Bulletproof MIUI Addon Pack
Due to a lack of time, I've discontinued weekly updates to Bulletproof MIUI. I didn't want to leave anyone behind, so I believe I've come up with the next-best-solution.
The Bulletproof addon pack is designed to be flashed directly over the weekly translated MIUI builds (e.g. MIUI.us/MIUIandroid.com, etc). The pack will enable all of the features listed below, and should make your phone run significantly better.
The addon pack allows you to update as soon as the translations are available, so you're not stuck waiting on me to update every week! This pack should (in theory) work on pretty much any G2/DZ ROM, but your milage may vary. Please always make a backup before flashing, just in case.
Features
- /system converted to ext4 file system.
- Virtuous OC Daemon (Installing SetCPU or CPU Tuner will automatically disable the daemon.)
- Tsubus' ILWT kernel
- EFS wiped on flash to prevent GPS issues.
- Wifi Calling conditionally installed for T-Mobile US users, uninstalled otherwise.
- Modified SD card read cache (set to 4096)
- Applications Zipaligned on boot (skipped if already ZA'd)
- App Widget Picker added for users who prefer to use alternative launchers.
- CyanogenMod/Galaxy Nexus ringtones/notification/alarm tones
- OC/UV Beater bundled to control/configure OC
- Themed keyboard that's much more MIUI-like
Installation Instructions:
- Install the MIUI ROM of your choice (MIUI.us/MIUIAndroid.com recommended)
- Flash the Addon pack
- Configure OC settings via the OC/UV Beater application
Whenever you update your MIUI each week (either via OTA or by manually downloading/flashing), simply flash the pack afterwards and you're all set!

MIUI Resources and Addons
1. Long press on the icon in Toggles to launch the settings for that icon.
When you pull down the notification bar, you will see the Toggle settings for plenty of options (such as WIFI, volume, backlight etc). Long press on any icon in the Toggle mode will launch the setting for that icon.
2. Built-in Screen Capture function
One of the lacking feature in Android is the lack of a built-in screen capture feature (like in iPhone). Not anymore. With MIUI, you can press the “Menu” key and “Volume Down” key at the same time to capture a screenshot. The printed image is saved in the “MIUI: directory in the sd card.
3. Press Home key to preview screens
Pressing the Home button once will bring you back to the Home screen. Pressing the Home button button will show you all the screen thumbnails. You can also ad/remove screens from here.
4. Slide from left to right to quickly delete a message or a call log.
In the SMS or Dialer app, swipe left or right any entry will bring up the Delete mode.
5. Move home screen icon easily
Hold down an icon by one hand to enter Edit Mode, and then use the other hand to slide the screen to move the icon to the target screen.
6. Launch Music Player in lockscreen
In the lockscreen, double tap the time zone to launch the Music Player. (The Music Player is hidden by default, unless a song is playing)
7. Quickly access the Dialer or SMS from the lockscreen
In the lockscreen, hold down the icon of Call or SMS, and you can enter the responding program.
8. Activate the torch from the lockscreen
In the lockscreen, hold down the Home button to enable the torch.
9. Access shortcut menu from contact image
In the Calls, SMS or Contacts app, tap the contact image and a shortcut menus will appear.
10. Search via voice recognition
Long press on the Search button will launch search via voice recognition.
11. Switch the Battery UI to show percentage
The default battery UI can be switched to display percentage of left battery capacity. To do so, go to “Settings -> System -> Battery Settings -> Battery Indicator Style -> Percentage“.
12. Long press on the Home button to show History
Like any other Android ROM, long press on the Home button will show the recently used apps. However, in MIUI, there is also an App Killer and App Manager button. Swiping the popup left will show the search form.
13. Setting up IP dialing
If you need to add an IP prefix for a particular number in a strange land, you can set it in Settings -> Common -> Calls Settings. Turn the “Auto IP dialing” ON and set the IP prefix and current area code.
14. Send SMS for rejected calls
When you are not available to answer the phone, you may slide up the panel to reject the call and to send a message to the caller at the same time.
15. Enable 720P to record a video
If your phone comes with a camera that support HD recording, you can enable 720P in the Video mode. Run the Camera app and switch to Video. Select “High” -> “720P” in the pop-up menu of video quality.
16. Quickly uninstall an app
To uninstall an app, simply press and hold the icon until the trash bin show up at the top of the screen. Move the icon to the trash bin to uninstall the app.
17. Quickly read SMS and mark it read
In the lockscreen, press down the SMS button (without dragging it down) to reveal the new incoming message on the lockscreen. Once you have finished reading it, double tap on the SMS button to mark it read.
18. Making the MIUI launcher smoother
On first boot on a fresh install, go into Launcher Settings, and toggle hi-res graphics on, then back off again (If you intend on using the stock MIUI Launcher, this seems to smooth it out significantly)
19. Brightness slider on notification pulldown
Disable auto brightness and you'll get a brightness slider in the notification toggle pulldown.
20. Built in FTP server
MIUI has a built-in FTP file server. To use it, open the File Manager application, and tap on the "FTP" tab.
BONUS: MIUI is pronounced "ME YOU EYE", but say it however you want

