[Flashfire][LS980]Stock ZVH Recovery Image - G2 Android Development

Hello everyone, so today I was playing around with Flashfire by @Chainfire and even though the app says it's untested for LG devices I decided to try it out on my LS980 LG G2, I restored my stock ZVH Recovery through AutoRec and went into Flashfire app and proceeded to make a backup of my stock ZVH Recovery, afterwards I loaded up AutoRec and reflashed twrp, then I used Flashfire to flash @blastagator's latest twrp 2.8.7.1 bumped recovery through the flash zip function, all functions worked perfectly, the attached zip is the result of the backup I made with Flashfire
EDIT: This backup can only be restored using Flashfire app.

I'm a little confused. Maybe you can help. My gf's Sprint LS980 is currently rooted on ZVG. I can (and will) install TWRP via AutoRec, as I just did with my LG G3 (LS990). However, my goal is to get ZVH installed on the LS980, maintain (or renew) root and not have to wipe or lose data. Will your method allow me to accomplish this? I'm not familiar with Flashfire, but will certainly install and use, if it gets me where I need to go.
One final question... I saw the next post mentioned ZVG*, making me wonder if your recovery was ZVG, not ZVH. Would appreciate any clarification and additional instruction you can provide to assist me. Thanks in advance!

The recovery in question is the one I backed up on ZVH which I'm currently running right now, but as far as I know it's still the zvg Recovery, I labeled it ZVH cause that's currently what my phone is running and when I made the backup, but to answer your question, I would backup your data partition, copy your backup to your computer or external flash drive for safe keeping then tot back to stock zve, download and install the 2 otas afterwards, then root the phone with your preferred method, install twrp through AutoRec, then flash @blastagator's twrp 2.8.7.1 bumped Recovery, then boot into twrp and restore your data and you should be all set

Lost SuperSU app - no can not boot into recovery

Hello folks,
after performing a more or less accidental factory reset I lost my SuperSU app (I am rooted and have TWRP 2.6.3.0 installed). To update the SU binary I need to boot into recovery. This seems somehow difficult on the LG 8.3, everybody seems to use Flashify (or similar apps) for that. But they do not work without SuperSU. Catch22.
The ultimate goal is to install CM11, but I am unsure how to proceed. How about this:
1) Reflash TWRP 2.6.3.0
2) Update to TWRP 2.6.3.2 using the Flashable zip v2.6.3.2 from here
3) Then flash CM11 using TWRP
Does that sound right? Thanks, Alex

Run the root process again. It should lay down SuperSU or SuperUser again (forget which one is actually used).

issues trying to root after restoring with flashtools

ok so I have a vs985 that was rooted with twrp and was running stock 4.4.2 10b. Ive been on it for a while and wanted to update. went though my usually backup routine, then updated base band to 23c installed cyanogenmod 12.1 then went to install gapps but when it started it rebooted back in to twrp so I tried again with no luck same thing, so I figured I'd boot the phone and go out and grab a new download reboot into recovery and install gapps, but after rebooting wasn't able to boot back into twrp. for some reason the button combination wouldn't work nor an apps I downloaded from the browser as I didn't have play store. either way I was able to get into something that allowed for a safe mode and reboot but that was all. so I said ok I use recovery tool to flash 10b root then install twrp then same as before update modem, cyanogenmod then gapps, but after going back to 10b I was not able to get root using stump root as I had before. every time I tried loading the app and I got an error saying something about phasing and everything I tried I was able to get it to load. so I thought maybe I could run some updates and try and root from other methods and so far no luck. so I'm currently on 5.0.1 and still cant root this methods like lg one click root so others. any ideas why this is happening? I don't mind going back to 4.4.2 10b to get root but I've had no luck with the multiply stump root or others I've tried.
thanks
Andrew

Seriously need help please

I recently rooted my phone, and without much research I attempted to install a custom rom.
Currently, my phone has a unfixable, broken charging port so I have no option of connecting it to a computer.
I was running 4.4.2 Kit Kat stock rom and attempted to install the latest twrp, but instead installed twrp 2.2. Is there any way to update through a sdcard?
I don't have any back up and my phone currently has no rom to go on.
So I'm completely lost as to what to do at this point.. If anybody could help get a stock rom or even a custom; I'll be very grateful!
Download the twrp app from the play Store to update twrp

I haven't used TWRP 2.2, I started using it at 2.5 or there abouts. I gather than you did successfully flash TWRP 2.2 and can boot into your custom recovery. If so you should be able to flash a newer version of TWRP from the external sdcard, you can on the newer versions. At the TWRP site the downloads come as flashable zips and as image files you can install with Odin. Download the zip format, put it on the external sdcard, put it in the phone, boot into recovery, and then flash. HTH.

Unable to Install TWRP Recovery

Hello everyone, I have LG G3 D851 T-Mobile.
I was on 5.0.1 and wanted to install custom ROM and for this I needed to install custom recovery first so I used Flashify to install TWRP (twrp-3.1.0-0-d851.img) , installation works fine it says installation complete, but when I restart the phone it starts bootloop.
So I restored my phone back to stock (4.4.2), rooted and again repeat flashify process this time again the same issue of bootloop.
Can Anyone here help me in this matter.
Thanks
Ha ha ha. If you had searched/looked here on xda you would know twrp 3.1 does not work only bootloops. Also twrp 3.0.2 is no good either. You should use the unofficial builds. Also a restore is not needed just pull battery for a minute and then it will boot back to the installed rom.

LG-D852 (g3) recovery install issues

so i downgraded to v30 of mm to be able to root my G3. I used lg toolkit 2014 and flashed it correctly that way. once I did I installed kingroot and rooted. after that I flashed or tried to flash twrp using flashify and official twrp app. they both say successful but when i go to go into recovery I get a error;
"boot verification fail!cause MISMATCH_SIG_LEN"
then it flashes red/blue. phone is still fully functional after and still able to use it. (no brick or anything).im not sure what else to do any suggestions?
thanks
