You've one of latest version for your device. If a update exists for your device, you can update it via Update Center (aka OTA) from your phone.

I'm from uk and have flashed many kdz from different regions without any problems. Currently I am on 20w-eur the latest for uk is 20u.I have flashed from Poland and Spain before without any issues although I would recommend flashing kdz roms near to your country ie if you are in the UK not to flash a China kdz but technically I think you can flash any.
Remember to read the LG Fashtool guide thoroughly and do not disconnect until your phone as thoroughly flashed and rebooted.

I am from Romania but the phone is unlocked.
I have a little bug which really annoys me: When i select swype to unlock the phone, after i swype, there is a little lag, around 0,5-1 second, before the virtual menu buttons appear. However, if i select PIN to unlock the phone, this lag doesn't appear and the virtual menu buttons appear instantly.
I was wondering if there is something to do with my rom, V20t, and i wanted to try a different one, but i want to be sure it is safe because this is my first LG and my first experience with flashing roms. I am full stock, not even rooted.
Thank you.

Nothing is 100% safe but if you want the latest firmware without too much technical knowledge then using flashtool is probably the best way to go.
Just follow the instructions on how to use flashtool and make sure you understand everything and you will be ok.Just remember don't unplug your phone from the computer until it as totally flashed and rebooted and you should be fine.
I have used flashtool many times and not had any problems you could always wait for the Android M update ota but that may not be until after Christmas.

hi guys im new to the lg g3 (well any lg phone) just a couple of questions
from what ive read there isnt many roms due to the locked bootloader will the bootloader be unlocked in the future?
i have the D855 uk vodafone model is they a working TWRP or CWR for the g3?
ive rooted so does this mean i can at least remove some bloteware?
thanks guys sorry for questions :victory:

Probably yes, if the @thecubed and others beat the protection (last post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...3-vs98510b-t2890349/post55729952#post55729952)

There is only Tethered version and I would not recommend to use it. It's for advanced users only and it's not a "real" recovery. More on http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/recovery-twrp-2-7-1-3-t2831668

Yes, you can... , or freeze it. If you will the cause softbrick, use LG Flash Tool 2014 and flash in NORMAL mode latest stock ROM you used or use LG PC Suite. After this you need to re-root it. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-unroot-ota-using-lg-pc-suite-pc-t2802286)

thanks for the replys if the bootloader doesnt get unlocked then thats going to destroy the g3 for development isnt it
is they a way to flash latest stock rom and get off the vodafone branded rom so i at least get all the latest OTAs?
Not sure I understand you question, but if you mean, whether you will be able to update the phone via OTA in the future, it depends.
If not or if it will not work, unroot your phone, install OTA and the re-root and you should be fine.
But still - all of that is already described in dedicated threads, don't be afraid to take a look around. :fingers-crossed:
As for the development - I guess when it will not get unlocked, it will be from my perspective one of the most wasted money on Android phone for many.

lol sorry what i ment is im on a vodafone branded firmware now and i wanted to flash a unbranded latest uk stock rom so it will be first to get OTA as branded firmwares can be a bit behind is it possible?
thanks again:good:
I don't think so, but someone else should confirm it.
Eg. you can download FW based on IMEI (http://lg-firmware-rom.com/download-firmware.php?f=YOUR_IMEI_HERE), not based on whether it's branded or not.
But still you have option to use the tools like LG Flash Tool 2014 and simply flash latest firmware you want (for your variant)

Problems changing Rom
Hi guys I seem to be hitting a problem. I have a d855 uk version of he g3 branded to Vodafone uk.
No matter which rom I install it will always stay the same branded version. For example if i flash euro 10A it will become a Vodafone version of 10A not the generic euro version. I have tried uK specific kdz and euro ones, even tot files the same thing happens it will downgrade to the version of my carrier specific rom.
I don't know what else to do it flashes ok just never makes it stock with no carrier branding. Any ideas. Thanks guys.
This doesnt go here as a start but have you tried flashing a stock rom like androidnow ......

it will always stay branded, as soon as you go online your imei is checked and because it is marked as vodafone, the vodafone apps will start downloading automatically. just delete /data/.op everytime also this is clearly an question so post it next time in the q&a section
Ok thanks will do. One question though when flashing from a kdz it does not go online so how does it know to download.

