de-emotionalize it the Tab/Note|Pro's they're just another set of high-end Android tablets with top tier h/w specs, a new user interface, and a bunch of included s/w that's all provided by third parties that are already available today for any Android tablet. That might be really exciting for us (N10.1-14 owners) and enthusiasts but does anyone here think Samsung's 2014 premium tablets are going to turn the market on end and have Apple quaking in their boots? I think they'll do well (+/-10-15M sold this year including the N10.1-14) but those aren't big numbers in the greater scheme of things when there will be +300M mobile devices sold this year by Samsung.
and yeah
at this point I expect the high-end to be updated each year. This year got the screen on the 10.1 from junk to quality resolution. Samsung should have a process-shrink on their chips in the next year, so likely higher-performance at lower power consumption chips will be available a year from now. I'll probably skip the next generation (unless it blends and makes ice cream) but my wife's 1st gen nexus 7 will be ready to be replaced in the next generation of 7".
On the size side, after a month with a 10", I would not want larger in a tablet. I can just barely palm the 10" in portrait mode. I love the larger screen compared to a 7", but the 7" fits in a jacket pocket and the 10" will not.
Anybody knows why Samsung does not make the Note Pro 8.4 available at the same time? Do they want us to buy the 12.2 first and when we feel that it is too heavy, they release the Note Pro 8.4?
Although I need a laptop to run engineer and CAD applications, most of the time I could do the web browsing and document typing/reading on a tablet I suppose. The Note Pro 8.4 is good to use when I am waiting at the bus stop or on the bus. The 12.2 is good when I use it at the restaurant while waiting for the foods.

I would prefer the Samsung eventually as I can make phone calls using the Pro 10.1 and 12.2. I can also access flash flash websites, have additional memory and most importantly S-pen.
Can anybody confirm whether or not the Pro 12.2 has native phone calling and receiving capability? I plan to get a headphone with a mic. Thanks.

Almost all Samsung's tablets come in 3G and/or 4G versions which have a Dialer and MMS app. Exceptions being the U.S. and Turkey. I have a 3G N10.1-14 imported from Latin America.
Does that mean the international 4G LTE version of the Note PRO 12.2 will have native phone capability?

The Note|Pro 12 Wi-Fi is up for pre-order on the Samsung UK site. It's also got pictures of the tablet from all sides. Earlier, there was confusion about the placement of the USB 3.0 port with some pics showing center bottom and some showing center right. The official pics have it center right.

Pre-order the Note Pro 12.2 today and get a free Gamepad
£649.00
Scheduled to ship on Feb 4. 2014 in black or white
It seems that the one available for pre-order is not an international LTE version. Am I right?

So the 8.4 cellular model is out now?
I have pre-ordered the NotePro 12.2 LTE some weeks ago for 899 Euro. Big tab, big price. Even the iPad Air is cheaper.... (869€)
I am so excited !!
But - disappointment wouldn´t be a surprise.
Officially the release here in Germany is 8th calendar week, which has started today ! Cyberport assumes delivery on 21st February.. Just in 3 days.
Will give you my personal impressions here when it´s here.
Device arrived today here.
My unit´s display is yellowish at top, mainly top left and right corner.
Inacceptable for me personally, that´s why I´ll make a return and get another one,
Anything else:
UI ist ugly and stuttering. Pen is working fine, overall impression is really nice.
Will install another Launcher on the next unit.
I am trying to make a purchase decision. I am a Mac user. The MacBook Pro 15" is my work computer. I use it for research, scientific writing and pdf reading. It is 2kg. I have been looking for a lighter device (preferably below 1kg) that I could use for pdf annotation and reading while waiting at the bus stop, on the bus and in restaurants. A Note Pro 8.4" would be the most ideal device but Samsung decided to release only a S-pen less Tab Pro 8.4" I considered to get the 12.2 Pro but worry that it is a bit heavy. Also, at that price, I could get a Surface Pro 2 or a pen-based Windows 8 tablet. What suggestion do you have? Any news on when a Note Pro 8.4" will be out? Thanks.
No idea yet mon. We all rely on google for info really. If the 12.2 is too big get the Note 10.1 2014 edition. Same specs but very light and mobile

Nothing's changed since you asked the same questions in this earlier thread you started. And since the same people who responded the first time are still here you'll get the same answers. That is if they take the time to respond again.

