baseband error [CHINA] - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

That's my first post on xda, I'm sorry for my English.
The problem is that i changed the GSM band to USA BAND in *#*#4636#*#*, then it cannot match chinese GSM band. Before I did this change, GSM has worked well and phone or SMS could work. Someone said that the same problem has been reported on Moto X, but esay to solve: erase modemst in fastboot. Or the same problem on Sony Xperia series, it needs flash radio.img.
NOW I HAVE TRIED THEM ALL, but still cannot work.
unlock and reset to factory data
double wipe in recovery
fastboot erase modemst1 ------failed, failure information is "REMOTE: not support to erase this partition"
flash factory image, both MDB08I and MDA89F
flash radio file
so...I think that i need the baseband file to flash, but such a new phone how can i find it?
OR maybe caused by same reason that TWRP cannot work before FORMAT but not wipe to unlock the secure partition?
------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE: QUESTION SOLVED
Thanks a lot to developers. bidomo gave a effective method on #10, and #31 may be helpful too.
At last, i tried to erase modemst1 and finally solved this problem, but it's so hard, it must through ADB to open the Linux file system immediately, find the modemst1 folder's location and delete it.

I did the same thing with my 5x a few days ago. I am so fed up looking for solutions that apparently do not exist. I have factory reset the phone. Flashed a few roms, flashed 3 different stock firmware versions and investigated a few toolkits to see if there are any interesting options that might help me out. Nothing.
Im in Croatia though. I bought the phone from Amazon.de and its a Dutch model. Everything was working great before I had a brain fart and changed the setting.
Im getting quite despondent about this.
Would love some input for me and the guy above.

So what exactly is the problem you are having with your phone?
Mark.

Firstly, thank you for the prompt reply to this issue.
As the first poster did, I changed my radio band to USA and have no applicable settings on my phone which will allow me to change back to my European band. So, as a result I am unable to use my phone. It reads, no service. To be exhaustive, I have obviously turned phone on and off, aeroplane mode, changed to a different sim card, factory reset, flashed radio.img files on top of stock rom, flashed all the firmwares available for this device over fastboot, flashed pure nexus rom to see if it might have an automatic or global mode for providers like i recall CM roms having a few years ago. All to no avail. So now I am standing in front of my laptop with my reflashed stock 5x, downloading my apps over a spotty 3g broadband connection, hoping that someone such as yourself will have a file, zip, or answer for me.

First thing to try is an app called Nexus 5 field test mode. Im not sure if it will let you do anything for the 5X but its worth a shot. You need to be rooted to use this app so you may want to do that first.
Mark.

Thanks for the reply. I will get to it later on today when I get some time. However obsessed Im being over this issue, I cant ignore my 2 year old like I did yesterday. I just wished to ask what would be the second, third thing I might do if this app does not work or help. Just so I can crack on with something else asap.
Again, I appreciate the help.
Marko

'This app is only for nexus 5'. The play store showed incompatibility but I went and downloaded an .apk anyway. Nothing. What next?
Thank you again for any interest in helping me rescue my phone. Like I said before, I can't just "take it back to the store" or anything like that.
Marko

Having read and read and read some more, it seems that the course of action is 'simply' to flash a new or rather original QCN file using QPST software. However....I need a European Nexus 5x QCN file and...well, knowledge on how to use the tool.
Marko

maybe somebody whith knowledge can find out the solution from the source code https://android.googlesource.com/pl....0_r26/src/com/android/settings/BandMode.java

Before both of you start editing and/or wiping your efs to cause more issues
I made a custom rom for nexus 5x which instead of querying the baseband for available band modes just displays all six band modes. I could not test it on a nexus 5x as I dont have the device, but for my nexus 5 it does work
When I set usa band I lose my signal, but when I select automatic band selection or euro band I get back my signal.

Wow. First of all, let me start of by saying THANK YOU VERY MUCH for showing an interest. Im going to download now and give it a try for sure. Im sorry that I did not reply to your prior post, I was just not in a sort my phone out mood in the last few days as I was more concerned with my daughters first few days of nursery.
I stated in another thread that I made a couple of days ago that I was going to send my phone back for a replacement which I did not think I would be able to do. But I still would rather see if your rom works to set back my bandmode instead. Rather than waiting weeks and keeping my fingers crossed so that a truly faulty unit does not make its way into my hands, if at all.
Again, even if this doesnt work, I really appreciate the help, not only as per your second post, but simply for your reply in the first instance.
Marko

thank you bitdomo it works and i back to stock factory rom and still works ....

