Hi everybody,
in the last days i had some problems with my LG G4 with wifi and i read that the only way to fix the problem was to root the phone and delete some dhcp files .
So this afternoon i started the root following this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
I followed all the points (the only thing i couldn't do is to copy the file system.rooted.H81510c-EU in the root folder in SD card just because i don't have sd external card, so i copied it in the general storage folder.
It all went well til the firmware update. I turned off the phone and restarded in download mode. Now it's about 30 min that it's stuck in the firmware update at 0%... what could i do? do i have to wait or there is some problem?? help pls
come on guys... can someone help me?

have you fixed the problem yet? by the way, where it said to transfer rootedsystem.img to sd card, that meant the root of the phones internal storage - not an external sd card. what exactly is your phone doing right now? are you saying the phone will only boot into download mode?

Hello, so i was trying to root my ace 2 (i8106) JB.. first i flash new firmware (version I8160XXMC8) and then i try to root it, but i have some problems..
So.. i read rooting tutorials on this site, they said upload *.zip files to sdcard and then go to recovery mode and do upgrade from sd card right? i uploaded zip files actually everywhere on sd card, on phone, on external_sd folder everywhere.. but when i go to recovery mode and click on upgrade from sd card i don't see zip files, only directories.. what i'm doing wrong?
thanks.. sorry for bad english
I updated my phone to 6.0 and then rooted it via this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/root-twrp-marshmallow-d855-30b-t3286268
Now is says SD card corrupted. I tried various sd cards it always says the same. I tested the card on the pc/other phone and it works ! It also shows in TWRP. I also noticed in platform.xml, there were no permissions for sd card (write/read/access) so i added them, but its still the same.
Help !
actually now i've put in a 128MB card and it works :S. Any idea what could be wrong with the 64GB sandisk card ?
Nothing wrong. Each time you turn the phone off, if you have set the SD card as external memory, it will show up as corrupted. Just accept reformat and it will be ok.

Okay i formatted it with the phone and it still shows as corrupted, did the same on the pc. If i plug the card in samsung galaxy s 2 it works ...
Well, i formatted the card to Fat32 and it worked, seems like it doesn't support exFat. Great ...
Turns out hacerpermissivo was the problem, the root method.
@massivebanana
Dear friend, i'm also facing the same issue. You mentioned that the problem was with the root method. How did you manage to get around it? Did you have to unroot in order to get this fixed?
Cheers,
Dimitrios

Well i "reinstalled" the os and didn't root it. Instead used the temporary root. If you want it rooted, downgrade to lolipop, root then upgrade to mm via the twrp method
I'm trying to flash stock WW Nougat ROM onto my UK Three P2 from an unencrypted SD card but it says file is encrypted and fails. I've renamed file update.zip and tried it on a few cards all with the same problem.
Can anyone help?

Maybe download it again. Download it on a pc and format card prior to copying it to card and put card in phone while off etc as phone encrypts it I think soon as inserted. Just did my wife's and had to re format the card that was in my p2 as above or it failed.
i had the same issue with the three uk edition its because the phone keeps the file encrypted when downloading directly to device you need to download it on a laptop or pc (ect) and then move it over to the device through a sd card (take it out the phone) it will work then if you change the name of the rom zip file to UPDATE.zip (must be capital's) it took me 2 weeks to figure it out the phone has same kind of block on it being oem unlocked on a few devices (comes up with some weird things in bootloader mode)
Update don't need to be capitals.

I was trying to decrypt my sd card to reinstall my stock rom without any more errors, however I got into the dev/block directory. So, I rename the file "mmcblk0" to "mmcblk1". Then it hard bricked the phone. I'm following the forum tutorials to try to solve the problem and revive my Moto G5 Cedric XT1672, but I need help, because I don't know how to properly use tools like linux terminal and rufus, for example...
In short, I installed a Vyper Os V6.1 custom rom and ended up encrypting the sd card through TWRP 3.5.1.9.2, in a way that only serves to read files. When I tried to decrypt the SD through TWRP, I went straight into the dev/block folder and renamed the "mmcblk" file "from 0 to 1"; and that generated the hard brick.
How can I solve this problem to revive my phone?
Could someone help me with this problem?
The SD card is the only one I have and it has 16gb
Cedric's internal memory is 32gb
The screen does not turn on, it just flashes the notifications or battery flash.