virtuous OC! time to ditch osimod's. Ill miss extended settings though

I installed it and it performs well so far. I flashed the tiamat 1.1 kernel to because i like the smartass governor a lot, but now it seems as if the virtuous overclock controller just doesn't work with it (fc's all the time).. Does this mean that the daemon doesn't work either?
Whats better abouth the virtous controller compared to setcpu?
Cheers keep up the good work tho!!
thanks for your hard work, will try it later!

Oh well so much for the bulletproof part, guess this was a flop. Let me know when the FC's go away and we'll talk.

The overclock daemon wasn't intended to work with the smartass governor. The daemon uses screen off profiles which makes the smart ass governor useless. Switch back to the on demand governor or the per shoot kernel and things will probably work better

first thing i notice is that scrolling through the homescreens is smooth as butter! wow.
im going to try this one for some time, see if it becomes my new favourite!
Just wondering is the kernel important to work with the daemon or does the governor just need to be set to on demand and it works with any miui compatible kernel?
so could i use tiamat or streamline5 with this kernel then? (sorry i know jsut the concept behind daemon but not the specifics like this)
The force closes of the controller are due to the frequencies in the scripts that are default not being supported by the kernel. If you want to use a different kernel change the frequency in the script then everything will work as expected.

Where is the link to the Rom you cooked up. Think you can do do better? Let me know when It's released and we'll talk.
If have to criticize don't be so rude about it.
i totally agree with u...
Nonsense

Ok so now after reading this:

things are starting to make sense, and it seems legit to go with the pershoot kernel and skip the smartass governor alltogether.
Let's try with the pershoot kernel then
cheers

Whats new you ask....wellllllll
So far I have the system fully up to date with latest CM changes (ie you can say "CID" and the camera will take a photo, brand new option)
- I have cleaned up the code ( Previous overlays were a mess)
- We now can get multi colored LEDs (Red, green and yellowish)
- I have fixed panadroid so that Stock UI and Phablet mode works. I just need to get tablet modes straight and pretty sure I know what is wrong.
- Torch is now fixed.
- Now using mako power profile since we are using mako kernel (AND NO YOU CANT JUST FLASH ANY MAKO KERNEL!!!!! THIS HAS BEEN TWEAKED FOR US)
- Stock UI and Phablet mode now work flawlessly. You can change your dpi without any issues. Both tablet modes need a little work and working with a Paranoid friend to fix it. I am pretty sure I know the issue.
- A few kernel mods have been done.
- CM's Apollo apk has now been added in
- A few other tweaks as well
Download
http://d-h.st/waC
Whats not working:
- As of right now Torch just needs to be enabled. (This will be enabled in next build, still testing it out)
- I need to tweak ROMControl and Navbar settings (Well Nav bar seems to mess up device a little) You will get navbar in Panadroid Mode
- Camera has a max of 8MP currently and auto focus is still iffy. We are working on getting this going.
*******FOR NOW PLEASE DONT TOGGLE THE NAV BAR SOFT KEYS OR NAV BUTTON...I NEED DISABLE THESE ALL TOGETHER.*******
Features
- We are featuring the Faux based kernel Synergy and I have put together, though he did most of the hard work! Kudos!
- 4.7 Linaro compiled kernel and ROM
Thanks to That_Guy0505, and Barshalen for testing this with me. Most of all would like to thank Theo2889, for he gives the best reach arounds...top notch...PM him..sure he would love to help!