Hi all, I have the exact problem on my newly nexus 6p phone, any chance if anyone can made custom rom for it as well?

I think I failed about extracting the proprietary files for nexus 6p from the system image. Sadly google still havent release the proprietary binaries for nexus 6p.
I will try to build a rom based on purenexus rom but I left home and will not come back until weekend. So you have to wait or build your own android by commenting out
if (size > 0) {
for (int i=1; i<size; i++) {item = new BandListItem(bands);
mBandListAdapter.add(item);
if (DBG) log("Add " + item.toString());
}

My S3 says "upgrading" all the time

After updating the phone with an ATT update, every time I restart or boot up my device it says that "Android is upgrading". Does anyone have the same issue? How do I get rid of that?

I suspect that the update didn't go quite right. It says that when the system is rebuilding your cache/dalvik cache. It sounds like maybe one or both of those is getting cleared when you shut down or they may not be getting built properly in the first place. I'd suggest backing up whatever you care about and doing a factory wipe. It can be a bit of a pain, but it'll probably solve your problem.
Also, bring on the details yo. Phone? Android version you came from/upgraded to? Aaaaaanything at all.
I has Android 4.0.4 and the latest update. It's a rooted phone and AT&T is my provider.

Are you running a custom ROM? I agree, you should do a factory reset. Just be sure to back up your data beforehand.

No, I am not running a custom rom, all I have done to the phone is root it. What's the best way to back up your data? I useTitanium backup. How do I do a factory reset? I am new to the Android world and don't know much, any help will be greatly appreciated.

What phone do you have? Titanium backups are fine. Make sure the backups are on an external SD card or get them off the internal flash. If you need to shuffle files around, you can use ES File Explorer but BE CAREFUL if you give it root privs for some reason. No offense, but since you're kinda new to this if you screw up and erase the wrong thing, stuff's gonna break. Without knowing who makes your phone, the best I can tell you is to go into settings and dig around for the factory reset. Good luck!
I fixed the first problem with the factory reset but now I can't connect the phone to my Mac using Android file transfer. Could the update had something to do with it?

Like the other guy said, the update could be a possibility.
Reminds me when I had iPhones before I discovered Android. If you wanted to stay jailbroken, you'd have to make sure it's safe to do so before you update. Like you had to make sure it was iTunes safe, etc.
Did you install Google wallet?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
So if AT&T has an update and your phone is rooted, don't update? I went ahead and updated without thinking about it. I am an iPhone user and didn't think that ATT had anything to do with Android OS. I took care of the upgrading issue, before the update I was able to use Android File Transfer with my Mac and I would connect to the phone, now forget about it. I can only do it now using VMware Fusion. Kies works but it's kind of limited. My next thing will be to install a ROM, but I can't find exactly what kind of phone I have. I know it's a Galaxy S3 from AT&T.

What kind of specific rom's I have to look for, I've herd that if you install the incorrect rom you will brick your phone.
Im not very familiar with mac or iOS but your problem sounds like a driver issue on the mac, not android. Is usb debugging enabled by chance? Settings>developer options>android debugging....if its on try turning off then reconnect your phone. If its off try turning it on and reconnect and see if it changes. Beyond that i would suggest deleting any samsung/android usb device druvers from the mac and reinstalling....although someone with more iOS experience will have to offer some advice in exactly how to do that if you dont know, i certainly dont.
As far as installing AT&T OTA updates with root, its generally not a good idea, especially if you do install a custom ROM. Even on a stock rooted ROM there is a pretty good chance the update will 'fix' your root access and if you are on a custom ROM there is probably an even better chance of screwing up the operating system to the point that it doesn't boot properly, or even brick. Only install updates to your ROM from the developer, and follow any instructions they give on how to apply the update.
Lastly, you are looking for AT&T i747 roms and you also have to pay attention to which version of android you are on as to how you go about installing the ROM. For instance if you are running the stock AT&T ROM and try to install an AOSP based rom without formatting the device you are more than likely to have all kinds of issues, IF the OS even boots properly. I would suggest you take some time to read up and become familiar with the terminology, differences in versions, etc with android before you just dive in. If you are unsure about something ASK SOMEONE...much better to look like a noob than standing in line at AT&T with a bricked phone.
I was under the impression that all of these show that when rebooting, its just a matter of how long it shows this message. I dont think anyone with a stock rom does NOT see this when they boot for a couple of seconds.
Any good place to begin looking for stock ROMS?

