Hi guys, is anyone else having a issue getting their screen to lock? I've checked all my settings and it's definitely set up correctly to lock as soon as my screen goes off. Yet when I wake it up I can just swipe to open. I have the setting off for my home location safe unlock thing. Any ideas?
Dave
No one else is having locking issues? Really??
Dave
I'm definitely not having issues but if you have a Bluetooth device paired that has smart lock permissions it overrides the lock screen. Try turning off Bluetooth and see if it works

Of course I'm assuming you have a Bluetooth device paired
Ok I found the permissions for the Bluetooth app and nothing about smart screen lock or anything close. It was a app that communicates with my Suunto smart watch. That's the only link Bluetooth app open. Any other ideas?

If the screen is not visible, when I say "OK Google" there is no audible tone to say she is listening, is there a setting to turn this on?
I just experienced the same today.

Are you sure you are not connected to a bluetooth device?
That was the only time I had this issue... When in my car, bluetooth connected, I would not get any audio feedback. Realized it was coming via bluetooth and disconnected.
Good luck and let us know!

That would be it. Never thought of that being the issue. No big deal to me.

No, I have Bluetooth turned off. The only feedback I get from Assistant is a very slight vibration and the on-screen animation of the 4 colored dots. What sort of notification do you get?
Thanks.
This is normal and frankly welcomed lol the crackling beep that would previously sound off was not appealing.

Ran into the same exact problem.... when I first got the phone it would make a noise to notify you it's listening after saying "OK google". For some reason even with the volume all the way up and everything turned on (voice set to 'on', rather than hands-free) it no longer makes any noise or responds, only a slight vibrate.
I called tech support and they told me this is not normal (duh), and had me factory reset... same thing, it persists... so they are mailing me a new phone.

It's a bug. If you go to Settings>Accessibility>Switch Access> and turn it ON the audible tone will return. I've talked with support and gotten nowhere.

Wow your my hero, was so irritated by this.... what the hell is switch access? The settings for it don't really explain what it does..

Yep, It drove me crazy too. I do know that activating switch access solved the audible notification issue, but it adds another. Check out your camera while switch access is activated. There are added zoom and 5 second burst options. I just hope they get this bug worked out.

So I figured out if you disable the talkback app it kills both talkback and switch access under accessibility, which seems to fix it as well!
And that explains those buttons in camera lol.. was wondering why those randomly kept popping up. Even with switch access disabled I was randomly getting them...
EDIT- Nevermind, it only works after you disabled talkback if switch access was on when you disabled talkback, and only until you reboot. So it must leave a service running even after disabling talkback. So I guess we're stuck with it on...

lol gdi... now it ding's twice if you say 'ok google' when the screen is off....
THESE ARE STUPID PROBLEMS TO HAVE GOOGLE...
After first day of using my phone I noticed that assistant wasn't making confirmation tone after I would say Okay Google.
Today someone on the pixel Facebook group just happened to mention it and offered Google advice on how to fix it.
Go to settings > accessibility > enable "switch access".
Mine works now, how about yours?
From what I've read on other forums, enabling Switch Access also puts play controls on your YouTube screen (it is an accessibility helper after all). I'd rather have no Assistant acknowledgement tone than put up with those controls on my screen.
Has anyone found an actual solution to this problem yet? Its been a few months now.
Ok, we need to get this straight. The beep was removed by Google intentionally, so it's not a bug. Since they consider this a "feature", there will not be a way to "fix" it. Next, the Switch Access is NOT a fix. It's a workaround. And, just like many workarounds, it solves one problem and gives you another -- in my case, my volume control no longer work.
I saw a lot of threads about the knockOn options and it turned on in my device.
The problem is after I lock the device with the button or double tap I can't unlock it using double tap also I can't open the clock with swipe down, I can unlock it using the button.
Dose anyone knows whats the problem?
Update:
1) The problem also exists in Safe Mode.
2) After I installed KnockOn - Tap to wake or lock App from Google Play, Double Tap to wake up works better still some delays probably because of the original knock on but still its some kind of workaround.
In my opinion its strange, its not working in safe mode so its suppose to be a hardware problem but on the other hand it works with a software. How can it be? Is it a software problem or hardware problem?
I also have the same problem the double touch does not wake the cell phone
@11alex11 @kamelot24
Swipe down and double tap do not work when the proximity sensor detects something close up such as when the phone is in your pocket.
Verify your proximity sensors are working properly using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tigermonster.proxfinder
It should not say 0cm with nothing near the phone.
As I said in the first post, the double tap work to lock the device but it doesn't work to unlock it (sometimes it does). The proximity sensor works fine.
New progression with the problem solution, check out the main post.

