Does anyone know if the LG-H815 from Taiwan (there is a "TWN" after the IMEI number on the box) will support 4G networks in the UK?

What's the full model number? H815? Or 815p etc, take a look at the box/plate?
The model number is LG-H815 (from bith the Hardware info on the phone and the label on the box)
I found out it was a Taiwan model when I tried to use the official LG bootloader unlocker, and it failed saying "Taiwan" somewhere in the error message.

Even if it's a Hong Kong 815T, it will work with LTE in Europe.
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700) - H815
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700), 40(2300) - H815T
UK uses for instance Band 3, 7, 20 - most of the operators.

Hello all,
considering a ZE551ML (the 2Gb RAM model) for purchase from a chinese shop. My question is the following. This shop obviously does not sell the WW version. Would flashing the WW version as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/how-to-upgrade-cn-version-to-ww-t3101556 change the compatible LTE bands of the phone as well?
IOW, is the hardware of all these versions (WW, CN etc) the same and it's the firmware that actually selects which radio bands to work in?
Thx for this question.
I search a solution for the the problem. I can not find a solution. How can change the firmware (moDem) to receive of a CN hardware version of ZE551ML all WW LT frequencies?
I did not R&D the product hence i would not know if china zf2 have all the same parts with ww zf2.
lets say if they are different then the case would be no
CN run on TDD while the rest of the world mostly run on FDD. this is not like software can overwritten, its 50% hardware (filtering (selection of bands)) and 50% software (methodology).
UNLESS CN zf2 comes with FDD function then you CAN cross upgrade firmware it from CN to WW. you should google it if it is true. Or you could ask Asus if they are willing to leak this topic to you.
Well, from what we've said so far, we're mostly speculating here. Perhaps someone has something definitive to share on the subject...

LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800)
- Global*
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 17(700), 20(800)
- US*
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

@corrsea: I am aware of these frequencies. The original question holds though: is the difference in bands between these phones on the hardware or only on software?
Someone who has ZE551ML bought in HK (ZE551ML - 6G013WW) knows exactly which LTE bands are supported?
Based in LTE band list provided by Asus, it should be WW (Global) and ,since I am in China and can use China Unicom 4G network, I can not find it matching with WW supported bands.
Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure that simply flashing WW software on a CN phone will have no effect on the band's it can use. I should be receiving mine soon (CN from aliexpress) and will flash the WW firmware at some point. I'm hopeful that bands 1 and 3 are FDD and 1 will be compatible with my Telco, but who knows. Only ASUS can awnser whether the hardware is capable of being enabled for other bands but I'm not holding my breath for that one.
A Taiwanese zf2 would probably have been best for me but I could not access one easily.
This wiki page is a good resource when making these type of decision.

@corrsea: thank you for your ONTOPIC response mate. Will be glad to hear from you how it has affected reception to LTE bands.
So I see the H815 actually supports way more LTE bands than LG (or at least LG Europe) advertises.
I was wondering if someone could confirm, does the phone absolutely have to be modded to enable them? Specifically bands 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700). Will these work out of the box or do they also require modding? LG Europe only advertises 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz
Thanks in advance for any help.
All of the bands you mentioned work without modification. With modification, you can add band 40 as well.
Perfect thanks so much.
Ok, so does this mean you can buy a unlocked H815 (GSM version, which does not work with verizon CDMA) and use it on verizons LTE frequencies ?
Is that correct ?
my question is HTC use US and UK same bands ? and is US bands work great in middle East ?

As long as the phone bands match what the carrier supports, it'll work
I used my unlocked M8 on 3's LTE network in the UK with no problem.

Check to see which bands your carrier uses.
While it is wikipedia, I've found that this page has provided a good guideline for what bands are used on networks around the world. At least in the places I've gone, I've found it to be accurate. YMMV.

Hi, I recently bought a Moto Z play from China and found out that this particular model only supports 4G: FDD-LTE B1/3/7/26 and TDD-LTE B38/B39/B40/B41 channels.
Is there a possibility to "unlock" the rest of the channels? ( LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 17(700), 19(800), 20(800), 25(1900), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500) ) or flash another baseband without destroying the phone? Or am I just screwed?
I already tried flashing a firmware from another region (EU/US) but the problem persists.
Thanks in advance.

I think it's not possible in MZP,
Don't fight with baseband firmware, you can hard brick your phone
Thanks for yout quick reply. I guess I'll have to import one from the US.
Since it's not possible with z play, is it possible with Verizon z droid? Or z force?
I have the same model, and been trying to accomplish the same with no results, youtube has many "tutorials" on how to do this but for some reason i can't put the phone in diag. mode.
I have successfully added almost all basebands to MZP, i'll make a tutorial, hope, this week, btw i got the Chinese version too .

That would be awesome, thanks in advance.
Here is the post with the guide through to unlock the basebands!
I'm trying to figure out if I can use this phone in the USA (SM-A505G/DS). Some online shops are showing:
LTE band: 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500)
While some other sellers are showing:
LTE band: 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500), 66(1700/2100)
I need 2, 4, 12 and 17 band at the minimum in the USA to function.
I have this phone! I was confuse to when i buy but it had the band needed...B4 B7 B13 B12 and B17 and B66 to but not B29....If you have like mine like you said its a SM-A505G/DS. It will work!

I bought a a50 Latin America variant from an Amazon seller. Though I don't know how to confirm but I think the frequency list is the second one. The first set is probably from the a505f.
Mine to is a latin america from amazon! And im glad that i bought it! I confirm to you that it is working in america with bands you need like b4 b12 b17.
I am in Canada! Sm-505g/ds
I have the Latin American variant under model name SM-A505G/DS bought from US eBay seller, listing the LTE bands: 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500), 66(1700/2100).
Those are seller descriptions and enumerations of the LTE Bands. Is there an app that we can actually verify what LTE Band numbers are baked in the phone hardware? Been trying to find such a thing, but seems there is none.
I have put in one of the sim card slots my T-Mobile sim here in the US, and just like brought up in various forum sections here in XDA, there is something wrong with this phone with regards to LTE data speeds, it is very very slow so that I pulled out the SIM card and reverted to using it on my Note FE Dual Sim and I'm back to the usual fast LTE on the Note FE.
Would be glad to hear what others experience on this issue.
This is he best app for monitoring that i found a long time ago. You can get it in playstore.
It's called Netmonitor lite.
You welcome!!!
When you gonna try it, can you please tell me if it is monitoring when the gps is off.
Usually it work but since android pie, i have to keep the gps on to monitoring.
Thanks!
Google started requiring apps to have Location permission to scan for WiFi in a recent-ish Android release.