[NOW PUBLIC!] Team Codefire Presents: Project FreeGee!

Please note, this is not compatible with the JB OTA - use the app in the Play store instead for now. Thanks!
Howdy all! So, it's time for me to dig out my release thread template... you know what that means?
The LG Optimus G is now unlocked.
Both the AT&T Version and the Sprint Version have been successfully unlocked with this method.
(To answer your question, if you're wondering, we're going to work on the Canadian version next, then the Korean version)
First off, I'd like to write a few words to LG:
Dear LG, a product will rise and fall on the shoulders of it's community.
If you lock a device, and shut out your community, you lose the backing of a very vocal group of people. When you lose the backing of your community, they no longer recommend your product, and you lose money. HTC has discovered this recently.
Please support your development community, we understand product security plays a role here, but ensure that you cater to your community still.
The second you try to fight your development community by locking them out of your products is the second that I will cease to recommend your products.
Keep this in mind, and I assure you that you will find yourself on the top of the game.
With all of that said, let's get back to the goodies.
What is this?!
This is Project FreeGee, silly!
Have an Optimus G ? This project will allow you to unlock your bootloader, and install whatever you want.

How does this work?
For the moment, that is a trade secret. Suffice it to say that we put some ones and zeros in the right places, and good things happen.
This is also my opportunity to say do not allow any OTAs to install without asking if they are compatible. LG could possibly patch this in such a manner that makes it rather hard to ever exploit it again.

Okay, I'm game. Where do I get it?
Version 0.3 has a confirmed bug-- camera app crashes phone after a few seconds!
If you have 0.3 installed, simply download this, extract the .zip, and extract the .tar file. Inside the freegee-working directory, you'll find boot-att-freegee.img .
Boot your phone to fastboot, then fastboot flash boot /path/to/boot-att-freegee.img
I will release a quick fix .zip for flashing in CWM tomorrow.
Current Version: 0.5
Changelog:
New in v0.5 Removed LG Security check. You are now free to remove any and all apps.

Currently, the download is Windows-only. I will make a OSX/Linux/Windows version soon!

FAQ
Can I flash an OTA after installing this?
No. Flashing an OTA could contain a new bootloader, and it would replace the one we have put on your device. If you flash the new OTA, and it replaces the bootloader but not the boot.img, you could be left in a situation where you could not boot the phone due to a security error. Once you're in that position, the only thing you can do is LGNPST back to stock-- and even then, it is possible that an OTA could enable an anti-rollback feature which would disable LGNPST.
Does this mean I can flash custom ROMs now?
Yes. However, the custom ROM must be made for your device. We're working on a decrapified stock ROM, and AOSP ROMs as well. Be patient for those to come.
Can I install a Nexus 4 system image and boot.img and have it work?
We've tested that, and the answer is no, not yet. Some work needs to be done, but once we figure it out, we'll have a quick and easy AOSP ROM.
Does this mean that we can use the Nexus 4 sources (kernel and android) ?
Short answer: Yes.
This phone is essentially a Nexus 4, with minor differences in GPIOs, memory address space, and partition table layouts.
Kernel source is iffy, since we've got Eco mode and a few other things that actually make me like the Optimus kernel more than the Nexus kernel.
However, this discussion is best suited for a new post.
How can I uninstall this?
I'm working on an easy-uninstall for this as well. Stay tuned for the links...