there is the older Note 8.0
or maybe you would consider Tegra Note, so far Ive been hearing good things about it
Well if it means anything to you I've dumped a Lenovo Tablet 2 for the Note 10.1 2014.
I have a laptop (and a desktop) and wanted something smaller and lighter. The Lenovo is great if you really need the desktop apps. But the pen and apps for it seem better on the Note. And at the time I got the Note I could have gotten the Surface Pro (version 1) for about the same price, even with the touch cover. I'm happier with the note than I was with Lenovo and I really don't think the extra power of the Surface Pro would have made any difference, to me at least.
I heard that the Note Pro 12.2 can charge faster. Is this true? This could be an determining factor. Don't know why the Note Pro 12.2 LTE is not available yet.
So Im interested in a tablet...
Had ipad mini when they came out. I liked it a lot. Found no use for it since I got a note 3. I didnt like the cross platform so I dumped the ipad mini.
Now im in the market for a tablet again.
Im debating...on the 10.1 I think (since I have the note 3)
Do I get a refurb or a used 2014 version???? OR do I spend the $ and get the pro version?
I think the only differences are:
USB 3.
Flash on camera
faster processor
(Unless I stand corrected)

I think I would wait to see what the KitKat update brings to the Note 2014 first and how important the S-pen is to you.
The Tab10.1 Pro does not have USB 3.0 only the 12.2 Note Pro has it.
The s pen comes with both units doesnt it???
The pro and 2014 edition also have the same processor and speed and the 2014 10.1 does have a flash with the camera.

Hmmm
I guess I missed that...
I was looking at the 10.1 2014 version.... and trying to compare that to the pro version 10"...
the pro 12" comes only 32 and 64 is about $750
I guess comparing the 10.1 2014 to the PRO 10.1 it seems like the older version is a better deal...
the 12" pro is WAY too expensive for me...
I was just asking I have a situation where I can get an open boxed 2014 10.1 for 400 plus tax...I was seeing if that was worth doing...or get the newest one...Im always skeptical about getting refurb and open box stuff...

The Note 10.1 and the Tab Pro 10.1 are the same price right now at Samsung.com.
As far as the open box unit goes.... keep this in mind, Samsung only covers warranty on devices purchased from authorized dealers. So if it is not an authorized dealer you will need to purchase a warranty for about $85.00. I always buy a 2 year accident policy with my tablets so that warranty exception is not a problem for me.

Im not worried about a warranty.
Anyways getting back from bestbuy
the newer 10" device has microsoft office type apps on it. No S pen only on the 12". comes with kitkat faster processor.
The samsung rep said those office apps arent going to work for the older 2014 version of tablet.
outside of that...I didnt see much of a difference...
the open box is at a local bestbuy for me.
So is it worth to spend 400 on the older 2014 model (the newest 2014) 32gb and pay 400 plus tax or get the newest with kitkat for 550?
seems like a lot of $ just for that office suite no spen and higher resolution...

Samsung reps don't know much. I'm running Hancom office (what you call MS office type) on my 10.1 2014 right now. There is a post on this board how to get it working. And it's likely it will be available at some point from Samsung apps.
S Pen is what makes big difference for many users. I use it every day, for me Tab Pro is not even an option.

Also the resolution is exactly the same. Basically everything in the Tab Pro and the Note 10.1 2014 edition are exactly the same other than the S Pen and Software version. The Note 10.1 2014 edition should be getting an update to kit kat soon so basically the only real difference is the s pen which is pretty amazing if you're going to take notes. As the other guy said, the office suite is pretty easy to import to the note.

Does anyone know if Samsung is looking to update the note 8? I know the tab pros just came out but I haven't seen any mention of a note refresh. The tab pro 8.4 looks nice but I just got the note 3 and I love the s-pen so if I was getting a tab, I would want that functionality and the 10.1 is just too big for me.
I don't know.. it seems to me that Samsung has pushed the Tab 8.0 to the point of overshadowing the Note 8.0 in the market. Plus that the Note 8.0 was overly priced over the two.
Because 9.0 is what peeps seem to be happy with for mid sized tablets. Samsung may just drop the Note 8.0 and live with 10.1 design and carry over 8.0 to just Tabs.
Oh well, between the 8 & 10.1/14, the 8 is my most used.

Hey guys, I don't know what to choose "Samsung Tab S 10.5 - 16gb" Or " Samsung Tab Pro 12.2 - 64gb" they're the same price in my country. Both are 4g. I don't know why the tab pro 12.2 got this discount. I'm confused what to choose, the extra 48 giga and more screen estate over the super amoled screen (i don't care about the fingerprint). What do you guys think, any recommendations? Thanks.
The Pro 12.2
Yes go for the pro 12.2 also make it as your daily driver
I'm on the same boat. Tab S 10 vs Note Pro 12.2
The price difference is pretty small here, so it doesn't matter much.
I don't care for S-pen. I had a Note 2 and I guess I used the S-pen 3 times during the 2 years I owned it.
Tab S 10 has better Super AMOLED screen, but Note Pro 12.2 has BIGGER screen.
Tab s is better in every way. The 12.2 is a heavy brick
Another vote for the tab s. I had both and wouldn't trade this beautiful screen for nothing. It's all up to preference though
Depends on if you want ROMs or not, the Tab S barely has any ROMs for it.