Also I would like to let everyone know that if you want the photosphere camera posted by _Epic to work I have tested it and can confirm that it does work with this ROM. I deleted the gallery apk in Root Explorer first and then flashed the zip. Enjoy this ROM guys, it's beautiful!

this rom sounds pretty good.
I have a couple of questions:
Does the camera (focus) work on this ROM?
Is the camera limited to 8MP or 13 MP? (CM 10.1 can only do 8MP)

Bud...I will make sure you are the first to know when Auto Focus completely works. Shelnutt2 and myself are both looking into see why the mm-qcamera-daemon keeps running and causes auto focus not to work. We will then move onto getting 13mp camera going.

I'm really excited to try this; I'm just waiting for the camera focus bug to be worked out in all the AOSP stuff since I use it on a daily basis. But this looks amazing. Thank you, Devs.
Been running this rom for over a day now and I haven't had any issues. There's a lot of features so just be prepared to spend some time to set it up how you want it. Well worth the time to play around and test every feature/option. It's my daily driver from now on for sure.
One quick tip: if the nav bar pops up from messing with the paranoid settings, just set the nav bar size to 0 in the interface settings. Have had no issues at all that way.
Also Rlasalle, on the newest official change log they said they added a script so that after flashing a rom update you don't have to re flash gapps, and it also saves all of your pa settings. Is that going to be in the next version by chance?

I tried this rom, but reverted to cm for now... Some really frustrating issues: navigation bar only goes away if i set size to zero, but that messes up some other parts of ui. Dpi settings are wrong and unfixable. Some fonts are very small, while others are standard. Gps still doesn't work.

Dpi settings are completely "fixable". Go into the hybrid settings, then apps. This area lets you adjust the dpi of each app individually. If you want the app to be the same size and layout as stock then set it to 320.
What does setting the nav bar size to 0 mess up? I've had no issues..
As far as GPS, make sure you get a GPS lock on a stock based rom before flashing an aosp rom. I have not had any issues with GPS after doing this.

Go to hybrid settings, swipe right and go into interface, set nav bar to 0%. This has already been mentioned in a few posts. As for apps with small text, go to apps in the hybrid settings menu and change the apps size to 320.

Known Issues
these "fixes" are only necessary if you are experiencing problems
if experiencing mms issues try this:
MMS confirmed working for a few in IRC.. send receive should work now if you're lucky and can follow directions.
1. Delete telephony.db located at /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db ...Open ES File Explorer > Press the menu button > Settings > Scroll to the bottom > Make sure "Root Explorer" is checked > Click "OK" > navigate to the directory starting from "/" (you could prob do this with the CM file explorer too)
2. Delete messaging Data...From home screen > Press menu button > Manage Apps > "All" tab > Find Messaging > Press "Clear data" button
3. Reboot. Clear cache if you want.
GPS issues:
go back to stock rom or a stock based rom ( a back up is sufficient )
Get a GPS lock and keep it for a few minutes ( make certain you are getting a lock from GPS and not your network or WiFi )
Flash back to ROOTBOX
That should solve any GPS problems
Battery drain issues:
if your experiencing major battery drain there are a few things you can try i will list a few here....
turn wifi, gps, bluetotth, and sync off when not using it
turn auto-brightness off and adjust it to your liking
lower sceen time-out to 15 or 30 seconds
try installing an app like greenify or batteryguru that will shut down apps that are running in the background
try changing your govenor from performance to powersave with an app like faux enhancement or trickstermod
try lowering your max freq. from 15+ to something a little lower
turn things like daydream off if you dont use it
try using wifi more often if able 3g/mobile data will suck the battery dry in no time
try looking in task manager to see if you have rouge apps hanging out.. if you do stop them
Try flashing smoocha kernel can find it in the android development section for this phone
these in no way are guaranteed to get you more life but they are a start to getting better life..hell it cant hurt only make it better
Camera focus issues:
Double tap instead of single tap
Switch to a different mode then back..(switch to HDR then back, switch to panorama then back)
Try the script method posted below
Try a third party camera app
Or try this: a quick hack work-around to anyone who has auto-focus working but only for the 1st app launch.
using smanager
* Install and launch smanager
* Make a new script with this in it
killall mm-qcamera-daemon
killall com.android.gallery3d
am force-stop os.tools.scriptmanager
am start -n com.android.gallery3d/com.android.camera.CameraLauncher
* Click on the script. Set it as "favorite" and highlight "SU". Save
* Add a shortcut on launcher. Select SMShortcuts.
* Select Add one script shortcut. Pick your script. Change the name/image to whatever you want.
* Hit OK and profit.
Need to thank sputnikk23 & prowlingfox for this workaround
or try with tasker method