Important Information
To enter bootloader, hold volume UP and power.
Upon entering the bootloader, you will notice that there is no 'menu' to enter fastboot or recovery. Unfortunately, since the stars didn't align properly, we were unable to tell the new bootloader where to load the images that contain the menu from.
In light of that, you'll have to navigate the menu blind. Use the volume keys to change selection, and the power key to select.
The choices are (in order of pressing volume down):
Start - boot the phone normally [already selected]
Restart Bootloader - reboot into the bootloader
Recovery Mode - enter recovery (CWM)
Power Off - powers the phone off
So, to get to Recovery, you would press volume down twice then power.
If you have trouble with this, watch my video below for a demonstration.

Instructions!
Please note: this requires root before you can install this! If you haven't rooted your phone yet, now is the time to do so.
Also, ensure that you have ADB drivers installed. This WILL NOT WORK without them.
Before we begin: please make sure you have USB Debugging turned on, your phone is in "Charge Only" mode, and your phone's screen is on and unlocked.
This will allow you to see the root access prompt if your phone asks for it.
Download the .zip from this post
Extract it somewhere on your hard drive
Ensure your screen is on and unlocked
Run the "freegee.bat" script, and follow the instructions.
Do not run this as administrator! the install will fail if you do so.
Once the unlock is complete, check to make sure you have a "backups" folder now in the folder where you put FreeGee. If not, DO NOT REBOOT your phone.
Even a failed unlock will still show the 'congratulations you're unlocked!' text, read the output to see if you have errors!
You should not see any "adb.exe not found" errors, or "tar: invalid magic" errors. Those would be errors in the script.
An error which you can ignore is "No space left on device" after it says erasing old recovery and boot. That's just a side effect of how we clear the old images out.

"Mister Cubed, how do I talk to you?"
That's easy! Hop on IRC and join me on Freenode in #lg-optimus-g . I'm in there as IOMonster (or IOMonster_desk, or IOMonster_work, depending on where I am)
There's also a lot of other cool people in there too!
When you hop in IRC, if you've got a question, just ask it. Don't say "halp! i does brick'd my phone, and i dunno wat to does?!!", but rather "can anyone help? my phone is stuck in fastboot mode, and I can't get out of it. I flashed <xyz> and now I'm stuck here."
Asking your full question (even though it might be a long message) helps us figure out the best way to assist you, without us having to lead the conversation and ask all the questions for you.
Also, on IRC (for those of you who have never used IRC) if you say someone's name, it will 'ping' (also called 'highlight') them. This tells us that someone is talking to us. So, if you pop in IRC and say "IOMonster, it worked!", I'll get a notification, and will probably say "that's awesome!" in response.

Had signed up for phone freedom to get $50 gift card back in February.
So I just ran this and had a couple little panic moment!!
1. While reading the script, SU poped up and I missed the "Grant SU" button on the phone. I still got the backup folder but nothing was in it. I then thought it worked, rebooted, and nothing.
The second time I ran this, I got to the "Grant SU" button in time and all went GREAT!!! This time I had files in the backup folder.
2. When I rebooted into recovery, I tried to make a backup. I hit the backup button and got some message that said "Can't mount backup path". So i tried the backup to internal SD and it worked.
Figured I'd write this in case anybody else had the same moment's I did.
The files on the backup folder are very differnt from what I'm used to so hopefully I did it correctly. I noticed there was an option in CWM to choose the backup format after I'd made my backup, so I'm not sure which format is correct for Restore. I guess I used the default which is .dup.
Thank you very much dev's for this!!!!!

DO NOT use the camera!!!! It'll crash your phone!!!
I read about it in the ATT section just now, but it's too late for me. So I guess we have this bug also.
OK...so not quite a crash. Held the volume down button and power together and got it to reboot.
Now we just need to have a way to recover our phones if/and/or when we do crash our phones. I know the devs are working on this, as obviously they are the bomb!!!

I'm sure hoping you're referring to my post above. I get alittle wiggy if I don't have a way to fix my phone myself.