If your flashing KDZ then your flashing a stock rom, All stock roms are carrier specific and have the bloat.
Here are your options:
1. Manually remove bloat.
2. Use a script to remove bloat.
3. Use a custom rom that's already debloated.
thats the thing though i flash a carrier specific rom and it just gets changed to my carriers rom
I wonder if someone nice can help me understand a little better re what version's of firmware I can install on my G4
My G4 is Model LG-H815 I noticed the box has TWN on it so it most likely came from Taiwan (I purchased it on ebay from Kogan) and I am in Australia on Telstra network.
Is mine classed as the international version then?
It came with V10b-TWN-XX installed on it.
After reading another thread I yesterday flashed it using version from Poland 10D H81510.kdz using the KDZ flash LG Flash Tool 2014 method
It is running fine on the above and doing that flash removed the Chinese keyboard and stuff so that was good.
I noticed after checking I am still vulnerable to the Stagefright issue so would like to find a newer rom that has this issue fixed if possible.
I am confused about all the versions of ROM's going around and was hoping someone could give me an overview of the various one and pros and cons against using them on my particular G4.
I dont mind doing a complete reinstall so keeping current data isn't important.
I would also like to root the rom (mainly so I can adjust the DPI) So some help on rooting the latest ROM would also be appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

I don't know for sure, but you could try cyanogenmod, it should have a working installerar that helps you (depends on if they made the installer for your devices)

If your model in the model report is H815, then you are safe to flash the unbranded European kdz. As I have said in other topics, as long as it's not H815T, or H815P or whatever, then it's fine to flash EU kdz on it.

The latest version that I know of is the European Open 10E.
After you flash that one using the kdz flashing method, you can check around for the rooted 10e img and flash it using low effort root method.

OK all done - all working fine..
One small issue one of the apps I use "Netatmo" will no longer install "This item is not compatible with your system" error when trying to install from the G4 or via GooglePlay on PC..
Must be some sort of region thing perhaps?
And I get "Warning current version is not avalible for user ....." error on boot up.
Any idea how to get around that?
Thanks again.
AFAIK no way to get rid of that, but it doesn't affect any usability of the phone, so I just learn to ignore it.

Yes there is a way to get rid of it, as long as you have root. I don't know the specifics but I read it in one of the threads. Just search the error I'm sure you'll find it.
OK I have a UK Vodaphone G3 (LG-D855) still with their bootloader but it is rooted using the purple drake method which i did about 9 months ago, I think now is the right time to update the OS, so should i go via the OTA route and go to Lollipop or wait and go the Marshmallow or given i have rooted do i have to use another method to upgrade the OS.
Looking at my "Update Centre" it says the following "New OS Version: V20f-DEC-22-2014 (522.49MB)"
I am happy working with PC's but know very little about phones so please be gentle with me.
If you need any more info from me just ask.

Do not upgrade via ota when rooted this is a big no no can cause big problems.. If you want a new update just flash a kdz (stock rom) with flashtool. There are plenty of guides on here on how to do that.
v20f is a very old update the newest is 21a..I would probably wait for Marshmallow according to rumors it should be with us about middle of December .:good:

OK many thanks for the info tallman43 and also thx for the links, looking at the link with the rom's i'm unsure if i should go for number 520 as it say V10l or 530 as mine is Vodaphone 16GB, or does it not even matter?
Also one very newbie question if i may these "roms" are in PC talk just images of a pc when it comes out the factory, all have windows 7 for example but some will have different apps preinstalled depending if it was Dell or HP etc, just trying to get my head round it "my way" if you get my drift.

V10 kdz are kitkat roms V20 kdz are lollipop roms obviously if you want the latest firmware then V20 is the one to go for. Also if you look through all the firmware's not just uk you will find 21a kdz this is the very latest one. Also you don't have to specifically use the uk ones technically you can flash any I am from the Uk and have used 21a without any problems.
Only thing I would say is if you flash one from another country try for ones that are closer to uk ie: Don't flash lets say a HongKong firmware but places like Poland,Spain,France etc are ok but like I said you could technically flash any.
Also in answer to your last question about pre installed apps yes some of them may have odd one or two different apps installed in them by the carrier.
One last thing if and when you use flashtool make sure you do not unplug your phone until it as fully flashed and rebooted flashtool sometimes comes up with a banner saying something like can't connect or failed. Look at the progress bar on your phone this is the best way to see if it is flashing ok.
OK mant thanks tallman43 you've been a real star with all this info.