Hi, i have a old toyota and i want to have a old Galaxy Note 4 mounted permanently on the dash. I buy a wireless charger dash mount for the smartphone. So that way the phone always be mounted in the car.. but i want to know if it exist a app that will turn automaticly the phone into power saving mode when the charger is off (when the car is not turned on) and also automaticly wake up the phone and start wifi and GPS when the car turn on. So that way the phone battery will not drain when im not using the car for 2-3 days.
I see the app Tasker but it seams a bit complicated to configure that way...
Any other suggestion? or help with tasker?
Also for you what is the best car dash app menu?
thx
well i guess that doesn't exist
Have you tried "Auto screen on"?
tasker is the way to go. sorry

Hi all, just wondering if anyone is using Google assistant here and encountering any problem with it. My Google routine on the phone returns search results instead of activating the routine. For eg, when I say, ok Google turn on the fan, it shows me the search results for turning on the fan instead.
I have all other notes and all working fine. Been trying to resolve this for the past few days.

I just noticed mine does the same. I'm not using it for home automation, but it just opens search results and nothing in a window of its own.
Also when I say "OK Google" the window that opens only takes up half the screen
---------- Post added at 03:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:12 AM ----------
I just figured it out. Long press the home button to physically activate Google assistant. It will then take you through a real quick set up process and it should work normally

Following these steps to resolve fingerprint unlock issue after Android 10 update:
1. Delete all existing fingerprints.
2. Turn off 'Always On' from Display Settings
2. Set Screen Lock(Security Settings) to 'None'
3. Set Battery Optimisation to 'Don't optimise' for 'In-Display Fingerprint' app.
4. Force stop 'In-Display Fingerprint' app, and remove cache and data for this app.
5. Restart your phone.
6. Select Fingerprint option from Security menu and add your fingerprint, make sure raise to wake up toggle is set to ON in fingerprint menu.
That's it.
If fingerprint icon does not appear on raising the phone, tap the screen twice for it appear.
P.S. : You will have to follow these steps again if you restart the phone after all the steps.
After all this Fingerprint still breaks after,
1. Clicking Notification from lock screen
2. Picking up call from lock screen
Maybe step 3 and 4 are not necessary, But still added it to be safe.

Worked for a few minutes and stopped...
Like all the other solutions that were posted.i think we just have to wait for xiomi to kindly release an update to fix it,in addition to the rest issues.

Clicking on notifications from lock screen also breaks it like it does after a restart.
I am turning off notifications on lock screen until next update is available.

Yeah bro
Anyone identified root cause of for fod disappearing in lock screen?
I identified few scenarios which are breaking fingerprint scanner on lock screen.
1.double press power button, while jump to camera is enabled on double press power button
2. Unlocking phone with any other unlocking methods like face recognition and pattern.
Please share your experience
Having absolutely zero issues here all works as normal and always has since the update.
What I did to get android 10 was completely flash the last stock android 9 using miflash.
Setup as normal and signed into all my accounts. Setup fingerprint and lock screen pattern.
Updated to android 10 through prompt.
Booted to a fully working os and then proceeded to unlock the bootloader and flash magisk patched boot.img through fastboot.
Been working perfectly ever since. No issues with fingerprint icon not being displayed or fod not working or any issues as a matter of fact.
Noticed a slight increase in battery for the first couple of days but that soon turned into a 10 hour average sot since so no issues there either.
I would urge anyone who has issues to take logs of every bug you find and send it to the xiaomi Dev team through the 'feedback app'.
I think they have most bugs sorted now but no harm in sending they might find other issues
I couldn't post it that's why posting it here.
Whenever I connect headphones to mobile and call anybody, it works fine. But if call and then connect the headphones, other person can't hear me at all. This has started after I updated to android 10. Anybody has same issues?
Thats wired headphones