Note 2 stuck on Samsung Logo

Couldnt find threads related to my specific device so i made it.
After installing a custom rom on my tmobile gn2 (hyperdroid pegasus) i realized that my SIM card wasnt being detected. Having run into this problem before i decided to use the gn2 toolkit to re-flash a stock rom and start from scratch, which worked and allowed my sim card to be detected use my mobile network (TMOBILE USA)
Only after installing hyperdroid and trying to reflash the stock rom, the custom hyperdroid rom would stay on the device after multiple attempts! Being clever, i decided to download and reflash the rom using ODIN only in download mode which worked and now the device is running the Samsung Official build branded with tmobile but will not boot past the samsung logo (one of two that i see appear upon boot)
Looking at a thread for the original Note 1, do i assume correctly that my phone is now bricked? If so, anyone else know of an absolute md5/tar image i can use that can get me back to factory out of the box, i bought this phone unsubsidized over the iphone5 because i wanted something that woulc pack a wallop. Now im just walloping myself for wasting not just 100 dollars more but 750 dollars on a device, running an os, being supported by everyone who wants their hands on it, in a community that will chew you out if you ask incorrectly.
So im whining yes but i could use some advice. Sure im a noob but so were you once, all i reall ask for is some compassion. thanks...

I cannot begin to explain this ordeal i had with my note 2. Thanks for the replies as of this point however, actually directions that i took in figuring it all out and getting my phone back to factory defaults...
So to elaborate, my N2 has been rooted for a few days and i decided to install a custom ROM, which disabled or didn't support my SIM. Trying to undo the flash and go back to a ROM i was using via ROM manager, i realized it could not be undone. Every time i tired to reflash a(ny) zip from my device using rom manager i was still booting with the custom malfunctioning rom (Hyperdroid Pegasus)
After realizing that i couldn't undo the flash of the custom rom via ROM manager, the galaxy note 2 toolkit or via ODIN straight up, i somehow ended up bricking my phone using an image i got off of samsung-updates (which i downloaded using the galaxy n2 toolkit). In bricking i mean it would power on and boot into the samsung whirlpool, then the tmobile 4g accelerated android, and then to a glowing samsung logo and didn't progress from there.
Doing some research i noticed that there was a more recent image version for my specific device (jan 5 2013) downloaded it and gave that a try, flashed it via ODIN (because by the time it was bricked Download mode / Odin mode and ODIN 3.07 for windows was my only available option!) and launched up my gn2... ONLY to find it booting to the animations and then looping them! WTF?!
So more research and i got to a recovery mode, wiped my data and finally voila. (Even samsung support couldn't support this...)
No discredit to the Hyperdroid Rom, I'm sure it works for a lot of people out there but i guess it doesn't like my tmobile note 2 sgh-t889.
I just hoped if anyone else ran into the same problem, download the image from samsung-updates.com, the latest of course! Then, (if you can boot into download mode that is) use ODIN (i used version 3.07) to load the image you got off samsung-updates (OSM will take more or less 5 minutes to check the md5 package so don't panic)
If your lucky you shouldn't have to do anything else, but if you get into a weird situation when you can't get past the boot animation screens, boot into recovery mode (which i THINK is hold down UP, POWER, AND THE HOME KEY as it powers up) and select to CLEAR WIPE DATA or FACTORY RESET.
Hopefully after wiping you should have successfully re-flashed a "bricked" galaxy note 2 that won't boot past the animation screens.
Thanks for reading! Im here to answer any questions or help, maybe i won't play with custom rome anymore but id sure like to start building my own!

To both you guys, i just want to say i elaborated on your answers for the benefit of helping someone like me who craves detail. No offense to you guys, but i was racketing with Samsung about this and driving their people nuts! the solution had came to me before i saw your replies so I'm just glad i took the right path in it all and i guess i admit i lost faith in XDA for a second there. anyways :good:
So wait, in all that flashing and reflashing and messing with Odin, you hadn't done a factory reset yet? Isn't that the first step almost any ROM dev(or even any normal flashoholic on these forums) will tell you to take?

Lol, funny picture. Yes i almost lost faith but obviously you guys came through. I am one of 4 million people who did or didnt follow the rules but thats a good thing, i think the tmobile jellybean community needs as much help as it can get right now and if it takes making a tiny mistake good for us.
actually shinkinrui, i wasnt sure if you were trying to troll me or trying to remind me that this forum is for the leet and the leet only. I understand the work devs go through, but its still a community that needs to thrive, not be put off or put down.
Neither, actually. I was annoyed at the implication that it was this community's fault you went through your ordeal. Like someone blaming their cable company for their cable not working when they just didn't change the input on their TV.
And my post didn't insult you, it pointed out your mistake. Big difference
Thanks !!!