Another thing - custom ROMs are faster than stock work various improvements, so flashing a custom is highly recommended.

Guide: How to upgrade/downgrade/restore OFFICIAL firmware on your V30.
Requirements:
LG V30
Windows PC
Official Firmware file for your V30 ending with .kdz. You can find it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development or here https://lg-firmwares.com/
Bootloader does not need to be unlocked. All variants can be flashed using this method.
Only fully official, LG signed and blessed, unmodified firmware can be flashed using this method. No custom roms or recoveries!
Lets go:
Download and install LG USB drivers from here.
Download and install LG UP 1.14.3 from here.
Download .dll file for our V30, attached at the bottom of this post.
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model
Create folder called "common" and unzip the .dll file inside of it.
Connect the phone to your PC
[Optional]Open Device Manager and verify if under Ports you can see LGE Mobile USB Serial Port (COM...) to make sure the LG driver was installed correctly and the phone is visible.
Launch LGUP.exe
Select process called "UPGRADE" Warning: Selecting Refurbish will wipe user data.
Select the firmware file.
Click Start!
Your phone will automatically reboot into Download mode and upgrade firmware.
There's no need to do a factory reset afterwards but you can if you encounter any issues ofc. (I haven't)
Thanks for the guide.
thank you. I would love to try the MIUI ROM on this device.

My apologies if I misunderstood. Is this a way to apply alternative ROMs even on models with locked bootloaders and the ADB Commands stripped out such as the H 933? I know you said already that it will work on any variant but I had lost hope that this model would ever allow modding of the rum. I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding the intention of your guide.

It will work as long as your /laf partition is in tact. It containts the DL mode. It has nothing to do with /recovery partition where you most likely flashed TWRP.

I have no idea about cross region firmware flashing. I have not found any official documentation about how each of LG UP's functions exactly works, it's all user experience here on XDA. Supposedly, every region has firmware signed with different RSA key which is verified upon trying to flash and it will reject you if it's a mismatch. Also I doubt Indian region has the same bands as HK so you might cripple your mobile signal if you happen to be on a band that is not supported in Indian firmware. Personally I don't recommend trying it but its up to you Please share your experience if you do
I know for sure that all H930 sold in EU, regardless of what carrier can be flashed with the same H930 unbranded EU firmware, which removes all carrier bloat and branding.
@sasc Check the RSA signature of your firmware and compare it to the firmware you want to flash. If they match, then it won't brick your phone. Your phone may not work, but at least your will have access to DL mode. If they don't match, you will definitely brick your phone..

India and HK are both global GSM regions. The bands are the same, just like Europe.

Could you please tell us what's the best way to check the signatures?
Okay.. I bring good news! You can definitely flash any KDZ as long as the model number is exactly the same. I flashed the HK Reginal kdz on my H930DS from India and I now have working VoLTE and VoWiFi.
In short, get the CORRECT kdz of the desired region for your model number, use LGUP, Upgrade option, and let it do its thing. Simple. This keeps the device official and under warranty.
PS - Please backup all data before doing this. Even though it is just an upgrade, play it safe. Just in case!

Thats great news ?. One question - to get VoWifi working, person at the other end should also have VoWifi? Or we can call VoWifi to VoLte. I have never tried VoWifi so just curious to know.

VoWiFi does not need the person at the other end to have any special call options.

So...kind of didn't work.
I used the H930DS marked India in lgfirmwares. The flashing process went fine, except for the phone getting stuck right after the last restart and the screen went blank. Waited a couple of mins and forced a restart using the power button..booted fine but all data was gone. Thankfully i did backup some stuff, but not all..
Checked the Software version, it says V11i-GLOBAL-COM, which is obviously not the India version. And, I still dont have Volte!! So, this was futile..
Can anyone point me to a certified H930DS India KDZ?