To do this, In Tasker:
Create a new Task called "Load Camera".
Click the + sign.
Click on Script.
Click on Run Shell.
Paste the following into the Command section (note that the first line is missing - that's on purpose):
Code:
killall com.android.gallery3d
am force-stop os.tools.scriptmanager
am start -n com.android.gallery3d/com.android.camera.CameraLauncher
Check the box next to Use Root - not sure if this is needed or not, but it works fine if it's checked.
Click the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen to accept the changes for the shell command.
Click the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen again to accept the changes to the Task.
Click on the Profiles tab.
Click on the + sign.
I called my Profile "Load Camera"
Click on "Application".
Select Camera.
Click on the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen to accept the selection.
Click on the task that you created in the first steps to tie the profile to the task.
Enjoy....
Give it a shot and let me know if it doesn't work for you, but it works just great for me.

I used the banks minimal but as long as your using a current 4.2.2 gapps I think you'll be good... But I'm not a frequent rootbox user so whatever gapps people were using in rlasalle'$ thread should apply here... today is actually the longest I've been on rb
I was on RB before switching to your AOKP.... Now I gotta decide whether or not to switch back. Since I'm running a fresh 6/29 AOKP build, I may just backup and flash RB. Then I have both! YAY!

I know this issue has been said, but want to put it out there since this is a new thread. I still have the camera image stretched when not on HDR mode. Flashed RB w/Banks minimal.

Yeah that's an issue that's known and I believe the gang is working on it... you can more or less conclude that this ROM will have all of the same bugs that all of our aosp ROMs have.... We are all building from teamlgog source... Except for the kernel in this rom..... which syn is a listed member in teamlgog's Github so in a way it's still using their source for that as well..... In short it is being looked into though I can't exactly speak for them since I'm not a member... but if anything gets fixed it will be included

Has anyone encountered no LED and no hardware key backlight? I can seem to get them working. Check MD5 on the file and it checks out. Full wipe before install. Aside from that Ioving this ROM.

Unofficial CM11.0 Rom with latest merged commits as of about 9:00pm EST 01-16-2014

DO NOT ask for SUPPORT for this ROM in the OFFICIAL CM11 THREAD, ONLY ASK IN THIS THREAD!!

Special Note!
I will only update this Rom a couple times since Official Nightlies have come out for our device.
Tip for those that want to use the new "Ok Google" feature without having to have Google Now open, make sure you are using Launcher and NOT Launcher 3 as your default launcher, found in Settings > Home.
Hmm, nice work. I'll give this a try to see how 4.4 performs as I'm still wary of the bugs which are still present
Going to give this a try as well. Thanks

Make sure you have Developer options enabled and check Root access setting, set it to Apps and ADB, by default on CM it is not set that way, I have no issues, I'm using CM's File Manager and can access full root, same with avast Firewall.

That's about average. For any rom, no matter the version, these days. Anyone with a lot more than that is not really doing much on their phone. Keeping screen timeout high, or watching a movie with screen dim maybe. If they were surfing web a lot or playing games, those apps would be there with higher percentages in gsam app sucker screen. not just android system and standby...etc on there.
Sorry, those aren't gsam screens, but same applies. There should be apps up near the top with "normal" usage.
Not trying to cause trouble.....but that's just unrealistic battery screen on time for average users.