"wiping data / factory install" selection worked for me
Thanks for this tip!
I was stuck on the Samsung animation logo after flashing to 4.1.1 so that I could unlock my phone. :crying:
I went to the recovery mode and hit the "wipe data / factory install" selection and it rebooted into the 4.1.1 ROM successfully.

[Q] GT-i9250 Baseband unknown & IMEI blank

I did an OTA upgrade from ICE Stock 4.0.4 to stock JB 4.1.1.
After a day there was no mobile network available, though WIFI work. I tried other SIM but no network.
I see that IMEI, baseband etc. is coming as "unknown"
As all my efforts of factory reset, reboot etc failed, reflashing the latest images and going back to 4.0.4. etc.
But still no network.
In the phone settings
Basebad version : unknown
Network : Unknown
IEMI : unknown
Service state : Out of service/Radio off (keeps changing every 4-5 sec)
No idea what is happening.
I saw similar issues reported but not able to figure out how finally they solved it.
I dont have backup of efs folder as well
I tried with couple of Samsung Service Centres in Bangalore, India but they are not accepting the request as the phone was bought in US and also that Google/Samsung is not selling i9250 in India.
Any suggestions/help is appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
Mohan
HELP
Also having the same issue. Been researching and still haven't came up with a solution. Thread bump.
Bummmmp
I got same issue, I unlocked a Canadian rogers i9250 with the DOCOMO unlock and haven't had original IMEI since, however when I plug it into ADB I see the original and I still see it on my box. I'd kinda like to fix it too, not sure what the pros or cons are.

Did you guys tried to fully wipe and go back to stock image? When I say full wipe it means using adb and applying a full reset. Try the toolkit on the dev forums if adb is not your cup of tea.

How do you "fully wipe with ADB"?
OP, check 'mount' output. Do you see /efs mounted at mount point /factory once fully booted?
When I say fully wipe is not using the recovery, but using the command terminal to flash the full Google factory image

OK, thanks very much for these information. Oh well, seems like I have to buy another mainboard
Just a second! Your phone isn't exactly 'dead', have you gone to the sim toolkit to recognize said sim card or is this a Verizon model? Sorry using tapatalk so having to flip back and forth lol I would suggest trying another sim to make sure you're 100% unlocked.

Also double check APN settings as I'm sure you have heard of this multiple times. Also if you're comfortable with flashing, go for CyanogenMod maybe it will fix what you need as its the number 1 updated custom ROM. Its packed with a kernel that's updated as much as its ROM. Try wiping entire system and flashing via adb side load provided you know what I'm talking about and have a recovery that supports this ( I use TWRP)

Thank you for you reply. I'm not familiar with flash. But I can do following the guider……
Some days ago, I received an OTA update, I tried to install it. however, it failed. because I deleted some Google's apps. So I tried to update my NEXUS using factory image from Google over cable. It was successful. But two days later, I found my phone lost signal. And then I found baseband version unknown, and IMEI too. I did nothing with it except connecting to PC overnight. I tried to find out why and how to fix it. Someone said efs was corrupted. But I didn't backup it. Even I didn't know which folder was efs. factory? or in dev/
block/platform.....? or same? Now there are several files in factory, but no one file in data/radio as you shown in your reply. Now I don't know what to do..I dont want to use my Nexus as a player...

Sounds like my old problem actually heh, well unfortunately it seems you won't be able to recover your original IMEI because it at some point was rooted and unlocked with DoCoMo method (Like myself, you won't recover IMEI but connections will work!) What I suggest you do is download the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit by Wugfresh and flash stock 4.3 factory image. Then go from there. (Best for you because it will restore STOCK radio)
The reason your OTA didn't work is because the Google apps you have removed are linked to gapps (where the ROM went to update them but there is nothing to update) also because you're device was/is? Rooted.
I suggest the Wugfresh toolkit because it's especially useful for beginners.
I'll find the link shortly, just at work right now.
As for your English, I'm a Canadian and I can tell very clearly what it is your typing.
EDIT - here you go good sir and hopefully we can breathe life back into your amazing phone! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208863
Those logs almost look as if a wrong radio was flashed, I could be wrong though if you haven't flashed before.
Let me know if there's anything else you need.

OEM issues

Hello. 3 weeks ago I was testing lineage 19 and had decided to install the gapps. The problem is, when I was trying to start TWRP it did not start from the twrp logo so I tried to flash from odin TWRP 3.4.0 to "try" to fix the recovery. When the phone did not start I decided to reinstall the official rom but I only found a version that worked flashing by odin (mexican version. at&t) the phone started and I decided to wait 7 days for the oem unlock to reappear. The problem is that 8 days have passed and oem unlock is still not available and when I go back to download mode it says rmm prenormal.
Will it have to do with having used a telephony rom when installing stock? I have no idea why it does not appear (it should be clarified. I did not turn off the device or disconnect from the internet in all that time, only when it was already on the eighth day because it was already very saturated) Sorry if I'm posting this wrong, or if you misunderstand what I'm trying to say. It's my first time writing here and I don't speak enough English to write this for myself. So I'm trying to "improve" the google translation changing some words
Thank you very much for reading this post and any help is welcome.
.

not really. After what I have mentioned, I completely cleaned the phone many times. until a week ago I remembered that I just bought the mobile it took approximately 13 days for the oem unlock to appear. (I suppose that because it is a company it will take longer, I don't know) and a friend told me to wait approximately 300 hours (I have currently 222 hours). I feel that if it does not appear again I will be forced to buy a new phone :/

I am pretty sure. I do not turn off the mobile at all or disconnect it from the mobile data since I cannot make calls because of the VoLTE that is not available so I always receive calls through third-party applications. It should be clarified that I do not have an automatic restart activated, I also registered the mobile in the updates. At the moment I have 250 hours, I will wait 2 days to see if my theory is true.

If you dint re lock the bootloader when you installed that rom, the bootloader is unlocked right now, but pretty sure you have the samsung rmm in prenormal and thats why to "fix" it we need to wait 7+ days of usage so you should enter in download mode and check your RMM setting again or you should try to install another rom, could be some issue with that one

I had thought about that, but there are a lot of problems to find and download the correct version for the binary. I was still doing searches when I updated to android 8 just to install TWRP and they also match the 13 days that I had mentioned before. if it doesn't appear again I'll have to download another rom at 50kbps
When updating use odin since by chance the OTA update did not work. The same thing happened to lose the oem unlock and while I was preparing everything to install TWRP, approximately 20 days passed. but I already had the unlocking after 15 days.

I want to thank you for the program. It worked perfectly (although I used it from android because I was too lazy to turn on the PC) Today at dawn I installed the romania version (I used that version the first time I installed TWRP) All the AT&T garbage is gone
Now I only have to wait 7 days to see if the rom had any errors (Curiously when trying to update the available time zones by restarting it never updated. I think that was the problem)
Sorry for the question. But, did the oem unlock appear to you in all this time that passed?
Since you commented approximately 9 days ago until now I thought I'd ask you if the oem unlock appeared even using a rom that had the at&t logo

Your welcome mate right now i have 143h(my fault i restart it lol) so we will see tomorrow if the option appear, still i dont care about the OEM option because it was set ON last time because i was using LOS, but the "RMM state = Prenormal" in download mode its what is locking my phone to be available to change rom, so yeah we will see tomorrow!
Saddly dint work, gonna try installing a old version of my country code or try to get a clean version, not this weird thing with att $ht
Edit:nothing seems to work so i installed the newest update of my country and debloat the rom... it let it to my mom again and she will be using a good amount of time 4 weeks and ill check again.
Edit 2: seems we are out of options now https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...d-expired-certificate-whats-next-lol.4403393/
Yup. that explains everything. It seems that in the end I will have to change my phone, do you think there is a way to remove the prenormal RMM? I'm not very experienced in mobile development. This really makes me cry

There are apps for repair services (like ChimeraTool) that can unlock it. Wouldn't be free, though.

I wonder what is "recent" I also tried this when I had the ATT rom. it didn't work for me anyway. I would try if it works but I'm already tired of flashing stock rom every time I try
I guess I'll wait for it to just unlock or I don't know

Yeah forget about it, I tried today all the tricks again many times and nothing, I'm gonna try a month without power off the phone but right now my hopes are lost.