No kernel settings changed from default and I'd agree with the 3-4hrs screen average for our device on most 4.3/4.4 based roms too, but there are a few things that I do that most likely increase my battery life some.
I turn off GPS and Mobile Data right after setup of rom, I'm always connected to Wi-Fi so they aren't really needed.
I don't use Google Now (no need for it), which I tested in the past and found it to be a huge battery drainer.
I keep my screen brightness set to 50% instead of auto, since I'm indoors most of the time.
That 5hr screen on time was from rom's first setup to just before charge, I'd say about 4hrs of that time was me using Flipboard and reading, and watching a couple videos, the other hour would of been rom setup and testing/playing with apps.
I think the rom is great, but I seems to have a few issues.
1. Extended battery charges slow and to a max of 54%
2. in calls the other end can't hear me very well (ear piece, wired headset and Bluetooth)
3. Some voice sms type apps don't play the incoming voice clip (heytell)
otherwise I like it, but I have to have those things :S
I am wondering, is there any possible way to get video recording on this ROM? Other than that I like it a lot and I am actually using it as my DD

Support on this thread is for LiquidSmooth ROM related issues only.
While we do not mind helping, its getting impossible to sort through issues that are ROM related or not. Persistent non-ROM related issues are best suited for the AT&T Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Section.
Below is a few things I would appreciate you list when you are having issues so we have as much information as possible when trying to help you with your problems.
Is this a Clean flash
Is this the stock kernel
What firmware revision are you on
What gapps package are you using
Have you had this issue on other ROMs
Do you have any apps that change/modify system preferences (Xposed, etc)
Do you have any task killers installed
If you are having app issues, are they running off of internal memory or extSdCard
saved

What he is referring to is the "Enable Navigation bar" setting.. In the previous build the setting was missing but the Navigation bar height and width setting was there So we had to flash the zip but in the new build you won't have to, I guess it was an over sight. The hardware keys can still be used if you want.
Cheers
Really enjoy this lollipop build and it having some darkened menus.
Listening to music while the screen is off and just tapping to adjust the volume will change the song instead of adjusting the volume. Changing the battery display style to text will show the icon next to it if device is rebooted.
Great Rom. It just has same issue as all note 2 lollipop roms i.e. when the phone is off and it get connected to the charger the phone freezes and is not possible to power it up until the battery get removed and inserted back again.

That issue is not only confined to the lollipop builds, but also many other CM/AOSP based builds of KitKat and earlier.
Have a good one!
Pretty good for an alpha release
I installed the 12-23 version of the rom and I am pretty impressed with how usable it is. Not all liquidsmooth features are there but it is a really good start.
* Some of the settings screens are for example still with white backgrond while the others were alrwady converted to dark.
* The dialer has been converted into dark background as well. It doesn't particularly look good.
* The gps is not working out of the box. I flashed the zip at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57640318&postcount=32 and it worked top notch.
* Camera is working both back and front and can record video.
* Both incoming and outgoing voice calls work.
* SMS works.
* Data LTE works.
* Stylkus works well. I used papyrus and onenote and it does palm rejection correctly. Not like other cm12 roms where the stylus is just like a mouse. Pressure is correctly detected. Out of the box a mouse pointer will appear where the pen tip is detected. You can edit /system/usr/idc/sec-e-pen.idc and replace the device type from pointer to touchScreen and then reboot
* Netflix doesn't work. We just get the spinning wheel before even signing up and after a while we get error -9.
* Chrome browser suffers from visual artifact as well on google search results. Probably video driver issue.
* playing music through speakers exhibit high distortion at 75% and up. Ut seems to be a driver issue it sounds like digital distortion rather than analog.
* Google now voice search works well execpt for the sound it plays right after it recognized the ok google command. The audio is cut at the end and it is very noticeable.
That's all I got for now. It is really promising.
Thanks to the liquidsmooth team. It is a a really good work.
Stylus not working great

I don't know what happened but the stylus suddenly failed palm rejection. By that I mean writing with the stylus while having a finger or palm on the screen. On version 3.1 of Liquidsmooth, it works well but with version 4.0, any application understanding the spen will behave erratically if both pen digitizer and touch digitizer record simultaneously a touch.

In fact, we loose the palm rejection when the deviceType in sec_epen.idc is set to touchScreen. The intent of that was to remove the mouse cursor that appears when using the spen. Liquidsmooth under kitka has an option to show/hide the cursor in the fly. Maybe the devs can port that to lollipop. I tried 3 lollipop roms so far and they all have the same issues.
